know_v that_o we_o have_v come_v like_o brute_n beast_n or_o at_o least_o like_o carnal_a man_n we_o have_v better_o have_v keep_v away_o if_o we_o have_v come_v only_o with_o bodily_a and_o not_o sensible_a feel_n of_o their_o own_o weakness_n dulness_n corruption_n and_o unbelief_n and_o of_o their_o daily_a start_n aside_o from_o god_n they_o can_v choose_v but_o embrace_v this_o as_o a_o great_a mercy_n of_o god_n and_o so_o esteem_v of_o it_o yet_o there_o be_v none_o of_o god_n child_n that_o know_v their_o own_o weakness_n and_o infirmity_n how_o subject_a they_o be_v to_o unbelief_n and_o to_o start_v aside_o from_o god_n if_o they_o consider_v how_o powerful_a the_o sacrament_n be_v for_o the_o raise_n up_o of_o faith_n in_o they_o though_o not_o for_o the_o beget_n of_o faith_n in_o we_o we_o can_v choose_v but_o acknowledge_v this_o a_o singular_a mercy_n and_o love_n of_o god_n to_o we_o in_o christ_n jesus_n we_o know_v we_o sin_v daily_o and_o by_o every_o sin_n we_o know_v we_o do_v as_o much_o as_o in_o we_o lie_v make_v a_o separation_n from_o god_n and_o therefore_o how_o much_o need_n have_v we_o that_o this_o communion_n that_o be_v between_o we_o and_o jesus_n christ_n shall_v be_v daily_o seal_v up_o ratify_v and_o confirm_v unto_o we_o a_o woman_n that_o have_v her_o husband_n absent_a from_o she_o and_o do_v not_o enjoy_v his_o bodily_a presence_n yet_o she_o comfort_v herself_o in_o that_o she_o persuade_v herself_o that_o he_o be_v a_o faithful_a man_n and_o that_o he_o will_v not_o break_v with_o she_o as_o a_o ring_n after_o that_o marriage_n be_v solemnize_v that_o be_v give_v as_o a_o token_n of_o love_n for_o the_o further_a assurance_n of_o love_n one_o to_o another_o when_o she_o look_v upon_o this_o ring_n though_o he_o be_v far_o absent_a from_o she_o yet_o this_o put_v she_o in_o mind_n of_o his_o love_n to_o she_o and_o so_o i_o do_v solace_n and_o comfort_v herself_o in_o the_o love_n of_o her_o husband_n by_o this_o outward_a pledge_n even_o so_o it_o be_v between_o christ_n and_o the_o soul_n of_o every_o faithful_a man_n and_o woman_n we_o do_v not_o enjoy_v the_o bodily_a presence_n of_o christ_n because_o he_o be_v in_o heaven_n nay_o sometime_o he_o withdraw_v his_o sensible_a presence_n of_o his_o spirit_n from_o we_o yet_o we_o know_v there_o be_v a_o covenant_n make_v between_o he_o and_o we_o he_o be_v our_o husband_n and_o we_o his_o spouse_n he_o make_v one_o with_o we_o and_o we_o with_o he_o and_o though_o he_o do_v absent_a himself_o from_o we_o yet_o we_o comfort_v ourselves_o in_o this_o union_n because_o we_o be_v convert_v unto_o god_n and_o so_o this_o communion_n be_v make_v between_o christ_n

unregenerate_a have_v no_o interest_n in_o the_o covenant_n and_o therefore_o no_o part_n in_o this_o business_n last_o it_o reprove_v pharisaical_a and_o justitiarie_n receiver_n that_o stand_v upon_o their_o own_o righteousness_n this_o be_v a_o sacrament_n of_o the_o new_a testament_n the_o new_a testament_n be_v the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n free_a pardon_n and_o remission_n of_o sin_n through_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n whosoever_o then_o stand_v upon_o their_o own_o righteousness_n and_o think_v to_o be_v save_v by_o the_o least_o measure_n part_n or_o contribution_n of_o their_o own_o work_n or_o merit_n have_v no_o part_n in_o the_o new_a testament_n and_o so_o have_v nothing_o to_o do_v with_o this_o