the_o soul_n can_v but_o stand_v and_o wonder_n at_o that_o condition_n wherein_o it_o be_v when_o the_o lord_n deliver_v it_o that_o be_v the_o second_o three_o the_o humbleness_n which_o faith_n work_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o man_n be_v this_o the_o acknowledgement_n and_o own_n of_o all_o that_o be_v in_o a_o man_n unto_o god_n as_o we_o be_v wont_v to_o write_v in_o the_o book_n that_o be_v give_v we_o the_o gift_n of_o such_o a_o friend_n or_o such_o a_o friend_n or_o as_o jacob_n say_v he_o come_v over_o that_o brook_n with_o a_o staff_n in_o his_o hand_n and_o now_o he_o have_v danger_n nor_o of_o any_o such_o evil_n that_o he_o need_v to_o beware_v of_o so_o much_o carefulness_n so_o much_o wisdom_n and_o wariness_n as_o there_o be_v in_o the_o soul_n to_o use_v what_o it_o have_v receive_v
have_v get_v thus_o much_o and_o thus_o much_o let_v i_o tell_v thou_o if_o thou_o do_v believe_v the_o truth_n which_o thou_o can_v not_o do_v while_o thy_o understanding_n be_v darken_v through_o error_n thou_o may_v have_v get_v this_o and_o that_o from_o jesus_n christ_n for_o by_o believe_v in_o thy_o understanding_n there_o be_v a_o receive_n of_o he_o chap._n x._o this_o object_n that_o receive_v of_o christ_n be_v not_o a_o act_n of_o the_o understanding_n for_o that_o may_v be_v in_o hypocrite_n and_o unregenerate_a person_n answer_v object_n these_o act_n of_o the_o understanding_n may_v seem_v not_o to_o be_v a_o receive_n of_o and_o from_o christ_n for_o these_o may_v be_v in_o a_o hypocrite_n hypocrite_n have_v their_o understanding_n enlighten_v and_o assent_v so_o firm_o unto_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v reveal_v in_o the_o gospel_n as_o those_o which_o be_v regenerate_v do_v they_o be_v often_o time_n persuade_v and_o affect_v with_o the_o persuasion_n of_o the_o word_n to_o go_v unto_o christ_n the_o seat_n of_o grace_n it_o may_v be_v say_v be_v not_o in_o the_o understanding_n for_o its_o grace_n which_o make_v good_a which_o no_o virtue_n in_o the_o understanding_n do_v for_o no_o man_n be_v say_v to_o be_v good_a because_o he_o know_v i'faith_o so_o far_o as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o understanding_n be_v common_a as_o well_o to_o a_o unregenerate_a man_n as_o to_o a_o regenerate_a man_n the_o objection_n be_v ground_v upon_o these_o two_o thing_n 1._o because_o the_o scripture_n do_v ascribe_v unto_o hypocrite_n and_o man_n that_o perish_v that_o they_o do_v believe_v 2._o upon_o this_o principle_n viz._n that_o be_v only_o to_o be_v count_v a_o grace_n which_o make_v a_o man_n good_a and_o no_o man_n be_v say_v to_o be_v good_a for_o what_o he_o know_v but_o for_o what_o he_o do_v answ_n because_o of_o this_o difficulty_n some_o have_v place_v the_o difference_n btween_n a_o regenerate_a and_o a_o unregenerate_a man_n only_o in_o the_o will_n that_o a_o regenerate_a man_n approve_v and_o a_o unregenerate_a man_n do_v not_o of_o the_o light_n that_o shine_v in_o he_o but_o though_o that_o be_v true_a yet_o the_o scripture_n do_v make_v a_o clear_a and_o distinct_a difference_n between_o a_o regenerate_a man_n and_o a_o unregenerate_a man_n even_o in_o their_o very_a mind_n and_o understanding_n as_o you_o may_v see_v in_o 1_o cor._n 2.14_o the_o natural_a man_n 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d he_o that_o have_v all_o the_o reason_n and_o understanding_n which_o a_o man_n as_o meddle_v with_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v sensible_a so_o reason_n and_o understanding_n in_o man_n do_v meddle_v only_o with_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v natural_a or_o with_o thing_n that_o be_v spiritual_a in_o a_o natural_a way_n for_o as_o every_o thing_n be_v so_o it_o work_v so_o in_o 1_o thes_n 5.23_o you_o have_v the_o whole_a man_n distribute_v into_o spirit_n soul_n and_o body_n i_o pray_v god_n sanctify_v you_o throughout_o in_o spirit_n soul_n and_o body_n by_o the_o spirit_n be_v mean_n the_o understanding_n as_o you_o may_v see_v by_o the_o like_a phrase_n in_o rom._n 12.2_o
