rest_n holiness_n and_o blessedness_n that_o the_o holiness_n and_o blessedness_n of_o that_o day_n may_v be_v a_o pattern_n to_o we_o of_o the_o holiness_n and_o blessedness_n which_o be_v in_o god_n that_o we_o read_v therein_o the_o blessedness_n of_o god_n may_v set_v our_o whole_a heart_n &_o desire_n thereon_o and_o read_v therein_o the_o holiness_n of_o god_n may_v fit_v ourselves_o by_o holiness_n to_o his_o holiness_n which_o as_o it_o be_v inseparable_a from_o happiness_n in_o god_n so_o must_v it_o be_v also_o in_o all_o that_o will_v see_v good_a for_o nothing_o contrary_a or_o unlike_a to_o god_n may_v approach_v unto_o he_o thus_o the_o seven_o day_n crown_v by_o the_o employment_n of_o that_o day_n &_o the_o other_o six_o day_n leave_v unblessed_a by_o the_o work_n of_o those_o day_n by_o a_o manifest_a difference_n point_n unto_o we_o that_o the_o end_n and_o happiness_n of_o man_n be_v not_o to_o be_v seek_v in_o the_o work_n of_o the_o six_o day_n but_o in_o the_o runagate_n and_o not_o that_o his_o wisdom_n can_v devise_v what_o his_o goodness_n will_v have_v devise_v when_o man_n be_v dust_n this_o dust_n know_v not_o how_o it_o may_v be_v make_v man_n and_o when_o man_n be_v corrupt_v this_o corrupt_a man_n can_v conceive_v how_o he_o shall_v be_v restore_v yet_o let_v he_o with_o a_o little_a clearness_n behold_v this_o mystery_n of_o restore_v and_o he_o shall_v find_v it_o exceed_v suitable_a to_o every_o part_n of_o man_n misery_n he_o shall_v find_v it_o agreeable_a to_o a_o true_a justice_n a_o deep_a wisdom_n a_o infinite_a power_n a_o free_a mercy_n and_o a_o exact_a holiness_n this_o recovery_n of_o man_n be_v thus_o bestow_v on_o he_o when_o none_o can_v save_v we_o yea_o none_o can_v see_v how_o to_o be_v save_v god_n that_o make_v we_o stretch_v out_o his_o hand_n to_o save_v we_o and_o in_o the_o curse_n of_o the_o serpent_n bestow_v blessedness_n on_o man._n in_o one_o sentence_n god_n overthrow_v our_o overthrower_n set_v up_o a_o kingdom_n of_o glory_n but_o the_o while_o the_o true_o wise_a be_v force_v to_o know_v &_o confess_v that_o there_o be_v most_o glory_n and_o power_n where_o power_n work_v by_o infirmity_n it_o become_v weak_a man_n to_o seek_v for_o power_n to_o strengthen_v and_o abet_v he_o but_o it_o become_v best_a the_o almighty_a to_o seek_v weakness_n for_o the_o better_a manifestation_n of_o his_o power_n for_o god_n will_v have_v his_o glory_n evident_a and_o whole_a which_o be_v neither_o evident_a nor_o whole_a by_o join_v any_o thing_n that_o may_v share_v glory_n with_o he_o but_o that_o only_a which_o put_v away_o all_o glory_n from_o itself_o unto_o god_n it_o be_v a_o piece_n of_o man_n foolish_a wisdom_n to_o adorn_v the_o creator_n with_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o creature_n but_o it_o be_v god_n most_o true_a and_o high_a wisdom_n to_o give_v light_n unto_o darkness_n power_n to_o weakness_n glory_n to_o baseness_n it_o be_v the_o glory_n of_o the_o ourselves_o and_o all_o thing_n visible_a and_o look_v we_o up_o unto_o god_n lead_v we_o by_o god_n unto_o god_n and_o that_o by_o the_o service_n of_o man_n unite_v unto_o god_n in_o this_o man-god_n be_v the_o remedy_n of_o all_o whereof_o we_o can_v complain_v and_o the_o supply_n of_o all_o that_o we_o can_v desire_v so_o be_v he_o a_o refuge_n from_o misery_n a_o
