be_v in_o danger_n to_o be_v spoil_v of_o the_o same_o it_o be_v also_o a_o great_a torment_n and_o increase_v of_o heaviness_n to_o her_o mind_n to_o consider_v that_o her_o dear_a spouse_n and_o lord_n who_o be_v wont_v afore_o to_o visit_v and_o comfort_v she_o oftentimes_o seem_v now_o as_o though_o he_o have_v utter_o forsake_v she_o and_o will_v no_o more_o relieve_v and_o succour_v she_o in_o her_o distress_n although_o for_o her_o part_n she_o do_v what_o in_o she_o lay_v knock_v at_o the_o gate_n of_o his_o mercy_n with_o continual_a prayer_n tear_n and_o hard_a discipline_n upon_o her_o body_n and_o when_o she_o see_v that_o he_o make_v no_o answer_n she_o begin_v to_o devise_v a_o certain_a new_a manner_n of_o sleight_n to_o encounter_v with_o the_o enemy_n how_o be_v it_o not_o without_o the_o secret_a instincte_n of_o god_n which_o be_v this_o she_o conceive_v a_o marvelous_a great_a mislike_v of_o herself_o and_o against_o her_o own_o sin_n and_o so_o turn_v her_o indignation_n as_o it_o be_v against_o herself_o she_o utter_v such_o word_n ah_o most_o vile_a wretch_n look_v thou_o to_o receive_v comfort_n think_v thou_o that_o thy_o sin_n have_v deserve_v it_o christ_n by_o this_o may_v thou_o try_v whether_o thou_o have_v choose_v to_o serve_v god_n for_o these_o temporal_a visitation_n and_o comfort_n or_o else_o in_o hope_n of_o that_o everlasting_a bless_v and_o joyful_a fruition_n of_o himself_o in_o the_o life_n to_o come_v a_o wake_v therefore_o take_v a_o good_a hart_n fight_v manful_o and_o expecte_v with_o patience_n the_o good_a will_n and_o pleasure_n of_o god_n now_o be_v the_o time_n for_o thou_o to_o increase_v to_o thyself_o labour_n and_o pain_n and_o to_o his_o holy_a name_n honour_n and_o glory_n it_o can_v not_o be_v express_v in_o word_n how_o much_o she_o be_v strengthen_v in_o soul_n by_o this_o mean_a and_o contrariwise_o how_o much_o the_o proud_a enemy_n be_v by_o the_o same_o confownd_v and_o weaken_v she_o confess_v afterwards_o to_o her_o ghostly_a father_n that_o there_o be_v such_o a_o rabble_n of_o those_o foul_a fiend_n at_o that_o time_n in_o her_o chamber_n move_v her_o diverse_a and_o sundry_a way_n to_o uncleanness_n that_o she_o be_v enforce_v for_o a_o time_n to_o flee_v from_o her_o chamber_n to_o the_o church_n and_o there_o to_o keep_v more_o than_o she_o be_v wont_a to_o do_v how_o be_v it_o even_o in_o the_o church_n also_o she_o be_v molest_v think_v not_o so_o much_o as_o before_o in_o her_o chamber_n whether_o when_o she_o return_v afterwards_o she_o be_v again_o so_o beset_v with_o such_o a_o company_n of_o unclean_a spirit_n represent_v there_o before_o she_o so_o many_o act_n of_o filthiness_n and_o that_o with_o so_o great_a importunity_n and_o strange_a manner_n that_o it_o be_v a_o very_a miracle_n how_o she_o be_v able_a to_o sustain_v the_o same_o but_o she_o forth_o with_o fall_v down_o to_o the_o earth_n &_o there_o lie_v grovel_v on_o her_o face_n in_o prayer_n beseech_v god_n of_o his_o mercy_n with_o such_o mighty_a sigh_n and_o groan_n that_o in_o contemplation_n of_o her_o pitiful_a cry_n he_o somewhat_o assuage_v the_o fury_n of_o those_o foul_a fiend_n and_o so_o continue_v in_o such_o affliction_n and_o trouble_n a_o great_a number_n of_o day_n at_o the_o length_n when_o at_o a_o time_n come_v from_o the_o church_n and_o lie_v after_o such_o a_o manner_n in_o her_o chamber_n she_o make_v her_o earnest_a prayer_n unto_o god_n crave_v his_o merciful_a aid_n and_o assistance_n there_o appear_v a_o certain_a comfortable_a beam_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n which_o bring_v unto_o her_o remembrance_n the_o goodly_a lesson_n that_o our_o lord_n have_v thaught_v she_o before_o when_o she_o pray_v unto_o he_o for_o the_o gift_n of_o fortitude_n and_o so_o understand_v that_o all_o that_o be_v there_o do_v be_v only_o the_o tentation_n of_o the_o enemy_n she_o receive_v great_a joy_n in_o her_o hart_n and_o determine_v contrariwise_o they_o be_v put_v in_o great_a doubt_n and_o perplexity_n by_o reason_n of_o the_o thing_n that_o she_o do_v among_o other_o that_o cast_v such_o doubt_n be_v doctor_n raimundus_n her_o ghostly_a father_n a_o great_a learned_a and_o wise_a man_n who_o at_o the_o beginning_a of_o his_o familiarity_n with_o she_o can_v not_o resolve_v whether_o those_o wonderful_a thing_n that_o he_o hear_v and_o see_v in_o she_o be_v true_a or_o counterfeicte_n and_o whether_o they_o proceed_v of_o god_n or_o of_o the_o devel_n while_o he_o stand_v thus_o in_o doubt_n and_o have_v a_o great_a desire_n to_o be_v resolve_v in_o the_o matter_n because_o it_o stand_v he_o upon_o be_v her_o ghostly_a father_n neither_o to_o deceive_v nor_o to_o be_v deceive_v but_o to_o judge_v aright_o of_o spirit_n it_o come_v to_o his_o mind_n that_o if_o he_o can_v by_o her_o mean_n and_o intercession_n obtain_v for_o himself_o a_o true_a contrition_n of_o all_o his_o sin_n such_o as_o he_o never_o have_v before_o together_o with_o a_o perfect_v sorrow_n for_o the_o same_o and_o earnest_a desire_n to_o make_v a_o full_a satisfaction_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n and_o that_o he_o may_v perceive_v sensible_o that_o all_o that_o come_v to_o he_o by_o her_o mean_n he_o will_v take_v that_o for_o a_o most_o certain_a and_o infallible_a token_n that_o whatsoever_o she_o have_v do_v be_v the_o work_n of_o god_n and_o not_o of_o satan_n transfigure_v himself_o into_o a_o angel_n of_o light_n and_o this_o trial_n like_v he_o very_o well_o because_o be_v learn_v in_o the_o study_n of_o divinity_n he_o know_v that_o the_o devel_n can_v not_o possible_o be_v the_o author_n of_o true_a contrition_n
but_o she_o affirm_v constant_o that_o so_o it_o be_v and_o for_o confirmation_n of_o the_o same_o declare_v how_o our_o saviour_n have_v take_v it_o out_o with_o his_o own_o hand_n all_o the_o which_o talk_v persuade_v he_o nothing_o at_o all_o how_o be_v it_o possible_a say_v he_o that_o any_o man_n shall_v live_v without_o a_o hart_n you_o say_v true_o father_n say_v she_o unto_o man_n
