people_n will_v speak_v hardly_o of_o you_o and_o you_o thereby_o come_v to_o have_v a_o ill_a name_n rather_o than_o this_o you_o may_v be_v constrain_v to_o give_v something_o though_o little_a or_o no_o heart_n to_o it_o otherwise_o and_o sometime_o upon_o the_o account_n that_o conscience_n with_o such_o a_o loud_a voice_n call_v for_o work_n of_o charity_n you_o may_v be_v persuade_v to_o part_v with_o something_o to_o quiet_a conscience_n have_v all_o that_o while_o but_o little_a real_a and_o hearty_a love_n and_o compassion_n on_o the_o poor_a saint_n as_o appear_v among_o some_o first_n by_o their_o be_v quiet_v and_o altogether_o satisfy_v in_o that_o they_o have_v distribute_v something_o never_o consider_v whether_o they_o have_v do_v what_o be_v their_o duty_n to_o do_v whether_o the_o poor_a saint_n have_v food_n and_o raiment_n sufficient_a yea_o or_o nay_o second_o as_o appear_v by_o their_o much_o more_o diligent_a eye_n over_o such_o as_o be_v poor_a than_o over_o other_o whereby_o to_o find_v some_o kind_n of_o flaw_n or_o other_o in_o their_o walking_n that_o so_o they_o may_v quiet_a conscience_n thereby_o while_o they_o administer_v not_o to_o they_o this_o savour_n of_o much_o carnality_n where_o ever_o it_o be_v for_o shall_v you_o not_o be_v merciful_a even_o as_o your_o heavenly_a father_n be_v merciful_a neither_o think_v to_o say_v within_o yourselves_o some_o of_o you_o because_o you_o be_v more_o kind_a mild_a and_o more_o meek_a than_o other_o that_o therefore_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n reach_v you_o for_o although_o these_o thing_n be_v good_a qualification_n yet_o may_v be_v no_o certain_a testimony_n to_o you_o of_o your_o strive_n and_o labour_v in_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n whereby_o these_o qualification_n in_o you_o may_v be_v true_o say_v to_o be_v the_o fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n though_o they_o be_v find_v in_o other_o may_v be_v so_o yet_o i_o say_v not_o in_o you_o because_o it_o be_v but_o the_o same_o which_o be_v always_o in_o you_o natural_o and_o you_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n may_v be_v far_o from_o it_o and_o a_o great_a stranger_n unto_o any_o experience_n of_o conquest_n and_o victory_n through_o divine_a help_n over_o those_o other_o passion_n that_o have_v reign_v in_o you_o to_o the_o great_a dishonour_n of_o god_n oh_o that_o you_o will_v remember_v christ_n word_n as_o thus_o every_o branch_n in_o i_o that_o bear_v not_o fruit_n god_n take_v away_o neither_o think_v to_o say_v within_o yourselves_o some_o of_o you_o because_o you_o be_v able_a to_o preach_v and_o to_o dispute_v teacher_n of_o other_o but_o be_v not_o teach_v themselves_o and_o yet_o at_o last_o may_v be_v inexcusable_a as_o they_o be_v while_o the_o life_n of_o godliness_n preach_v to_o other_o be_v not_o live_v up_o to_o by_o yourselves_o for_o alas_o what_o avail_v it_o man_n to_o preach_v unto_o other_o that_o they_o must_v be_v new_a creature_n if_o in_o the_o mean_a while_o they_o themselves_o this_o how_o great_a be_v the_o disproportion_n betwixt_o it_o and_o the_o condition_n of_o the_o gospel-preacher_n in_o day_n of_o old_a who_o persuade_v other_o to_o have_v fellowship_n with_o they_o say_v true_o our_o fellowship_n be_v with_o the_o father_n and_o with_o his_o son_n jesus_n christ_n 1_o john_n 1.3_o and_o so_o be_v such_o as_o be_v able_a to_o tell_v other_o what_o the_o lord_n have_v do_v for_o their_o soul_n how_o god_n have_v comfort_v they_o in_o all_o their_o tribulation_n and_o so_o be_v make_v able_a to_o comfort_v they_o which_o be_v in_o any_o trouble_n by_o the_o comfort_n wherewith_o themselves_o be_v comfort_v of_o god_n 2_o cor._n 1.4_o these_o thing_n write_v i_o unto_o you_o not_o because_o i_o slight_a you_o under_o what_o name_n or_o title_n soever_o you_o be_v on_o who_o these_o word_n may_v take_v hold_v neither_o for_o your_o destruction_n do_v i_o thus_o speak_v but_o rather_o desire_v you_o and_o with_o the_o holy_a spirit_n speak_v to_o the_o church_n do_v i_o hereby_o exhort_v you_o o_o laodicean_n timely_a to_o repent_v and_o be_v zealous_a that_o so_o god_n promise_n may_v reach_v you_o as_o well_o as_o any_o other_o for_o mistake_n of_o the_o quaker_n concern_v the_o true_a christ_n and_o how_o he_o be_v say_v to_o be_v in_o his_o people_n and_o concern_v the_o rule_n of_o mankind_n moreover_o since_o it_o be_v not_o the_o talker_n nor_o ready_a disputer_n nor_o the_o busy_a preacher_n of_o this_o world_n but_o the_o single-hearted_n doer_n of_o what_o be_v preach_v dispute_v or_o talk_v of_o that_o shall_v enter_v into_o the_o kingdom_n it_o remain_v a_o work_n very_o great_a for_o every_o profess_v soul_n to_o abide_v very_o circumspect_a and_o watchful_a together_o with_o a_o constant_a trust_n in_o and_o dependence_n upon_o the_o lord_n who_o wait_v to_o be_v gracious_a that_o thereby_o they_o may_v be_v more_o and_o more_o wrought_v up_o unto_o a_o well-pleasing_a the_o lord_n in_o all_o thing_n but_o lest_o any_o soul_n shall_v be_v deceive_v by_o the_o
