save_v the_o tent_n of_o judah_n first_o that_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o house_n of_o david_n and_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o jerusalem_n do_v not_o magnify_v themselves_o against_o judah_n verse_n 8._o in_o that_o day_n shall_v the_o lord_n defend_v the_o inhabitant_n of_o jerusalem_n and_o he_o that_o be_v feeble_a among_o they_o at_o that_o day_n shall_v be_v as_o david_n angel_n of_o the_o covenant_n who_o go_v before_o the_o people_n in_o their_o deliverance_n out_o of_o egypt_n exod._n 14.19_o and_o 23.23_o so_o he_o promise_v to_o prove_v himself_o the_o same_o again_o doct._n 1._o the_o lord_n will_v so_o have_v a_o care_n of_o all_o his_o people_n as_o however_o he_o see_v meet_v to_o humble_v some_o of_o they_o at_o some_o time_n and_o to_o delay_v his_o help_n till_o they_o be_v humble_v yet_o it_o be_v not_o his_o purpose_n to_o deny_v they_o altogether_o therefore_o be_v the_o promise_n make_v particular_o to_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o jerusalem_n and_o david_n house_n to_o show_v that_o however_o he_o will_v prefer_v judabâ—_n tent_n to_o they_o in_o the_o matter_n of_o speedy_a help_n yet_o he_o will_v not_o reject_v they_o in_o that_o day_n shall_v the_o lord_n defend_v the_o inhabitant_n of_o jerusalem_n etc._n etc._n 2._o the_o lord_n protection_n be_v the_o sure_a safeguard_n of_o his_o church_n beyond_o any_o thing_n they_o get_v strength_n to_o do_v themselves_o yea_o it_o be_v the_o strength_n of_o their_o strength_n to_o abide_v under_o his_o shadow_n with_o it_o therefore_o be_v the_o promise_n of_o defence_n premit_v to_o david_n etc._n etc._n 3._o however_o the_o lord_n may_v keep_v his_o people_n in_o a_o low_a &_o weak_a condition_n for_o their_o exercise_n yet_o he_o have_v undertake_v to_o let_v out_o proof_n of_o his_o strength_n in_o they_o in_o a_o time_n of_o need_n in_o a_o singular_a way_n and_o will_v make_v their_o weakness_n in_o themselves_o a_o presage_n of_o their_o be_v strengthen_v in_o he_o he_o that_o be_v feeble_a among_o they_o at_o that_o day_n shall_v be_v as_o david_n 4._o none_o do_v attain_v in_o this_o life_n to_o that_o measure_n of_o strength_n and_o courage_n but_o they_o do_v yet_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o more_o and_o aught_o to_o be_v on_o the_o grow_a hand_n for_o the_o house_n of_o david_n need_v a_o promise_n of_o this_o as_o well_o as_o the_o feeble_a 5._o as_o christ_n will_v be_v unto_o his_o church_n in_o her_o need_n whatever_o he_o have_v be_v unto_o she_o at_o any_o time_n so_o what_o christ_n be_v that_o be_v believer_n in_o he_o their_o head_n as_o they_o need_v it_o all_o fullness_n dwell_v in_o he_o for_o their_o behoof_n for_o as_o christ_n have_v be_v as_o on_o angel_n of_o god_n before_o that_o people_n so_o will_v he_o be_v yet_o and_o the_o house_n of_o david_n so_o in_o he_o verse_n 9_o and_o it_o shall_v come_v to_o pass_v in_o that_o day_n that_o i_o will_v seek_v to_o destroy_v all_o the_o nation_n that_o come_v against_o jerusalem_n in_o the_o seven_o promise_n god_n purpose_n of_o destroy_v the_o church_n enemy_n be_v repear_v and_o confirm_v that_o though_o they_o be_v never_o so_o many_o yet_o god_n will_v destroy_v they_o and_o will_v be_v serious_a in_o effectuate_a it_o seek_v out_o secret_a plotter_n as_o well_o as_o open_a enemy_n or_o seek_v they_o out_o after_o they_o be_v scatter_v and_o their_o be_v break_v yet_o remain_v enemy_n for_o there_o be_v a_o all_o of_o the_o nation_n that_o come_v against_o jerusalem_n 2._o albeit_o some_o who_o persecute_v and_o oppose_v the_o church_n of_o god_n may_v find_v mercy_n to_o come_v and_o join_v with_o she_o and_o be_v save_v yet_o for_o the_o most_o part_n it_o be_v a_o token_n of_o so_o much_o displeasure_n and_o so_o many_o former_a controversy_n against_o man_n when_o they_o be_v