heed_n how_o we_o hear_v we_o must_v be_v judge_v by_o that_o we_o hear_v and_o that_o that_o we_o hear_v now_o negligent_o and_o careless_o god_n will_v make_v good_a at_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n we_o may_v shake_v off_o as_o profane_a spirit_n do_v the_o minister_n exhortation_n but_o will_v you_o shake_v off_o depart_v you_o curse_v at_o the_o latter_a day_n will_v you_o shake_v off_o that_o sentence_n you_o will_v not_o hear_v i_o and_o i_o will_v not_o hear_v you_o oh_o no_o therefore_o shake_v not_o that_o off_o now_o that_o will_v be_v make_v good_a then_o if_o thou_o word_n but_o he_o have_v a_o spiritual_a light_n to_o know_v what_o the_o thing_n be_v what_o repentance_n be_v and_o faith_n and_o love_n and_o hope_v and_o patience_n he_o know_v the_o thing_n and_o likewise_o he_o that_o have_v attend_v to_o purpose_n he_o can_v do_v the_o thing_n he_o not_o only_o know_v what_o he_o shall_v do_v but_o by_o the_o grace_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o attend_v upon_o the_o word_n of_o god_n he_o know_v how_o to_o do_v they_o grace_n teach_v he_o not_o only_o that_o he_o shall_v deny_v himself_o and_o live_v sober_o and_o righteous_o and_o godly_a but_o it_o teach_v he_o how_o to_o live_v sober_o and_o righteous_o and_o godly_a grace_n when_o we_o attend_v upon_o the_o word_n as_o we_o shall_v teach_v we_o to_o do_v the_o thing_n not_o only_o that_o we_o shall_v repent_v and_o pray_v etc._n etc._n but_o to_o do_v they_o it_o open_v the_o thing_n and_o give_v ability_n to_o do_v they_o and_o in_o the_o next_o place_n word_n those_o that_o attend_v as_o they_o shall_v do_v there_o be_v a_o spiritual_a echo_n in_o their_o soul_n to_o every_o thing_n that_o be_v teach_v that_o be_v when_o they_o be_v exhort_v to_o believe_v they_o answer_v lord_n i_o will_v believe_v lord_n i_o will_v hear_v i_o will_v repent_v and_o i_o will_v take_v heed_n of_o such_o sin_n by_o thy_o grace_n when_o god_n say_v seek_v my_o face_n lord_n thy_o face_n will_v i_o seek_v this_o be_v the_o answer_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n this_o echo_n where_o there_o be_v attention_n to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n by_o the_o spirit_n there_o be_v a_o echo_n to_o that_o the_o grace_n light_n they_o see_v thing_n by_o another_o light_n by_o a_o spirit_n of_o their_o own_o by_o a_o heavenly_a light_n by_o a_o species_n in_o their_o own_o kind_n spiritual_a thing_n with_o a_o spiritual_a light_n many_o come_v and_o hear_v sermon_n and_o can_v discourse_v and_o wrangle_v and_o maintain_v jangle_n of_o their_o own_o and_o all_o this_o out_o of_o natural_a part_n and_o out_o of_o pride_n of_o heart_n but_o a_o gracious_a holy_a man_n see_v spiritual_a thing_n by_o a_o spiritual_a light_n in_o their_o own_o kind_n a_o man_n that_o be_v bear_v in_o a_o dungeon_n and_o never_o see_v the_o light_n when_o he_o hear_v discourse_n of_o the_o sun_n and_o star_n and_o earth_n and_o flower_n and_o plant_n he_o that_o imagination_n what_o they_o shall_v be_v but_o he_o fancy_v other_o thing_n so_o a_o man_n that_o never_o have_v spiritual_a eyesight_n to_o see_v spiritual_a thing_n in_o their_o kind_n he_o fancy_v they_o to_o be_v this_o and_o that_o but_o he_o see_v they_o not_o by_o their_o own_o light_n many_o speak_v and_o talk_v of_o good_a thing_n but_o it_o be_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o