their_o name_n be_v so_o denote_v three_o he_o can_v be_v a_o quality_n for_o if_o the_o word_n and_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v quality_n and_o the_o father_n only_o a_o person_n or_o else_o the_o father_n and_o word_n person_n and_o only_o the_o holy_a ghost_n a_o quality_n yet_o the_o three_o can_v neither_o be_v one_o person_n nor_o one_o quality_n four_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v a_o person_n and_o be_v so_o far_o from_o be_v a_o quality_n in_o god_n that_o he_o have_v in_o himself_o the_o quality_n of_o know_v and_o understanding_n 1_o cor._n 2.11_o even_o so_o the_o thing_n of_o god_n know_v no_o man_n but_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o also_o of_o willing_a john_n 16.7_o 8._o 1_o cor._n 12.11_o but_o all_o these_o work_v that_o one_o and_o the_o selfsame_a spirit_n of_o four_o several_a scripture_n first_o be_v matth._n 28.19_o go_v you_o therefore_o and_o teach_v all_o nation_n baptise_v they_o in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o father_n and_o of_o the_o son_n and_o of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n if_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v not_o god_n why_o shall_v we_o be_v baptize_v into_o his_o name_n and_o ascribe_v unto_o he_o a_o share_n in_o the_o work_n of_o man_n power_n to_o communicate_v to_o our_o spirit_n and_o influence_n our_o soul_n with_o good_a thing_n yet_o the_o evil_a angel_n have_v the_o same_o power_n of_o nature_n and_o be_v first_o in_o possession_n may_v keep_v our_o soul_n in_o bondage_n till_o one_o that_o be_v strong_a cast_v they_o out_o luke_n 11.22_o 1_o john_n 4.4_o and_o therefore_o the_o holy_a spirit_n have_v so_o great_a a_o hand_n in_o this_o glorious_a work_n may_v right_o receive_v a_o share_n with_o other_o divine_a person_n of_o our_o acknowledgement_n of_o it_o which_o demonstrate_v that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n sanctify_v unto_o god_n and_o therefore_o the_o same_o spirit_n or_o holy_a ghost_n that_o dwell_v in_o we_o be_v god_n that_o dwell_v in_o we_o three_o scripture_n be_v 1_o john_n 5.7_o for_o there_o be_v three_o that_o bear_v record_n in_o heaven_n the_o father_n the_o word_n and_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o these_o three_o be_v one_o this_o scripture_n be_v so_o clear_a a_o evidence_n for_o the_o truth_n i_o be_o plead_v for_o that_o there_o have_v be_v some_o who_o will_v blot_v it_o out_o deny_v its_o authority_n to_o be_v equal_a with_o other_o scripture_n which_o i_o shall_v answer_v upon_o the_o face_n of_o the_o water_n i_o think_v we_o may_v safe_o say_v that_o the_o holy_a spirit_n do_v co-work_n with_o other_o divine_a person_n in_o the_o work_n of_o creation_n and_o be_v one_o of_o those_o person_n of_o who_o it_o be_v say_v let_v we_o make_v man_n in_o our_o image_n after_o our_o likeness_n etc._n etc._n so_o that_o from_o these_o scripture_n it_o be_v clear_a that_o the_o holy_a spirit_n do_v create_v and_o therefore_o we_o can_v deny_v his_o deity_n four_o the_o deity_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n be_v demonstrate_v by_o what_o be_v ascribe_v to_o he_o in_o the_o conception_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n and_o by_o the_o work_n that_o he_o accomplish_v through_o the_o power_n receive_v from_o he_o first_o jesus_n christ_n be_v conceive_v by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n luke_n 1.34_o then_o say_v mary_n unto_o the_o angel_n how_o shall_v this_o be_v see_v i_o know_v not_o a_o man_n verse_n 35._o and_o the_o angel_n answer_v and_o say_v unto_o she_o the_o holy_a ghost_n shall_v come_v upon_o thou_o and_o the_o power_n of_o the_o high_a shall_v overshadow_v thou_o therefore_o also_o that_o holy_a thing_n which_o