sacrament_n this_o be_v only_o for_o such_o as_o have_v their_o share_n in_o the_o testament_n that_o apply_v and_o cast_v themselves_o upon_o god_n here_o i_o be_o a_o wretched_a and_o damnable_a sinner_n i_o have_v nothing_o to_o say_v for_o myself_o i_o have_v deserve_v thy_o wrath_n i_o cast_v myself_o upon_o thy_o promise_n for_o the_o free_a remission_n of_o my_o sin_n in_o the_o blood_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n there_o be_v my_o plea._n thus_o come_v and_o welcome_a but_o otherwise_o as_o peter_n say_v to_o simon_n magus_n thou_o have_v no_o part_n in_o this_o business_n so_o much_o for_o the_o first_o point_n that_o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n be_v proper_a to_o the_o state_n of_o the_o new_a testament_n in_o the_o second_o place_n whereas_o in_o be_v say_v that_o the_o sacrament_n be_v of_o the_o new_a testament_n hence_o observe_v thus_o much_o that_o doct._n 2._o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n be_v a_o effectual_a pledge_n and_o seal_v of_o the_o whole_a work_n and_o covenant_n of_o grace_n we_o shall_v not_o need_v to_o seek_v far_o for_o proof_n but_o only_o to_o the_o word_n of_o institution_n here_o and_o elsewhere_o use_v that_o which_o be_v in_o luke_n 22.20_o this_o cup_n be_v the_o new_a testament_n in_o my_o blood_n which_o be_v shed_v for_o you_o some_o read_v it_o and_o so_o the_o original_n of_o the_o text_n require_v because_o of_o the_o particle_n that_o that_o it_o be_v speak_v that_o which_o our_o saviour_n say_v luke_n 22.19_o do_v this_o in_o remembrance_n of_o i_o prove_v as_o much_o he_o say_v not_o in_o remembrance_n of_o my_o continuance_n and_o work_n of_o this_o and_o that_o act_n but_o of_o all_o that_o ever_o i_o have_v do_v and_o suffer_v for_o the_o accomplishment_n of_o your_o redemption_n in_o remembrance_n of_o whole_a christ_n as_o a_o man_n will_v say_v and_o whereas_o it_o be_v here_o say_v and_o likewise_o by_o the_o other_o evangelist_n for_o remission_n of_o sin_n this_o prove_v the_o point_n by_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o phrase_n and_o supper_n it_o be_v to_o be_v apprehend_v with_o particular_a application_n to_o every_o receiver_n the_o word_n of_o the_o institution_n prove_v this_o eat_v you_o drink_v you_o and_o do_v this_o in_o remembrance_n of_o i_o 1_o cor._n 11.28_o let_v a_o man_n examine_v himself_o and_o so_o let_v he_o eat_v of_o this_o bread_n and_o drink_v of_o this_o cup._n every_o man_n that_o come_v to_o the_o lord_n table_n must_v examine_v himself_o and_o so_o must_v eat_v that_o be_v with_o particular_a application_n after_o examination_n when_o he_o have_v find_v himself_o fit_a to_o lay_v hold_n on_o these_o ordinance_n for_o his_o own_o the_o action_n of_o the_o minister_n prove_v the_o same_o his_o taking_z eat_a etc._n etc._n and_o likewise_o his_o speech_n to_o the_o receiver_n take_v this_o feed_v on_o he_o in_o thy_o heart_n with_o faith_n and_o thanksgiving_n the_o action_n of_o the_o receiver_n intend_v as_o much_o every_o man_n receive_v for_o himself_o he_o have_v hand_n of_o his_o own_o mouth_n and_o stomach_n of_o his_o own_o faith_n be_v the_o hand_n mouth_n and_o stomach_n whereby_o he_o lay_v hold_v feed_v and_o digest_v it_o thus_o every_o man_n must_v have_v a_o but_o one_o notwithstanding_o it_o be_v as_o well_o to_o be_v administer_v with_o particular_a application_n as_o that_o of_o baptism_n the_o nature_n and_o