other_o man_n out_o of_o book_n and_o hear_v and_o not_o by_o a_o spirit_n of_o their_o own_o he_o that_o attend_v by_o grace_n speak_v out_o of_o a_o spirit_n of_o his_o own_o and_o not_o out_o of_o other_o man_n spirit_n he_o see_v spiritual_a thing_n in_o their_o own_o colour_n thus_o we_o see_v how_o to_o discern_v spiritual_a attention_n and_o he_o that_o know_v what_o this_o mean_n profit_n what_o be_v it_o to_o have_v his_o heart_n open_v to_o attend_v when_o he_o go_v from_o hear_v the_o word_n he_o judge_v of_o his_o profit_v by_o it_o not_o by_o what_o he_o can_v say_v by_o heart_n but_o by_o how_o much_o the_o meek_a he_o be_v how_o much_o more_o patient_a how_o much_o more_o able_a to_o bear_v the_o cross_n to_o resist_v temptation_n and_o to_o have_v communion_n with_o god_n so_o he_o value_v his_o attend_v upon_o the_o mean_n and_o hear_v the_o word_n by_o the_o growth_n of_o his_o grace_n and_o the_o decay_n of_o his_o corruption_n she_o attend_v to_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v speak_v of_o paul_n and_o she_o be_v baptize_v and_o her_o household_n salvation_n she_o have_v the_o mean_n of_o salvation_n and_o she_o have_v the_o seal_n likewise_o which_o be_v baptism_n we_o have_v all_o need_n of_o seal_n we_o have_v need_v to_o have_v our_o faith_n strengthen_v god_n know_v it_o betthen_v we_o ourselves_o we_o think_v baptism_n and_o the_o communion_n small_a matter_n but_o god_n know_v how_o prone_a we_o be_v to_o stagger_v he_o know_v that_o all_o seal_n be_v little_a enough_o therefore_o it_o be_v say_v here_o she_o be_v baptize_v and_o all_o her_o household_n baptism_n be_v a_o solemn_a thing_n it_o be_v the_o seal_n of_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n you_o be_v well_o enough_o acquaint_v i_o imagine_v with_o the_o thing_n therefore_o i_o will_v not_o enter_v into_o the_o common_a place_n it_o be_v needless_a as_o the_o whole_a trinity_n

you_o have_v judge_v i_o faithful_a it_o imply_v that_o s._n paul_n and_o holy_a man_n will_v be_v more_o strange_a else_o and_o so_o there_o shall_v not_o be_v intimate_a familiarity_n converse_n there_o may_v be_v but_o not_o familaritie_n with_o those_o that_o be_v not_o faithful_a indifferent_a carriage_n to_o all_o alike_o show_v a_o rot_a heart_n those_o that_o make_v no_o difference_n between_o good_a christian_n and_o formal_a hypocrite_n no_o but_o if_o you_o have_v judge_v i_o faithful_a come_v to_o my_o house_n as_o if_o she_o have_v say_v i_o know_v your_o spirit_n be_v such_o that_o except_o you_o judge_v i_o faithful_a you_o will_v not_o take_v this_o courtesy_n at_o my_o hand_n entreat_v again_o she_o suppose_v if_o paul_n judge_v her_o faithful_a he_o will_v not_o deny_v she_o that_o courtesy_n those_o that_o upon_o good_a ground_n we_o judge_v faithful_a we_o shall_v be_v gentle_a to_o they_o and_o easy_a to_o be_v entreat_v the_o wisdom_n that_o be_v from_o above_o be_v so_o grace_n sweetness_n the_o carriage_n and_o alter_v a_o man_n disposition_n those_o that_o have_v feel_v pity_n from_o god_n be_v merciful_a to_o other_o therefore_o if_o you_o have_v judge_v i_o faithful_a etc._n etc._n it_o be_v a_o argument_n of_o a_o great-deale_a of_o sincerity_n to_o appeal_v to_o their_o knowledge_n and_o judgement_n if_o you_o have_v judge_v i_o faithful_a if_o she_o have_v not_o be_v sincere_a she_o will_v not_o have_v do_v so_o but_o sincerity_n