faith_n stand_v strong_o and_o perseverantlie_o in_o i_o be_v steadfast_a abide_v my_o promise_n and_o thou_o shall_v have_v comfort_n in_o such_o time_n as_o it_o shall_v be_v most_o expedient_a for_o thou_o abide_v abaid_z and_o tarry_v for_o i_o and_o i_o shall_v come_v soon_o and_o help_v thou_o it_o be_v temptation_n that_o vex_v thou_o and_o a_o vain_a dread_n that_o fear_v thou_o much_o whether_o it_o be_v by_o love_n of_o thing_n present_a or_o by_o dread_n of_o thing_n to_o come_v therefore_o be_v thou_o not_o trouble_v neither_o drede_n but_o trust_v strong_o in_o i_o &_o in_o my_o mercy_n have_v perfect_a hope_n for_o when_o thou_o ween_v that_o thou_o be_v right_o far_o from_o i_o oft_o time_n i_o be_o right_a near_o unto_o thou_o and_o when_o thou_o ween_v that_o all_o be_v lose_v then_o oft_o time_n follow_v the_o great_a reward_n it_o be_v not_o therefore_o all_o lose_v though_o some_o thing_n happen_v against_o thy_o will_n and_o thou_o shall_v not_o judge_v therein_o after_o thy_o outward_a feelinge_n neither_o shall_v thou_o take_v any_o grief_n so_o sore_o to_o hart_n but_o that_o thou_o shall_v have_v good_a trust_n to_o escape_v it_o nor_o thou_o shall_v not_o think_v thyself_o all_o whole_o forsake_v of_o i_o though_o i_o send_v thou_o for_o a_o time_n some_o heaviness_n and_o trouble_n for_o that_o be_v the_o sure_a way_n to_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n and_o doubtless_o it_o be_v more_o expedient_a to_o thou_o and_o to_o other_o of_o my_o servant_n that_o you_o sometime_o be_v prove_v with_o adversity_n then_o that_o you_o have_v always_o all_o thing_n after_o your_o will_n i_o know_v the_o hide_a thought_n of_o man_n and_o that_o it_o be_v much_o expedient_a to_o the_o health_n of_o the_o soul_n that_o he_o be_v leave_v sometime_o to_o himself_o without_o ghostly_a savour_n or_o comfort_n lest_o haply_o he_o be_v raise_v up_o into_o pride_n and_o think_v himself_o better_a than_o he_o be_v that_o i_o have_v give_v i_o may_v take_v away_o and_o may_v restore_v it_o again_o when_o i_o shall_v listen_v when_o i_o geve_v a_o thing_n to_o any_o person_n it_o be_v i_o own_o that_o i_o have_v give_v and_o when_o i_o take_v it_o away_o again_o i_o take_v none_o of_o he_o for_o everye_o good_a gift_n and_o every_o perfect_a reward_n come_v of_o i_o if_o i_o send_v to_o thou_o trouble_v or_o heaviness_n in_o what_o wise_a soever_o it_o be_v take_v it_o glad_o &_o disdain_v it_o not_o neither_o let_v thy_o heart_n fail_v thou_o therein_o for_o i_o may_v anon_o lift_v thou_o up_o again_o and_o turn_v thy_o heaviness_n into_o great_a joy_n and_o ghostlye_o gladness_n and_o very_o i_o be_o righteous_a and_o much_o to_o be_v laud_a and_o praise_v when_o i_o do_v so_o with_o thou_o if_o thou_o understande_v a_o right_n and_o behold_v thyself_o true_o as_o thou_o be_v thou_o shall_v never_o be_v so_o direct_o heavy_a for_o any_o adversity_n but_o rather_o thou_o shall_v joy_n therein_o and_o think_v it_o as_o the_o great_a gift_n that_o i_o spare_v not_o to_o scourge_v thou_o with_o such_o trouble_n and_o adversity_n for_o i_o say_v to_o my_o disciple_n thus_o as_o my_o father_n love_v i_o i_o love_v you_o and_o yet_o i_o send_v they_o not_o forth_o into_o the_o world_n to_o have_v temporal_a joy_n but_o to_o have_v great_a battle_n not_o to_o have_v honour_n but_o despite_n not_o to_o be_v idle_a but_o to_o labour_v not_o to_o rest_v but_o to_o bring_v