be_v poor_a unless_o grace_n do_v that_o for_o you_o that_o riches_n can_v nay_o and_o grace_n must_v do_v it_o not_o only_o without_o but_o against_o your_o riches_n all_o that_o the_o world_n can_v do_v for_o you_o be_v but_o to_o satisfy_v your_o sensual_a appetite_n and_o by_o the_o superfluity_n to_o please_v a_o covetous_a mind_n and_o be_v this_o a_o matter_n of_o so_o great_a worth_n a_o beast_n may_v have_v his_o sensual_a delight_n as_o well_o as_o you_o and_o if_o man_n be_v better_a than_o a_o beast_n do_v you_o think_v he_o be_v not_o capable_a of_o a_o better_a and_o high_a delight_n than_o beast_n will_v you_o call_v yourselves_o man_n and_o christian_n and_o yet_o take_v up_o with_o the_o pleasure_n of_o a_o bruit_n and_o there_o place_v your_o happiness_n if_o the_o drunkard_n have_v a_o hundred_o barrel_n of_o ale_n or_o wine_n more_o than_o he_o can_v drink_v this_o do_v not_o so_o much_o as_o please_v his_o appetite_n but_o only_o his_o faâ—â—â—_n so_o if_o you_o have_v never_o so_o much_o riches_n more_o than_o your_o flesh_n â—â—_o self_n have_v use_v for_o this_o only_a please_v a_o covetous_a fancy_n all_o that_o you_o enjoy_v be_v but_o so_o much_o as_o may_v satisfy_v the_o luâ—â—s_n of_o your_o flesh_n and_o i_o pray_v you_o tell_v i_o whether_o you_o do_v not_o yourselves_o believe_v that_o a_o sober_a temperate_a heavenly_a christian_a do_v live_v as_o comfortable_a a_o life_n as_o you_o and_o whether_o they_o have_v not_o more_o peace_n in_o their_o mind_n without_o your_o sinful_a sensual_a delight_n than_o you_o have_v with_o they_o indeed_o it_o be_v but_o the_o distemper_n of_o your_o mind_n that_o make_v that_o so_o pleasant_a to_o you_o which_o another_o that_o be_v well_o in_o his_o wit_n will_v be_v weary_a of_o as_o the_o swine_n take_v pleasure_n to_o tumble_v in_o the_o mire_n which_o a_o wise_a man_n will_v not_o do_v do_v you_o not_o sin_n against_o your_o own_o experience_n have_v you_o not_o find_v that_o the_o world_n be_v a_o unsatisfactory_a thing_n and_o can_v help_v you_o in_o a_o day_n of_o trouble_n and_o yet_o will_v you_o stick_v to_o it_o quest._n 3._o my_o next_o question_n be_v what_o have_v and_o will_v you_o so_o far_o lay_v by_o your_o reason_n as_o to_o go_v against_o the_o experience_n of_o all_o the_o world_n do_v they_o all_o cry_v out_o against_o it_o as_o vanity_n and_o yet_o will_v you_o take_v no_o warning_n can_v you_o think_v to_o find_v that_o by_o it_o that_o no_o man_n ever_o find_v before_o you_o what_o be_v have_v you_o to_o extract_v such_o comfort_n from_o the_o creature_n that_o never_o man_n can_v do_v till_o now_o it_o be_v the_o shame_n of_o they_o that_o spend_v so_o much_o cost_n and_o time_n and_o labour_n in_o seek_v that_o seed_n of_o gold_n which_o they_o call_v the_o philosopher_n stone_n because_o never_o any_o that_o seek_v it_o can_v find_v it_o but_o have_v all_o lose_v their_o labour_n so_o be_v it_o your_o far_a great_a shame_n to_o run_v a_o hazard_n so_o much_o great_a for_o that_o which_o never_o man_n from_o the_o begin_n of_o the_o world_n can_v find_v till_o now_o solomon_a go_v as_o far_o as_o any_o in_o the_o please_a of_o who_o will_v serve_v such_o a_o master_n