church_n heretofore_o those_o very_a performance_n to_o they_o be_v promise_n to_o we_o of_o the_o like_a succour_n in_o the_o like_a distress_n he_o will_v perform_v reperform_v multiply_v performance_n thereof_o upon_o we_o therefore_o be_v god_n call_v here_o the_o faithful_a god_n for_o that_o faithfulness_n imply_v a_o covenant_n make_v before_o and_o there_o enter_v his_o mercy_n that_o he_o will_v make_v that_o covenant_n and_o it_o imply_v also_o the_o assurance_n of_o the_o performance_n thereof_o and_o there_o enter_v his_o faithfulness_n so_o he_o be_v call_v by_o st._n peter_n 1_o pet._n 4._o a_o faithful_a creator_n he_o have_v a_o eternal_a gracious_a purpose_n upon_o we_o to_o create_v we_o and_o he_o have_v faithful_o accomplish_v it_o and_o so_o god_n whole_a word_n be_v call_v so_o often_o so_o very_o often_o a_o faithful_a witness_n a_o evidence_n that_o can_v deceive_v nor_o mislead_v we_o verse_n 13._o there_o be_v no_o man_n but_o he_o have_v more_o about_o he_o in_o his_o present_a engagement_n and_o obligation_n to_o god_n than_o he_o will_v be_v able_a to_o answer_v in_o his_o best_a service_n though_o he_o shall_v live_v out_o his_o eternity_n here_o and_o then_o add_v a_o christian_n reversion_n to_o his_o present_a possession_n and_o it_o may_v be_v read_v run_v that_o god_n be_v not_o behold_v to_o the_o creature_n for_o any_o work_n or_o service_n that_o be_v do_v to_o he_o and_o yet_o god_n be_v please_v here_o to_o promise_v these_o israelite_n that_o he_o will_v bless_v the_o fruit_n of_o their_o womb_n and_o the_o fruit_n of_o their_o land_n if_o they_o will_v hearken_v to_o his_o judgement_n and_o keep_v his_o commandment_n but_o then_o withal_o observe_v from_o hence_o that_o god_n first_o hint_n the_o service_n and_o then_o express_v the_o reward_n first_o he_o say_v in_o the_o foregoing_a verse_n if_o you_o will_v hearken_v to_o my_o judgement_n and_o keep_v they_o and_o then_o he_o grant_v the_o reward_n in_o this_o verse_n i_o will_v bless_v the_o fruit_n of_o thy_o womb_n and_o of_o thy_o land_n god_n will_v stand_v upon_o his_o own_o prerogative_n and_o his_o prerogative_n be_v to_o be_v but_o though_o god_n make_v many_o and_o large_a promise_n to_o those_o that_o serve_v he_o yet_o he_o never_o make_v any_o bargain_n with_o they_o and_o therefore_o in_o all_o the_o obedience_n that_o be_v do_v to_o god_n the_o christian_a must_v first_o eye_n the_o command_n and_o then_o the_o promise_n it_o be_v not_o deny_v but_o i_o may_v look_v upon_o the_o promise_n as_o a_o motive_n as_o a_o encouragement_n as_o a_o obligation_n as_o a_o occasion_n to_o duty_n and_o obedience_n but_o not_o as_o the_o end_n and_o cause_n and_o ground_n of_o my_o obedience_n i_o may_v have_v and_o as_o a_o man_n that_o have_v his_o bone_n fill_v with_o marrow_n and_o have_v abundance_n of_o good_a blood_n and_o fresh_a spirit_n in_o his_o body_n he_o can_v endure_v to_o go_v with_o less_o clothes_n than_o another_o because_o he_o be_v well_o line_v within_o so_o it_o be_v with_o a_o heart_n that_o have_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n he_o will_v go_v through_o difficulty_n and_o trouble_n and_o disease_n though_o outward_a comfort_n fail_v he_o verse_n 18._o as_o some_o schoolmaster_n have_v use_v that_o discipline_n to_o correct_v the_o child_n of_o great_a person_n who_o personal_a correction_n they_o find_v reason_n to_o forbear_v by_o correct_v other_o child_n in_o their_o name_n and_o in_o their_o sight_n and_o have_v wrought_v upon_o good_a
