then_o be_v spiritual_a because_o without_o contradiction_n they_o shall_v obey_v the_o motion_n of_o the_o spirit_n the_o body_n shall_v be_v no_o burden_n no_o prison_n no_o impediment_n to_o the_o soul_n as_o now_o it_o be_v the_o soul_n shall_v carry_v the_o body_n where_o it_o will_v without_o resistance_n where_o now_o it_o be_v earthly_a heavy_a and_o tend_v downward_o it_o shall_v then_o jerusalem_n that_o you_o have_v make_v a_o covenant_n with_o death_n and_o it_o shall_v not_o come_v near_o you_o then_o go_v on_o in_o your_o security_n and_o do_v that_o which_o be_v good_a in_o disobedience_n and_o warn_v we_o in_o time_n to_o fly_v to_o the_o mountain_n of_o his_o salvation_n yet_o alas_o so_o loath_a be_v we_o to_o forsake_v our_o old_a fin_n that_o the_o lord_n be_v one_o manner_n of_o way_n to_o the_o godly_a for_o first_o their_o concupiscence_n be_v compare_v to_o a_o mother_n that_o conceive_v and_o travail_v continual_o without_o rest_n till_o it_o bring_v out_o sin_n and_o sin_n be_v finish_v be_v compare_v in_o like_a manner_n to_o a_o mother_n that_o bring_v out_o death_n and_o second_o the_o imagination_n of_o their_o hart_n be_v compare_v to_o a_o mother_n which_o conceive_v cruel_a counsel_n and_o mischievous_a device_n against_o the_o godly_a all_o their_o day_n they_o travail_v with_o this_o birth_n and_o will_v fain_o have_v it_o bring_v out_o to_o perfection_n but_o at_o length_n they_o bring_v forth_o a_o lie_n for_o the_o malice_n of_o the_o wicked_a shall_v slay_v himself_o 7._o his_o mischief_n shall_v turn_v upon_o his_o own_o head_n and_o his_o cruelty_n shall_v fall_v upon_o his_o own_o paâ—e_n godly_a but_o as_o for_o the_o child_n of_o god_n they_o travail_n in_o pain_n of_o the_o monstrous_a birth_n of_o sin_n that_o be_v within_o they_o not_o that_o they_o be_v desirous_a to_o perfect_a and_o finish_v it_o but_o to_o destroy_v and_o abolish_v it_o as_o be_v a_o monster_n within_o they_o which_o they_o abhor_v the_o desire_n of_o his_o best_a creature_n by_o instinct_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o grace_n so_o that_o we_o have_v here_o first_o a_o description_n of_o god_n child_n they_o be_v such_o as_o have_v receive_v the_o first_o fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n second_o a_o twofold_a effect_n which_o this_o holy_a spirit_n work_v in_o god_n child_n first_o a_o weariness_n of_o their_o present_a bondage_n and_o servitude_n of_o sin_n second_o a_o wait_a by_o a_o constant_a expectation_n for_o a_o better_a and_o this_o do_v very_o much_o confirm_v the_o apostle_n purpose_n there_o be_v none_o on_o earth_n who_o can_v better_a judge_v the_o excellency_n of_o that_o glory_n to_o come_v than_o they_o who_o have_v receive_v the_o first_o fruit_n thereof_o out_o of_o all_o doubt_n the_o testimony_n of_o any_o one_o who_o have_v taste_v of_o that_o joy_n to_o come_v be_v more_o worth_a to_o commend_v it_o than_o be_v the_o contrary_a judgement_n of_o a_o thousand_o other_o to_o disprove_v it_o and_o not_o only_o the_o creature_n together_o the_o apostle_n proceed_v from_o the_o testimony_n of_o the_o creature_n to_o the_o testimony_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n when_o he_o speak_v of_o the_o creature_n he_o say_v they_o sigh_v and_o groan_v with_o we_o they_o travail_v together_o in_o pain_n with_o we_o and_o when_o he_o speak_v of_o the_o godly_a he_o say_v we_o sigh_v in_o ourselves_o as_o man_n be_v not_o make_v for_o himself_o but_o for_o the_o lord_n and_o therefore_o shall_v wait_v upon_o he_o so_o the_o creature_n be_v not_o make_v for_o themselves_o but_o for_o we_o and_o therefore_o where_o they_o be_v at_o covenant_n with_o we_o they_o in_o their_o kind_n wait_v upon_o we_o they_o go_v