use_n of_o the_o sacrament_n be_v alike_o reas_n 4_o the_o last_o reason_n be_v this_o the_o danger_n that_o come_v to_o unworthy_a receiver_n be_v by_o their_o particular_a profanation_n of_o this_o sacrament_n because_o they_o eat_v and_o drink_v unworthy_o therefore_o they_o eat_v and_o drink_v judgement_n to_o themselves_o and_o therefore_o by_o consequent_a it_o hold_v that_o the_o benefit_n that_o come_v to_o the_o faithful_a that_o eat_v worthy_o it_o come_v by_o their_o particular_a application_n of_o it_o to_o themselves_o yea_o the_o want_n of_o this_o particular_a application_n be_v that_o which_o make_v they_o eat_v judgement_n to_o themselves_o 1_o cor._n 11._o for_o they_o be_v guilty_a not_o because_o the_o lord_n body_n be_v not_o there_o tender_v but_o because_o they_o discern_v it_o not_o by_o and_o for_o themselves_o use_v 1_o the_o use_n of_o the_o point_n it_o shall_v teach_v we_o first_o that_o therefore_o the_o sacrament_n can_v be_v beneficial_a to_o any_o but_o to_o they_o that_o partake_v of_o it_o themselves_o much_o less_o as_o the_o papist_n appropriate_a sacrament_n for_o the_o quick_a and_o the_o dead_a their_o impudency_n in_o this_o kind_n be_v horrible_a that_o they_o hold_v it_o beneficial_a to_o they_o that_o be_v absent_a nay_o to_o they_o that_o be_v dead_a and_o in_o purgatory_n the_o name_n of_o these_o thing_n shall_v be_v sufficient_a refutation_n of_o they_o i_o ask_v they_o can_v a_o dead_a man_n eat_v and_o drink_v or_o receive_v benefit_n by_o eat_v and_o drink_v no_o and_o much_o less_o by_o the_o eat_n of_o other_o and_o again_o when_o our_o saviour_n bid_v they_o eat_v it_o be_v flat_a aghasted_n this_o error_n the_o benefit_n be_v to_o they_o that_o eat_v and_o therefore_o if_o the_o dead_a can_v eat_v they_o may_v have_v benefit_n if_o otherwise_o they_o can_v expect_v no_o good_a in_o this_o business_n use_v 2_o another_o use_n teach_v we_o what_o meditation_n we_o must_v bring_v with_o we_o to_o this_o sacrament_n namely_o we_o must_v grow_v upon_o particular_a term_n with_o the_o lord_n jesus_n every_o man_n for_o himself_o i_o must_v come_v and_o say_v lord_n here_o be_o i_o i_o have_v kill_v thou_o crucify_v thou_o and_o slay_v thou_o i_o have_v bring_v thou_o to_o this_o shameful_a death_n i_o come_v for_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o my_o sin_n wash_v it_o away_o with_o thy_o most_o precious_a blood_n it_o be_v a_o heavenly_a passage_n that_o stand_v between_o the_o religious_a soul_n and_o our_o saviour_n in_o this_o case_n he_o offer_v it_o particular_o we_o receive_v it_o in_o particular_a as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v here_o thou_o poor_a soul_n i_o deliver_v this_o unto_o thou_o for_o thy_o comfort_n to_o assure_v thou_o that_o i_o have_v dye_v for_o thou_o that_o i_o have_v reconcile_v thou_o and_o will_v god_n child_n in_o that_o point_n and_o without_o question_n judas_n do_v this_o as_o appeareth_z by_o the_o text_n when_o our_o saviour_n say_v one_o of_o you_o shall_v betray_v i_o judas_n as_o fit_a preparation_n unto_o the_o participation_n of_o that_o holy_a sacrament_n the_o next_o sabbath_n day_n 1_o cor._n 11.26_o for_o as_o oft_o as_o you_o shall_v eat_v this_o bread_n and_o drink_v and_o condition_n that_o it_o be_v to_o be_v perform_v withal_o in_o the_o latter_a part_n of_o the_o verse_n you_o show_v forth_o the_o lord_n death_n till_o he_o come_v concern_v the_o action_n we_o note_v two_o