he_o man_n will_v obtain_v riches_n without_o labour_n and_o crown_n without_o fight_v they_o like_v well_o of_o reward_n but_o they_o will_v take_v no_o pain_n ghap._n xii_o how_o man_n suffer_v themselves_o to_o be_v deceive_v by_o a_o fair_a outside_n and_o false_a appearance_n of_o good_a 1._o this_o world_n felicity_n put_v all_o together_o with_o all_o those_o thing_n that_o be_v most_o death_n and_o the_o dread_n of_o god_n righteous_a judgement_n the_o joy_n of_o saint_n above_o and_o the_o grievous_a torment_n of_o the_o wicked_a in_o hell_n these_o be_v but_o word_n which_o we_o hear_v we_o have_v dark_a and_o narrow_a conception_n of_o they_o we_o understand_v not_o of_o how_o great_a a_o importance_n they_o be_v and_o therefore_o we_o be_v not_o so_o affect_v with_o they_o as_o to_o be_v make_v wise_a unto_o salvation_n of_o thing_n offer_v to_o our_o consideration_n we_o only_o mind_v that_o least_o outward_a part_n which_o fall_v under_o the_o reach_n of_o sense_n if_o he_o bow_v himself_o more_o than_o needs_o there_o be_v no_o harm_n do_v but_o if_o he_o come_v too_o upright_o and_o never_o so_o little_a too_o high_a he_o must_v bruise_v his_o head_n if_o not_o break_v his_o skull_n so_o the_o low_a humility_n will_v never_o hurt_v the_o soul_n but_o the_o least_o pride_n may_v destroy_v it_o let_v a_o christian_a therefore_o to_o avoid_v this_o all_o thing_n it_o may_v be_v subject_a and_o conformable_a to_o his_o bless_a will_n be_v that_o live_n and_o holy_a sacrifice_n wherein_o god_n delight_v which_o none_o but_o a_o pious_a man_n can_v offer_v and_o which_o be_v the_o high_a act_n of_o religion_n we_o can_v perform_v on_o earth_n for_o in_o this_o submit_v and_o conform_v our_o will_n to_o the_o divine_a pleasure_n we_o offer_v not_o to_o god_n any_o one_o particular_a thing_n alone_o but_o our_o whole_a self_n body_n and_o soul_n and_o all_o that_o we_o have_v without_o any_o reservation_n therefore_o we_o shall_v make_v that_o our_o daily_a study_n thus_o to_o deny_v and_o forsake_v ourselves_o to_o empty_v our_o heart_n of_o all_o self-desire_n and_o self-affection_n that_o even_o here_o god_n may_v be_v all_o in_o all_o in_o we_o and_o we_o may_v be_v whole_o devote_v to_o he_o prepare_v and_o willing_a to_o be_v in_o all_o thing_n dispose_v of_o by_o he_o according_a as_o he_o shall_v think_v good_a for_o endeavour_n manifest_v our_o love_n by_o daily_o mortify_v our_o sin_n and_o attain_v to_o new_a and_o high_a degree_n of_o virtue_n and_o then_o shall_v a_o christian_a be_v most_o perfect_a and_o happy_a when_o his_o heart_n shall_v be_v empty_a of_o himself_o and_o free_a from_o the_o love_n of_o the_o world_n but_o purify_v and_o burn_a with_o the_o love_n of_o god_n chap._n xxxiv_o of_o from_o it_o by_o no_o enticement_n be_v temperance_n and_o to_o prefer_v nothing_o to_o it_o be_v justice_n and_o the_o order_n of_o love_n must_v follow_v the_o order_n of_o thing_n and_o so_o god_n be_v to_o be_v love_v infinite_o more_o than_o any_o creature_n because_o he_o be_v infinite_o better_a more_o perfect_a and_o lovely_a we_o become_v good_a and_o pure_a by_o love_v he_o who_o be_v the_o fountain_n of_o all_o goodness_n and_o purity_n for_o our_o manner_n follow_v our_o affection_n we_o become_v either_o virtuous_a or_o vicious_a according_a to_o the_o nature_n of_o what_o we_o most_o love_n 2._o the_o true_a object_n of_o love_n be_v god_n our_o neighbour_n and_o ourselves_o god_n in_o the_o first_o place_n to_o who_o all_o love_n be_v due_a and_o from_o who_o it_o must_v pass_v to_o other_o creature_n according_a as_o they_o be_v more_o or_o less_o like_o he_o by_o this_o we_o must_v love_v our_o neighbour_n because_o he_o be_v or_o that_o he_o may_v be_v just_a and_o