with_o we_o they_o groan_v with_o we_o be_v grieve_v with_o we_o and_o shall_v never_o rest_v till_o we_o be_v deliver_v let_v licentious_a man_n live_v in_o their_o sin_n mark_v this_o they_o sigh_v not_o in_o themselves_o with_o the_o godly_a yea_o they_o scorn_v down_o to_o hell_n and_o confound_v thou_o for_o ever_o the_o creature_n that_o groan_v with_o the_o godly_a shall_v be_v restore_v with_o they_o and_o thou_o shall_v not_o be_v restore_v o_o how_o shall_v thou_o be_v cast_v down_o when_o the_o earth_n whereupon_o thou_o tread_v shall_v be_v deliver_v into_o the_o glorious_a liberty_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o shall_v as_o a_o servant_n stand_v in_o the_o day_n of_o restitution_n but_o thou_o as_o a_o rebel_n shall_v be_v cast_v into_o utter_a darkness_n and_o shall_v not_o be_v so_o much_o as_o partaker_n of_o the_o deliverance_n of_o the_o creature_n but_o we_o also_o who_o have_v receive_v the_o first_o fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n godly_a in_o this_o description_n of_o the_o godly_a let_v we_o consider_v these_o three_o thing_n first_o that_o whatsoever_o grace_n we_o have_v we_o receive_v it_o second_o that_o grace_n we_o have_v receive_v be_v not_o full_a but_o in_o part_n for_o we_o have_v only_o receive_v the_o first_o fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o three_o that_o the_o first_o fruit_n which_o we_o have_v be_v sufficient_a pledge_n to_o we_o of_o the_o plenitude_n and_o fullness_n which_o afterward_o we_o shall_v receive_v the_o first_o of_o these_o learn_v we_o humility_n prayer_n what_o have_v thou_o o_o man_n which_o thou_o have_v not_o receive_v the_o lord_n dispense_v grace_n to_o every_o one_o according_a to_o his_o pleasure_n and_o we_o be_v but_o vessel_n fill_v and_o empty_v as_o he_o will_n second_o it_o learn_v we_o thankfulness_n whatsoever_o grace_n we_o have_v receive_v we_o shall_v return_v both_o the_o praise_n and_o the_o use_n of_o it_o to_o he_o who_o give_v it_o as_o the_o water_n by_o secret_a conduit_n come_v from_o the_o sea_n return_v again_o open_o into_o it_o through_o the_o troughe_n so_o that_o all_o man_n may_v see_v the_o return_v albeit_o they_o see_v not_o the_o come_n so_o that_o grace_n which_o the_o lord_n by_o his_o spirit_n secret_o convey_v to_o the_o godly_a do_v again_o public_o return_v unto_o he_o by_o praise_n and_o well_o do_v and_o three_o it_o do_v teach_v we_o diligence_n in_o prayer_n if_o we_o desire_v increase_v of_o grace_n we_o shall_v seek_v it_o from_o he_o of_o who_o we_o have_v the_o beginning_n and_o use_v all_o the_o mean_n such_o as_o hear_n read_v pray_v keep_v of_o a_o good_a conscience_n by_o which_o grace_n may_v grow_v and_o be_v entertain_v in_o us._n the_o next_o thing_n we_o observe_v be_v now_o that_o in_o this_o life_n we_o receive_v not_o the_o plenitude_n and_o fullness_n of_o grace_n but_o only_o the_o first_o fruit_n thereof_o the_o use_n of_o this_o be_v first_o to_o comfort_v the_o child_n of_o god_n who_o be_v oftentimes_o discourage_v with_o the_o sense_n and_o feel_n of_o their_o own_o want_n it_o be_v one_o of_o satan_n stratagem_n to_o try_v those_o by_o the_o rule_n of_o perfection_n who_o be_v yet_o but_o in_o the_o state_n of_o proficient_o beginning_n and_o we_o have_v need_v to_o beware_v of_o it_o shall_v i_o give_v that_o vantage_n
which_o they_o can_v cut_v away_o but_o if_o man_n take_v so_o much_o pain_n and_o suffer_v so_o straight_o a_o diet_n of_o body_n and_o bestow_v so_o great_a expense_n that_o they_o may_v live_v a_o short_a while_n long_o upon_o earth_n what_o shall_v man_n do_v that_o they_o may_v live_v for_o ever_o in_o heaven_n verse_n 24._o for_o we_o be_v save_v by_o hope_n but_o hope_v that_o be_v see_v
