s._n august_n in_o his_o 12._o book_n of_o the_o city_n god_n and_o 15._o chap._n in_o modesty_n refuse_v to_o determine_v this_o question_n upon_o the_o one_o part_n he_o say_v that_o he_o dare_v not_o deny_v but_o god_n be_v lord_n from_o all_o eternity_n and_o one_o the_o other_o part_n he_o say_v it_o be_v hard_o to_o conceive_v this_o since_o dominion_n import_v a_o respect_n to_o the_o creature_n which_o begin_v in_o time_n but_o if_o we_o consider_v well_o we_o will_v find_v that_o the_o question_n be_v rather_o verbal_a then_o real_a for_o clear_v whereof_o you_o be_v to_o understand_v that_o there_o be_v two_o thing_n import_v by_o the_o dominion_n of_o god_n the_o first_o which_o be_v the_o chief_a and_o principal_n be_v his_o power_n over_o all_o thing_n that_o actual_o be_v or_o be_v possible_a the_o second_o be_v a_o reference_n unto_o the_o creature_n subject_a unto_o god_n this_o belong_v unto_o god_n but_o in_o time_n but_o it_o be_v nothing_o else_o then_o a_o outward_a &_o secondary_a respect_n that_o which_o be_v inward_a and_o principal_a in_o the_o dominion_n of_o god_n to_o wit_n his_o power_n be_v from_o eternity_n and_o therefore_o he_o be_v true_o from_o eternity_n lord_n his_o dominion_n be_v ground_v on_o his_o power_n which_o be_v one_o with_o his_o essence_n and_o that_o be_v eternal_a neither_o be_v it_o the_o creature_n that_o actual_o be_v who_o alone_o be_v subject_a to_o he_o even_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v not_o at_z under_z his_o dominion_n he_o call_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v not_o as_o if_o they_o be_v they_o obey_v his_o commandment_n and_o commandment_n presuppose_v dominion_n by_o virtue_n whereof_o it_o have_v power_n thus_o the_o dominion_n of_o god_n be_v from_o all_o eternity_n second_o end_v it_o we_o look_v to_o follow_v age_n this_o dominion_n and_o kingdom_n endure_v after_o they_o to_o all_o eternity_n this_o be_v true_a both_o of_o god_n kingdom_n general_o and_o particular_o consider_v that_o be_v the_o kingdom_n of_o his_o power_n as_o it_o be_v call_v by_o which_o he_o command_v and_o rule_v all_o thing_n it_o be_v certain_a this_o kingdom_n shall_v never_o end_v for_o god_n shall_v ever_o have_v supreme_a power_n over_o thing_n that_o be_v or_o be_v possible_a his_o particular_a kingdom_n be_v that_o whereby_o he_o reign_v in_o his_o church_n and_o this_o also_o shall_v have_v no_o end_n hence_o the_o angel_n speak_v of_o our_o saviour_n luke_n 1._o say_v he_o shall_v reign_v in_o the_o house_n of_o jacob_n for_o ever_o and_o of_o his_o kingdom_n there_o shall_v be_v other_o rule_n authority_n and_o power_n shall_v be_v put_v down_o here_o it_o be_v the_o kingdom_n of_o grace_n god_n rule_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o his_o servant_n by_o his_o spirit_n &_o grace_n hereafter_o it_o shall_v be_v the_o kingdom_n of_o glory_n wherein_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n wisdom_n mercy_n and_o power_n shall_v be_v manifest_v in_o the_o eternal_a salvation_n of_o his_o own_o and_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o power_n and_o justice_n shall_v appear_v in_o the_o eternal_a confusion_n of_o his_o enemy_n now_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n be_v but_o not_o peaceable_a now_o his_o enemy_n be_v overcome_v