make_v a_o man_n bold_a to_o appeal_v to_o god_n himself_o lord_n thou_o know_v that_o i_o love_v thou_o say_v s._n peter_n and_o if_o there_o be_v any_o iniquity_n in_o my_o heart_n say_v david_n they_o dare_v appeal_v to_o god_n and_o to_o god_n people_n if_o you_o have_v judge_v i_o faithful_a in_o this_o speech_n likewise_o she_o desire_v to_o have_v confirmation_n of_o her_o estate_n from_o the_o apostle_n weak_a and_o indeed_o it_o be_v a_o great_a confirmation_n of_o weak_a christian_n to_o have_v the_o judgement_n of_o strong_a christian_n that_o they_o be_v good_a if_o you_o have_v judge_v i_o faithful_a do_v i_o this_o courtesy_n and_o will_v it_o not_o comfort_v her_o soul_n to_o have_v the_o judgement_n of_o so_o strong_a a_o man_n as_o paul_n it_o be_v a_o great_a strengthen_n not_o only_a to_o have_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n witness_n for_o we_o but_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o other_o and_o sometime_o in_o temptation_n the_o judgement_n of_o other_o will_v do_v we_o more_o good_a than_o our_o own_o in_o a_o dark_a state_n therefore_o we_o shall_v appeal_v to_o those_o that_o fear_n god_n to_o judge_v we_o faithful_a though_o we_o be_v in_o a_o mist_n and_o in_o darkness_n sometime_o that_o we_o be_v not_o able_a to_o judge_v of_o our_o own_o condition_n and_o indeed_o when_o we_o judge_v the_o people_n to_o be_v true_o good_a christian_n and_o true_a heart_a to_o god_n we_o owe_v they_o this_o duty_n to_o think_v they_o good_a people_n and_o to_o show_v it_o it_o be_v a_o debt_n we_o wrong_v good_a person_n when_o we_o take_v wrong_a conceit_n of_o they_o shall_v we_o not_o affect_v and_o love_v they_o that_o god_n love_v it_o be_v as_o if_o she_o have_v say_v god_n have_v take_v i_o into_o his_o family_n and_o will_v admit_v i_o to_o heaven_n and_o will_v not_o you_o come_v to_o my_o house_n when_o christ_n shall_v take_v man_n to_o be_v member_n of_o his_o body_n shall_v not_o we_o take_v they_o into_o our_o company_n it_o be_v a_o wrong_n to_o good_a people_n to_o be_v strange_a to_o they_o sometime_o there_o may_v by_o way_n of_o censure_n in_o some_o sin_n be_v a_o little_a strangeness_n but_o ordinary_a stangnesse_n become_v not_o christian_n it_o become_v not_o that_o sweet_a bond_n the_o communion_n of_o saint_n if_o you_o have_v judge_v i_o faithful_a that_o be_v the_o bond_n her_o invitation_n be_v come_v to_o my_o house_n and_o and_o abide_v there_o you_o see_v many_o sweet_a grace_n present_o after_o she_o believe_v invitation_n here_o be_v a_o love_a heart_n why_o do_v she_o desire_v they_o to_o come_v to_o her_o house_n love_n to_o express_v the_o love_n she_o do_v bear_v to_o they_o for_o their_o work_n sake_n she_o feel_v the_o love_n of_o christ_n by_o their_o ministry_n and_o now_o she_o desire_v to_o express_v the_o fruit_n of_o her_o love_n in_o maintain_v they_o and_o not_o only_o so_o but_o she_o desire_v to_o be_v edify_v by_o they_o instruct_v she_o be_v yong_o plant_v and_o she_o desire_v to_o be_v water_v from_o they_o she_o know_v paul_n will_v drop_v heavenly_a thing_n and_o give_v she_o that_o that_o may_v establish_v she_o therefore_o she_o desire_v that_o they_o will_v stay_v at_o her_o house_n that_o she_o may_v have_v benefit_n by_o their_o heavenly_a discourse_n and_o be_v build_v up_o and_o edify_v further_o and_o further_o so_o you_o see_v these_o two_o grace_n