such_o a_o idol_n god_n as_o can_v relieve_v you_o in_o the_o day_n of_o your_o distressâ—â—_n when_o conscience_n be_v awaken_v and_o begin_v to_o stir_v of_o sensual_a thing_n and_o so_o must_v be_v drown_v in_o unprofitable_a care_n what_o he_o shall_v eat_v or_o drink_v and_o wherewith_o he_o shall_v be_v clothe_v what_o matter_n be_v it_o to_o a_o wise_a man_n whether_o his_o meat_n be_v sweet_a or_o bitter_a or_o whether_o his_o drink_n be_v strong_a or_o small_a or_o whether_o his_o clothes_n be_v fine_a or_o homely_a or_o whether_o he_o be_v honour_v or_o deride_v or_o pass_v by_o save_v only_o as_o these_o thing_n may_v have_v relation_n to_o great_a thing_n and_o as_o the_o body_n must_v be_v keep_v in_o a_o serviceable_a plight_n and_o we_o must_v value_v that_o capacity_n most_o in_o which_o we_o may_v best_o do_v our_o master_n work_n keep_v under_o the_o flesh_n and_o you_o will_v easy_o overcome_v the_o world_n otherwise_o you_o life_n the_o flesh_n will_v have_v its_o prey_n and_o please_v it_o must_v be_v their_o conscience_n tell_v they_o it_o will_v cost_v thou_o dear_a their_o flesh_n like_o a_o hungry_a dog_n be_v ready_a to_o seize_v upon_o that_o which_o it_o desire_v and_o conscience_n do_v as_o it_o be_v stand_v over_o it_o with_o a_o staff_n and_o say_v meddle_v with_o it_o if_o thou_o dare_v and_o sometime_o the_o poor_a sinner_n be_v restrain_v and_o sometime_o again_o he_o venture_v upon_o the_o prey_n and_o he_o that_o have_v condemn_v himself_o for_o his_o sin_n do_v turn_v to_o his_o fix_v the_o eye_n of_o your_o soul_n on_o he_o and_o his_o glory_n will_v darken_v all_o the_o world_n and_o rescue_v you_o from_o the_o misleadings_a of_o that_o false_a fire_n that_o do_v delude_v you_o come_v near_o he_o daily_o and_o taste_v how_o good_a he_o be_v and_o the_o sweetness_n of_o his_o love_n will_v make_v you_o marvel_n at_o they_o that_o think_v the_o world_n so_o sweet_a and_o conquer_v by_o the_o world_n and_o their_o own_o flesh_n though_o it_o be_v the_o design_n of_o the_o devil_n and_o the_o slanderous_a world_n to_o obscure_v or_o vilify_v the_o work_n of_o grace_n on_o the_o soul_n of_o the_o sanctify_a yet_o must_v it_o be_v the_o care_n of_o believer_n to_o counter-work_n they_o and_o maintain_v and_o manifest_v the_o lustre_n of_o that_o grace_n to_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o author_n he_o that_o magnify_v the_o cure_n do_v honour_v the_o physician_n but_o he_o that_o slight_v or_o disregard_v it_o do_v dishonour_v he_o to_o debase_v the_o work_n of_o creation_n be_v a_o reproach_n to_o the_o creator_n yea_o to_o overlook_a it_o and_o not_o admire_v and_o magnify_v it_o be_v a_o injury_n to_o he_o to_o vilify_v the_o work_n of_o the_o redeemer_n be_v horrible_a insidelity_n and_o ingratitude_n and_o to_o slight_v it_o and_o not_o to_o magnify_v it_o be_v damnable_a and_o must_v it_o not_o be_v so_o then_o to_o vilify_v or_o not_o to_o magnify_v the_o work_n of_o the_o sanctifier_n why_o shall_v it_o not_o be_v our_o duty_n to_o magnify_v the_o work_n of_o sanctification_n as_o well_o as_o the_o work_n of_o creation_n and_o redemption_n especial_o when_o it_o be_v the_o end_n which_o the_o other_o
