the_o preacher_n shall_v add_v repentance_n god_n exercise_v we_o with_o afliction_n to_o call_v we_o back_o to_o repentance_n that_o god_n when_o he_o exercise_v the_o fayhthfull_a with_o sundry_a afliction_n correct_v they_o fatherly_a and_o for_o their_o profit_n and_o draw_v they_o back_o to_o himself_o and_o to_o his_o son_n christ_n that_o they_o be_v not_o damn_v with_o the_o wicked_a world_n and_o that_o he_o love_v they_o nothing_o the_o worse_o who_o he_o punish_v with_o outward_a punishment_n and_o sore_a calamity_n for_o he_o be_v wont_a to_o begin_v his_o judgement_n from_o his_o own_o house_n and_o to_o chasten_v they_o who_o he_o love_v and_o in_o they_o to_o show_v to_o the_o world_n the_o vehemency_n of_o his_o wrath_n that_o other_o man_n be_v fray_v with_o these_o judgement_n and_o with_o this_o so_o great_a severity_n of_o god_n upon_o his_o own_o child_n shall_v forthynke_v the_o sin_n in_o which_o they_o stycke_n and_o amend_v and_o take_v more_o diligent_a heed_n afterward_o that_o they_o sin_n not_o thyrd_o the_o people_n must_v be_v teach_v concern_v this_o promise_n and_o threaten_v of_o god_n i_o will_v visit_v the_o iniquity_n of_o the_o father_n upon_o the_o child_n to_o the_o three_o and_o four_o generation_n etc_n that_o god_n will_v exercise_v godly_a other_o man_n goodness_n profit_v not_o the_o ungodlie_a nor_o other_o ungodliness_n hurt_v not_o the_o godly_a this_o revengeaunce_n which_o he_o threaten_v here_o to_o his_o dispicer_n be_v ungodlie_a parent_n and_o elder_n upon_o those_o child_n only_o which_o through_o their_o own_o wickedness_n have_v like_o wise_n well_o deserve_v the_o punishment_n that_o they_o suffer_v so_o that_o yet_o in_o this_o world_n they_o suffer_v much_o less_o then_o be_v due_a to_o their_o sin_n and_o perversitie_n so_o in_o like_a manner_n that_o no_o godliness_n of_o the_o parent_n and_o elder_n profit_v their_o child_n which_o be_v ungodlie_a themselves_o and_o continue_v in_o their_o ungodliness_n but_o that_o it_o profit_v they_o only_o which_o be_v inheriter_n of_o their_o elder_n godliness_n for_o this_o threat_n and_o promise_v of_o god_n can_v not_o be_v contrary_a to_o his_o oracle_n set_v forth_o by_o ezechiell_n that_o be_v to_o say_v that_o every_o father_n or_o child_n shall_v either_o perish_v through_o his_o own_o ungodliness_n or_o live_v through_o his_o own_o godliness_n and_o that_o the_o father_n shall_v not_o be_v well_o entreat_v for_o the_o son_n godliness_n nor_o ill_a for_o the_o son_n wickedness_n but_o that_o every_o man_n shall_v hear_v his_o own_o sin_n if_o he_o live_v ungodlie_a and_o shall_v enjoy_v his_o reward_n if_o he_o live_v godly_a for_o by_o reason_n of_o original_a sin_n all_o man_n be_v bear_v undre_a the_o wrath_n of_o the_o child_n of_o the_o ungodlie_a in_o the_o power_n of_o satan_n and_o therefore_o through_o their_o own_o mischevous_a act_n bring_v upon_o themselves_o so_o horrible_a punishment_n that_o the_o very_a world_n perceive_v the_o ungodliness_n of_o the_o parent_n to_o be_v punish_v in_o the_o child_n also_o nevertheless_o no_o wrong_n be_v do_v to_o those_o child_n neither_o be_v god_n to_o be_v accuse_v of_o iniquity_n seinge_v that_o they_o be_v evyll_n and_o the_o child_n of_o wrath_n by_o nature_n to_o who_o god_n can_v owe_v nothing_o but_o everlasting_a punishment_n so_o if_o god_n to_o come_v to_o god_n favour_n again_o and_o to_o worship_v he_o religious_o the_o preaching_n of_o the_o gospel_n must_v also_o be_v add_v for_o to_o be_v sorry_a for_o sin_n suffice_v not_o to_o rightuousnes_n before_o god_n though_o the_o sorrow_n be_v so_o vehement_a that_o it_o may_v consume_v and_o kyl_v a_o man_n as_o there_o be_v in_o judas_n but_o satisfaction_n for_o sin_n be_v also_o require_v and_o a_o sure_a trust_n of_o god_n mercy_n with_o a_o purpose_a amendment_n of_o life_n and_o a_o continual_a study_n of_o ryghtuousnes_n afterward_o but_o man_n can_v perform_v none_o of_o sin_n and_o not_o for_o our_o sin_n only_o but_o for_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o whole_a world_n he_z through_o the_o preaching_n of_o the_o gospel_n set_v forth_o and_o offer_v the_o riches_n of_o god_n grace_n and_o goodness_n and_o his_o own_o satisfaction_n for_o our_o sin_n and_o the_o