especial_o upon_o believe_v a_o bountiful_a love_a heart_n she_o entreat_v they_o not_o only_o to_o come_v duty_n of_o hospitality_n and_o bounty_n by_o love_n when_o it_o have_v wrought_v that_o holy_a affection_n it_o work_v by_o that_o holy_a affection_n you_o see_v here_o it_o be_v never_o without_o fruit_n present_o faith_n bring_v forth_o fruit_n as_o soon_o as_o she_o be_v baptize_v she_o show_v her_o love_n to_o the_o apostle_n and_o their_o company_n and_o her_o bounty_n and_o her_o boldness_n in_o the_o cause_n of_o christ._n we_o say_v of_o a_o graft_n it_o be_v graft_v to_o purpose_n if_o it_o take_v and_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n so_o she_o be_v a_o new_a sience_n graft_v into_o christ_n she_o take_v present_o as_o soon_o as_o she_o be_v baptize_v into_o christ_n here_o be_v the_o fruit_n of_o love_n and_o bounty_n and_o boldness_n in_o the_o cause_n of_o christ._n zacheus_n as_o soon_o as_o ever_o he_o believe_v half_o my_o good_n i_o give_v to_o the_o poor_a so_o we_o see_v the_o gaoler_n afterward_o present_o upon_o believe_v he_o entertain_v the_o apostle_n with_o a_o feast_n and_o wash_v their_o wound_n take_v heed_n of_o a_o barren_a dead_a faith_n it_o be_v a_o false_a faith_n if_o thou_o believe_v indeed_o faith_n will_v work_v love_n and_o work_v by_o love_n as_o it_o do_v in_o this_o bless_a woman_n her_o faith_n knit_v she_o to_o christ_n in_o heaven_n her_o love_n be_v as_o the_o branch_n of_o the_o tree_n her_o faith_n knit_v she_o to_o the_o root_n but_o love_n as_o the_o branch_n reach_v to_o other_o her_o branch_n reach_v fruit_n to_o the_o apostle_n and_o his_o company_n so_o it_o be_v the_o nature_n of_o faith_n that_o knit_v we_o to_o christ_n the_o same_o spirit_n of_o love_n knit_v we_o to_o other_o and_o reach_v forth_o fruit_n to_o all_o we_o converse_v with_o love_n as_o we_o desire_v to_o have_v evidence_n of_o the_o soundness_n of_o our_o faith_n let_v we_o see_v what_o spirit_n of_o love_n we_o have_v especial_o love_v to_o these_o three_o thing_n christ._n love_v to_o christ_n to_o who_o we_o be_v ingraft_v and_o love_n to_o the_o minister_n of_o christ._n we_o can_v show_v kindness_n to_o christ_n he_o be_v in_o heaven_n but_o his_o minister_n member_n and_o his_o poor_a be_v upon_o the_o earth_n when_o we_o can_v buy_v ointment_n to_o pour_v on_o christ_n foot_n his_o poor_a member_n and_o his_o minister_n and_o love_v to_o the_o word_n of_o
then_o prayer_n be_v cry_v they_o be_v dart_v out_o of_o the_o heart_n as_o it_o be_v to_o heaven_n it_o be_v say_v christ_n make_v strong_a cry_n in_o extremity_n prayer_n be_v cry_v hence_o i_o observe_v brief_o these_o thing_n that_o god_n suffer_v man_n to_o fall_v into_o extreme_a ill_n even_o to_o the_o gate_n misery_n of_o death_n that_o there_o be_v but_o a_o step_n between_o they_o and_o death_n why_o to_o wean_v they_o perfect_o from_o the_o world_n 1_o to_o make_v they_o more_o thankful_a when_o they_o recover_v for_o what_o be_v the_o reason_n that_o man_n be_v so_o sleight_v the_o time_n of_o health_n therefore_o he_o go_v bold_o to_o god_n as_o a_o father_n in_o the_o time_n of_o extremity_n god_n child_n can_v answer_v god_n deal_v for_o as_o he_o bring_v his_o child_n to_o extremity_n when_o there_o be_v no_o second_o cause_n to_o help_v so_o they_o answer_v he_o by_o faith_n in_o extremity_n when_o there_o be_v nothing_o to_o trust_v unto_o they_o