be_v lawful_a not_o only_o to_o get_v and_o possess_v more_o than_o the_o necessity_n of_o this_o life_n do_v require_v but_o also_o superfluity_n pleasure_n and_o other_o thing_n without_o which_o we_o may_v be_v in_o this_o life_n so_o that_o this_o be_v do_v without_o injury_n to_o another_o wherefore_o the_o promise_n of_o this_o life_n under_o the_o old_a covenant_n be_v not_o to_o be_v restrain_v but_o to_o be_v take_v as_o the_o word_n sound_v whence_o likewise_o it_o may_v be_v see_v that_o eternal_a life_n be_v not_o promise_v under_o the_o old_a covenant_n otherwise_o the_o new_a will_v not_o have_v better_o promise_v then_o the_o old_a contrary_a to_o what_o the_o divine_a author_n to_o the_o hebrew_n affirm_v chap._n 8._o 6._o chap._n vi_o concern_v the_o promise_n because_o it_o be_v grant_v to_o confirm_v the_o new_a covenant_n which_o when_o it_o seem_v to_o god_n to_o be_v sufficient_o confirm_v that_o gift_n by_o his_o pleasure_n and_o counsel_v cease_v q._n what_o mean_v you_o by_o these_o word_n namely_o that_o the_o new_a covenant_n be_v sufficient_o confirm_v a._n i_o mean_v that_o those_o who_o be_v apt_a to_o believe_v the_o gospel_n have_v sufficient_a ground_n for_o their_o faith_n from_o what_o have_v be_v do_v for_o the_o confirmation_n of_o the_o covenant_n to_o all_o succeed_v time_n q._n but_o who_o be_v those_o that_o be_v apt_a to_o believe_v a._n such_o be_v endue_v with_o honesty_n of_o heart_n or_o be_v at_o least_o not_o averse_a therefrom_o for_o it_o be_v not_o in_o the_o will_n of_o god_n that_o those_o who_o be_v otherwise_o qualify_v shall_v have_v no_o cause_n to_o reject_v the_o gospel_n which_o will_v have_v come_v to_o pass_v have_v that_o confirmation_n be_v perpetual_a for_o there_o will_v have_v be_v no_o man_n find_v so_o wicked_a who_o will_v not_o have_v acknowledge_v the_o doctrine_n of_o christ_n for_o true_a and_o have_v embrace_v it_o not_o so_o much_o out_o of_o a_o love_n to_o piety_n and_o virtue_n as_o out_o of_o a_o desire_n of_o that_o sovereign_a good_a which_o christ_n have_v promise_v to_o his_o follower_n namely_o eternal_a life_n whereby_o it_o will_v have_v come_v to_o pass_v that_o in_o the_o christian_a religion_n which_o by_o the_o will_n and_o counsel_n of_o god_n be_v to_o distinguish_v the_o honest_a from_o the_o dishonest_a there_o will_v have_v be_v no_o difference_n between_o good_a and_o bad_a q._n tell_v i_o therefore_o what_o be_v the_o gift_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n which_o continue_v perpetual_o a._n before_o i_o unfold_v this_o i_o must_v demonstrate_v that_o under_o the_o new_a covenant_n there_o be_v a_o certain_a gift_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n which_o continue_v for_o ever_o in_o the_o church_n of_o christ_n q._n yea_o i_o desire_v you_o to_o do_v so_o a._n beside_o other_o testimony_n it_o be_v evident_a from_o those_o word_n of_o our_o saviour_n himself_o luke_n 11._o 13._o that_o god_n do_v and_o always_o will_v give_v his_o holy_a spirit_n to_o his_o child_n that_o beg_v the_o same_o of_o he_o q._n what_o be_v the_o holy_a spirit_n a._n that_o you_o may_v the_o better_o understand_v what_o the_o holy_a spirit_n be_v consider_v with_o yourself_o first_o that_o in_o the_o scripture_n of_o