gift_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o adoption_n and_o justifi_v deliver_v from_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n and_o make_v part_n taker_n of_o eternal_a life_n all_o those_o that_o with_o sure_a fay_v which_o he_o himself_o stear_v up_o and_o nourish_v in_o we_o acknowledge_v he_o and_o the_o father_n in_o he_o and_o this_o same_o his_o mercy_n redemption_n and_o satisfaction_n this_o be_v the_o thing_n that_o esaye_n preach_v that_o my_o righteous_a servant_n shall_v justify_v many_o through_o the_o which_o thing_n paul_n bewail_v of_o himself_o roma_n seven_o it_o be_v profitable_a that_o the_o people_n be_v often_o and_o plain_o admonish_v of_o this_o question_n for_o a_o great_a part_n of_o man_n be_v encumber_v in_o two_o error_n some_o be_v in_o perpetual_a doubt_n be_v uncertain_a whether_o their_o life_n or_o work_n please_v god_n and_o lyve_v in_o a_o heathnishe_a ungodliness_n for_o they_o can_v not_o call_v upon_o god_n but_o they_o flee_v his_o sight_n there_o be_v a_o very_a great_a multitude_n of_o this_o sort_n among_o man_n wherefore_o this_o heathnishe_a blindness_n of_o man_n must_v be_v diligent_o reprove_v an_o other_o arrogancy_n and_o trust_v of_o our_o own_o rightuousnes_n and_o work_n as_o be_v the_o error_n of_o that_o pharisee_n which_o in_o the_o must_v know_v that_o three_o thing_n be_v require_v hereunto_o that_o good_a work_n please_v god_n first_o that_o the_o man_n himself_o be_v acceptable_a to_o god_n and_o be_v justify_v free_o for_o christ_n sake_n second_o that_o it_o be_v requisite_a that_o a_o new_a life_n follow_v and_o obedience_n towards_o god_n though_o it_o be_v unperfecte_v and_o though_o much_o weakness_n and_o many_o vice_n remain_v in_o us._n wherefore_o we_o must_v remember_v that_o it_o be_v ever_o needful_a to_o ask_v forgyvenes_n of_o sin_n as_o christ_n teach_v we_o all_o to_o pray_v to_o the_o father_n other_o business_n and_o office_n of_o this_o life_n magistrate_n and_o wariar_n be_v exercise_v with_o sundry_a danger_n trouble_n and_o difficulty_n nevertheless_o if_o they_o execute_v their_o office_n after_o this_o manner_n and_o with_o such_o faith_n as_o we_o have_v speak_v of_o all_o such_o thing_n be_v worshippinge_n of_o god_n this_o be_v no_o small_a consolation_n to_o a_o godly_a unto_o god_n or_o with_o sin_n which_o be_v commit_v against_o a_o man_n conscience_n these_o thing_n appear_v plain_o by_o the_o very_a nature_n of_o faith_n for_o faith_n be_v that_o assent_n to_o the_o gospel_n out_o of_o which_o there_o arise_v a_o sure_a confidence_n of_o god_n mercy_n promise_v for_o christ_n sake_n but_o such_o a_o trust_n can_v not_o stand_v with_o a_o purpose_n of_o sin_v wherein_o there_o be_v a_o manifest_a comtempte_n of_o god_n and_o a_o undoubted_a provocation_n of_o god_n wrath_n by_o reason_n of_o this_o fight_v between_o faith_n and_o sin_n paul_n say_v that_o what_o so_o ever_o be_v not_o of_o fay_v be_v sin_n signifi_v that_o the_o nature_n of_o faith_n be_v such_o that_o it_o bring_v forth_o good_a fruit_n of_o itself_o wherefore_o when_o a_o promise_v that_o his_o church_n shall_v continue_v here_o unto_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n therefore_o for_o this_o purpose_n that_o his_o church_n may_v continue_v perpetual_o he_o deal_v forth_o sundry_a gift_n of_o his_o spirit_n and_o he_o gyve_v to_o his_o saint_n that_o through_o good_a work_n they_o deserve_v the_o increase_n of_o virtue_n accord_v to_o the_o word_n of_o christ_n there_o shall_v be_v give_v to_o he_o that_o have_v and_o seinge_v that_o in_o this_o life_n we_o have_v need_n of_o food_n peace_n lawful_a governaunce_n of_o the_o common_a weal_n health_n etc_n god_n add_v these_o thing_n also_o and_o recompense_v the_o good_a work_n of_o his_o therewith_o &_o yet_o with_o this_o moderation_n that_o nevertheless_o he_o hold_v still_o his_o church_n undre_fw-fr the_o cross_n of_o this_o reward_n of_o good_a work_n christ_n speak_v gyve_v and_o there_o it_o shall_v be_v give_v unto_o you_o and_o esaie_n xxxiij_o he_o that_o walk_v in_o his_o sake_n and_o when_o thou_o consider_v these_o thing_n with_o fay_v and_o have_v afterward_o confirm_v this_o sentence_n of_o faith_n in_o thy_o mind_n thou_o must_v exercise_v also_o the_o
