why_o but_o because_o the_o lord_n work_v that_o in_o man_n so_o the_o love_n of_o god_n be_v a_o peculiar_a work_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n none_o be_v able_a to_o love_n jesus_n but_o he_o in_o who_o the_o lord_n have_v wrought_v it_o in_o who_o the_o holy_a ghost_n have_v plant_v this_o affection_n therefore_o the_o way_n to_o get_v it_o be_v earnest_o to_o pray_v to_o acknowledge_v the_o power_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n to_o go_v to_o he_o and_o say_v lord_n i_o be_o not_o able_a to_o do_v it_o this_o acknowledgement_n of_o the_o power_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v the_o way_n and_o the_o glorious_a inheritance_n prepare_v for_o the_o saint_n and_o what_o be_v the_o exceed_a greatness_n of_o his_o power_n in_o they_o that_o believe_v i_o say_v we_o need_v the_o spirit_n to_o show_v these_o thing_n object_n but_o you_o will_v say_v a_o man_n may_v see_v these_o thing_n without_o the_o help_n of_o the_o spirit_n ans._n spirit_n it_o be_v true_a in_o some_o manner_n you_o may_v but_o not_o in_o such_o a_o manner_n as_o shall_v affect_v you_o for_o there_o be_v a_o manner_n of_o see_v proper_a only_o to_o the_o saint_n and_o that_o be_v the_o proper_a work_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o they_o when_o we_o shall_v so_o see_v they_o as_o to_o be_v affect_v with_o they_o otherwise_o you_o may_v read_v the_o scripture_n a_o thousand_o time_n over_o you_o may_v understand_v they_o yet_o you_o shall_v not_o be_v affect_v with_o they_o till_o the_o holy_a ghost_n show_v they_o unto_o you_o this_o be_v the_o secret_a of_o god_n that_o he_o reveal_v to_o those_o who_o he_o mean_v to_o save_v that_o be_v when_o he_o present_v these_o spiritual_a thing_n prepare_v for_o we_o in_o christ_n in_o such_o a_o manner_n as_o that_o we_o shall_v love_v they_o and_o embrace_v they_o when_o we_o shall_v not_o only_o see_v the_o truth_n of_o they_o but_o the_o goodness_n of_o they_o when_o god_n shall_v not_o only_o show_v we_o the_o advantage_n we_o have_v by_o christ_n but_o the_o excellency_n of_o christ_n so_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v in_o love_n with_o his_o person_n as_o well_o as_o to_o be_v ready_a to_o receive_v the_o privilege_n with_o he_o now_o this_o be_v do_v by_o the_o spirit_n open_v 1._o cor._n 2.12_o we_o have_v receive_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n by_o which_o we_o know_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v give_v we_o of_o god_n and_o they_o make_v you_o affect_v with_o the_o thing_n that_o i_o show_v you_o and_o this_o be_v the_o teach_n of_o god._n there_o be_v a_o teach_n by_o man_n and_o a_o teach_n by_o god_n that_o be_v when_o god_n shall_v enable_v a_o man_n to_o see_v thing_n in_o good_a earnest_n otherwise_o it_o will_v be_v but_o as_o a_o man_n that_o see_v a_o thing_n when_o his_o mind_n be_v upon_o another_o matter_n so_o we_o shall_v see_v and_o not_o see_v but_o when_o the_o holy_a ghost_n shall_v show_v you_o these_o thing_n you_o shall_v see_v indeed_o till_o then_o you_o may_v hear_v oft_o enough_o of_o these_o thing_n but_o your_o heart_n