trust_v he_o when_o there_o be_v no_o physic_n in_o the_o world_n that_o can-charme_n the_o disease_n they_o have_v a_o spirit_n of_o faith_n to_o answer_v god_n deal_v in_o the_o great_a misery_n as_o job_n faith_n though_o he_o kill_v i_o yet_o will_v i_o trust_v in_o he_o for_o god_n be_v not_o tie_v to_o second_o cause_n and_o therefore_o if_o he_o have_v delight_n in_o we_o and_o if_o he_o have_v any_o service_n for_o we_o to_o do_v he_o can_v recover_v we_o from_o the_o gate_n of_o death_n nay_o from_o death_n itself_o as_o we_o see_v christ_n in_o the_o gospel_n raise_v from_o the_o dead_a and_o at_o the_o resurrection_n he_o will_v raise_v we_o from_o death_n much_o more_o can_v he_o raise_v we_o from_o the_o gate_n of_o death_n when_o we_o be_v near_o death_n pray_v therefore_o consider_v that_o praâ—er_n be_v a_o remedy_n in_o all_o malady_n in_o a_o remediless_a estate_n let_v we_o labour_n to_o have_v a_o spirit_n of_o prayer_n and_o to_o be_v in_o such_o a_o state_n as_o we_o may_v pray_v sin_n what_o state_n be_v that_o first_o take_v heed_n of_o be_v in_o league_n with_o any_o sin_n if_o i_o regard_v iniquity_n in_o my_o heart_n god_n will_v not_o hear_v my_o prayer_n nay_o he_o will_v not_o hear_v other_o prayer_n for_o we_o oh_o what_o a_o pitiful_a state_n be_v it_o when_o god_n will_v not_o hear_v we_o nor_o other_o for_o we_o pray_v not_o for_o this_o people_n say_v god_n to_o jeremiah_n and_o if_o noah_n daniel_n and_o job_n stand_v before_o i_o they_o shall_v but_o deliver_v their_o own_o soul_n if_o a_o man_n be_v in_o a_o peremptory_a course_n of_o sin_n and_o will_v not_o be_v reclaim_v but_o be_v like_o the_o deaf_a adder_n that_o will_v not_o be_v charm_v god_n will_v not_o hear_v prayer_n for_o he_o will_v god_n hear_v a_o rebel_n when_o he_o come_v to_o he_o for_o mercy_n and_o be_v in_o a_o course_n opposite_a to_o god_n will_v as_o if_o a_o traitor_n shall_v come_v to_o sue_v for_o pardon_n with_o a_o dagger_n in_o his_o hand_n which_o be_v to_o increase_v the_o treason_n so_o when_o a_o man_n come_v to_o god_n and_o cry_n to_o he_o and_o yet_o purpose_v to_o live_v in_o sin_n and_o his_o conscience_n tell_v he_o that_o he_o offer_v violence_n to_o god_n by_o his_o sin_n and_o life_n in_o rebellious_a course_n god_n will_v not_o hear_v his_o prayer_n we_o again_o if_o we_o will_v be_v in_o such_o a_o state_n as_o god_n may_v accept_v we_o when_o we_o come_v to_o he_o let_v we_o hear_v god_n when_o he_o cry_v to_o we_o he_o cry_v to_o we_o in_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n wisdom_n have_v lift_v up_o her_o voice_n and_o this_o be_v god_n course_n he_o will_v hear_v we_o when_o we_o hear_v he_o he_o that_o turn_v his_o ear_n from_o hear_v of_o the_o law_n his_o prayer_n shall_v be_v abominable_a those_o that_o do_v not_o attend_v upon_o god_n ordinance_n that_o will_v have_v a_o kind_n of_o devotion_n private_a to_o themselves_o &_o avoid_v the_o public_a ordinance_n that_o fear_v perhaps_o they_o shall_v hear_v somewhat_o that_o will_v awaken_v their_o conscience_n and_o they_o will_v not_o be_v torment_v before_o their_o time_n let_v they_o consider_v it_o be_v a_o terrible_a speech_n of_o solomon_n he_o that_o turn_v his_o ear_n from_o hear_v the_o law_n his_o prayer_n shall_v be_v abominable_a let_v we_o take_v heed_n it_o be_v a_o fearful_a thing_n to_o be_v in_o such_o a_o the_o deliverance_n of_o the_o city_n