shall_v be_v bear_v of_o thou_o shall_v be_v needless_a for_o the_o holy_a ghost_n to_o frame_v the_o body_n of_o our_o lord_n or_o else_o that_o the_o divine_a nature_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n be_v idle_a will_v you_o grant_v then_o which_o by_o this_o your_o reason_n must_v needs_o follow_v because_o christ_n be_v conceive_v by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n therefore_o god_n the_o father_n be_v idle_a and_o not_o the_o prime_a worker_n of_o this_o marvellous_a conception_n what_o be_v here_o cite_v out_o of_o this_o learned_a man_n sufficient_o show_v the_o weakness_n of_o this_o objection_n against_o the_o deity_n of_o jesus_n christ_n chap._n iu._n wherein_o be_v answer_v some_o objection_n against_o the_o scripture_n that_o prove_v the_o deity_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n objection_n to_o matth._n 28.19_o baptise_v they_o in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o father_n and_o of_o the_o son_n and_o of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n it_o can_v be_v right_o infer_v that_o because_o the_o holy_a spirit_n be_v here_o rank_v with_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n therefore_o he_o be_v equal_a to_o they_o by_o this_o account_n when_o the_o apostle_n 1_o tim._n 5.21_o say_v i_o charge_v thou_o gr._n i_o obtest_v before_o god_n and_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o the_o elect_a angel_n that_o thou_o observe_v these_o thing_n without_o prejudice_n do_v nothing_o by_o partiality_n join_v the_o elect_a angel_n with_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n this_o will_v imply_v that_o the_o elect_a angel_n be_v equal_a with_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n answer_n there_o be_v not_o the_o same_o reason_n to_o imply_v from_o this_o of_o timothy_n that_o the_o elect_a angel_n be_v equal_a to_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n as_o there_o be_v for_o the_o holy_a spirit_n be_v equality_n with_o they_o from_o matth._n 28._o for_o if_o we_o right_o consider_v these_o two_o scripture_n we_o may_v easy_o see_v that_o they_o be_v not_o parallel_n but_o that_o the_o holy_a spirit_n and_o the_o elect_a angel_n be_v join_v together_o with_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n upon_o far_o different_a account_n the_o one_o be_v rank_v together_o not_o as_o equal_v with_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n but_o because_o they_o be_v minister_a spirit_n that_o have_v their_o eye_n on_o the_o church_n of_o god_n and_o behold_v the_o order_n and_o discipline_n of_o it_o who_o work_n and_o office_n be_v to_o attend_v upon_o it_o and_o be_v familiar_a about_o it_o 1_o cor._n 11.10_o psal_n 34.7_o insomuch_o that_o we_o ought_v to_o be_v very_o careful_a of_o speak_v or_o do_v any_o unseemly_a thing_n that_o may_v hinder_v the_o ministration_n of_o those_o bless_a and_o holy_a spirit_n now_o for_o this_o cause_n paul_n exhort_v timothy_n to_o observe_v those_o thing_n as_o in_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n and_o of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o the_o holy_a angel_n and_o therefore_o they_o be_v rank_v together_o and_o not_o as_o equal_v in_o nature_n and_o divine_a worship_n for_o they_o refuse_v to_o assume_v that_o glory_n which_o be_v peculiar_o proper_a to_o god_n alone_o rev._n 22._o so_o that_o this_o text_n relate_v to_o the_o inspection_n of_o angel_n into_o the_o obedience_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o the_o way_n of_o which_o protection_n be_v minister_v to_o they_o by_o the_o angel_n who_o be_v say_v to_o encamp_v round_o about_o those_o that_o fear_v the_o lord_n psal_n 34.7_o or_o else_o the_o apostle_n show_v by_o rank_v these_o