garment_n what_o will_v they_o be_v able_a to_o say_v in_o their_o excuse_n will_v they_o not_o be_v like_o he_o in_o the_o parable_n confound_v and_o ashamed_a and_o utter_o speechless_a what_o most_o bless_a example_n and_o obey_v all_o his_o holy_a precept_n and_o submit_v to_o the_o disposal_n of_o his_o providence_n cheerful_o and_o bear_v unspotted_a love_n and_o fidelity_n to_o he_o through_o the_o whole_a course_n of_o our_o life_n and_o by_o this_o mean_n shall_v we_o be_v reckon_v among_o his_o choice_a jewel_n elect_v and_o precious_a and_o be_v receive_v into_o the_o near_a our_o lord_n in_o the_o conclusion_n of_o this_o parable_n for_o you_o know_v neither_o the_o day_n nor_o the_o hour_n when_o the_o son_n of_o man_n come_v in_o my_o discourse_n upon_o this_o always_o ready_a and_o prepare_v by_o a_o holy_a life_n to_o attend_v the_o call_v of_o christ_n whenever_o he_o shall_v summon_v he_o out_o of_o this_o world_n by_o death_n in_o order_n to_o his_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n be_v questionless_a the_o nourishment_n of_o the_o divine_a life_n and_o which_o if_o once_o withdraw_v will_v leave_v the_o soul_n dead_a in_o trespass_n and_o sin_n now_o a_o obstinate_a course_n of_o disobedience_n to_o the_o divine_a will_n drive_v out_o that_o life-giving_a power_n and_o make_v the_o soul_n uncapable_a of_o vital_a union_n with_o so_o pure_a a_o spirit_n and_o as_o a_o humane_a soul_n be_v force_v to_o leave_v a_o body_n rot_a and_o waste_v and_o unapt_a any_o long_o to_o entertain_v it_o so_o this_o divine_a spirit_n be_v thrust_v out_o from_o a_o corrupt_a sinful_a soul_n and_o consequent_o there_o must_v be_v a_o famine_n in_o that_o soul_n of_o that_o heavenly_a bread_n which_o be_v absolute_o necessary_a to_o eternal_a life_n and_o the_o consequence_n of_o that_o be_v eternal_a death_n and_o certain_o no_o man_n that_o consider_v what_o a_o dismal_a condition_n that_o soul_n be_v in_o which_o be_v reduce_v to_o such_o extremity_n of_o spiritual_a want_n as_o this_o how_o full_a of_o horror_n and_o despair_n as_o doom_v to_o endless_a misery_n and_o seal_v up_o to_o destruction_n which_o he_o see_v daily_o near_o and_o near_o approach_v and_o no_o way_n to_o escape_v but_o like_o a_o wretch_n immure_v between_o two_o wall_n there_o to_o be_v starve_v to_o death_n in_o continual_a expectation_n of_o her_o sad_a end_n no_o man_n that_o consider_v this_o with_o that_o seriousness_n he_o ought_v but_o will_v be_v very_o careful_a not_o to_o waste_v what_o be_v so_o necessary_a to_o his_o spiritual_a subsistence_n i._n e._n by_o no_o mean_n grieve_v or_o resist_v or_o quench_v that_o life-giving_a spirit_n by_o who_o all_o true_a religion_n live_v and_o move_v and_o have_v its_o be_v and_o which_o if_o neglect_v and_o oppose_v will_v be_v withdraw_v and_o that_o perhaps_o for_o ever_o if_o like_a esau_n we_o sell_v this_o inestimable_a blessing_n for_o a_o mess_n of_o pottage_n forfeit_v the_o food_n of_o our_o soul_n that_o we_o may_v indulge_v our_o sensual_a appetite_n we_o may_v fear_v that_o a_o spiritual_a famine_n will_v be_v our_o punishment_n and_o no_o place_n leave_v for_o repentance_n no_o blessing_n remain_v for_o we_o though_o we_o seek_v it_o earnest_o with_o tear_n as_o the_o prodigal_n in_o the_o parable_n when_o after_o he_o have_v waste_v his_o substance_n in_o riotous_a live_n and_o then_o want_v and_o be_v ready_a to_o perish_v with_o hunger_n so_o that_o he_o will_v have_v be_v glad_a of_o the_o mean_a and_o coarse_a fare_n will_v fain_o have_v fill_v his_o belly_n with_o the_o husk_n that_o the_o swine_n do_v eat_v even_o that_o he_o can_v not_o obtain_v for_o no_o man_n say_v the_o parable_n give_v unto_o he_o another_o ill_a consequence_n of_o believe_v and_o the_o thing_n he_o be_v to_o do_v be_v so_o excellent_a in_o themselves_o and_o so_o conducive_a to_o entire_a happiness_n both_o here_o and_o hereafter_o that_o no_o man_n that_o due_o consider_v and_o attend_v to_o either_o but_o will_v be_v powerful_o incline_v to_o assent_v to_o the_o one_o and_o practice_v the_o other_o and_o be_v no_o long_o a_o infidel_n or_o heretic_n or_o live_v a_o vicious_a irreligious_a life_n it_o be_v consideration_n make_v the_o prodigal_a son_n resolve_v to_o return_v to_o his_o father_n and_o humble_v himself_o before_o he_o and_o can_v the_o sinner_n of_o