thing_n first_o the_o part_n of_o it_o and_o then_o the_o frequent_v of_o it_o the_o part_n of_o it_o to_o eat_v this_o bread_n and_o drink_v this_o cup_n the_o frequent_v of_o it_o so_o oft_o as_o you_o eat_v it_o you_o show_v the_o lord_n death_n till_o he_o come_v we_o have_v begin_v with_o the_o part_n of_o it_o already_o and_o therein_o we_o have_v show_v how_o that_o the_o apostle_n describe_v the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n set_v it_o forth_o by_o the_o use_n of_o it_o not_o by_o have_v of_o it_o or_o by_o have_v access_n to_o it_o but_o by_o have_v the_o use_n of_o it_o by_o eat_v the_o bread_n and_o drink_v the_o cup._n thence_o we_o note_v that_o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n consist_v in_o matter_n of_o action_n and_o use_n then_o again_o we_o note_v in_o the_o second_o place_n that_o whereas_o the_o apostle_n here_o speak_v of_o the_o element_n of_o bread_n and_o wine_n as_o they_o be_v in_o use_n in_o the_o sacrament_n he_o call_v they_o by_o their_o ordinary_a name_n the_o bread_n by_o the_o name_n of_o bread_n and_o the_o wine_n by_o the_o name_n of_o cup_n from_o hence_o we_o gather_v this_o doctrine_n that_o even_o after_o the_o word_n of_o consecration_n and_o blessing_n still_o the_o bread_n and_o the_o wine_n for_o their_o nature_n and_o substance_n be_v the_o same_o as_o they_o be_v before_o still_o they_o remain_v bread_n and_o wine_n so_o far_o we_o proceed_v now_o we_o be_v to_o proceed_v further_o three_o than_o we_o be_v here_o to_o consider_v that_o the_o apostle_n here_o speak_v of_o these_o element_n of_o bread_n and_o wine_n as_o they_o be_v in_o use_n in_o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n he_o set_v they_o forth_o by_o a_o note_n of_o excellency_n this_o bread_n and_o this_o cup_n for_o by_o the_o cup_n be_v mean_v wine_n as_o oft_o as_o you_o eat_v this_o bread_n and_o drink_v this_o cup_n he_o set_v they_o forth_o by_o a_o note_n of_o excellency_n as_o in_o all_o thing_n we_o must_v keep_v a_o mean_a without_o go_v too_o far_o or_o come_v too_o short_a so_o special_o in_o matter_n of_o religion_n we_o must_v be_v sure_a to_o keep_v on_o the_o right_a way_n without_o turn_v either_o to_o the_o right_a hand_n or_o to_o the_o left_a we_o must_v take_v all_o matter_n of_o religion_n in_o that_o very_a precise_a and_o true_a strain_n that_o the_o lord_n himself_o have_v set_v upon_o they_o we_o be_v apt_a enough_o to_o err_v as_o well_o on_o the_o one_o side_n as_o on_o the_o other_o as_o well_o on_o the_o right_a side_n as_o on_o the_o left_a and_o to_o err_v on_o either_o side_n be_v alike_o dangerous_a so_o it_o be_v in_o other_o matter_n of_o religion_n and_o so_o it_o be_v in_o our_o estimation_n of_o these_o element_n of_o bread_n and_o wine_n that_o be_v in_o use_n in_o the_o lord_n supper_n some_o do_v err_v on_o the_o right_a hand_n in_o their_o estimation_n of_o they_o think_v too_o high_o of_o they_o as_o the_o papist_n do_v that_o the_o bread_n be_v corporal_o the_o very_a body_n of_o christ_n that_o the_o wine_n be_v corporal_o the_o very_a blood_n of_o christ_n on_o the_o other_o side_n other_o there_o be_v that_o err_v on_o the_o left_a hand_n in_o their_o estimation_n of_o they_o they_o esteem_v too_o mean_o and_o base_o of_o they_o as_o the_o profane_a people_n of_o the_o world_n they_o general_o esteem_v the_o bread_n and_o wine_n at_o the_o lord_n table_n no_o better_a than_o the_o bread_n