fear_v lest_o his_o natural_a man_n will_v not_o be_v entertain_v of_o we_o according_a to_o his_o speech_n hitherto_o give_v out_o in_o his_o recommendation_n seek_v colour_n to_o enter_v his_o suit_n again_o by_o most_o untrue_o charge_v our_o minister_n and_o that_o without_o offer_v any_o proof_n to_o teach_v that_o the_o inner_a man_n of_o the_o regenerate_a be_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n which_o i_o can_v not_o think_v he_o do_v as_o have_v receive_v it_o either_o by_o speech_n or_o write_v from_o any_o of_o account_n on_o our_o side_n but_o because_o the_o adamant_n rock_n of_o free_a will_n and_o man_n ability_n have_v such_o power_n to_o work_v his_o shipwreck_n and_o therefore_o he_o labour_v not_o only_o to_o overthrow_v our_o suppose_a opinion_n of_o the_o inner_a man_n but_o also_o above_o all_o to_o establish_v the_o natural_a man_n with_o as_o many_o prerogative_n as_o we_o give_v the_o regenerate_a man_n concern_v a_o sanctify_a life_n that_o so_o by_o that_o mean_n his_o regenerate_a man_n may_v sit_v above_o the_o star_n &_o attain_v to_o that_o in_o this_o life_n which_o we_o have_v no_o promise_n for_o but_o in_o the_o life_n to_o come_v in_o answer_v whereunto_o i_o hope_v many_o word_n will_v not_o be_v look_v for_o though_o he_o in_o this_o point_n be_v large_a than_o ordinary_a partly_o because_o i_o may_v not_o follow_v his_o humour_n where_o he_o fight_v with_o his_o shadow_n and_o partly_o also_o for_o that_o i_o have_v already_o set_v out_o the_o full_a proportion_n of_o the_o natural_a man_n according_a to_o the_o scripture_n first_o therefore_o in_o a_o word_n to_o satisfy_v the_o reader_n concern_v the_o false_a report_n of_o this_o man_n we_o be_v teach_v and_o do_v receive_v it_o from_o the_o evidence_n of_o the_o word_n that_o the_o inner_a man_n be_v the_o whole_a man_n so_o far_o forth_o as_o he_o be_v bear_v again_o of_o god_n and_o wrought_v upon_o and_o renew_v 16._o by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n whereby_o not_o only_o his_o understanding_n be_v enlighten_v to_o apprehend_v &_o perceive_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v of_o god_n but_o also_o his_o will_n and_o affection_n rightn_v to_o desire_v and_o to_o move_v the_o member_n to_o the_o do_v of_o they_o which_o renew_v because_o it_o be_v but_o in_o 12._o part_n in_o this_o life_n therefore_o be_v there_o a_o contrariety_n and_o strife_n in_o the_o child_n every_o man_n see_v that_o can_v read_v the_o 1._o verse_n of_o the_o epistle_n to_o the_o ephe._n unless_a e._n g._n presuine_v so_o far_o of_o his_o singular_a cunning_n in_o convey_n that_o he_o can_v bring_v his_o natural_a man_n into_z y_z â—_o number_n of_o the_o true_a saint_n and_o faithful_a one_o who_o the_o apostle_n call_v upon_o in_o that_o epistle_n to_o put_v off_o the_o old_a man_n if_o one_o say_v there_o be_v hypocrite_n among_o they_o not_o regenerate_v i_o strive_v not_o therein_o but_o then_o they_o must_v observe_v withal_o that_o which_o i_o wish_v e._n g._n can_v more_o watchful_a as_o hereafter_o more_o large_o now_o where_o he_o say_v the_o old_a man_n be_v nothing_o else_o but_o the_o wicked_a conversation_n and_o life_n of_o the_o natural_a man_n his_o breath_n be_v rank_n of_o pelagian_n free_a will_n while_o hereby_o he_o insinuatety_n yea_o and_o the_o law_n of_o contrary_n constrain_v he_o to_o say_v that_o the_o new_a man_n be_v the_o new_a and_o godly_a conversation_n of_o the_o natural_a man_n which_o though_o it_o be_v a_o absurdity_n hateful_a enough_o to_o all_o that_o be_v but_o mean_o exercise_v in_o the_o scripture_n that_o the_o natural_a man_n shall_v thus_o be_v adorn_v with_o free_a will_n yet_o it_o be_v so_o much_o more_o foul_a and_o odious_a in_o this_o man_n as_o that_o he_o give_v the_o natural_a man_n in_o this_o draw_v from_o these_o word_n of_o s._n peter_n for_o of_o whosoever_o any_o man_n be_v overcome_v 19_o to_o he_o also_o in_o servitude_n be_v he_o addict_v here_o say_v e._n g._n the_o man_n that_o be_v in_o bondage_n must_v needs_o be_v distinct_a from_o his_o corrupt_a nature_n to_o who_o he_o be_v in_o bondage_n and_o out_o of_o the_o word_n overcome_v he_o gather_v that_o there_o must_v needs_o be_v a_o fight_n and_o resistance_n without_o which_o say_v he_o there_o can_v be_v no_o conquest_n nor_o victory_n this_o be_v but_o ungracious_a deal_n with_o the_o scripture_n peter_n speak_v not_o there_o neither_o of_o a_o mere_a natural_a man_n but_o of_o such_o as_o have_v a_o calling_n and_o reckon_n in_o the_o congregation_n of_o the_o faithful_a which_o because_o they_o bear_v the_o estimation_n of_o fight_v the_o lord_n battle_n together_o with_o his_o people_n though_o it_o be_v but_o in_o their_o own_o conceit_n if_o it_o have_v be_v lawful_a to_o have_v deal_v
