and_o so_o they_o make_v the_o son_n of_o god_n as_o much_o as_o in_o they_o lie_v to_o suffer_v and_o to_o die_v in_o vain_a they_o spill_v his_o precious_a blood_n upon_o the_o ground_n as_o if_o it_o be_v of_o no_o value_n christ_n shed_v his_o blood_n to_o this_o end_n that_o his_o people_n may_v be_v holy_a and_o they_o will_v be_v impure_a still_o and_o wallow_v in_o their_o lust_n still_o they_o care_v not_o what_o become_v of_o it_o let_v it_o be_v shed_v in_o vain_a for_o they_o they_o reckon_v not_o oh_o what_o a_o high_a contempt_n be_v this_o to_o jesus_n christ_n these_o man_n as_o the_o apostle_n speak_v tread_v underfoot_o the_o son_n of_o god_n they_o trample_v on_o he_o in_o disdain_n and_o put_v he_o to_o the_o great_a shame_n that_o can_v be_v they_o that_o despise_v and_o slight_v the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n dishonour_n christ_n himself_o the_o comforter_n the_o holy_a spirit_n be_v the_o messenger_n of_o christ_n he_o be_v instead_o of_o christ_n to_o his_o people_n he_o represent_v he_o absent_a to_o the_o soul_n and_o therefore_o he_o be_v say_v in_o scripture_n to_o be_v with_o they_o in_o that_o his_o holy_a spirit_n be_v with_o they_o behold_v i_o be_o with_o you_o always_o viz._n by_o my_o spirit_n to_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n mat._n 28._o ult_n i_o will_v not_o leave_v you_o comfortless_o say_v christ_n to_o his_o disciple_n i_o will_v come_v to_o you_o john_n 14.18_o he_o mean_v not_o by_o himself_o but_o by_o his_o spirit_n so_o that_o when_o the_o spirit_n come_v christ_n come_v and_o therefore_o it_o be_v add_v present_o at_o frequent_o do_v we_o misuse_v he_o who_o come_v with_o counsel_n and_o with_o comfort_n and_o with_o grace_n from_o such_o a_o choice_n and_o precious_a friend_n as_o christ_n be_v how_o do_v we_o slight_v the_o seasonable_a caveat_n that_o the_o spirit_n give_v we_o either_o for_o our_o information_n or_o else_o for_o our_o consolation_n and_o what_o be_v this_o upon_o the_o matter_n but_o to_o despise_v and_o slight_a christ_n they_o that_o despise_v and_o slight_v the_o messenger_n and_o the_o ambassador_n of_o christ_n they_o dishonour_v christ_n himself_o he_o be_v in_o this_o respect_n at_o the_o same_o hand_n that_o prince_n be_v the_o wrong_n and_o the_o indignity_n that_o be_v do_v to_o those_o they_o send_v they_o take_v as_o offer_v to_o themselves_o and_o true_o so_o do_v jesus_n christ_n his_o minister_n the_o preacher_n and_o dispenser_n of_o his_o gospel_n be_v his_o ambassador_n to_o man_n they_o be_v instead_o of_o christ_n as_o the_o apostle_n paul_n expression_n be_v 2_o cor._n 5.20_o now_o than_o we_o be_v ambassador_n for_o christ_n we_o pray_v you_o in_o christ_n stead_n and_o they_o that_o injure_v or_o dishonour_v those_o that_o be_v for_o christ_n and_o that_o be_v in_o christ_n stead_n must_v needs_o dishonour_v christ_n himself_o our_o saviour_n be_v express_v and_o plain_a for_o this_o to_o his_o apostle_n luke_n 10.16_o he_o that_o despise_v you_o despise_v i_o and_o he_o that_o despise_v i_o despise_v he_o that_o send_v i_o q._n d._n my_o father_n send_v i_o and_o therefore_o he_o that_o despise_v i_o despise_v he_o and_o i_o if_o he_o be_v resolve_v to_o bear_v it_o i_o make_v no_o question_n he_o will_v give_v they_o grace_n and_o strength_n to_o bear_v it_o too_o and_o to_o profit_n much_o by_o it_o they_o that_o fall_v away_o from_o christ_n after_o some_o acquaintance_n with_o he_o they_o dishonour_v and_o disgrace_v he_o for_o in_o