understand_v the_o way_n of_o thy_o precept_n so_o shall_v i_o talk_v of_o thy_o wondrous_a work_n a_o three_o petition_n be_v for_o increase_v of_o understanding_n of_o the_o mystery_n of_o god_n who_o study_v not_o to_o serve_v god_n whence_o learn_v 1._o albeit_o the_o believer_n live_v on_o the_o earth_n yet_o he_o be_v not_o at_o home_n so_o long_o as_o he_o be_v on_o the_o earth_n i_o be_o a_o stranger_n in_o the_o earth_n 2._o whatsoever_o possession_n a_o godly_a man_n have_v in_o the_o earth_n be_v it_o a_o kingdom_n he_o shall_v be_v a_o stranger_n for_o the_o matter_n of_o estimation_n of_o or_o affection_n to_o any_o thing_n on_o earth_n i_o be_o a_o stranger_n in_o the_o earth_n 3._o acquaintance_n with_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v able_a to_o make_v up_o all_o the_o loss_n of_o the_o pilgrim_n and_o to_o season_v all_o his_o grief_n it_o be_v able_a to_o supply_v the_o room_n of_o friend_n and_o counsellor_n to_o furnish_v light_n joy_n strength_n food_n armour_n and_o defence_n and_o whatsoever_o else_o the_o pilgrim_n need_v for_o the_o lord_n word_n shall_v either_o bring_v all_o these_o good_a thing_n to_o the_o pilgrim_n or_o lead_v he_o to_o god_n where_o he_o shall_v find_v they_o all_o i_o be_o a_o stranger_n in_o the_o earth_n hide_v not_o thy_o commandment_n from_o i_o 4._o there_o be_v a_o hide_v of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n when_o mean_n to_o hear_v it_o explain_v by_o preacher_n be_v want_v and_o there_o be_v a_o hide_v of_o the_o comfortable_a and_o lively_a light_n of_o the_o spirit_n who_o must_v quicken_v the_o word_n unto_o we_o and_o from_o both_o those_o evil_n may_v we_o and_o shall_v we_o pray_v to_o be_v save_v hide_v not_o thy_o commandment_n from_o i_o 5._o albeit_o the_o godly_a be_v the_o dear_a soul_n unto_o god_n of_o all_o man_n in_o the_o world_n yet_o will_v he_o exercise_v they_o with_o heart-breaking_n especial_o for_o spiritual_a cause_n that_o so_o he_o may_v raise_v in_o they_o a_o estimation_n of_o his_o own_o presence_n and_o furnish_v work_n in_o the_o mean_a time_n to_o their_o faith_n my_o heart_n break_v for_o the_o longing_n which_o it_o have_v unto_o thy_o judgement_n 6._o it_o be_v not_o every_o faint_a and_o cold_a wish_n which_o make_v a_o believer_n profit_n in_o god_n school_n there_o must_v be_v some_o heat_n and_o earnestness_n in_o holy_a desire_n and_o this_o affection_n as_o it_o may_v not_o be_v cold_a so_o neither_o must_v it_o be_v fleet_v but_o constant_a my_o heart_n break_v for_o the_o longing_n which_o it_o have_v at_o all_o time_n 7._o these_o be_v proud_a man_n before_o god_n who_o be_v not_o penitent_a for_o their_o sin_n and_o be_v not_o subject_v to_o his_o obedience_n for_o so_o be_v they_o here_o call_v 8._o the_o word_n of_o god_n condemn_v the_o proud_a and_o pronounce_v a_o curse_n upon_o they_o so_o long_o as_o they_o continue_v proud_a and_o impenitent_a