three_o together_o that_o the_o angel_n be_v witness_n to_o this_o charge_n though_o in_o all_o thing_n else_o they_o can_v be_v unless_o they_o can_v search_v the_o heart_n and_o try_v the_o reins_o and_o why_o may_v not_o the_o apostle_n take_v they_o in_o as_o witness_n as_o moses_n do_v who_o call_v heaven_n and_o earth_n viz._n god_n angel_n and_o man_n join_v they_o as_o witness_n against_o israel_n that_o he_o have_v set_v before_o they_o life_n and_o death_n etc._n etc._n deut._n 30.19_o but_o the_o holy_a spirit_n matth._n 28._o be_v not_o rank_v together_o with_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n only_o as_o a_o minister_a spirit_n or_o as_o one_o that_o bear_v witness_v together_o with_o they_o in_o any_o matter_n but_o to_o be_v equal_o honour_v with_o they_o both_o for_o in_o this_o ordinance_n of_o baptism_n wherein_o we_o worship_v god_n in_o acknowledge_v what_o he_o have_v do_v for_o we_o in_o order_n to_o salvation_n we_o be_v command_v to_o ascribe_v it_o to_o the_o father_n son_n and_o holy_a spirit_n and_o there_o be_v reason_n for_o it_o for_o though_o the_o father_n have_v accept_v the_o merit_n of_o his_o son_n on_o condition_n of_o true_a faith_n and_o repentance_n yet_o if_o the_o holy_a spirit_n have_v not_o undertake_v to_o work_v these_o condition_n in_o we_o we_o have_v be_v lose_v so_o that_o we_o be_v oblige_v both_o from_o the_o work_n itself_o and_o the_o command_n of_o god_n to_o attribute_v the_o same_o honour_n to_o the_o one_o as_o to_o the_o other_o and_o herein_o chief_o lie_v the_o difference_n of_o this_o text_n from_o that_o of_o timothy_n because_o this_o command_v divine_a worship_n to_o be_v give_v to_o the_o holy_a ghost_n together_o with_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n which_o declare_v his_o divine_a nature_n objection_n to_o isa_n 6.9_o 10._o compare_v with_o act_n 28.25_o 26_o 27._o to_o these_o two_o scripture_n i_o have_v meet_v with_o biddle_n objection_n state_v and_o answer_v ready_a to_o my_o hand_n by_o mr._n estwick_n in_o his_o confutation_n of_o biddle_n confession_n of_o faith_n page_n 307._o who_o word_n i_o shall_v prefer_v than_o to_o the_o man_n aforesaid_a i_o answer_v it_o be_v more_o than_o the_o text_n themselves_o hold_v forth_o which_o neither_o express_a nor_o intimate_v any_o such_o thing_n if_o they_o say_v that_o if_o not_o in_o these_o yet_o other_o text_n and_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o thing_n itself_o do_v sufficient_o teach_v it_o i_o reply_v that_o i_o can_v make_v the_o same_o answer_n touch_v the_o lord_n and_o his_o holy_a spirit_n but_o it_o be_v well_o that_o there_o be_v such_o a_o intimation_n in_o the_o text_n themselves_o for_o in_o the_o one_o the_o lord_n speak_v to_o isaiah_n in_o a_o vision_n in_o the_o other_o that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n speak_v they_o by_o isaiah_n to_o the_o father_n these_o two_o be_v different_a since_o isaiah_n only_o hear_v these_o word_n in_o the_o vision_n for_o have_v the_o father_n be_v there_o why_o shall_v god_n bid_v isaiah_n go_v and_o tell_v they_o to_o the_o people_n paul_n ascribe_v these_o word_n to_o the_o holy_a ghost_n to_o intimate_v only_o that_o whatsoever_o be_v speak_v in_o the_o scripture_n be_v record_v by_o the_o inspiration_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n and_o so_o speak_v by_o he_o answer_n your_o elusion_n to_o avoid_v the_o strength_n of_o the_o argument_n be_v vain_a and_o your_o example_n take_v out_o of_o the_o scripture_n be_v fallacia_fw-la parium_fw-la be_v unlike_a to_o this_o in_o hand_n sometime_o say_v see_v thou_o do_v it_o not_o for_o i_o be_o thy_o fellow-servant_n and_o of_o thy_o brethren_n worship_n god_n so_o likewise_o if_o christ_n have_v not_o be_v god_n by_o