while_o it_o be_v darkness_n and_o therefore_o from_o the_o justify_v &_o sanctify_v be_v that_o whole_o take_v away_o but_o sorrow_n sickness_n temporal_a death_n and_o all_o other_o outward_a evil_n may_v cease_v to_o be_v evil_n yea_o they_o may_v be_v turn_v into_o benefit_n and_o indeed_o be_v so_o by_o the_o excellence_n of_o he_o that_o dwell_v in_o us._n but_o yet_o our_o restorer_n cease_v he_o we_o must_v deal_v with_o he_o as_o with_o a_o physician_n now_o to_o be_v cure_v by_o a_o physician_n it_o be_v not_o enough_o only_a to_o believe_v that_o the_o physician_n can_v cure_v we_o nor_o that_o he_o will_v cure_v we_o but_o this_o confidence_n in_o the_o physician_n must_v work_v in_o we_o a_o willingness_n and_o resolution_n to_o take_v and_o admit_v his_o receipt_n by_o which_o he_o may_v cure_v us._n even_o so_o it_o be_v between_o christ_n and_o our_o sick_a soul_n it_o be_v not_o enough_o bare_o to_o think_v that_o christ_n can_v cure_v we_o or_o that_o he_o will_v cure_v we_o but_o our_o belief_n must_v open_v the_o mouth_n of_o our_o soul_n to_o receive_v his_o medicine_n give_v we_o in_o the_o cup_n of_o salvation_n this_o cup_n of_o salvation_n be_v the_o spirit_n by_o which_o he_o communicate_v to_o we_o his_o redemption_n his_o holiness_n his_o eternity_n therefore_o must_v we_o so_o believe_v that_o we_o receive_v christ_n for_o such_o only_a as_o receive_v he_o have_v the_o prerogative_n to_o be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n so_o must_v we_o believe_v that_o we_o be_v baptize_v with_o the_o holy_a ghost_n for_o those_o only_o who_o be_v so_o baptize_v shall_v be_v save_v and_o if_o we_o thus_o believe_v he_o who_o never_o send_v away_o any_o uncured_a of_o their_o corporal_a infirmity_n that_o seek_v he_o here_o on_o earth_n sure_o he_o will_v not_o deny_v his_o save_a health_n to_o any_o believe_a soul_n that_o thus_o hearty_o thirst_v after_o he_o sit_v in_o heaven_n for_o the_o spiritual_a physic_n be_v christ_n true_a &_o most_o proper_a profession_n and_o the_o cure_n of_o body_n be_v especial_o to_o draw_v our_o faith_n thereby_o to_o behold_v believe_v &_o receive_v his_o cure_n of_o soul_n therefore_o especial_o you_o sick_a soul_n be_v of_o good_a comfort_n for_o you_o the_o master_n call_v especial_o but_o when_o you_o come_v to_o he_o remember_v that_o you_o desire_v to_o be_v cure_v of_o the_o whole_a spiritual_a malady_n even_o of_o sin_n and_o of_o sinfulness_n of_o the_o corruption_n of_o sin_n as_o well_o as_o of_o the_o guilt_n and_o misery_n that_o follow_v it_o for_o christ_n will_v enter_v into_o none_o to_o cure_v the_o death_n of_o sin_n but_o withal_o he_o will_v give_v death_n unto_o sin_n neither_o will_v he_o by_o his_o spirit_n give_v any_o one_o the_o life_n of_o glory_n to_o who_o by_o the_o same_o spirit_n he_o do_v not_o first_o give_v the_o life_n of_o piety_n chap._n ii_o how_o a_o man_n may_v get_v this_o faculty_n which_o unit_v man_n to_o god_n but_o man_n be_v brutish_a and_o sensual_a both_o in_o understanding_n &_o will_n and_o