desert_v he_o they_o seem_v to_o tell_v the_o world_n that_o there_o be_v nothing_o in_o he_o why_o we_o shall_v desire_v he_o they_o have_v try_v he_o and_o they_o find_v he_o by_o experience_n to_o be_v such_o a_o one_o as_o be_v not_o worth_a the_o keep_n any_o long_o and_o therefore_o the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o apostate_n say_v that_o they_o put_v christ_n to_o open_a shame_n for_o that_o be_v his_o expression_n heb._n 6.9_o if_o they_o fall_v away_o say_v he_o they_o crucify_v the_o son_n of_o god_n afresh_o and_o put_v he_o to_o open_a shame_n a_o servant_n look_v upon_o it_o as_o a_o shame_n and_o a_o disparagement_n if_o he_o be_v put_v away_o so_o if_o a_o make_v the_o world_n believe_v that_o he_o be_v a_o ill_a master_n that_o there_o be_v better_a wage_n and_o more_o content_a and_o satisfaction_n to_o be_v have_v in_o the_o service_n of_o sin_n then_o the_o service_n of_o christ_n and_o be_v not_o this_o a_o great_a dishonour_n to_o he_o and_o yet_o how_o many_o be_v there_o in_o these_o latter_a time_n who_o bring_v disparagement_n to_o jesus_n christ_n by_o this_o mean_n and_o make_v his_o service_n despicable_a in_o the_o eye_n of_o other_o how_o many_o have_v withdraw_v from_o jesus_n christ_n of_o late_a give_v over_o wait_v on_o his_o holy_a ordinance_n and_o leave_v perform_v of_o those_o duty_n to_o he_o which_o they_o be_v wont_v exact_o and_o constant_o and_o due_o to_o discharge_v they_o talk_v of_o christian_a liberty_n and_o this_o they_o take_v to_o be_v from_o the_o service_n of_o christ_n whereas_o it_o be_v indeed_o from_o the_o service_n of_o sin_n and_o so_o they_o be_v more_o loose_a and_o careless_a and_o remiss_a and_o negligent_a than_o they_o have_v be_v in_o former_a time_n these_o man_n disgrace_n christ_n who_o god_n have_v set_v himself_o to_o honour_n and_o so_o they_o cross_v he_o in_o his_o great_a design_n now_o i_o beseech_v you_o think_v upon_o it_o you_o that_o dishonour_n christ_n in_o any_o of_o the_o way_n foremention_v or_o in_o any_o other_o way_n let_v it_o be_v what_o it_o will_v remember_v that_o it_o be_v the_o purpose_n and_o design_n of_o god_n to_o glorify_v his_o son_n christ_n and_o what_o then_o will_v become_v of_o you_o who_o thwart_v with_o he_o who_o seek_v as_o much_o as_o lie_v in_o you_o to_o hinder_v he_o from_o execution_n of_o that_o which_o he_o be_v so_o intent_n upon_o will_v he_o take_v it_o at_o your_o hand_n nay_o if_o he_o send_v his_o son_n among_o you_o and_o say_v as_o in_o the_o parable_n luke_n 20.13_o they_o will_v reverence_v my_o son_n and_o you_o upon_o the_o other_o side_n neglect_v he_o and_o contemn_v he_o and_o abase_v he_o every_o way_n he_o will_v be_v out_o of_o patience_n with_o you_o to_o be_v thus_o cross_v by_o wretched_a man_n he_o will_v certain_o destroy_v you_o he_o will_v make_v you_o know_v the_o price_n of_o slight_v and_o despise_v he_o who_o honour_n be_v as_o dear_a and_o tender_a to_o he_o as_o his_o own_o be_v it_o so_o that_o it_o have_v be_v the_o design_n &_o c_o then_o be_v we_o all_o exhort_v to_o use_v 2_o comply_v with_o god_n in_o this_o great_a design_n of_o he_o and_o to_o promote_v it_o to_o the_o utmost_a of_o our_o power_n let_v we_o endeavour_v every_o way_n to_o help_v he_o in_o that_o which_o he_o be_v so_o intent_n upon_o the_o glorify_v of_o his_o son_n christ_n it_o be_v true_a god_n need_v not_o any_o of_o our_o help_n he_o can_v do_v his_o own_o work_n and_o bring_v his_o own_o design_n and_o purpose_n to_o pass_v without_o we_o he_o can_v glorify_v his_o
