these_o precious_a jewel_n in_o this_o world_n promise_v be_v only_o have_v and_o enjoy_v in_o the_o heavenly_a palace_n and_o therefore_o of_o that_o good_a which_o be_v chief_a of_o all_o goodness_n what_o it_o be_v and_o how_o it_o be_v shall_v first_o be_v declare_v ¶_o the_o xviii_o chapter_n ¶_o of_o the_o consideration_n of_o the_o deity_n &_o joy_n of_o heaven_n let_v we_o stir_v up_o therefore_o and_o advance_v all_o our_o understanding_n as_o far_o forth_o as_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n may_v assist_v it_o to_o weigh_v and_o confider_v how_o great_a the_o only_a and_o proper_a joy_n of_o the_o choose_a be_v there_o where_o the_o place_n be_v prepare_v for_o they_o that_o be_v to_o say_v that_o only_o high_a sovereign_a good_a which_o be_v life_n light_n blyssefulnes_n wisdom_n eternity_n and_o such_o other_o like_a and_o yet_o be_v but_o only_o one_o in_o nature_n most_o excellent_a and_o high_a good_a suffice_v to_o itself_o in_o all_o thing_n need_v or_o want_v nothing_o and_o which_o all_o have_v need_n of_o not_o only_o to_o be_v but_o also_o well_o to_o be_v this_o good_a be_v god_n the_o father_n this_o be_v the_o word_n that_o be_v the_o son_n of_o the_o father_n and_o this_o be_v that_o one_o and_o common_a love_n to_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n name_o that_o holy_a spirit_n which_o from_o they_o both_o equal_o do_v issue_n and_o proceed_v and_o that_o which_o every_o one_o of_o these_o be_v in_o parson_n particular_o the_o same_o be_v the_o whole_a trinity_n the_o father_n the_o son_n &_o the_o holy_a ghost_n for_o every_o singular_a parson_n of_o this_o trinity_n be_v doubtless_o nothing_o else_o but_o that_o high_a sovereign_a unity_n of_o the_o godhead_n i_o mean_v 10._o and_o the_o deity_n which_o can_v neither_o be_v multiply_v increase_a nor_o alter_v moreover_o this_o be_v that_o only_a one_o thing_n which_o be_v needful_a and_o necessary_a and_o that_o only_o be_v necessary_a in_o the_o which_o all_o good_a be_v or_o which_o of_o itself_o be_v the_o only_a one_o and_o alone_o good_a for_o if_o each_o several_a good_a thing_n be_v good_a and_o delectable_a then_o think_v with_o thyself_o how_o delectable_a that_o good_a be_v which_o contain_v in_o it_o the_o pleasure_n and_o delight_n of_o all_o that_o be_v good_a and_o not_o such_o as_o we_o find_v or_o taste_v in_o god_n creature_n but_o so_o far_o differ_v in_o all_o kind_n of_o excellency_n as_o the_o creator_n in_o worthiness_n do_v excel_v the_o creature_n for_o if_o life_n create_v be_v good_a how_o good_a be_v that_o life_n which_o do_v create_v it_o if_o health_n make_v or_o give_v be_v good_a how_o good_a be_v that_o health_n that_o make_v or_o give_v it_o if_o the_o wisdom_n amiable_a that_o consist_v in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o thing_n that_o be_v make_v how_o amiable_a be_v that_o wisdom_n that_o make_v all_o those_o thing_n of_o nothing_o final_o if_o in_o thing_n delectable_a the_o delight_n be_v great_a and_o manifold_a how_o great_a be_v the_o same_o in_o he_o that_o make_v and_o ordain_v what_o soever_o be_v delectable_a oh_o how_o happy_a be_v that_o soul_n which_o may_v have_v use_n of_o that_o good_a what_o shall_v he_o have_v miss_v of_o that_o have_v it_o or_o what_o