unless_o they_o communicate_v in_o some_o common_a matter_n so_o it_o seem_v god_n have_v ordain_v a_o law_n that_o invisible_a thing_n shall_v converse_v with_o thing_n visible_a in_o a_o shape_n as_o they_o be_v visible_a which_o be_v so_o true_a that_o the_o converse_v presence_n of_o a_o spirit_n be_v call_v a_o vision_n or_o apparition_n and_o experience_n with_o the_o scripture_n will_v show_v we_o that_o not_o only_o evil_a angel_n but_o good_a yea_o god_n himself_o converse_v in_o this_o manner_n with_o man_n and_o all_o this_o i_o suppose_v eve_n know_v second_o i_o suppose_v spirit_n and_o as_o in_o a_o well_o govern_v commonwealth_n every_o sort_n and_o condition_n of_o man_n be_v know_v by_o some_o differ_a habit_n agreeable_a to_o his_o quality_n so_o it_o seem_v it_o shall_v be_v in_o god_n great_a commonwealth_n concern_v the_o shape_n which_o spirit_n take_v upon_o they_o and_o he_o that_o give_v the_o law_n that_o a_o man_n shall_v not_o wear_v the_o habit_n of_o a_o woman_n nor_o a_o woman_n the_o habit_n of_o a_o man_n because_o as_o he_o have_v make_v they_o divers_a so_o will_v he_o have_v they_o so_o know_v by_o their_o habit_n so_o it_o seem_v he_o will_v not_o suffer_v a_o good_a and_o a_o bad_a spirit_n a_o noble_a and_o ignoble_a one_o
to_o appear_v unto_o man_n after_o the_o same_o fashion_n and_o this_o also_o i_o suppose_v eve_n know_v now_o from_o these_o ground_n it_o will_v follow_v that_o good_a angel_n can_v take_v upon_o they_o no_o other_o shape_n but_o the_o shape_n of_o man_n because_o their_o glorious_a excellency_n be_v resemble_v only_o in_o the_o most_o excellent_a of_o visible_a creature_n the_o shape_n of_o a_o inferior_a creature_n will_v be_v unsuitable_a no_o other_o shape_n become_v those_o who_o be_v call_v the_o son_n of_o god_n but_o his_o only_a who_o be_v create_v after_o god_n own_o image_n and_o yet_o not_o his_o neither_o according_a as_o now_o it_o be_v but_o according_a as_o he_o be_v before_o his_o fall_n in_o that_o glorious_a beauty_n of_o his_o integrity_n age_n and_o deformity_n be_v the_o fruit_n of_o sin_n and_o the_o angel_n in_o the_o gospel_n appear_v like_o a_o young_a man_n his_o countenance_n like_o lightning_n and_o his_o raiment_n white_a as_o snow_n as_o it_o be_v 3._o resemble_v the_o beauty_n of_o glorify_a body_n in_o immutability_n sublimity_n and_o purity_n hence_o also_o it_o follow_v on_o the_o contrary_a that_o the_o devil_n can_v not_o appear_v in_o humane_a shape_n while_o man_n be_v in_o his_o integrity_n because_o he_o be_v a_o spirit_n fall_v from_o his_o first_o glorious_a perfection_n and_o therefore_o must_v appear_v in_o such_o shape_n which_o may_v argue_v his_o imperfection_n and_o abasement_n which_o be_v the_o shape_n of_o a_o beast_n otherwise_o no_o reason_n can_v be_v give_v why_o he_o shall_v not_o rather_o have_v appear_v unto_o eve_n in_o the_o shape_n of_o a_o woman_n then_o of_o a_o serpent_n for_o so_o he_o may_v have_v gain_v a_o opinion_n with_o her_o both_o of_o more_o excellency_n and_o knowledge_n but_o since_o the_o fall_n of_o man_n the_o case_n be_v alter_v now_o we_o know_v he_o can_v take_v upon_o he_o the_o shape_n of_o man_n and_o no_o wonder_n since_o one_o fall_v star_n may_v well_o resemble_v another_o and_o therefore_o he_o appear_v it_o seem_v in_o the_o shape_n of_o man_n imperfection_n either_o for_o eye_n or_o deformity_n as_o like_o a_o old_a man_n for_o so_o the_o witch_n say_v and_o perhaps_o it_o be_v not_o altogether_o false_a which_o be_v vulgar_o affirm_v that_o the_o devil_n appear_v in_o humane_a shape_n have_v always_o a_o deformity_n of_o some_o uncouth_a member_n or_o other_o as_o though_o he_o can_v not_o yet_o take_v upon_o he_o humane_a shape_n entire_o for_o that_o man_n himself_o be_v not_o entire_o and_o utter_o fall_v as_o he_o be_v by_o this_o