god_n so_o it_o be_v in_o some_o respect_n the_o chief_a thing_n that_o come_v from_o god_n it_o be_v a_o grace_n of_o the_o first_o magnitude_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v place_v first_o by_o the_o apostle_n in_o that_o catalogue_n of_o he_o gal._n 5.22_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n be_v love_n and_o then_o joy_n and_o other_o grace_n it_o be_v a_o excel_a gift_n and_o therefore_o the_o apostle_n paul_n to_o show_v the_o matchless_a worth_n and_o the_o surpass_a value_n of_o it_o admit_v a_o kind_n of_o solaecism_n in_o his_o discourse_n and_o make_v it_o better_o than_o the_o best_a this_o be_v the_o real_a cause_n why_o the_o triumphant_a saint_n in_o heaven_n love_v he_o more_o than_o the_o saint_n militant_a on_o earth_n because_o they_o have_v a_o full_a clear_a and_o distinct_a knowledge_n of_o he_o we_o see_v he_o dark_o in_o a_o glass_n they_o face_n to_o face_n and_o this_o be_v the_o reason_n also_o why_o we_o love_v not_o god_n with_o such_o a_o high_a affection_n here_o as_o we_o shall_v do_v hereafter_o because_o we_o know_v he_o not_o so_o well_o we_o have_v not_o such_o distinct_a and_o full_a discovery_n of_o his_o name_n as_o than_o we_o shall_v attain_v to_o so_o than_o you_o see_v in_o general_a that_o the_o discovery_n of_o the_o father_n name_n to_o man_n be_v one_o especial_a mean_n to_o work_v the_o grace_n of_o love_n in_o till_o jesus_n christ_n declare_v the_o father_n name_n to_o they_o and_o therefore_o in_o the_o second_o place_n if_o you_o desire_v indeed_o to_o love_n god_n use_v 2_o and_o to_o grow_v up_o in_o this_o love_n labour_v to_o be_v acquaint_v with_o his_o name_n wait_v on_o the_o discovery_n of_o it_o that_o jesus_n christ_n be_v please_v to_o make_v both_o in_o public_a and_o in_o private_a wheresoever_o christ_n declare_v his_o father_n name_n there_o be_v you_o attend_v on_o he_o to_o see_v what_o he_o will_v further_o show_v you_o of_o his_o beauty_n goodness_n mercy_n love_v to_o you_o in_o special_a and_o you_o shall_v find_v that_o as_o you_o know_v more_o of_o he_o your_o heart_n will_v be_v according_o endear_v more_o to_o he_o when_o you_o be_v with_o other_o christian_n discourse_n of_o this_o name_n of_o god_n the_o greatness_n of_o his_o beauty_n goodness_n mercy_n love_n and_o your_o heart_n will_v burn_v within_o you_o with_o ardent_a flame_n of_o holy_a love_n to_o his_o bless_a majesty_n when_o you_o be_v single_a and_o alone_a study_v the_o name_n of_o god_n think_v of_o his_o attribute_n let_v they_o be_v often_o in_o your_o meditation_n as_o you_o shall_v see_v they_o be_v in_o david_n if_o you_o read_v the_o book_n of_o psalm_n and_o then_o you_o will_v cry_v out_o not_o much_o unlike_a as_o he_o o_o my_o god_n how_o do_v i_o love_v thou_o while_o i_o meditate_v of_o the_o beauty_n of_o thy_o glorious_a majesty_n and_o thy_o marvelous_a work_n and_o thus_o far_o of_o the_o first_o end_n of_o our_o saviour_n declaration_n of_o his_o father_n name_n that_o the_o love_n wherewith_o thou_o have_v love_v i_o may_v be_v in_o they_o the_o second_o follow_v in_o the_o last_o place_n to_o be_v handle_v and_o i_o in_o they_o that_o the_o love_n wherewith_o thou_o have_v love_v i_o may_v be_v in_o they_o and_o i_o in_o they_o first_o that_o love_n may_v be_v in_o they_o and_o then_o that_o i_o may_v be_v in_o they_o the_o latter_a be_v adjoin_v to_o the_o former_a by_o the_o connective_a particle_n and_o as_o that_o which_o out_o of_o all_o