distinct_a from_o body_n can_v actual_o exist_v in_o their_o distinct_a essence_n in_o so_o small_a a_o body_n even_o in_o the_o least_o that_o can_v be_v conceive_v unless_o it_o be_v by_o intrinseck_n presence_n which_o be_v not_o communicable_a to_o any_o creature_n as_o be_v already_o prove_v for_o if_o all_o kind_n of_o spirit_n be_v in_o any_o even_o the_o least_o body_n how_o come_v it_o to_o pass_v that_o such_o a_o animal_n be_v produce_v of_o this_o body_n and_o not_o another_o yea_o how_o come_v it_o to_o pass_v that_o all_o kind_n of_o animal_n be_v not_o immediate_o of_o another_o and_o one_o species_n proceed_v from_o another_o as_o well_o when_o it_o ascend_v to_o a_o far_a perfection_n as_o when_o it_o descend_v to_o a_o vile_a state_n and_o condition_n but_o if_o they_o say_v all_o spirit_n be_v contain_v in_o any_o body_n not_o actual_o in_o their_o distinct_a essence_n but_o only_o potential_o as_o they_o term_v it_o than_o it_o must_v be_v grant_v that_o the_o body_n and_o all_o those_o spirit_n be_v one_o and_o the_o same_o thing_n that_o be_v that_o a_o body_n may_v be_v turn_v into_o they_o as_o when_o we_o say_v wood_n be_v potential_o fire_n that_o be_v can_v be_v turn_v into_o fire_n water_n be_v potential_o air_n that_o be_v may_v be_v change_v into_o air._n moreover_o if_o spirit_n and_o body_n be_v so_o inseparable_o unite_v that_o no_o body_n can_v be_v without_o a_o spirit_n yea_o not_o without_o many_o spirit_n this_o be_v certain_o a_o great_a argument_n that_o they_o be_v of_o one_o original_a nature_n and_o corruption_n another_o species_n of_o thing_n be_v generate_v so_o out_o of_o earth_n and_o water_n corrupt_v proceed_v animal_n yea_o stone_n if_o they_o putrefy_v or_o rot_v pass_v into_o animal_n so_o dung_n or_o other_o putrefy_a matter_n generate_v animal_n all_o which_o have_v spirit_n but_o how_o do_v corruption_n or_o dissolution_n of_o body_n tend_v to_o a_o new_a generation_n and_o that_o indeed_o of_o animal_n if_o it_o be_v say_v the_o spirit_n of_o those_o animal_n be_v as_o it_o be_v loose_v from_o their_o bond_n and_o set_v at_o liberty_n by_o this_o dissolution_n and_o that_o then_o they_o can_v form_v or_o fashion_n to_o themselves_o a_o new_a body_n out_o of_o the_o aforesaid_a matter_n by_o virtue_n of_o their_o plastic_a faculty_n unto_o this_o i_o reply_v how_o do_v the_o primitive_a body_n so_o hold_v it_o captive_n be_v it_o because_o it_o be_v so_o hard_a and_o thick_a if_o so_o it_o will_v be_v manifest_a that_o those_o spirit_n be_v nothing_o else_o but_o subtle_a body_n because_o hardness_n and_o density_n of_o body_n can_v imprison_v they_o that_o they_o can_v not_o pass_v out_o for_o if_o a_o spirit_n can_v as_o easy_o penetrate_v the_o hard_a that_o feed_v on_o beast_n and_o fish_n of_o a_o different_a kind_n do_v change_v they_o into_o their_o own_o nature_n and_o species_n and_o do_v not_o also_o a_o corrupt_a nature_n or_o the_o body_n of_o earth_n and_o water_n produce_v animal_n without_o any_o previous_a seed_n of_o those_o animal_n and_o in_o the_o creation_n of_o this_o world_n do_v not_o the_o water_n at_o the_o command_n of_o god_n produce_v bird_n and_o fish_n and_o do_v not_o the_o earth_n also_o at_o the_o same_o command_n bring_v forth_o beast_n and_o creep_v thing_n which_o for_o that_o cause_n be_v real_a and_o proper_a part_n of_o the_o earth_n and_o water_n and_o as_o they_o have_v their_o body_n from_o the_o earth_n so_o likewise_o they_o have_v their_o spirit_n or_o soul_n from_o the_o same_o for_o the_o earth_n bring_v forth_o live_v soul_n as_o the_o hebrew_n text_n speak_v but_o not_o mere_a corporeal_a figure_n want_v life_n and_o soul_n wherefore_o there_o be_v a_o very_a remarkable_a difference_n between_o humane_a creature_n and_o brute_n of_o man_n it_o be_v say_v god_n make_v he_o after_o his_o own_o image_n and_o breathe_v into_o he_o the_o breath_n of_o life_n and_o he_o law_n to_o all_o creature_n and_o write_v the_o same_o on_o their_o nature_n and_o every_o creature_n whatsoever_o that_o transgress_v this_o law_n be_v punish_v for_o it_o but_o that_o creature_n that_o observe_v and_o keep_v it_o have_v this_o reward_n viz_o to_o become_v better_o so_o under_o the_o law_n which_o god_n give_v to_o the_o jew_n if_o a_o beast_n kill_v a_o man_n that_o beast_n their_o first_o state_n and_o so_o the_o spirit_n after_o long_a and_o various_a period_n can_v contract_v this_o grossness_n to_o themselves_o although_o they_o can_v not_o together_o and_o at_o one_o and_o the_o same_o time_n fall_v into_o a_o universal_a grossness_n so_o that_o the_o whole_a body_n of_o any_o fall_a spirit_n shall_v be_v in_o all_o its_o part_n equal_o
gross_a but_o some_o part_n become_v grosser_n and_o grosser_n and_o the_o other_o corporeal_a part_n of_o this_o spirit_n which_o be_v its_o immediate_a vehicle_n and_o wherewith_o it_o be_v most_o
