public_a want_n be_v always_o know_v and_o may_v be_v express_v in_o the_o public_a liturgy_n also_o private_a want_n and_o blessing_n be_v for_o the_o most_o part_n know_v as_o at_o meat_n labour_n rest_n recreation_n physic_n etc._n etc._n secret_n want_n and_o blessing_n may_v be_v acknowledge_v in_o secret_a prayer_n if_o any_o extraordinary_a occasion_n occur_v extraordinary_a prayer_n according_o may_v be_v have_v they_o allege_v also_o against_o set_a prayer_n the_o speech_n of_o the_o apostle_n objection_n 8._o rom._n 8._o we_o know_v not_o what_o to_o pray_v but_o in_o a_o set_a latin_a prayer_n how_o papist_n abuse_v prayer_n a_o tongue_n which_o for_o the_o most_o part_n be_v not_o understand_v of_o they_o that_o say_v it_o and_o hardly_o well_o pronounce_v by_o the_o apostle_n say_v flat_o that_o all_o thing_n must_v be_v do_v to_o edification_n therefore_o prayer_n also_o which_o be_v some_o thing_n nay_o a_o chief_a and_o principal_a part_n of_o the_o public_a their_o prayer_n in_o a_o unknown_a language_n as_o latin_a they_o therefore_o abuse_v prayer_n that_o pray_v in_o latin_a not_o understand_v it_o 3_o last_o as_o have_v be_v say_v it_o be_v plain_a babble_n to_o speak_v any_o thing_n with_o the_o lip_n in_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n which_o a_o man_n understand_v not_o or_o desire_v not_o in_o the_o heart_n and_o mind_n 6.20_o 1._o cor._n 6.20_o for_o we_o must_v glorify_v god_n with_o the_o body_n and_o with_o the_o spirit_n both_o for_o they_o be_v both_o god_n by_o creation_n and_o redemption_n now_o to_o pray_v to_o god_n be_v a_o that_o say_v the_o lord_n prayer_n in_o latin_a not_o understanding_n latin_a abuse_v it_o thus_o than_o the_o papist_n abuse_v this_o prayer_n by_o say_v it_o in_o latin_a a_o tongue_n unknown_a to_o the_o people_n second_o the_o papist_n abuse_v this_o prayer_n especial_o by_o say_v it_o in_o number_n and_o number_v it_o upon_o their_o bead_n and_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o they_o say_v a_o whole_a beadrole_n of_o prayer_n as_o for_o example_n 30._o prayer_n pater_fw-la noster_n have_v mary_n cree_v etc._n etc._n which_o will_v be_v prove_v to_o be_v a_o manifest_a abuse_n of_o the_o lord_n prayer_n for_o first_o this_o be_v to_o babble_n for_o it_o can_v be_v that_o every_o man_n devotion_n shall_v last_v so_o long_o as_o the_o number_n of_o the_o prayer_n last_v for_o some_o weak_a christian_n fervency_n and_o zeal_n will_v not_o endure_v long_o than_o the_o say_n of_o the_o prayer_n twice_o or_o thrice_o over_o at_o which_o time_n he_o must_v cease_v say_v it_o for_o if_o he_o still_o continue_v say_v it_o without_o fervency_n and_o devotion_n and_o attention_n in_o a_o word_n without_o sense_n and_o feeling_n his_o say_n be_v babble_v only_o a_o liplabor_n which_o be_v abominable_a in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n 5.1.2_o matth._n 6.7_o eccles_n 5.1.2_o 2_o again_o our_o saviour_n christ_n condemn_v vain_a repetition_n and_o the_o wise_a preacher_n