and_o wine_n at_o their_o own_o table_n to_o meet_v with_o both_o these_o error_n and_o so_o to_o keep_v our_o heart_n upright_o in_o the_o profession_n of_o god_n truth_n herein_o the_o apostle_n in_o this_o short_a speech_n give_v we_o a_o good_a caveat_n and_o preservative_n and_o first_o that_o we_o may_v not_o think_v too_o high_o of_o they_o and_o so_o err_v on_o the_o right_a hand_n as_o the_o papist_n do_v the_o apostle_n still_o call_v they_o bread_n and_o wine_n show_v that_o in_o the_o nature_n and_o substance_n of_o they_o they_o be_v the_o same_o as_o they_o be_v before_o next_o that_o we_o may_v not_o err_v on_o the_o left_a hand_n and_o think_v too_o mean_o and_o base_o of_o they_o as_o the_o profane_a people_n do_v he_o extol_v they_o by_o a_o note_n of_o excellency_n this_o bread_n and_o this_o wine_n though_o the_o bread_n be_v but_o bread_n in_o itself_o and_o the_o wine_n be_v that_o be_v use_v in_o the_o lord_n supper_n be_v in_o nature_n and_o substance_n the_o same_o creature_n as_o they_o be_v before_o yet_o notwithstanding_o in_o respect_n of_o that_o sacred_a and_o holy_a use_n that_o they_o be_v consecrate_v and_o dedicate_v unto_o to_o be_v make_v part_n of_o the_o sacrament_n in_o this_o respect_n they_o be_v far_o more_o excellent_a than_o any_o other_o at_o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n the_o first_o be_v in_o the_o 20._o and_o 21._o verse_n when_o you_o come_v together_o therefore_o into_o one_o place_n this_o be_v not_o to_o eat_v the_o lord_n supper_n for_o every_o man_n when_o they_o shall_v eat_v take_v his_o own_o supper_n afore_o and_o one_o be_v hungry_a and_o another_o be_v drunken_a our_o ordinary_a food_n be_v our_o own_o food_n our_o ordinary_a supper_n be_v our_o own_o supper_n but_o this_o extraordinary_a food_n be_v not_o

unto_o we_o therefore_o the_o sacrament_n that_o show_v forth_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n lively_a to_o we_o too_o that_o the_o word_n show_v forth_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n lively_a it_o appear_v gal._n 3.1_o oh_o you_o foolish_a galathian_o who_o have_v bewitch_v you_o that_o you_o shall_v not_o believe_v the_o truth_n to_o who_o christ_n jesus_n be_v before_o describe_v in_o your_o crucify_v if_o it_o be_v so_o in_o the_o word_n it_o be_v so_o in_o the_o sacrament_n if_o the_o word_n do_v so_o lively_o represent_v he_o the_o sacrament_n do_v it_o much_o more_o for_o the_o sacrament_n be_v a_o visible_a word_n that_o be_v to_o say_v look_v whatsoever_o the_o word_n sound_v unto_o we_o in_o our_o ear_n that_o the_o sacrament_n present_v and_o exhibit_n before_o our_o eye_n the_o sacrament_n be_v a_o visible_a word_n now_o that_o which_o i_o see_v to_o be_v do_v before_o my_o face_n be_v more_o lively_o represent_v unto_o i_o than_o that_o which_o i_o hear_v with_o my_o ear_n therefore_o if_o the_o word_n describe_v the_o death_n of_o christ_n lively_a then_o do_v the_o sacrament_n much_o more_o reason_n 3_o the_o three_o reason_n be_v draw_v from_o the_o end_n of_o the_o institution_n what_o be_v the_o end_n of_o the_o institution_n of_o the_o sacrament_n what_o purpose_n have_v our_o saviour_n when_o he_o institute_v the_o sacrament_n even_o this_o purpose_n chief_o that_o he_o may_v leave_v among_o his_o disciple_n to_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n a_o pledge_n a_o token_n and_o pawn_v as_o the_o memorial_n of_o his_o death_n that_o he_o suffer_v