forth_o much_o good_a fruit_n in_o patience_n and_o good_a work_n my_o son_n remember_v well_o these_o word_n that_o i_o have_v speak_v to_o thou_o for_o they_o be_v true_a and_o can_v not_o be_v deny_v how_o we_o shall_v forget_v all_o creature_n that_o we_o may_v find_v our_o creator_n the_o .36_o chapter_n lord_n i_o have_v great_a need_n of_o thy_o grace_n &_o that_o of_o thy_o great_a singular_a grace_n or_o that_o i_o may_v come_v thither_o where_o no_o creature_n shall_v let_v nor_o hinder_v i_o from_o intent_n upwarde_o to_o god_n and_o nothing_o desire_v of_o the_o world_n it_o behove_v he_o therefore_o that_o will_v perfect_o forsake_v himself_o &_o behold_v thou_o to_o surmount_v all_o creature_n and_o himself_o also_o &_o through_o excess_n of_o mind_n to_o see_v and_o behold_v that_o thou_o maker_n of_o all_o thing_n haste_v nothing_o among_o all_o creature_n like_v unto_o thou_o &_o but_o a_o man_n be_v clear_o deliver_v from_o the_o love_n of_o creature_n he_o may_v not_o full_o tend_v to_o his_o creator_n and_o this_o be_v the_o great_a cause_n why_o there_o be_v so_o few_o contemplative_n that_o be_v to_o say_v because_o there_o be_v so_o few_o that_o willing_o will_v sequester_v themselves_o from_o the_o love_n of_o creature_n to_o contemplation_n be_v great_a grace_n require_v for_o it_o lift_v up_o the_o soul_n and_o ravish_v it_o up_o in_o spirit_n above_o itself_o and_o except_o a_o man_n be_v lift_v up_o in_o spirit_n above_o himself_o and_o be_v clearelie_o deliver_v from_o all_o creature_n as_o in_o his_o love_n and_o be_v perfect_o and_o full_o unite_v to_o god_n whatsoever_o he_o can_v or_o whatsoever_o he_o have_v either_o in_o virtue_n or_o cunning_n it_o be_v but_o little_a worth_n afore_o god_n therefore_o he_o shall_v have_v but_o little_a virtue_n &_o long_o shall_v he_o lie_v still_o in_o earthly_a likinge_n that_o account_v any_o thing_n great_a or_o worthy_a to_o be_v praise_v but_o only_o god_n for_o all_o other_o thing_n beside_o god_n be_v nought_o &_o for_o nought_o be_v to_o be_v account_v it_o be_v great_a difference_n between_o the_o wisdom_n of_o a_o devout_a man_n lighten_v by_o grace_n and_o the_o cunning_a of_o a_o subtle_a and_o studious_a clerk_n and_o that_o learning_n be_v much_o more_o noble_a and_o much_o more_o worthy_a that_o come_v by_o the_o influence_n and_o gracious_a gift_n of_o god_n than_o that_o that_o be_v get_v by_o the_o labour_n &_o study_v of_o man_n many_o desire_n to_o have_v the_o gift_n of_o contemplation_n but_o they_o will_v not_o use_v such_o thing_n as_o be_v require_v to_o contemplation_n and_o one_o great_a let_v of_o contemplation_n be_v that_o we_o stand_v so_o long_o in_o outward_a sign_n and_o in_o sensible_a thing_n &_o take_v no_o heed_n of_o perfect_a mortify_v our_o body_n to_o the_o spirit_n i_o wot_v not_o how_o it_o be_v nor_o with_o what_o spirit_n we_o be_v lead_v nor_o what_o we_o pretend_v we_o that_o be_v call_v spiritual_a person_n that_o we_o take_v great_a labour_n and_o study_v for_o transitory_a thing_n than_o we_o do_v to_o know_v the_o inward_a state_n of_o our_o own_o soul_n but_o alas_o for_o sorrow_n anon_o as_o we_o have_v make_v a_o little_a recollection_n to_o god_n we_o ten_o forth_o to_o outward_a thing_n and_o do_v not_o search_v our_o own_o conscience_n with_o due_a examination_n as_o we_o shall_v do_v nor_o we_o heed_n not_o where_o our_o affection_n rest_v new_a sorrow_n