but_o not_o whole_o root_v out_o and_o trample_v under_o foot_n satan_n remain_v yet_o and_o go_v about_o like_o a_o roar_a lion_n seek_v who_o he_o may_v devour_v sin_n and_o death_n remain_v as_o yet_o there_o be_v many_o that_o rebel_n against_o the_o law_n of_o god_n and_o despise_v his_o commandment_n but_o all_o these_o enemy_n shall_v be_v hereafter_o root_v out_o satan_n with_o his_o angel_n shall_v be_v chain_v in_o hell_n and_o shall_v have_v no_o more_o leave_n to_o tempt_v sin_n shall_v be_v banish_v also_o in_o the_o godly_a it_o shall_v not_o be_v their_o flesh_n shall_v no_o more_o resist_v the_o spirit_n and_o the_o spirit_n god_n and_o the_o wicked_a shall_v have_v no_o more_o liberty_n to_o commit_v any_o new_a sin_n death_n shall_v be_v root_v out_o by_o the_o resurrection_n so_o that_o we_o may_v then_o sing_v death_n be_v swallow_v up_o in_o victory_n o_o death_n where_o be_v thy_o sting_n o_o grave_n where_o be_v thy_o victory_n last_o wicked_a man_n the_o rebel_n of_o this_o great_a king_n and_o disobedient_a to_o his_o will_n shall_v be_v subject_v to_o eternal_a pain_n against_o their_o will_n whereas_o the_o servant_n of_o god_n shall_v be_v advance_v to_o the_o participation_n of_o his_o eternal_a glory_n thus_o this_o his_o kingdom_n shall_v be_v eternal_a and_o not_o only_o so_o in_o respect_n of_o himself_o god_n but_o with_o a_o reference_n to_o the_o time_n of_o endurance_n of_o the_o creature_n as_o we_o can_v conceive_v the_o immensity_n of_o god_n but_o with_o a_o reference_n to_o a_o bodily_a space_n wherein_o the_o creature_n be_v or_o may_v be_v and_o therefore_o the_o eternitio_fw-la of_o god_n as_o conceive_v by_o we_o include_v a_o reference_n to_o the_o duration_n &_o continuance_n eternity_n which_o have_v no_o beginning_n at_o all_o so_o time_n shall_v have_v a_o end_n but_o if_o we_o go_v beyond_o that_o end_n as_o many_o million_o of_o age_n as_o there_o be_v stare_v in_o heaven_n pickle_n of_o sand_n on_o the_o sea_n shore_n drop_n of_o water_n in_o the_o ocean_n yet_o be_v we_o infinite_o short_a of_o the_o length_n of_o eternity_n which_o have_v no_o end_n at_o all_o so_o it_o be_v a_o endurance_n simple_o and_o altogether_o unmeasurable_a the_o second_o property_n of_o it_o be_v that_o it_o be_v such_o a_o endurance_n as_o have_v no_o flux_n in_o it_o once_o no_o
be_v this_o peace_n that_o be_v promise_v here_o you_o will_v say_v it_o be_v not_o the_o outward_a or_o worldly_a peace_n here_o for_o this_o promise_n be_v make_v to_o man_n compass_v about_o with_o worldly_a trouble_n and_o calamity_n the_o church_n in_o this_o song_n profess_v so_o much_o herself_o o_o lord_n our_o god_n say_v they_o verse_n 13._o other_o lord_n beside_o thou_o have_v have_v sorrow_n for_o the_o perfect_a sorrow_n of_o christ_n jesus_n and_o for_o these_o strong_a cry_n and_o tear_n even_o the_o tear_n of_o blood_n which_o he_o shed_v for_o we_o in_o the_o day_n of_o patriarch_n and_o prophet_n who_o be_v the_o most_o sincere_a friend_n of_o god_n be_v so_o frequent_a in_o holy_a scripture_n in_o mourn_v for_o the_o sin_n of_o oâ—hers_n horror_n have_v take_v of_o other_o heaven_n i_o answer_v it_o reach_v also_o to_o the_o consequent_n of_o sin_n and_o first_o to_o the_o imperfection_n that_o be_v in_o we_o in_o serve_v of_o god._n this_o be_v matter_n