this_o age_n be_v persuade_v serious_o to_o consider_v and_o weigh_v thing_n together_o they_o will_v soon_o see_v reason_n enough_o to_o convince_v they_o that_o it_o be_v their_o of_o my_o father_n hire_a servant_n have_v bread_n enough_o and_o to_o spare_v and_o i_o perish_v with_o hunger_n he_o find_v by_o a_o woeful_a experience_n that_o however_o uneasy_a it_o be_v to_o he_o former_o to_o be_v under_o his_o father_n eye_n and_o in_o subjection_n to_o his_o command_n it_o be_v by_o far_o a_o happy_a condition_n than_o that_o which_o by_o his_o prodigality_n he_o be_v empty_a and_o unsatisfy_a but_o likewise_o vexation_n of_o spirit_n full_a of_o trouble_n and_o misfortune_n attend_v with_o shame_n and_o disgrace_n inward_a remorse_n and_o gripe_n of_o conscience_n and_o dire_a forboding_n of_o the_o wrath_n to_o come_v and_o this_o will_v soon_o convince_v he_o of_o the_o much_o great_a happiness_n of_o obedience_n and_o submission_n to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n for_o that_o have_v none_o of_o all_o this_o misery_n but_o peace_n of_o conscience_n inward_a contentment_n and_o satisfaction_n of_o mind_n and_o the_o comfortable_a expectation_n of_o eternal_a happiness_n in_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n and_o the_o conclusion_n of_o such_o consideration_n will_v be_v his_o resolution_n to_o arise_v and_o go_v to_o his_o heavenly_a father_n and_o with_o much_o humility_n and_o sincere_a contrition_n say_v unto_o he_o father_n i_o have_v sin_v against_o heaven_n and_o before_o thou_o and_o be_o no_o more_o worthy_a to_o be_v call_v thy_o son_n sufficient_a to_o amendment_n of_o life_n we_o must_v act_v agreeable_o and_o that_o immediate_o too_o or_o else_o our_o resolution_n though_o never_o so_o earnest_o make_v will_v vanish_v into_o nothing_o and_o the_o breach_n of_o they_o still_o more_o increase_v our_o gild_n for_o when_o a_o man_n have_v proceed_v so_o far_o towards_o a_o new_a life_n as_o to_o resolve_v to_o forsake_v every_o evil_a way_n and_o no_o long_o to_o insist_v in_o his_o former_a vile_a course_n it_o be_v a_o sign_n that_o his_o soul_n be_v rouse_v and_o awaken_v from_o its_o spiritual_a sleep_n that_o his_o eye_n be_v open_v and_o that_o he_o discern_v his_o error_n and_o if_o after_o all_o this_o he_o still_o persist_v in_o it_o he_o then_o sin_n against_o clear_a light_n and_o knowledge_n which_o be_v the_o high_a aggravation_n of_o a_o fault_n as_o a_o sinner_n therefore_o shall_v as_o soon_o as_o he_o be_v become_v sensible_a of_o his_o sin_n immediate_o resolve_v to_o forsake_v it_o and_o return_v to_o his_o obedience_n to_o god_n so_o must_v he_o immediate_o put_v his_o resolution_n into_o practice_n for_o otherwise_o he_o do_v but_o mock_n god_n and_o deceive_v his_o own_o soul_n and_o will_v only_o increase_v his_o damnation_n a_o well-grounded_n resolution_n be_v a_o good_a preparative_a to_o amendment_n but_o it_o be_v but_o a_o preparative_a and_o to_o resolve_v to_o do_v a_o thing_n and_o actual_o to_o do_v it_o be_v two_o very_a different_a thing_n we_o all_o of_o we_o i_o hope_v that_o pretend_v to_o be_v christian_n so_o far_o consider_v as_o to_o grieve_v and_o be_v ashamed_a for_o have_v offend_v our_o good_a god_n and_o be_v at_o that_o instant_n resolve_v never_o willing_o to_o transgress_v his_o holy_a will_n again_o let_v we_o but_o keep_v our_o resolution_n and_o we_o shall_v be_v happy_a for_o such_o as_o with_o the_o prodigal_n actual_o return_v to_o their_o heavenly_a father_n and_o humble_v themselves_o before_o he_o he_o be_v ready_a with_o the_o great_a expression_n of_o kindness_n to_o receive_v to_o his_o favour_n which_o bring_v i_o to_o the_o last_o thing_n express_v in_o this_o parable_n viz._n the_o great_a tenderness_n and_o compassion_n of_o the_o father_n of_o spirit_n to_o such_o as_o repent_v in_o earnest_n and_o perform_v their_o resolve_n of_o amendment_n his_o readiness_n to_o be_v reconcile_v to_o they_o and_o extraordinary_a joy_n for_o their_o return_n because_o they_o be_v dead_a but_o be_v alive_a again_o be_v lose_v but_o be_v find_v for_o so_o it_o be_v say_v in_o the_o parable_n that_o when_o the_o return_v prodigal_a be_v yet_o a_o great_a way_n off_o his_o father_n see_v he_o and_o have_v compassion_n and_o run_v and_o fall_v on_o his_o neck_n and_o kiss_v he_o and_o say_v to_o his_o