for_o we_o the_o end_n that_o christ_n aim_v at_o he_o will_v not_o have_v frustrate_a that_o which_o christ_n do_v he_o will_v do_v it_o thorough_o if_o he_o come_v to_o set_v fire_n upon_o the_o earth_n what_o be_v his_o will_n but_o it_o shall_v burn_v if_o christ_n ordain_v a_o memorial_n of_o his_o death_n it_o shall_v be_v a_o clear_a memorial_n this_o sacrament_n be_v ordain_v of_o purpose_n by_o he_o for_o his_o remembrance_n do_v this_o in_o remembrance_n of_o i_o say_v he_o therefore_o it_o be_v a_o lively_a representation_n of_o his_o death_n and_o except_o we_o will_v impeach_v either_o the_o power_n or_o the_o goodness_n of_o christ_n jesus_n as_o who_o shall_v say_v he_o can_v not_o make_v a_o lively_a representation_n of_o his_o death_n or_o else_o he_o will_v not_o we_o must_v needs_o confess_v that_o this_o sacrament_n be_v as_o lively_a a_o memorial_n of_o his_o death_n as_o ever_o can_v be_v devise_v i_o may_v add_v other_o reason_n as_o namely_o concern_v the_o state_n of_o the_o new_a testament_n the_o state_n of_o the_o new_a testament_n require_v that_o all_o thing_n shall_v be_v most_o clear_a and_o most_o plain_a and_o especial_o the_o creep_v within_o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n i_o make_v no_o question_n but_o our_o state_n be_v religious_a and_o wise_a will_v have_v utter_o cast_v it_o out_o from_o the_o one_o sacrament_n aswell_o as_o from_o the_o other_o but_o i_o say_v they_o stain_v this_o sacrament_n by_o admit_v of_o the_o cross_n into_o the_o lord_n supper_n but_o that_o be_v not_o the_o worst_a they_o go_v further_o they_o maim_v this_o bless_a sacrament_n they_o make_v this_o communion_n but_o half_a a_o communion_n they_o deprive_v the_o people_n of_o the_o cup_n let_v they_o have_v the_o bread_n and_o much_o good_a may_v it_o do_v they_o but_o they_o shall_v have_v no_o wine_n but_o our_o saviour_n say_v eat_v this_o bread_n and_o drink_v this_o cup_n he_o give_v they_o bread_n and_o wine_n to_o eat_v and_o to_o drink_v and_o thus_o do_v he_o leave_v this_o ordinance_n to_o be_v observe_v by_o they_o now_o if_o the_o papist_n shall_v come_v and_o deprive_v the_o people_n of_o another_o way_n in_o that_o they_o keep_v it_o but_o in_o one_o kind_n that_o be_v in_o the_o bread_n and_o that_o very_a element_n of_o bread_n that_o christ_n have_v separate_v to_o holy_a use_n they_o have_v turn_v into_o a_o profane_a and_o gross_a idol_n they_o hold_v it_o very_o to_o be_v a_o god_n and_o if_o this_o be_v not_o to_o overthrow_v the_o nature_n of_o the_o sacrament_n i_o know_v not_o what_o be_v use_v 3_o another_o use_n be_v this_o here_o be_v matter_n of_o confirmation_n arise_v hence_o that_o be_v concern_v the_o perpetual_a visiblenesse_n of_o the_o church_n upon_o the_o earth_n it_o shall_v be_v perpetual_o visible_a upon_o the_o earth_n so_o long_o as_o the_o world_n stand_v where_o the_o sacrament_n be_v to_o be_v administer_v there_o must_v needs_o be_v a_o visible_a church_n the_o sacrament_n be_v still_o in_o use_n and_o therefore_o the_o church_n shall_v still_o continue_v visible_a the_o papist_n do_v we_o wrong_n when_o they_o charge_v we_o that_o we_o hold_v the_o church_n be_v invisible_a or_o that_o at_o some_o time_n it_o be_v not_o visible_a at_o all_o true_a in_o some_o sense_n it_o be_v so_o and_o the_o scripture_n speak_v so_o and_o some_o of_o the_o papist_n themselves_o do_v speak_v as_o much_o but_o yet_o not_o in_o that_o sense_n