one_o he_o leave_v it_o pure_o and_o sole_o to_o the_o flesh_n share_n which_o can_v indeed_o lust_n and_o desire_v evil_a thing_n even_o in_o regenerate_a man_n but_o be_v not_o able_a to_o prevail_v likewise_o for_o we_o must_v use_v those_o instrument_n which_o facilitate_v and_o dispose_v we_o for_o the_o virtue_n before_o the_o virtue_n will_v become_v our_o own_o and_o we_o must_v put_v in_o practice_n all_o the_o mean_n and_o preservative_n against_o any_o vice_n before_o we_o can_v in_o reason_n hope_v to_o conquer_v and_o avoid_v it_o if_o we_o will_v not_o be_v proud_a or_o peevish_a we_o must_v abstain_v from_o all_o the_o inlet_n to_o pride_n and_o peevishness_n and_o if_o we_o will_v be_v meek_a and_o humble_a we_o must_v not_o neglect_v the_o help_n and_o instrument_n promote_a meekness_n and_o humility_n for_o the_o help_n and_o the_o virtue_n must_v both_o go_v together_o so_o that_o if_o we_o neglect_v the_o one_o we_o shall_v certain_o miss_v of_o the_o other_o also_o when_o once_o we_o have_v neglect_v the_o mean_n of_o any_o virtue_n therefore_o we_o have_v part_v with_o our_o power_n of_o obtain_v it_o we_o have_v throw_v away_o our_o liberty_n in_o lose_v of_o our_o opportunity_n so_o that_o now_o our_o miss_v of_o it_o be_v not_o so_o much_o a_o matter_n of_o choice_n as_o of_o necessity_n we_o omit_v it_o and_o can_v help_v it_o because_o we_o neglect_v to_o use_v those_o mean_n whereby_o we_o shall_v have_v attain_v it_o and_o in_o sin_n of_o omission_n this_o be_v the_o great_a and_o special_a cause_n which_o put_v they_o without_o our_o power_n for_o we_o neglect_v the_o mean_n of_o do_v what_o we_o shall_v and_o after_o that_o it_o be_v not_o so_o true_o our_o free_a choice_n as_o our_o necessity_n that_o we_o omit_v it_o these_o than_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o our_o want_n of_o choice_n in_o the_o particular_a instance_n of_o sin_n whether_o of_o commission_n or_o of_o omission_n we_o do_v not_o choose_v that_o evil_n which_o we_o commit_v for_o want_v of_o considerateness_n and_o deliberation_n the_o freedom_n whereof_o be_v take_v away_o from_o we_o by_o drunkenness_n passionateness_n and_o a_o habit_n or_o custom_n of_o commit_v it_o and_o we_o do_v not_o choose_v the_o omission_n of_o some_o duty_n which_o we_o neglect_v for_o want_v of_o power_n whereof_o we_o have_v deprive_v ourselves_o through_o the_o neglect_n of_o those_o mean_n which_o be_v necessary_a to_o the_o performance_n of_o it_o so_o that_o both_o in_o do_v what_o be_v forbid_v and_o in_o neglect_v what_o be_v command_v upon_o these_o cause_n we_o do_v what_o for_o that_o present_a we_o can_v help_v for_o we_o do_v not_o choose_v because_o we_o can_v refuse_v it_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v not_o so_o much_o through_o choice_n as_o through_o necessity_n that_o we_o be_v involve_v in_o the_o transgression_n but_o although_o these_o sin_n be_v thus_o undeliberate_v in_o themselves_o and_o thus_o unchosen_a in_o their_o own_o particular_n yet_o shall_v we_o be_v punish_v for_o they_o as_o sure_o as_o if_o we_o have_v express_o choose_v they_o because_o they_o be_v all_o choose_v in_o their_o cause_n for_o we_o free_o and_o deliberate_o choose_v that_o which_o make_v they_o necessary_a and_o that_o be_v enough_o to_o make_v we_o answer_v for_o all_o those_o thing_n which_o we_o act_v under_o that_o necessity_n for_o as_o for_o a_o way_n of_o piety_n and_o obedience_n he_o have_v give_v we_o his_o own_o law_n for_o the_o way_n which_o we_o be_v to_o walk_v in_o and_o in_o that_o alone_a it_o be_v that_o we_o can_v escape_v death_n and_o obtain_v salvation_n nay_o so_o far_o be_v any_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n from_o shelter_v we_o under_o the_o service_n of_o any_o one_o sin_n that_o even_o that_o which_o may_v have_v the_o high_a pretence_n to_o it_o of_o all_o thing_n else_o whatsoever_o viz._n our_o very_a natural_a temper_n and_o inclination_n be_v no_o excuse_n to_o we_o if_o it_o make_v we_o continue_v in_o any_o disobedience_n if_o any_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n can_v be_v a_o just_a defence_n for_o the_o practice_n of_o any_o sin_n sure_o this_o must_v for_o our_o nature_n be_v not_o of_o our_o own_o choose_n and_o therefore_o its_o effect_n aught_o lest_o of_o all_o to_o be_v charge_v on_o we_o see_v they_o least_o of_o all_o proceed_v from_o we_o but_o be_v in_o great_a degree_n determine_v to_o our_o hand_n before_o we_o have_v any_o power_n either_o to_o will_v or_o to_o refuse_v they_o but_o such_o be_v the_o purity_n and_o strictness_n of_o christ_n gospel_n that_o it_o indispensable_o require_v we_o to_o conquer_v sin_n not_o only_a where_o it_o make_v no_o opposition_n but_o even_o where_o it_o have_v the_o great_a strength_n and_o the_o high_a force_n of_o all_o for_o if_o our_o very_a nature_n draw_v we_o on_o to_o disobey_v it_o enjoin_v we_o under_o all_o our_o hope_n of_o heaven_n not_o to_o submit_v to_o it_o but_o to_o 23._o strive_v against_o it_o so_o long_o till_o we_o vanquish_v and_o subdue_v it_o for_o if_o we_o will_v be_v judge_v to_o be_v christ_n disciple_n at_o the_o last_o day_n we_o must_v deny_v ourselves_o matth._n 16.24_o as_o we_o hope_v to_o live_v we_o must_v not_o perform_v and_o fulfil_v but_o kill_v and_o 3.5_o mortify_v those_o deed_n whereto_o we_o be_v hurry_v on_o by_o the_o temper_n of_o our_o body_n rom._n 8.13_o we_o must_v renounce_v and_o forsake_v all_o sin_n although_o never_o so_o dear_a and_o useful_a to_o we_o before_o christ_n gospel_n will_v acquit_v or_o he_o will_v save_v we_o if_o a_o lust_n so_o dear_a to_o thou_o as_o thy_o right_a eye_n offend_v thou_o or_o 〈◊〉_d cause_v thou_o to_o offend_v pluck_v it_o out_o say_v our_o saviour_n and_o cast_v it_o from_o thou_o or_o if_o one_o so_o useful_a to_o thou_o as_o thy_o right_a hand_n cut_v it_o off_o likewise_o and_o cast_v it_o from_o thou_o and_o that_o for_o no_o less_o reason_n than_o this_o because_o it_o be_v more_o profitable_a for_o thou_o that_o one_o of_o thy_o member_n shall_v in_o this_o