so_o it_o be_v impossible_a for_o he_o while_o he_o be_v such_o to_o discern_v a_o spiritual_a happiness_n and_o the_o mean_n of_o attain_v it_o and_o much_o more_o hard_a it_o be_v to_o esteem_v and_o love_v the_o one_o or_o other_o he_o believe_v that_o which_o he_o see_v &_o he_o love_v that_o which_o he_o taste_v and_o feel_v but_o his_o gross_a palate_n do_v not_o relish_v this_o celestial_a and_o unpalpable_a happiness_n therefore_o man_n must_v be_v lift_v up_o above_o this_o low_a estate_n of_o sensual_a and_o carnal_a knowledge_n and_o to_o effect_v this_o there_o need_v a_o second_o hand_n of_o the_o first_o
increase_v our_o glory_n we_o must_v strive_v to_o increase_v our_o holiness_n and_o by_o holiness_n and_o other_o help_v advance_v and_o support_v holiness_n to_o in_o crease_n comfort_n and_o cherish_v the_o spirit_n by_o which_o both_o holiness_n and_o glory_n may_v be_v increase_v now_o to_o know_v what_o these_o help_n be_v we_o must_v seek_v in_o the_o oracle_n of_o god_n who_o office_n and_o main_n purpose_n be_v to_o shine_v as_o a_o light_n to_o mankind_n that_o stand_v in_o the_o dark_a place_n of_o a_o cloud_a and_o corrupt_a soul_n and_o to_o guide_v their_o foot_n into_o the_o way_n of_o peace_n and_o rest._n this_o sure_a word_n of_o god_n be_v give_v by_o god_n unto_o man_n to_o direct_v man_n unto_o god_n and_o to_o effect_v this_o it_o have_v a_o power_n to_o make_v the_o child_n of_o man_n the_o son_n of_o god_n yea_o it_o have_v a_o power_n to_o nourish_v this_o spiritual_a and_o heavenly_a sonship_n &_o so_o bestow_v a_o gift_n of_o growth_n as_o well_o as_o a_o gift_n of_o life_n for_o it_o cause_v the_o son_n and_o heir_n of_o god_n to_o grow_v unto_o their_o perfect_a stature_n of_o grace_n &_o glory_n the_o great_a spirit_n of_o god_n work_v towards_o the_o increase_n of_o our_o spiritual_a estate_n by_o heavenly_a traffic_n and_o merchandise_n that_o the_o talent_n of_o grace_n be_v increase_v may_v increase_v the_o talent_n of_o glory_n but_o now_o perchance_o it_o will_v be_v demand_v what_o these_o help_n be_v by_o which_o the_o man_n of_o god_n may_v enlarge_v his_o stature_n and_o grow_v up_o to_o his_o head_n christ_n jesus_n for_o satisfaction_n to_o which_o demand_n i_o will_v point_v he_o to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n which_o be_v the_o treasure_n of_o the_o perfect_a knowledge_n of_o this_o art_n of_o felicity_n but_o yet_o to_o give_v some_o stay_n to_o hungry_a soul_n that_o present_o desire_v the_o prosperity_n of_o the_o spirit_n &_o will_v not_o be_v delay_v i_o may_v name_v some_o of_o the_o chief_a seal_n of_o his_o word_n we_o can_v choose_v if_o we_o be_v spiritual_a but_o we_o must_v plain_o look_v on_o christ_n himself_o for_o the_o word_n of_o christ_n be_v the_o image_n of_o christ_n he_o have_v stamp_v on_o it_o his_o own_o likeness_n and_o therein_o we_o may_v see_v he_o bear_v live_a teach_v die_a &_o rise_v again_o therein_o may_v we_o behold_v his_o grace_n and_o gift_n his_o excellency_n and_o dignity_n his_o love_n unto_o man_n and_o his_o labour_n for_o men._n the_o sacrament_n also_o christ_n have_v imprint_v with_o his_o own_o resemblance_n and_o they_o be_v the_o