will_v be_v mind_v other_o matter_n some_o about_o their_o profit_n and_o some_o their_o pleasure_n etc._n etc._n but_o when_o the_o holy_a ghost_n shall_v show_v you_o these_o thing_n that_o be_v when_o he_o present_v they_o to_o we_o that_o draw_v the_o heart_n from_o mind_v other_o thing_n to_o seek_v after_o christ_n to_o long_o after_o he_o and_o not_o to_o content_v yourselves_o till_o labour_n spend_v in_o vain_a till_o god_n himself_o open_v the_o cloud_n till_o he_o will_v smile_v on_o a_o man_n and_o send_v his_o spirit_n into_o the_o heart_n to_o give_v a_o secret_a witness_n to_o he_o till_o there_o be_v a_o work_n of_o his_o own_o join_n with_o the_o promise_n we_o find_v by_o experience_n that_o our_o labour_n be_v lose_v it_o be_v true_a we_o ought_v to_o do_v this_o and_o every_o man_n be_v bind_v to_o look_v to_o the_o word_n for_o faith_n come_v by_o hear_v and_o to_o hearken_v to_o the_o ministry_n for_o it_o be_v god_n ordinance_n to_o breed_v faith_n in_o the_o heart_n but_o yet_o till_o there_o be_v a_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n a_o man_n shall_v never_o be_v so_o persuade_v as_o to_o have_v any_o sure_a and_o sound_a comfort_n by_o it_o now_o all_o when_o a_o man_n be_v once_o wrought_v upon_o by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n he_o come_v of_o himself_o but_o that_o phrase_n be_v use_v only_o to_o show_v that_o backwardness_n that_o be_v in_o man_n by_o nature_n for_o when_o the_o holy_a ghost_n have_v wrought_v upon_o the_o will_n draw_v and_o have_v turn_v that_o than_o a_o man_n come_v upon_o his_o own_o leg_n and_o be_v move_v from_o a_o inward_a principle_n of_o his_o own_o therefore_o man_n be_v so_o draw_v that_o withal_o they_o run_v after_o he_o as_o it_o be_v cant._n 1._o 1.4_o but_o it_o show_v this_o thing_n for_o which_o i_o have_v use_v it_o that_o there_o be_v a_o wondrous_a backwardness_n in_o all_o of_o we_o by_o nature_n and_o that_o this_o must_v be_v do_v by_o a_o great_a work_n of_o the_o spirit_n therefore_o the_o apostle_n
go_v and_o nothing_o but_o death_n shall_v part_v between_o i_o and_o thou_o when_o naomi_n see_v that_o she_o be_v steadfast_o mind_v she_o take_v she_o along_o with_o she_o so_o if_o god_n shall_v will_v be_v thou_o and_o thou_o shall_v be_v he_o his_o people_n shall_v be_v thy_o people_n this_o be_v it_o that_o knit_v the_o knot_n between_o you_o my_o belove_a be_v i_o and_o i_o be_o he_o his_o word_n be_v pass_v for_o it_o he_o have_v promise_v his_o consent_n now_o if_o we_o will_v give_v we_o the_o match_n be_v make_v if_o it_o be_v doubtful_a whether_o we_o shall_v have_v his_o consent_n it_o be_v another_o case_n but_o we_o have_v a_o sure_a word_n for_o it_o we_o shall_v learn_v therefore_o to_o importune_v he_o now_o when_o we_o have_v do_v this_o when_o we_o be_v come_v with_o this_o boldness_n and_o have_v lay_v hold_n upon_o christ_n then_o let_v we_o look_v to_o the_o privilege_n then_o let_v we_o take_v the_o pardon_n of_o our_o sin_n adoption_n and_o reconciliation_n and_o all_o thing_n else_o only_o remember_v that_o condition_n of_o after-obedience_n that_o though_o we_o may_v come_v free_o and_o come_v with_o this_o boldness_n and_o though_o nothing_o be_v require_v but_o that_o we_o take_v this_o son_n of_o god_n that_o be_v offer_v yet_o i_o say_v there_o be_v a_o condition_n of_o after-obedience_n we_o must_v resolve_v to_o serve_v he_o and_o to_o love_v he_o with_o all_o our_o heart_n we_o must_v resolve_v to_o do_v that_o that_o ruth_n promise_v to_o naomi_n to_o live_v with_o he_o and_o to_o be_v with_o he_o and_o that_o his_o people_n shall_v be_v our_o people_n etc._n