6._o 11._o but_o most_o man_n will_v say_v this_o doctrine_n be_v not_o true_a for_o they_o never_o feel_v any_o such_o combat_n in_o themselves_o though_o they_o have_v be_v baptize_v many_o year_n i_o answer_v such_o man_n whatsoever_o they_o be_v they_o have_v only_o the_o outward_a baptism_n of_o water_n and_o never_o receive_v the_o inward_a baptism_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o such_o man_n prophetical_a office_n of_o teach_v the_o church_n of_o god_n with_o temptation_n 3_o this_o shall_v admonish_v the_o minister_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n that_o they_o of_o all_o other_o man_n temptation_n these_o four_o make_v a_o divine_a the_o second_o point_n to_o be_v consider_v be_v what_o be_v the_o cause_n which_o move_v our_o saviour_n christ_n to_o go_v into_o the_o wilderness_n which_o be_v the_o lead_n of_o the_o spirit_n jesus_n be_v lead_v aside_o of_o the_o spirit_n luke_n 4._o 1._o or_o as_o the_o word_n signify_v he_o be_v carry_v apart_o mark_n 1._o 12._o not_o by_o nothing_o answer_n yet_o it_o be_v no_o wisdom_n neither_o be_v it_o lawful_a for_o man_n to_o frequent_v and_o abide_v in_o those_o place_n but_o rather_o to_o shunnâ—_n they_o see_v the_o lord_n themselves_o into_o needless_a danger_n unless_o they_o have_v extraordinary_a warrant_n from_o god_n this_o may_v serve_v to_o reprove_v those_o man_n who_o say_v they_o care_v not_o into_o what_o the_o people_n of_o god_n he_o be_v lead_v now_o by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o furnish_v for_o this_o high_a and_o excellent_a call_n hence_o than_o we_o must_v learn_v that_o when_o we_o be_v appoint_v of_o god_n to_o any_o special_a office_n either_o in_o church_n or_o commonweal_n we_o must_v then_o become_v new_a man_n fit_a for_o those_o place_n and_o carry_v ourselves_o suitable_a with_o they_o and_o be_v able_a to_o disclose_v and_o to_o descry_v satan_n fallation_n and_o subtlety_n and_o we_o shall_v wish_v with_o moses_n 29_o that_o all_o the_o lord_n people_n can_v prophesy_v but_o especial_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o word_n they_o must_v labour_v to_o be_v thorough_o acquaint_v with_o the_o book_n of_o god_n to_o observe_v even_o the_o circumstance_n of_o the_o text_n else_o the_o devil_n will_v cast_v a_o mist_n before_o their_o eye_n and_o beguile_v they_o with_o his_o subtle_a fallation_n and_o therefore_o they_o must_v do_v as_o ezechiel_n do_v eat_v up_o the_o book_n of_o god_n and_o that_o we_o may_v not_o perceive_v satan_n subtlety_n and_o deceit_n he_o labour_v to_o keep_v man_n in_o ignorance_n of_o the_o word_n and_o by_o all_o mean_n to_o have_v the_o scripture_n hide_v and_o dark_a and_o if_o it_o be_v possible_a to_o root_v out_o the_o school_n of_o learning_n and_o that_o the_o bible_n may_v be_v burn_v and_o as_o he_o prevail_v in_o popery_n to_o bring_v man_n to_o this_o that_o all_o religion_n and_o the_o scripture_n may_v hang_v on_o man_n device_n and_o man_n learning_n as_o they_o do_v in_o popery_n ground_n all_o upon_o lombard_n the_o master_n of_o the_o sentence_n and_o bar_v the_o common_a people_n from_o the_o scripture_n lock_v they_o up_o in_o a_o unknown_a tongue_n so_o with_o christian_n he_o take_v the_o like_a course_n for_o he_o persuade_v they_o that_o the_o scripture_n be_v hard_a to_o be_v understand_v and_o very_o obscure_a and_o troublesome_a and_o therefore_o he_o draw_v menâ—_n mind_n from_o the_o study_n of_o they_o to_o read_v the_o write_n of_o man_n because_o they_o seem_v to_o be_v more_o pleasant_a and_o delectable_a that_o so_o 〈◊〉_d be_v not_o acquaint_v with_o the_o text_n may_v not_o descry_v his_o deceit_n and_o subtlety_n again_o doctr._n