to_o the_o work_n of_o the_o ministry_n sanctify_v those_o gift_n unto_o they_o it_o follow_v necessary_o that_o to_o who_o large_a gift_n be_v give_v both_o unto_o the_o knowledge_n of_o tongue_n and_o of_o the_o scripture_n in_o those_o tongue_n that_o there_o a_o large_a measure_n of_o grace_n may_v and_o do_v dwell_v now_o if_o a_o large_a measure_n of_o grace_n and_o gift_n do_v remain_v in_o some_o man_n more_o than_o other_o than_o those_o man_n be_v more_o fit_a for_o the_o great_a office_n in_o the_o body_n and_o so_o likewise_o a_o distinction_n of_o their_o duty_n must_v be_v grant_v for_o the_o manner_n for_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o true_a and_o exact_a meaning_n of_o the_o scripture_n and_o the_o extent_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n mean_v therein_o catt_n therein_o without_o the_o study_n and_o learning_n of_o art_n and_o science_n man_n can_v be_v make_v fit_a to_o teach_v nor_o the_o purity_n and_o sincerity_n of_o doctrine_n maintain_v against_o heretic_n ursin_n catt_n there_o must_v be_v something_o else_o to_o concur_v beside_o the_o gift_n and_o grace_n give_v to_o the_o elect_n and_o to_o this_o purpose_n pag._n purpose_n wherefore_o say_v he_o serve_v the_o school_n of_o the_o prophet_n and_o the_o knowledge_n of_o art_n and_o tongue_n but_o to_o divide_v the_o word_n aright_o and_o to_o distribute_v to_o every_o man_n necessity_n bolton_n in_o his_o 3._o treat_n pag._n master_n bolton_n speak_v excellent_o and_o so_o also_o how_o shall_v the_o minister_n of_o god_n convince_v the_o learned_a adversary_n if_o there_o be_v no_o skill_n nor_o knowledge_n in_o art_n and_o tongue_n from_o all_o which_o it_o appear_v that_o as_o god_n endue_v his_o minister_n with_o large_a measure_n of_o gift_n in_o tongue_n and_o in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o holy_a scripture_n and_o these_o be_v sanctify_v unto_o they_o and_o have_v not_o give_v such_o large_a measure_n to_o private_a man_n who_o have_v not_o such_o public_a office_n design_v to_o they_o by_o the_o church_n because_o indeed_o not_o fit_a he_o must_v needs_o be_v a_o very_a strange_a man_n that_o will_v deny_v that_o there_o be_v not_o private_a gift_n nor_o private_a christian_n the_o consent_n of_o judicious_a godly_a and_o learned_a divine_n assent_v thereunto_o and_o so_o those_o divine_n as_o perkins_n calvin_n bolton_n etc._n etc._n do_v only_o show_v that_o there_o ought_v to_o be_v a_o mutual_a edify_n of_o one_o another_o in_o those_o grace_n that_o god_n have_v give_v to_o his_o people_n and_o member_n of_o the_o church_n but_o they_o do_v not_o prove_v this_o speech_n that_o there_o be_v no_o private_a gift_n nor_o private_a christian_n now_o because_o that_o which_o follow_v in_o your_o book_n be_v not_o to_o be_v question_v but_o by_o all_o faithful_a man_n divine_n and_o other_o grant_v to_o wit_n that_o christian_n may_v edify_v one_o another_o mutual_o and_o according_a to_o those_o gift_n that_o god_n have_v give_v they_o we_o will_v therefore_o proceed_v to_o that_o which_o follow_v to_o be_v answer_v and_o first_o you_o make_v a_o objection_n against_o the_o universality_n of_o this_o truth_n that_o none_o ought_v to_o preach_v but_o those_o in_o office_n object_n nor_o else_o may_v be_v proper_o say_v to_o preach_v to_o this_o you_o answer_v when_o the_o disperse_a christian_n in_o