etc._n object_n but_o you_o will_v say_v i_o be_o willing_a to_o do_v this_o to_o part_v from_o my_o lust_n and_o to_o be_v to_o christ_n alone_o i_o have_v rather_o enjoy_v the_o sweetness_n of_o my_o lust_n still_o be_v thou_o not_o now_o worthy_a to_o be_v condemn_v but_o if_o thou_o answer_v i_o will_v upon_o condition_n i_o be_v able_a to_o overcome_v my_o lust_n i_o assure_v thou_o god_n will_v make_v thou_o able_a god_n require_v no_o more_o but_o a_o willingness_n to_o come_v and_o take_v christ_n the_o other_o be_v god_n work_n ay_o object_n but_o i_o have_v try_v and_o have_v not_o find_v it_o so_o i_o answer_v answ._n it_o can_v be_v thou_o have_v not_o yet_o solue_v to_o part_v with_o thy_o lust_n thou_o have_v not_o yet_o set_v down_o this_o peremptory_a conclusion_n in_o thyself_o that_o thou_o will_v forsake_v every_o thing_n that_o you_o may_v have_v christ_n if_o any_o man_n say_v he_o be_v willing_a to_o take_v christ_n and_o to_o part_v with_o the_o sweetness_n and_o the_o pleasantness_n and_o the_o profitablenesse_n that_o his_o lust_n bring_v to_o he_o if_o he_o can_v get_v the_o victory_n if_o he_o be_v free_v from_o the_o solicitation_n of_o they_o let_v i_o tell_v thou_o thou_o must_v first_o resolve_v to_o take_v christ_n upon_o his_o own_o condition_n and_o for_o the_o other_o god_n have_v promise_v to_o do_v that_o himself_o 1._o cor._n 8.9_o 8.9_o god_n will_v confirm_v you_o and_o keep_v you_o blameless_a for_o he_o be_v faithful_a that_o have_v call_v you_o to_o the_o fellowship_n of_o his_o son_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v do_v you_o think_v that_o god_n will_v call_v man_n to_o christ_n that_o he_o will_v beseech_v man_n to_o take_v his_o son_n will_v christ_n resurrection_n shall_v raise_v you_o up_o to_o newness_n of_o life_n god_n have_v promise_v that_o he_o will_v give_v the_o holy_a ghost_n for_o he_o never_o give_v his_o son_n to_o any_o but_o he_o give_v they_o the_o spirit_n of_o his_o son_n too_o now_o he_o that_o have_v call_v you_o be_v faithful_a and_o he_o will_v do_v it_o so_o that_o i_o say_v if_o thou_o will_v come_v in_o that_o be_v if_o thou_o will_v accept_v of_o christ_n upon_o his_o condition_n it_o be_v certain_a god_n will_v receive_v thou_o and_o if_o thou_o find_v thyself_o trouble_v with_o the_o violence_n of_o any_o lust_n or_o of_o any_o temptation_n press_v upon_o god_n urge_v he_o with_o his_o word_n and_o promise_n that_o he_o will_v assist_v thou_o by_o his_o own_o strength_n that_o he_o will_v enable_v thou_o to_o overcome_v that_o he_o will_v give_v thou_o the_o spirit_n of_o his_o son_n and_o resolve_v as_o job_n though_o he_o kill_v i_o yet_o will_v i_o trust_v in_o he_o for_o i_o have_v ourselves_o to_o be_v condemn_v man_n that_o there_o be_v nothing_o in_o we_o to_o help_v ourselves_o we_o must_v be_v break_v in_o heart_n in_o some_o measure_n we_o must_v see_v ourselves_o to_o be_v child_n of_o wrath_n and_o then_o we_o will_v come_v and_o seek_v for_o a_o remedy_n and_o that_o
will_v look_v upon_o other_o thing_n as_o thing_n that_o thou_o regard_v not_o much_o thou_o will_v grieve_v for_o they_o as_o if_o thou_o grieve_v not_o and_o rejoice_v as_o if_o thou_o rejoyce_v not_o thou_o will_v use_v the_o world_n as_o if_o thou_o use_v it_o not_o thy_o heart_n will_v be_v take_v up_o about_o christ_n and_o about_o the_o thing_n that_o belong_v to_o the_o kingdom_n of_o
