god_n be_v a_o merciful_a and_o love_a father_n unto_o he_o nor_o with_o steadfast_a confidence_n look_v to_o receive_v the_o inheritance_n of_o the_o heavenly_a kingdom_n at_o his_o hand_n be_v not_o sin_n and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o that_o he_o cease_v not_o to_o be_v righteous_a and_o holy_a so_o farforth_o as_o he_o retain_v his_o holiness_n with_o affection_n and_o therefore_o if_o we_o have_v affliction_n reprobation_n and_o tribulation_n let_v we_o not_o think_v that_o god_n send_v they_o because_o he_o be_v our_o enemy_n but_o because_o he_o be_v our_o most_o love_a father_n the_o work_n with_o self-love_n for_o the_o love_n of_o himself_o and_o for_o his_o own_o profit_n but_o he_o that_o know_v himself_o to_o be_v become_v righteous_a by_o the_o merit_n and_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n which_o he_o make_v his_o own_o by_o faith_n labour_v happy_o and_o do_v good_a work_n all_o only_a for_o the_o love_n and_o glory_n of_o christ_n and_o not_o for_o love_v of_o himself_o nor_o to_o make_v himself_o righteous_a and_o thereupon_o it_o come_v that_o the_o true_a christian_a that_o be_v to_o wit_n he_o that_o account_v himself_o righteous_a by_o reason_n of_o christ_n righteousness_n ask_v not_o whether_o good_a work_n be_v command_v or_o not_o but_o be_v whole_o move_v and_o provoke_v with_o a_o certain_a violence_n of_o godly_a love_n he_o offer_v himself_o willing_o to_o do_v all_o the_o work_n that_o be_v holy_a and_o christian-like_a and_o never_o cease_v to_o do_v well_o he_o therefore_o which_o feel_v not_o the_o marvelous_a effect_n by_o his_o faith_n which_o we_o have_v heretofore_o declare_v that_o the_o inspire_a faith_n work_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o christian_a let_v he_o assure_v himself_o that_o he_o have_v not_o the_o be_v well_o assure_v that_o he_o be_v righteous_a i_o mean_v by_o faith_n and_o not_o by_o work_n therefore_o my_o dear_a belove_a brethren_n let_v we_o cease_v to_o speak_v that_o thing_n of_o the_o apostle_n s_o paul_n which_o he_o never_o once_o think_v of_o himself_o but_o fierce_o fight_v against_o it_o continual_o in_o answer_v such_o as_o measure_a righteousness_n by_o work_n and_o not_o by_o faith_n in_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n but_o beside_o these_o two_o authority_n of_o solomon_n and_o s._n paul_n a_o man_n may_v allege_v some_o other_o place_n of_o holy_a scripture_n which_o whereas_o they_o warn_v and_o encourage_v man_n to_o fear_n god_n seem_v to_o be_v contrary_a to_o the_o assurance_n of_o this_o our_o predestination_n and_o if_o i_o will_v declare_v they_o christian_a and_o this_o be_v already_o confirm_v by_o this_o that_o such_o manner_n of_o fearfulness_n be_v utter_o contrary_a to_o the_o spiritual_a cheerfulness_n and_o joy_n which_o be_v peculiar_a to_o the_o christian_a as_o the_o apostle_n s_o paul_n show_v open_o to_o the_o roman_n say_v that_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n be_v righteousness_n and_o peace_n and_o joy_n in_o 14._o the_o holy_a ghost_n that_o be_v to_o say_v that_o every_o man_n which_o enter_v into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o the_o gospel_n be_v become_v righteous_a through_o faith_n and_o afterward_o add_v peace_n of_o conscience_n which_o consequent_o breed_v such_o a_o spiritual_a and_o holy_a rest_n and_o gladness_n in_o respect_n whereof_o the_o same_o s._n paul_n do_v oftentimes_o
