spirit_n in_o this_o life_n receive_v some_o comfort_n and_o get_v some_o stay_n of_o god_n his_o mercy_n by_o know_v the_o cause_n of_o the_o trouble_n all_o cause_n may_v i_o not_o here_o recite_v but_o two_o or_o three_o of_o the_o principal_n will_v i_o touch_v the_o first_o be_v to_o provoke_v in_o god_n his_o elect_a a_o haâ—â—ed_v of_o sin_n and_o unfeigned_o repentance_n of_o the_o same_o 〈◊〉_d the_o which_o cause_n if_o it_o be_v right_o consider_v be_v sufficient_a to_o make_v all_o spiritual_a and_o corporal_a trouble_n tolerable_a unto_o us._n for_o see_v it_o be_v so_o that_o without_o repentance_n no_o man_n do_v attain_v to_o god_n his_o mercy_n for_o it_o be_v now_o appoint_v by_o he_o who_o wisdom_n be_v infinite_a i_o mean_v of_o those_o that_o be_v convert_v to_o the_o feel_n of_o sin_n and_o that_o without_o mercy_n no_o man_n can_v come_v to_o joy_n be_v not_o that_o which_o cause_v we_o to_o understand_v what_o repentance_n be_v glad_o to_o be_v receive_v and_o embrace_v repentance_n contain_v within_o it_o a_o knowledge_n of_o sin_n a_o dolour_n for_o it_o and_o a_o hatred_n of_o it_o together_o with_o hope_n of_o mercy_n it_o be_v very_o evident_a that_o god_n his_o own_o child_n have_v not_o at_o all_o time_n the_o right_a knowledge_n of_o sin_n that_o be_v to_o say_v how_o odious_a it_o be_v before_o god_n much_o less_o have_v they_o the_o dolour_n of_o it_o &_o hatred_n of_o it_o which_o if_o they_o have_v as_o they_o can_v not_o sin_n so_o can_v they_o never_o be_v able_a have_v that_o same_o very_a sense_n of_o god_n his_o wrath_n against_o sin_n to_o delight_v in_o any_o thing_n that_o appertain_v to_o the_o flesh_n more_o than_o the_o woman_n who_o god_n have_v appoint_v by_o the_o help_n of_o man_n to_o produce_v mankind_n can_v ever_o delight_v in_o man_n if_o at_o all_o time_n she_o feel_v the_o same_o pang_n of_o dolour_n and_o pain_n that_o she_o do_v in_o her_o childebyrth_n and_o therefore_o do_v god_n for_o such_o purpose_n as_o be_v know_v to_o himself_o sometime_o suspend_v from_o his_o own_o child_n this_o fore_n say_v sense_n and_o feel_n of_o his_o wrath_n against_o sin_n as_o no_o doubt_n here_o he_o do_v with_o david_n not_o only_o before_o his_o sin_n but_o also_o sometime_o after_o but_o least_o the_o son_n of_o god_n shall_v become_v altogether_o insolent_a like_o the_o child_n of_o the_o world_n he_o send_v unto_o they_o some_o portion_n of_o this_o foresay_a cup_n in_o drink_v whereof_o they_o come_v to_o such_o knowledge_n as_o they_o never_o have_v before_o for_o first_o they_o feel_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n work_v against_o sin_n whereby_o they_o learn_v the_o justice_n of_o god_n to_o be_v even_o such_o as_o he_o himself_o pronounce_v that_o he_o may_v suffer_v no_o sin_n torment_n and_o those_o most_o grievous_a as_o they_o mourn_v and_o by_o god_n his_o holy_a spirit_n begin_v to_o hate_v sin_n so_o come_v they_o also_o to_o a_o more_o high_a knowledge_n that_o be_v that_o man_n can_v be_v saviour_n to_o himself_o for_o how_o shall_v he_o save_v himself_o from_o hell_n that_o can_v save_v himself_o from_o anguish_n and_o trouble_n here_o in_o the_o flesh_n while_o he_o yet_o have_v strength_n wit_n reason_n and_o understanding_n and_o therefore_o must_v he_o be_v compel_v in_o his_o heart_n to_o acknowledge_v that_o there_o be_v another_o mediator_n between_o god_n his_o justice_n and_o mankind_n than_o any_o that_o ever_o descend_v of_o the_o corrupt_a state_n of_o adam_n yea_o then_o any_o creature_n that_o only_o be_v a_o creature_n and_o by_o the_o knowledge_n of_o this_o mediator_n at_o the_o last_o the_o afflict_a come_v by_o some_o sense_n and_o lively_a feel_n of_o god_n his_o great_a mercy_n declare_v unto_o mankind_n albeit_o they_o be_v not_o so_o sensible_a as_o be_v the_o pain_n and_o albeit_o that_o torment_n by_o this_o knowledge_n be_v not_o hasty_o remove_v yet_o have_v the_o patient_a some_o hope_n that_o all_o dolour_n shall_v have_v end_n and_o that_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o he_o sob_v and_o grow_v for_o a_o end_n of_o pain_n why_o also_o he_o blaspheme_v not_o god_n but_o cry_v for_o his_o health_n even_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o his_o anguish_n how_o profitable_a this_o be_v to_o the_o child_n of_o god_n and_o what_o it_o work_v in_o they_o as_o the_o plain_a scripture_n teach_v so_o experience_n let_v we_o understande_v very_o even_o so_o profitable_a as_o it_o be_v to_o mourn_v for_o sin_n to_o hate_v the_o same_o to_o know_v the_o mediator_n betwixt_o god_n and_o man_n and_o final_o to_o know_v his_o love_a mercy_n towards_o they_o so_o necessary_a be_v it_o to_o drink_v this_o foresay_a cup_n what_o it_o work_v in_o they_o none_o know_v but_o such_o as_o taste_v it_o in_o david_n it_o be_v plain_a that_o it_o wrought_v humility_n and_o abjection_n of_o himself_o it_o take_v from_o he_o the_o great_a trust_n he_o have_v in_o himself_o it_o make_v he_o daily_o to_o fear_n and_o earnest_o puff_v up_o that_o they_o forget_v god_n without_o any_o care_n that_o trouble_n shall_v follow_v and_o in_o adversity_n they_o be_v so_o deject_v that_o they_o look_v for_o nothing_o buâ—_n hell_n long_o i_o do_v escape_v it_o what_o move_v i_o to_o refuse_v and_o that_o with_o displeasure_n of_o all_o man_n even_o of_o those_o that_o best_o love_v i_o those_o high_a promotion_n that_o be_v offer_v by_o he_o who_o god_n have_v take_v from_o we_o for_o our_o offence_n assure_o the_o foresight_n of_o trouble_n to_o come_v how_o oft_o have_v i_o say_v unto_o you_o that_o the_o time_n will_v not_o be_v long_o that_o england_n will_v give_v i_o bread_n advise_v with_o the_o last_o letter_n that_o i_o write_v unto_o your_o brother_n in_o law_n &_o consider_v what_o be_v therein_o contain_v