leâ—t_v to_o themselves_o to_o be_v persecutor_n that_o their_o destruction_n only_o will_v end_v it_o i_o will_v destroy_v all_o the_o nation_n etc._n etc._n be_v the_o ordinary_a issue_n of_o their_o be_v enemy_n 3._o the_o lord_n be_v not_o slack_a or_o remiss_a in_o avenge_a injury_n do_v to_o the_o church_n but_o will_v do_v it_o as_o effectual_o as_o man_n do_v their_o most_o serious_a affair_n when_o they_o bend_v their_o wit_n to_o devise_v mean_n to_o câ—rry_v it_o well_o on_o and_o do_v pursue_v it_o to_o the_o uttermost_a token_n of_o god_n favour_n to_o they_o for_o there_o be_v a_o spi_n it_o of_o supplication_n who_o also_o be_v give_v for_o that_o end_n be_v the_o spirit_n of_o grace_n 3._o as_o all_o that_o any_o do_v by_o way_n of_o duty_n in_o promove_v their_o own_o happiness_n be_v but_o the_o fruit_n of_o god_n prevent_v grace_n so_o be_v his_o dispensation_n of_o grace_n ample_a and_o liberal_a like_a to_o the_o giver_n for_o when_o they_o supplicate_v it_o be_v because_o he_o furnish_v they_o by_o his_o spirit_n so_o to_o do_v and_o this_o spirit_n be_v pour_v out_o in_o large_a measure_n 4._o it_o be_v not_o enough_o in_o time_n of_o strait_a to_o supplicate_v god_n for_o help_v out_o of_o trouble_n but_o guilt_n ought_v to_o be_v our_o great_a burden_n and_o exercise_n and_o repentance_n for_o it_o join_v with_o our_o prayer_n for_o when_o they_o have_v the_o spirit_n of_o supplication_n they_o shall_v mourn_v 5._o sin_n will_v then_o affect_v the_o heart_n most_o when_o the_o wrong_n do_v to_o christ_n by_o it_o be_v study_v and_o especial_o a_o true_a penitent_n will_v be_v most_o affect_v with_o any_o persecution_n of_o christ_n in_o his_o member_n whereof_o he_o have_v be_v guilty_a for_o so_o will_v it_o be_v with_o the_o convert_a jew_n they_o shall_v look_v on_o i_o who_o they_o have_v pierce_v and_o they_o shall_v mourn_v 6._o a_o true_a penitent_n will_v be_v easy_o convince_v and_o will_v take_v with_o the_o guilt_n of_o that_o which_o they_o have_v be_v approver_n of_o consenter_n and_o upstirrer_n into_o though_o other_o have_v act_v it_o for_o the_o jew_n where_o the_o person_n be_v change_v god_n the_o father_n speak_v or_o the_o prophet_n in_o his_o name_n as_o one_o mourn_v for_o his_o only_a son_n etc._n etc._n verse_n 11._o in_o that_o day_n shall_v there_o be_v a_o great_a mourning_n in_o jerusalem_n as_o the_o mourning_n of_o hadadrimmon_n in_o the_o valley_n of_o megiddon_n the_o repentance_n of_o the_o convert_a jew_n be_v further_o eye_n to_o see_v it_o for_o when_o he_o withhold_v silver_n and_o gold_n which_o they_o so_o much_o desire_v he_o purpose_v that_o the_o glory_n of_o this_o latter_a house_n shall_v be_v great_a therefore_o they_o behove_v to_o continue_v and_o the_o work_n go_v on_o not_o only_o because_o christ_n have_v chief_a hand_n in_o it_o but_o that_o the_o type_n may_v resemble_v the_o thing_n typify_v 5._o it_o be_v the_o scripture-character_n of_o the_o true_a messiah_n that_o according_a to_o the_o flesh_n he_o be_v to_o spring_v out_o of_o obscure_a and_o contemptible_a beginning_n and_o to_o execute_v his_o office_n especial_o his_o priesthood_n and_o accomplish_v the_o work_n of_o redemption_n in_o the_o form_n of_o a_o servant_n come_v humble_o to_o serve_v and_o not_o to_o prophet_n pass_v out_o of_o the_o land_n 8._o false_a doctrine_n and_o corrupt_a worship_n be_v accomplish_v with_o and_o flow_v from_o not_o only_o the_o pollute_a and_o corrupt_a heart_n and_o imagination_n of_o man_n but_o from_o a_o spirit_n of_o satan_n the_o father_n of_o lie_n who_o contribute_v to_o make_v they_o have_v place_n in_o the_o world_n among_o they_o who_o receive_v not_o the_o love_n of_o the_o truth_n which_o spirit_n how_o plausible_a soever_o be_v not_o a_o harmless_a and_o innocent_a spirit_n but_o a_o unclean_a spirit_n work_v upon_o the_o vile_a affection_n in_o