subtlety_n of_o the_o evil_a one_o of_o who_o devise_n through_o grace_n i_o be_o not_o altogether_o ignorant_a i_o hereby_o also_o present_a before_o you_o the_o experience_n of_o some_o man_n as_o thus_o certain_a man_n be_v somewhat_o trouble_v about_o their_o present_a condition_n and_o thereupon_o follow_v after_o a_o more_o excellent_a estate_n though_o possible_o not_o with_o that_o care_n and_o watchfulness_n as_o be_v meet_v shall_v be_v have_v on_o a_o sudden_a be_v great_o carry_v forth_o with_o inward_a power_n and_o zeal_n and_o wonderful_a quickning_n after_o some_o matter_n of_o holiness_n so_o as_o scarce_o able_a to_o bear_v with_o the_o least_o appearance_n of_o pride_n covetousness_n or_o the_o like_a in_o other_o without_o reproof_n yea_o scarce_o content_a without_o a_o leave_v their_o calling_n in_o order_n to_o the_o reprove_v other_o who_o at_o length_n while_o in_o this_o state_n have_v be_v secret_o inform_v that_o the_o powerful_a working_n within_o they_o be_v christ_n come_v in_o they_o the_o second_o time_n to_o salvation_n he_o be_v a_o spirit_n and_o not_o man_n and_o so_o no_o other_o come_v to_o be_v look_v for_o but_o within_o and_o that_o the_o scripture_n be_v not_o the_o rule_n and_o that_o the_o ordinance_n of_o christ_n be_v cease_v be_v impose_v only_o till_o the_o time_n of_o reformation_n which_o time_n be_v come_v and_o such_o like_a but_o be_v somewhat_o fearful_a of_o delusion_n do_v thereupon_o give_v up_o themselves_o diligent_o to_o pray_v unto_o the_o lord_n who_o at_o length_n gracious_o deliver_v they_o from_o the_o strong_a delusion_n i_o say_v the_o strong_a delusion_n for_o be_v it_o not_o so_o indeed_o when_o a_o evil_a spirit_n shall_v carry_v forth_o person_n zealous_o to_o some_o thing_n that_o be_v just_a holy_a and_o good_a though_o he_o no_o lover_n of_o holiness_n or_o any_o goodness_n but_o that_o be_v real_o a_o angel_n of_o darkness_n he_o may_v seem_o appear_v to_o be_v a_o angel_n of_o light_n 2_o cor._n 11.14_o thereby_o to_o gain_v their_o affection_n that_o then_o have_v get_v the_o affection_n he_o may_v the_o better_a drop_n into_o their_o understanding_n principle_n of_o error_n in_o matter_n of_o faith_n with_o likeliness_n of_o acceptance_n whereupon_o dear_a brethren_n as_o i_o have_v here_o brief_o propose_v to_o you_o the_o ready_a and_o plain_a way_n in_o order_n to_o the_o life_n of_o godliness_n without_o which_o all_o profession_n thereof_o be_v little_a together_o therewith_o i_o hereby_o also_o counsel_v you_o in_o the_o word_n of_o john_n not_o to_o believe_v every_o spirit_n for_o there_o be_v many_o false_a spirit_n go_v out_o into_o the_o world_n the_o one_o and_o true_a spirit_n of_o god_n be_v plain_o to_o be_v know_v by_o his_o guide_n and_o move_v the_o saint_n not_o only_o to_o be_v just_o holy_a and_o zealous_a in_o point_n of_o conversation_n but_o also_o to_o be_v steadfast_a in_o the_o principle_n of_o faith_n yea_o and_o as_o zealous_o to_o contend_v for_o the_o same_o as_o for_o any_o other_o thing_n as_o be_v the_o apostle_n of_o christ_n in_o who_o the_o true_a spirit_n of_o light_n be_v as_o appear_v by_o their_o write_n for_o that_o a_o great_a part_n of_o it_o consist_v of_o matter_n tend_v to_o the_o instruction_n and_o regulation_n of_o the_o saint_n concern_v their_o faith_n as_o in_o read_v be_v observable_a wherefore_o for_o the_o remove_n all_o doubt_n and_o scruple_n which_o through_o the_o subtlety_n of_o the_o deceive_v quaker_n possible_o may_v arise_v or_o already_o be_v rise_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o any_o well-minded_a people_n i_o here_o next_o offer_v a_o little_a of_o that_o much_o which_o may_v be_v say_v touch_v principle_n of_o faith_n the_o error_n whereof_o be_v abundant_o