nature_n he_o will_v that_o the_o son_n of_o god_n be_v to_o be_v worship_v with_o divine_a worship_n as_o heb._n 1.6_o and_o again_o when_o he_o bring_v the_o first-begotten_a into_o the_o world_n he_o say_v and_o let_v all_o the_o angel_n of_o god_n worship_v he_o and_o rev._n 5.8_o 9_o the_o four_o beast_n or_o rather_o four_a live_a creature_n and_o four_o and_o twenty_o elder_n fall_v down_o before_o the_o lamb_n viz._n christ_n john_n 1.29_o have_v every_o one_o of_o they_o harp_n and_o golden_a vial_n full_a of_o odour_n which_o be_v the_o prayer_n of_o saint_n and_o they_o sing_v a_o new_a song_n say_v god_n be_v to_o be_v worship_v with_o divine_a worship_n that_o the_o son_n of_o god_n be_v to_o be_v worship_v with_o divine_a worship_n and_o the_o conclusion_n follow_v therefore_o he_o be_v god_n to_o what_o i_o have_v say_v by_o way_n of_o positive_a proof_n touch_v the_o deity_n of_o christ_n i_o shall_v not_o further_o add_v for_o there_o have_v be_v give_v plentiful_a and_o sufficient_a evidence_n from_o the_o word_n of_o god_n that_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n have_v undeniable_a mark_n of_o the_o divine_a nature_n upon_o he_o so_o that_o his_o deity_n can_v be_v deny_v without_o subvert_v the_o holy_a scripture_n which_o give_v he_o the_o same_o name_n prove_v his_o eternity_n render_v the_o same_o worship_n attribute_n the_o same_o work_n and_o assert_n he_o the_o same_o as_o god_n the_o father_n and_o if_o we_o can_v know_v he_o as_o god_n by_o these_o mark_n by_o what_o can_v we_o know_v he_o then_o and_o if_o these_o be_v insufficient_a how_o shall_v we_o know_v god_n the_o father_n for_o if_o the_o chief_a mark_n of_o the_o divine_a nature_n that_o be_v find_v on_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n be_v no_o proof_n of_o his_o exist_v in_o the_o same_o nature_n we_o may_v then_o question_v the_o deity_n of_o god_n the_o father_n who_o be_v only_o know_v and_o distinguish_v from_o all_o creature_n by_o these_o and_o the_o like_a attribute_n give_v to_o he_o and_o description_n of_o he_o so_o that_o i_o see_v no_o way_n to_o escape_v the_o powerful_a convince_a testimony_n of_o this_o truth_n if_o there_o be_v but_o a_o search_n after_o it_o unless_o we_o deny_v the_o authority_n of_o the_o holy_a scripture_n chap._n v._n wherein_o be_v prove_v the_o deity_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n as_o the_o scripture_n have_v give_v a_o clear_a testimony_n to_o the_o deity_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n so_o also_o they_o will_v afford_v we_o sufficient_a evidence_n of_o the_o deity_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n which_o i_o intend_v to_o demonstrate_v in_o this_o chapter_n and_o first_o i_o shall_v prove_v that_o the_o holy_a spirit_n be_v a_o divine_a person_n and_o not_o a_o quality_n in_o god_n first_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n speak_v of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n as_o a_o person_n john_n 14.16_o 17._o and_o i_o will_v pray_v the_o father_n and_o he_o shall_v give_v you_o another_o comforter_n that_o he_o may_v abide_v with_o you_o for_o ever_o even_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n who_o the_o world_n can_v receive_v because_o it_o see_v he_o not_o neither_o know_v he_o but_o you_o know_v he_o for_o he_o dwell_v with_o you_o and_o shall_v be_v in_o you_o chap._n 16.8_o and_o when_o he_o be_v come_v he_o will_v reprove_v the_o world_n of_o sin_n ver._n 13._o howbeit_o when_o he_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n be_v come_v he_o will_v guide_v you_o into_o all_o truth_n for_o he_o shall_v not_o speak_v of_o himself_o but_o whatsoever_o he_o shall_v hear_v that_o shall_v he_o speak_v and_o he_o will_v show_v you_o thing_n to_o