see_v the_o devil_n can_v allege_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o say_v it_o be_v write_v and_o that_o he_o can_v bring_v in_o scripture_n fit_a for_o his_o purpose_n what_o a_o shame_n be_v it_o for_o christian_n if_o they_o do_v not_o labour_v so_o to_o know_v the_o scripture_n of_o god_n that_o they_o may_v allege_v they_o as_o occasion_n shall_v serve_v &_o that_o not_o as_o some_o do_v to_o heap_v place_n upon_o place_n without_o all_o reason_n but_o to_o allege_v they_o fit_o and_o to_o the_o purpose_n last_o see_v this_o be_v a_o devilish_a and_o satanical_a practice_n in_o allege_v the_o scripture_n to_o deprave_v and_o corrupt_v they_o to_o leave_v out_o and_o put_v in_o at_o his_o pleasure_n it_o must_v warn_v we_o that_o when_o we_o be_v lawful_o call_v we_o do_v speak_v and_o utter_v the_o word_n of_o other_o man_n even_o all_o &_o no_o more_o but_o all_o neither_o put_v to_o they_o nor_o take_v from_o they_o and_o that_o without_o change_v their_o word_n or_o the_o sense_n and_o meaning_n of_o they_o he_o shall_v give_v his_o angel_n charge_v over_o thou_o the_o true_a sense_n of_o the_o place_n be_v this_o that_o the_o lore_n have_v a_o special_a care_n of_o his_o people_n and_o when_o he_o send_v any_o judgement_n upon_o the_o israelite_n he_o give_v they_o this_o comfortable_a promise_n that_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o all_o their_o trouble_n he_o himself_o will_v protect_v they_o and_o as_o this_o promise_n be_v make_v to_o they_o so_o it_o be_v general_a to_o the_o whole_a church_n of_o god_n and_o belong_v to_o us._n for_o in_o all_o common_a judgement_n and_o calamity_n the_o child_n of_o god_n which_o walk_v in_o his_o way_n shall_v be_v sure_a to_o have_v protection_n and_o security_n for_o the_o angel_n of_o god_n by_o his_o appointment_n do_v hold_v they_o up_o as_o it_o be_v in_o their_o hand_n in_o which_o word_n there_o be_v a_o comparison_n take_v from_o nurse_n who_o have_v child_n commit_v to_o their_o care_n do_v hold_v they_o very_o chary_o and_o tender_o in_o their_o hand_n and_o dare_v not_o let_v they_o go_v out_o of_o their_o arm_n even_o so_o the_o angel_n of_o god_n by_o his_o appointment_n become_v even_o as_o nurse_n to_o his_o child_n in_o all_o their_o lawful_a way_n 7._o and_o do_v attend_v upon_o they_o and_o be_v very_o careful_a to_o protect_v they_o from_o danger_n so_o long_o as_o they_o keep_v themselves_o within_o the_o compass_n of_o god_n word_n it_o be_v true_a indeed_o that_o judgement_n begin_v at_o the_o house_n of_o god_n and_o he_o often_o afflict_v his_o dear_a child_n to_o try_v their_o faith_n and_o patience_n yet_o be_v be_v most_o certain_a that_o in_o common_a calamity_n the_o child_n of_o god_n shall_v have_v protection_n and_o security_n yea_o the_o angel_n of_o god_n as_o it_o be_v nurse_n shall_v hold_v they_o in_o their_o hand_n and_o defend_v they_o so_o long_o as_o they_o keep_v themselves_o in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n and_o within_o the_o compass_n of_o his_o will_n in_o his_o word_n but_o if_o they_o leave_v the_o way_n of_o god_n commandment_n and_o wander_v in_o by-path_n and_o go_v out_o of_o their_o lawful_a calling_n they_o have_v no_o assurance_n of_o god_n protection_n neither_o have_v god_n angel_n any_o charge_n to_o watch_v over_o they_o see_v then_o god_n have_v make_v so_o merciful_a a_o promise_n of_o protection_n to_o all_o they_o that_o walk_v in_o his_o way_n and_o within_o the_o compass_n of_o his_o commandment_n it_o shall_v warn_v we_o all_o to_o beware_v how_o we_o go_v out_o of_o our_o way_n and_o lawful_a calling_n but_o that_o we_o study_v the_o law_n of_o god_n and_o as_o we_o look_v for_o