shall_v he_o not_o want_v that_o lack_v it_o for_o who_o so_o have_v that_o shall_v together_o have_v the_o good_n both_o of_o body_n and_o soul_n and_o those_o such_o also_o so_o pass_v and_o so_o excellent_a as_o neither_o eye_n have_v see_v 2._o nor_o ear_n have_v hear_v nor_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n have_v think_v or_o conceive_v why_o then_o wander_v we_o through_o so_o many_o thing_n to_o seek_v the_o good_n of_o our_o body_n and_o soul_n let_v we_o rather_o love_v that_o one_o god_n in_o who_o be_v all_o that_o good_a be_v and_o it_o shall_v be_v enough_o and_o sufficient_a for_o we_o let_v we_o long_o after_o that_o simple_a good_a which_o of_o itself_o be_v all_o good_a and_o we_o shall_v be_v afeard_a nor_o ashamed_a to_o do_v he_o injury_n and_o not_o only_o contemn_v his_o singular_a love_n but_o also_o to_o yield_v thyself_o vassal_n to_o thy_o own_o lust_n and_o sensuality_n do_v not_o thou_o have_v ordain_v these_o thing_n who_o have_v give_v that_o commandment_n or_o prescribe_v to_o nature_n with_o her_o whole_a revenue_n as_o it_o be_v to_o maintain_v thy_o port_n thou_o receiv_v a_o benefit_n and_o know_v not_o the_o author_n the_o gift_n be_v manifest_a but_o the_o giver_n be_v hide_v and_o yet_o thine_o own_o reason_n suffer_v thou_o not_o to_o be_v doubtful_a but_o instruct_v thou_o that_o this_o be_v not_o thine_o own_o due_a but_o a_o other_o body_n benefit_n whatsoever_o he_o be_v therefore_o he_o have_v do_v very_o much_o for_o we_o and_o he_o that_o singular_a gift_n he_o have_v also_o love_v thou_o thou_o be_v love_v i_o say_v in_o every_o creature_n thou_o be_v love_v with_o all_o good_a thing_n and_o thou_o be_v love_v above_o all_o evil_n thing_n and_o if_o this_o yet_o seem_v but_o small_a unto_o thou_o that_o thou_o be_v love_v above_o all_o evil_a thing_n weigh_v how_o good_a those_o thing_n be_v by_o virtue_n of_o creation_n that_o in_o every_o condition_n have_v receive_v less_o goodness_n than_o thou_o and_o first_o think_v oh_o my_o soul_n that_o the_o time_n be_v when_o thou_o be_v not_o and_o that_o thou_o receive_v it_o to_o live_v so_o as_o we_o may_v pass_v and_o excel_v such_o thing_n as_o have_v no_o be_v and_o such_o also_o as_o be_v inordinate_a maim_a or_o imperfect_a as_o neither_o shapen_v by_o form_n nor_o quicken_v with_o live_a spirit_n by_o mean_n whereof_o thou_o be_v mighty_o indebt_v oh_o my_o soul_n for_o thou_o have_v receive_v much_o &_o of_o thyself_o thou_o have_v nothing_o &_o for_o all_o these_o thing_n thou_o have_v no_o mean_a to_o make_v recompense_n but_o only_o to_o love_v for_o that_o which_o be_v give_v by_o love_n no_o way_n better_o than_o by_o love_n may_v again_o be_v thou_o in_o as_o much_o as_o thou_o have_v not_o be_v afeard_a to_o fall_v from_o my_o creator_n and_o to_o join_v with_o his_o adversary_n the_o devil_n the_o author_n of_o disobedience_n sin_n and_o iniquity_n the_o sun_n also_o may_v use_v this_o language_n i_o ought_v not_o to_o shine_v nor_o geve_v light_n to_o thy_o health_n safety_n or_o salvation_n but_o in_o revenge_n of_o my_o lord_n quarrel_n who_o be_v both_o light_n itself_o and_o of_o light_a the_o fountain_n utter_o to_o hide_v from_o thou_o the_o beam_n of_o my_o beauty_n and_o thus_o may_v every_o creature_n else_o