dispute_n will_v keep_v it_o company_n and_o dwell_v with_o it_o if_o love_n be_v in_o they_o i_o shall_v be_v in_o they_o too_o say_v christ_n i_o shall_v be_v where_o love_n be_v and_o therefore_o i_o have_v manifest_v and_o declare_v thy_o name_n to_o they_o in_o reference_n to_o both_o these_o that_o love_n be_v wrought_v in_o they_o i_o may_v be_v in_o they_o too_o by_o this_o mean_n this_o i_o conceive_v to_o be_v the_o drift_n and_o purpose_n of_o our_o saviour_n in_o the_o word_n the_o point_n suggest_v then_o be_v this_o doctrine_n where_o love_n be_v there_o christ_n be_v if_o love_n be_v in_o a_o man_n jesus_n christ_n be_v in_o he_o too_o that_o be_v out_o of_o all_o question_n he_o come_v with_o love_n into_o the_o soul_n of_o true_a believer_n brethren_n christ_n be_v a_o utter_a stranger_n to_o every_o soul_n that_o have_v not_o true_a love_n in_o it_o but_o if_o you_o knock_v at_o the_o door_n of_o any_o heart_n and_o inquire_v be_v love_n within_o be_v love_v here_o if_o love_n be_v there_o you_o may_v conclude_v that_o jesus_n christ_n be_v there_o too_o you_o see_v my_o brethren_n they_o be_v knit_v together_o in_o my_o text_n that_o the_o love_n wherewith_o thou_o have_v love_v i_o may_v be_v in_o they_o and_o i_o in_o they_o love_n of_o wondrous_a difficulty_n so_o of_o very_o great_a concernment_n it_o be_v the_o first_o thing_n that_o our_o saviour_n beg_v in_o the_o behalf_n of_o his_o apostle_n and_o disciple_n that_o they_o may_v be_v one_o and_o pray_v his_o father_n to_o effect_v it_o by_o his_o own_o almighty_a power_n holy_a father_n keep_v they_o through_o thy_o own_o name_n that_o they_o may_v be_v one_o as_o we_o be_v by_o which_o he_o show_v that_o as_o it_o be_v a_o hard_a thing_n so_o it_o be_v a_o choice_n thing_n a_o thing_n of_o special_a consequence_n worthy_a the_o put_v forth_o of_o the_o almighty_a power_n of_o god_n about_o it_o and_o therefore_o the_o apostle_n paul_n will_v have_v we_o strain_v ourselves_o to_o get_v it_o and_o preserve_v it_o to_o do_v as_o much_o as_o lie_v in_o we_o even_o to_o the_o utmost_a as_o much_o as_o it_o be_v possible_a for_o man_n to_o do_v to_o set_v all_o our_o ability_n and_o all_o our_o faculty_n a_o work_n to_o procure_v and_o keep_v peace_n rom._n 12.18_o and_o to_o this_o end_n have_v persuade_v the_o colossian_n to_o adorn_v themselves_o with_o mercy_n kindness_n humbleness_n of_o mind_n and_o with_o the_o habit_n and_o the_o act_n of_o meekness_n and_o long-suffering_a as_o with_o glorious_a robe_n he_o persuade_v they_o at_o length_n to_o put_v on_o love_n which_o be_v a_o unite_n grace_n a_o bond_n of_o perfectness_n the_o uppermost_a garment_n as_o it_o be_v and_o so_o the_o large_a fair_a rich_a and_o most_o precious_a piece_n of_o the_o new_a clothing_n of_o a_o christian_a and_o therefore_o put_v a_o special_a emphasis_n upon_o his_o exhortation_n to_o it_o above_o all_o these_o thing_n put_v on_o charity_n which_o be_v the_o bond_n of_o perfectness_n which_o will_v unite_v and_o join_v you_o perfect_o together_o they_o be_v not_o grace_n of_o the_o mean_a rank_n that_o paul_n commend_v to_o the_o colossian_n in_o the_o former_a verse_n yet_o have_v run_v through_o all_o of_o they_o and_o be_v come_v at_o length_n to_o this_o unite_n grace_n as_o to_o the_o top_n and_o chief_a of_o all_o he_o set_v the_o finger_n of_o a_o hand_n against_o it_o to_o point_v it_o out_o as_o supereminent_a above_o all_o these_o thing_n put_v on_o charity_n which_o be_v the_o bond_n of_o perfectness_n how_o