scripture_n which_o be_v more_o than_o probable_o relate_v as_o by_o this_o faith_n a_o man_n can_v receive_v doctrine_n of_o instruction_n out_o of_o philosopher_n book_n so_o by_o the_o same_o faith_n he_o may_v receive_v doctrine_n of_o instruction_n out_o of_o the_o scripture_n read_v a_o relation_n of_o the_o fall_n of_o man_n of_o the_o recovery_n by_o christ_n that_o there_o be_v no_o other_o way_n to_o life_n etc._n etc._n this_o faith_n can_v believe_v the_o relation_n of_o these_o thing_n as_o well_o as_o it_o can_v believe_v the_o relation_n of_o other_o thing_n 2._o this_o be_v believe_v from_o the_o relation_n of_o the_o history_n of_o these_o thing_n this_o natural_o set_v all_o the_o power_n of_o man_n on_o work_n kindle_v the_o understanding_n will_v and_o affection_n towards_o the_o avoid_n of_o misery_n and_o the_o attain_n of_o happiness_n what_o will_v not_o a_o man_n do_v to_o avoid_v perpetual_a extremity_n of_o misery_n on_o soul_n and_o body_n of_o christ_n he_o will_v seem_v to_o do_v that_o to_o and_o say_v when_o he_o have_v do_v all_o he_o can_v he_o be_v but_o a_o unprofitable_a servant_n do_v the_o scripture_n say_v he_o can_v do_v nothing_o without_o the_o spirit_n he_o will_v acknowledge_v that_o too_o and_o he_o hope_v he_o have_v the_o spirit_n god_n have_v promise_v the_o spirit_n to_o they_o that_o ask_v it_o and_o he_o have_v ask_v long_o and_o ask_v still_o and_o therefore_o he_o hope_v he_o have_v it_o thus_o man_n by_o a_o natural_a faith_n grow_v up_o and_o spread_v into_o a_o great_a tree_n and_o be_v very_o which_o he_o thus_o give_v himself_o up_o and_o to_o which_o he_o thus_o bend_v himself_o with_o all_o his_o strength_n his_o affection_n more_o and_o more_o warm_v he_o will_v find_v a_o kind_n of_o life_n and_o growth_n in_o this_o according_a to_o its_o kind_n let_v a_o man_n heart_n be_v in_o any_o kind_n of_o study_n or_o knowledge_n apply_v himself_o strict_o to_o it_o he_o gather_v understanding_n in_o his_o mind_n and_o warmth_n in_o his_o affection_n so_o it_o be_v also_o here_o yea_o this_o being_n more_o excellent_a in_o itself_o must_v needs_o produce_v a_o more_o excellent_a understanding_n and_o a_o more_o excellent_a warmth_n and_o have_v a_o great_a power_n and_o influence_n upon_o the_o will_n 4._o now_o how_o easy_a be_v it_o for_o a_o man_n to_o mistake_v here_o and_o call_v this_o the_o truth_n first_o he_o mistake_v this_o for_o the_o true_a faith_n and_o then_o he_o mistake_v in_o apply_v to_o this_o all_o that_o which_o belong_v to_o the_o true_a faith_n and_o thus_o enter_v into_o the_o spirit_n of_o error_n at_o first_o he_o err_v in_o the_o whole_a course_n of_o his_o religion_n from_o the_o beginning_n to_o the_o end_n he_o see_v a_o change_n make_v by_o this_o in_o he_o and_o this_o he_o account_v the_o true_a conversion_n and_o regeneration_n this_o lead_v he_o to_o ask_v and_o seek_v and_o pray_v and_o this_o he_o count_v the_o true_a pray_v the_o true_a seek_n the_o true_a ask_n this_o cleanse_v after_o its_o kind_n his_o understanding_n will_n and_o affection_n and_o this_o he_o take_v for_o the_o true_a sanctification_n the_o justification_n which_o be_v to_o the_o true_a believer_n he_o also_o aplye_v to_o this_o faith_n and_o so_o he_o have_v a_o peace_n â—_z satisfaction_n a_o rest_n here_o and_o know_v not_o the_o nature_n of_o christ_n which_o be_v the_o christ_n be_v hide_v from_o that_o eye_n so_o it_o may_v have_v a_o literal_a knowledge_n of_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n and_o of_o justification_n but_o the_o life_n of_o the_o blood_n which_o live_o justify_v that_o birth_n can_v feel_v but_o can_v only_o talk_v of_o it_o according_a to_o the_o relation_n it_o read_v in_o the_o scripture_n so_o it_o may_v have_v a_o literal_a knowledge_n of_o sanctification_n but_o the_o thing_n that_o sanctify_v it_o can_v receive_v into_o itself_o so_o for_o redemption_n peace_n joy_n hope_v love_n etc._n etc._n it_o may_v get_v into_o the_o outward_a part_n of_o all_o these_o but_o the_o inward_a part_n the_o life_n the_o spirit_n of_o they_o it_o be_v shut_v out_o of_o and_o can_v touch_v or_o come_v near_o nor_o can_v it_o witness_v
and_o encourage_v man_n to_o harken_v after_o and_o wait_v for_o the_o voice_n but_o it_o be_v the_o immediate_a voice_n of_o christ_n in_o the_o soul_n which_o alone_o can_v quicken_v the_o soul_n to_o god_n and_o till_o the_o light_n of_o life_n shine_v immediate_o from_o christ_n in_o the_o heart_n the_o true_a knowledge_n be_v never_o give_v 2_o cor._n 4._o 6._o therefore_o they_o that_o