as_o they_o charge_v we_o withal_o the_o church_n be_v sometime_o so_o obscure_v and_o eclipse_v that_o it_o be_v invisible_a that_o be_v to_o say_v that_o the_o world_n can_v see_v it_o and_o take_v public_a notice_n of_o it_o but_o yet_o be_v it_o never_o so_o darken_v but_o that_o one_o professor_n know_v another_o and_o they_o do_v meet_v together_o though_o sometime_o happy_o but_o two_o or_o three_o or_o a_o few_o in_o the_o use_n of_o god_n save_v ordinance_n god_n never_o want_v his_o church_n in_o one_o place_n or_o another_o the_o gate_n of_o hell_n shall_v never_o prevail_v against_o it_o use_v 4_o a_o four_o use_n here_o be_v matter_n of_o instruction_n many_o instruction_n to_o many_o duty_n first_o this_o call_v upon_o we_o that_o we_o shall_v behold_v and_o consider_v and_o take_v to_o heart_n the_o wonderful_a care_n and_o the_o provident_a love_n that_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n have_v over_o his_o church_n that_o do_v not_o content_v himself_o to_o furnish_v his_o church_n with_o sufficient_a spiritual_a maintenance_n and_o food_n so_o long_o as_o he_o live_v here_o himself_o but_o take_v order_n for_o it_o while_o he_o be_v here_o that_o the_o church_n shall_v be_v maintain_v and_o shall_v have_v as_o good_a a_o portion_n after_o his_o death_n as_o it_o do_v enjoy_v in_o his_o life_n time_n as_o if_o so_o be_v our_o saviour_n shall_v say_v and_o thus_o resolve_v with_o himself_o nay_o though_o i_o myself_o die_v yet_o my_o love_n and_o my_o care_n to_o my_o poor_a church_n that_o shall_v never_o die_v but_o so_o long_o as_o the_o world_n stand_v so_o long_o shall_v my_o word_n and_o sacrament_n and_o save_v ordinance_n be_v make_v good_a for_o all_o save_a purpose_n to_o my_o choose_a people_n a_o love_a and_o a_o careful_a husband_n will_v not_o only_o maintain_v his_o wife_n while_o he_o live_v with_o she_o but_o he_o will_v do_v the_o best_a he_o can_v to_o leave_v somewhat_o to_o maintain_v she_o when_o he_o be_v absent_a when_o he_o be_v dead_a and_o go_v the_o church_n be_v the_o spouse_n of_o christ_n and_o christ_n be_v her_o love_a husband_n love_v it_o most_o dear_o most_o tender_o and_o most_o affectionate_o and_o therefore_o he_o have_v not_o only_o provide_v mean_n of_o maintenance_n for_o the_o time_n he_o live_v here_o upon_o earth_n but_o now_o also_o that_o he_o be_v absent_a that_o he_o be_v dead_a and_o go_v from_o they_o still_o their_o maintenance_n that_o continue_v he_o be_v a_o faithless_a housekeeper_n that_o provide_v only_o for_o his_o family_n so_o long_o as_o he_o be_v with_o they_o and_o let_v they_o starve_v or_o shift_v for_o themselves_o when_o he_o be_v go_v he_o be_v worse_a than_o a_o infidel_n as_o the_o apostle_n speak_v that_o provide_v not_o for_o his_o family_n but_o our_o saviour_n be_v more_o faithful_a than_o so_o he_o provide_v bountiful_o for_o his_o church_n and_o family_n while_o he_o be_v here_o among_o they_o upon_o earth_n and_o now_o that_o he_o be_v go_v from_o earth_n to_o heaven_n from_o among_o they_o yet_o still_o he_o leave_v they_o the_o same_o liberal_a portion_n to_o nourish_v and_o cherish_v their_o soul_n as_o they_o have_v before_o christ_n will_v have_v we_o take_v notice_n of_o this_o his_o great_a care_n and_o love_n towards_o we_o mark_n 13.13_o the_o son_n of_o man_n be_v like_a unto_o a_o man_n go_v into_o a_o strange_a country_n leave_v his_o house_n etc._n etc._n so_o christ_n leave_v his_o
