man_n may_v desire_v look_v to_o a_o high_a end_n because_o man_n be_v frame_v so_o to_o yield_v to_o the_o strong_a reason_n always_o thereupon_o that_o be_v no_o objection_n he_o seem_v sometime_o a_o little_a unwilling_a it_o be_v look_v upon_o something_o present_v to_o he_o that_o make_v he_o in_o that_o respect_n unwilling_a but_o look_v upon_o other_o respect_n he_o give_v himself_o willing_o the_o father_n and_o he_o join_v together_o and_o therefore_o by_o the_o way_n when_o they_o talk_v of_o the_o active_a and_o passive_a obedience_n there_o be_v action_n in_o all_o his_o passion_n chief_o in_o his_o passion_n there_o be_v action_n for_o if_o it_o have_v be_v mere_a suffering_n without_o voluntary_a obedience_n what_o obedience_n have_v that_o be_v a_o beast_n may_v so_o suffer_v but_o against_o his_o will_n but_o his_o voluntary_a obedience_n be_v the_o chief_a in_o all_o his_o passion_n he_o humble_v himself_o to_o the_o death_n of_o the_o cross_n as_o it_o be_v phil._n 2._o yet_o further_o as_o he_o die_v voluntary_o so_o he_o die_v as_o our_o surety_n therefore_o he_o die_v a_o curse_a death_n due_a to_o we_o he_o be_v make_v a_o curse_n for_o we_o itself_o can_v not_o long_o die_v it_o be_v but_o by_o dispensation_n that_o he_o die_v viz._n to_o work_v our_o salvation_n but_o he_o can_v not_o be_v detain_v any_o long_a by_o the_o sorrow_n of_o upon_o christ_n upon_o his_o cause_n and_o church_n and_o child_n they_o will_v rise_v again_o even_o as_o his_o bless_a body_n do_v in_o spite_n of_o all_o the_o watchfullnesse_n of_o the_o jew_n again_o as_o he_o rise_v so_o he_o rise_v with_o many_o not_o alone_o to_o show_v as_o i_o say_v before_o that_o he_o rise_v as_o a_o public_a person_n another_o man_n rise_v as_o himself_o the_o rest_n rise_v not_o with_o he_o as_o cause_v by_o his_o rise_n but_o christ_n rise_v as_o a_o public_a person_n therefore_o many_o rose_n with_o he_o the_o grave_n be_v open_v to_o show_v that_o he_o himself_o be_v content_a to_o come_v from_o heaven_n into_o the_o virgin_n womb_n and_o from_o thence_o to_o the_o cross_n and_o from_o thence_o to_o the_o grave_n and_o to_o be_v abase_v for_o we_o those_o that_o have_v the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n those_o bless_a soul_n in_o heaven_n may_v well_o be_v content_a for_o a_o time_n to_o be_v abase_v to_o take_v body_n to_o do_v a_o service_n for_o their_o lord_n and_o master_n who_o be_v content_a to_o forego_v heaven_n thirty_o four_o year_n and_o the_o glory_n due_a to_o he_o therefore_o by_o the_o way_n if_o god_n will_v use_v we_o though_o the_o quick_a and_o of_o the_o dead_a we_o have_v to_o deal_v with_o the_o mighty_a monarch_n of_o heaven_n and_o earth_n christ_n therefore_o come_v as_o with_o faith_n because_o he_o have_v ordain_v these_o thing_n to_o strengthen_v faith_n so_o come_v with_o reverence_n know_v with_o who_o we_o be_v to_o feast_v and_o to_o deal_v consider_v of_o these_o thing_n and_o then_o i_o hope_v that_o god_n will_v vouchsafe_v a_o blessing_n answerable_a to_o the_o intendment_n of_o his_o ordinance_n the_o second_o sermon_n on_o rome_n 14._o 9_o for_o to_o this_o end_n christ_n both_o die_v and_o rose_n and_o revive_v that_o he_o may_v be_v the_o lord_n both_o of_o the_o dead_a and_o of_o the_o live_n i_o show_v the_o dependence_n in_o the_o forenoon_n a_o christian_a by_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n both_o die_v and_o revive_v that_o he_o may_v be_v lord_n both_o of_o the_o dead_a and_o of_o the_o live_n and_o sure_o he_o be_v lord_n he_o will_v not_o miss_v of_o his_o end_n god_n never_o miss_v of_o his_o end_n because_o he_o can_v remove_v all_o impediment_n between_o he_o and_o his_o end_n now_o it_o be_v christ_n end_n to_o be_v lord_n of_o the_o quick_a and_o of_o the_o dead_a he_o be_v lord_n if_o he_o be_v lord_n than_o those_o that_o be_v under_o he_o and_o lead_v by_o his_o spirit_n aim_v both_o in_o life_n and_o death_n to_o glorify_v he_o in_o all_o thing_n this_o in_o a_o word_n be_v speak_v for_o the_o inference_n of_o the_o word_n to_o this_o end_n christ_n both_o