oh_o but_o let_v all_o that_o have_v the_o spirit_n of_o prayer_n that_o have_v any_o familiarity_n with_o god_n prayer_n improve_v all_o their_o interest_n in_o heaven_n at_o this_o time_n do_v we_o not_o conceive_v what_o danger_n we_o be_v in_o what_o enemy_n we_o have_v provoke_v what_o if_o we_o be_v free_a from_o the_o sickness_n be_v we_o not_o in_o great_a danger_n of_o worse_a matter_n thâ—n_v the_o sickness_n be_v it_o not_o worse_o to_o fall_v into_o the_o hand_n of_o our_o enemy_n have_v we_o not_o great_a provoke_v cruel_a idolatrous_a enemy_n therefore_o let_v we_o joint_o now_o all_o cry_n
he_o let_v it_o go_v on_o till_o the_o physic_n have_v wrought_v well_o &_o carry_v away_o the_o malignant_a matter_n that_o he_o may_v be_v the_o better_a for_o it_o and_o that_o he_o be_v a_o love_a and_o tender_a physician_n yet_o so_o god_n when_o we_o be_v in_o trouble_n it_o be_v as_o physic_n we_o cry_v but_o god_n he_o turn_v the_o glass_n as_o the_o physician_n do_v nay_o this_o time_n prayer_n unrepented_a of_o and_o thou_o cry_v and_o cry_v but_o thy_o sin_n cry_v loud_a thy_o pride_n or_o thy_o oppression_n cry_v thy_o wicked_a course_n cry_v thou_o cry_v unto_o god_n and_o it_o be_v a_o strange_a manner_n of_o cure_n for_o god_n to_o cure_v by_o his_o word_n by_o his_o command_n it_o show_v that_o god_n have_v a_o universal_a command_n of_o all_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n thing_n in_o heaven_n and_o earth_n over_o devil_n and_o over_o sickness_n as_o it_o be_v say_v in_o the_o gospel_n he_o rebuke_v the_o sickness_n he_o can_v rebuke_v the_o ague_n the_o devil_n be_v at_o his_o word_n the_o whale_n the_o sea_n when_o christ_n rebuke_n it_o obey_v it_o shall_v teach_v we_o not_o to_o displease_v this_o god_n god_n that_o can_v strike_v we_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o our_o sin_n even_o with_o a_o word_n let_v we_o fear_v this_o god_n put_v case_n we_o have_v no_o enemy_n in_o the_o world_n god_n can_v arm_v a_o man_n humour_n against_o he_o he_o can_v they_o be_v go_v present_o therefore_o let_v we_o not_o offend_v this_o great_a god_n that_o be_v commander_n of_o heaven_n and_o earth_n let_v we_o labour_n to_o please_v he_o and_o it_o be_v no_o matter_n who_o else_o we_o displease_v for_o he_o have_v all_o thing_n at_o his_o command_n even_o the_o heart_n of_o king_n as_o the_o river_n of_o water_n when_o esau_n seek_v for_o jacob_n to_o hurt_v he_o there_o be_v a_o secret_a command_n god_n set_v upon_o he_o to_o love_v he_o therefore_o we_o shall_v fear_v he_o and_o all_o other_o thing_n shall_v fear_v we_o we_o need_v fear_v nothing_o so_o we_o have_v a_o care_n to_o fear_n god_n further_o than_o in_o god_n and_o for_o god_n but_o not_o so_o to_o fear_v they_o as_o to_o do_v evil_a for_o they_o and_o offend_v the_o great_a god_n that_o can_v with_o a_o word_n command_v sickness_n to_o come_v or_o bid_v it_o be_v go_v again_o in_o that_o god_n when_o all_o second_o cause_n fail_v can_v heal_v by_o his_o word_n power_n therefore_o let_v we_o never_o be_v discourage_v from_o pray_v though_o we_o see_v a_o hurly-burly_n and_o tumult_n in_o the_o church_n though_o we_o see_v all_o europe_n in_o combustion_n and_o the_o church_n drive_v into_o a_o narrow_a corner_n let_v we_o not_o give_v over_o prayer_n for_o christ_n that_o with_o a_o word_n command_v the_o wave_n to_o be_v still_o and_o the_o devil_n