die_v and_o rose_n and_o revive_v here_o you_o have_v a_o ground_n and_o a_o inference_n a_o argument_n and_o a_o reason_n from_o it_o the_o argument_n or_o ground_n be_v christ_n die_v and_o rose_n and_o revive_v that_o that_o rise_v thence_o be_v that_o he_o may_v be_v lord_n both_o of_o the_o dead_a of_o of_o the_o live_n in_o they_o ground_n itself_o i_o tell_v you_o how_o christ_n die_v as_o a_o public_a person_n as_o the_o second_o adam_n etc._n etc._n and_o now_o here_o you_o be_v to_o take_v notice_n likewise_o that_o he_o rise_v again_o as_o a_o public_a person_n as_o the_o second_o adam_n etc._n etc._n and_o likewise_o he_o renvive_v not_o to_o die_v again_o as_o in_o his_o first_o life_n when_o he_o begin_v to_o live_v he_o begin_v to_o die_v but_o when_o he_o revive_v he_o do_v not_o die_v again_o he_o live_v for_o ever_o to_o make_v intercession_n for_o we_o in_o heaven_n christ_n never_o die_v again_o rom._n 6._o he_o rise_v to_o a_o life_n that_o shall_v never_o end_v for_o the_o divine_a nature_n do_v flow_v into_o his_o humane_a nature_n and_o do_v immediate_o inspire_v such_o a_o spiritual_a life_n into_o it_o as_o it_o live_v for_o ever_o by_o virtue_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n actuate_a and_o stir_v and_o move_v he_o as_o his_o natural_a life_n do_v here_o when_o he_o be_v upon_o the_o earth_n christ_n die_v and_o rose_n and_o revive_v to_o what_o end_n be_v all_o this_o what_o be_v ground_v hence_o that_o christ_n so_o justice_n be_v full_o satisfy_v he_o may_v have_v his_o end_n in_o be_v lord_n of_o his_o church_n he_o have_v a_o mind_n to_o marry_v we_o but_o he_o can_v not_o till_o he_o have_v rescue_v we_o therefore_o to_o rescue_v we_o out_o of_o divine_a justice_n and_o from_o the_o tyranny_n of_o satan_n god_n gaoler_n he_o make_v satisfaction_n to_o divine_a justice_n as_o for_o satan_n he_o bring_v we_o out_o of_o his_o kingdom_n by_o strong_a hand_n and_o so_o do_v continual_o by_o the_o power_n of_o his_o spirit_n now_o hereupon_o it_o must_v needs_o be_v that_o he_o must_v be_v lord_n of_o abundance_n have_v conquer_v all_o enemy_n between_o god_n and_o we_o therefore_o he_o be_v fit_a to_o be_v lord_n by_o that_o because_o he_o can_v give_v the_o spirit_n to_o they_o over_o who_o he_o mean_v to_o rule_v but_o then_o in_o his_o own_o person_n he_o rise_v triumph_v over_o all_o opposite_a enemy_n whatsoever_o over_o death_n the_o last_o enemy_n and_o over_o satan_n sin_n and_o the_o law_n have_v cancel_v all_o sure_o he_o have_v overrule_v all_o for_o himself_o he_o will_v over-rule_v all_o for_o his_o church_n and_o people_n and_o therefore_o he_o rise_v again_o to_o be_v lord_n of_o quick_a and_o dead_a and_o he_o may_v well_o be_v because_o he_o be_v lord_n of_o quick_a and_o dead_a in_o his_o own_o person_n he_o be_v lord_n over_o all_o in_o his_o own_o person_n and_o therefore_o he_o be_v lord_n over_o the_o church_n and_o all_o the_o enemy_n of_o the_o church_n so_o far_o as_o the_o enemy_n seize_v upon_o his_o person_n so_o far_o he_o overcome_v they_o all_o he_o have_v as_o much_o care_n of_o his_o mystical_a person_n the_o church_n as_o he_o have_v on_o his_o own_o body_n and_o more_o too_o for_o he_o give_v that_o for_o the_o other_o and_o then_o he_o revive_v to_o be_v lord_n over_o all_o that_o be_v he_o live_v for_o ever_o to_o make_v good_a what_o he_o have_v get_v by_o his_o death_n he_o will_v not_o lose_v the_o price_n of_o his_o own_o blood_n he_o be_v in_o heaven_n to_o appear_v before_o god_n and_o sit_v at_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o god_n and_o rule_v there_o till_o he_o have_v make_v all_o his_o enemy_n his_o footstool_n till_o he_o draw_v his_o church_n home_o to_o heaven_n to_o himself_o he_o live_v for_o ever_o as_o the_o apostle_n say_v to_o make_v intercession_n hereupon_o it_o must_v needs_o be_v that_o by_o live_v for_o ever_o he_o be_v fit_o qualify_v to_o be_v lord_n over_o all_o the_o quick_a now_o i_o proceed_v that_o he_o may_v be_v lord_n both_o of_o quick_a and_o dead_a christ_n be_v lord_n both_o of_o the_o dead_a and_o of_o the_o