be_v the_o prophet_n david_n carry_v out_o beyond_o himself_o and_o even_o ravish_v in_o the_o contemplation_n of_o this_o precious_a unity_n among_o the_o saint_n and_o therefore_o call_v other_o to_o join_v in_o admiration_n with_o he_o psal_n 133.1_o behold_v how_o good_a and_o pleasant_a a_o thing_n it_o be_v for_o brethren_n to_o dwell_v together_o in_o unity_n the_o admirable_a and_o surpass_a excellency_n of_o it_o be_v represent_v to_o we_o in_o the_o scripture_n many_o way_n if_o for_o church-peace_n and_o unity_n among_o the_o saint_n pray_v you_o for_o the_o peace_n of_o jerusalem_n psalm_n 112.7_o that_o it_o may_v be_v like_o a_o city_n that_o be_v at_o unity_n within_o itself_o and_o therefore_o the_o apostle_n be_v so_o earnest_a for_o it_o as_o it_o be_v for_o life_n and_o death_n the_o god_n of_o peace_n give_v you_o peace_n always_o and_o by_o all_o mean_n by_o which_o he_o intimate_v that_o as_o it_o be_v a_o thing_n of_o wondrous_a difficulty_n so_o of_o great_a concernment_n for_o christ_n disciple_n to_o be_v at_o unity_n among_o themselves_o and_o this_o i_o shall_v lay_v open_a to_o you_o in_o a_o few_o paaticulars_n it_o be_v of_o great_a concernment_n to_o the_o growth_n of_o christ_n disciple_n and_o to_o their_o thrive_a in_o their_o spiritual_a estate_n it_o be_v observe_v of_o the_o church_n act_v 4.32_o that_o they_o be_v of_o one_o heart_n and_o one_o soul_n and_o that_o which_o follow_v present_o be_v this_o great_a grace_n be_v upon_o they_o all_o it_o seem_v they_o be_v in_o the_o increase_n and_o the_o thrive_a hand_n by_o this_o mean_n where_o there_o be_v great_a peace_n among_o the_o saint_n there_o be_v great_a grace_n too_o much_o union_n bring_v forth_o much_o communion_n and_o much_o communion_n bring_v forth_o much_o holiness_n and_o much_o grace_n when_o christian_n walk_v on_o in_o a_o sweet_a and_o amicable_a way_n they_o can_v choose_v but_o grow_v exceed_o but_o when_o dissension_n make_v they_o to_o reserve_v themselves_o this_o be_v extreme_o prejudicial_a to_o the_o increase_n in_o holiness_n which_o otherwise_o will_v be_v among_o they_o that_o place_n of_o the_o apostle_n be_v very_o notable_a to_o this_o purpose_n col._n 2_o 19_o and_o not_o hold_v the_o head_n from_o which_o all_o the_o body_n by_o joint_n and_o band_n have_v nourishment_n minister_v and_o knit_v together_o increase_v with_o the_o increase_n of_o god_n be_v knit_v together_o it_o make_v increase_v it_o be_v of_o great_a concernment_n as_o to_o the_o growth_n of_o christ_n disciple_n so_o also_o to_o their_o comfort_n that_o they_o be_v at_o near_a unity_n among_o themselves_o it_o be_v a_o notable_a expression_n of_o the_o apostle_n paul_n to_o this_o purpose_n col._n 2.2_o that_o their_o heart_n may_v be_v comfort_v be_v knit_v together_o in_o love_n there_o be_v the_o mercy_n wish_v they_o that_o their_o heart_n may_v be_v comfort_v and_o then_o the_o requisite_a condition_n and_o qualification_n to_o make_v they_o capable_a of_o this_o comfort_n be_v knit_v together_o in_o love_n much_o union_n much_o comfort_n little_a union_n little_a comfort_n no_o union_n no_o comfort_n indeed_o it_o be_v a_o pleasant_a thing_n for_o brethren_n to_o live_v together_o in_o unity_n but_o it_o be_v a_o bitter_a thing_n to_o live_v in_o discord_n and_o dissension_n it_o eat_v out_o all_o the_o joy_n and_o comfort_n of_o a_o man_n and_o fill_v his_o spirit_n with_o vexation_n when_o man_n be_v over_o head_n and_o ear_n in_o controversy_n and_o contention_n especial_o saint_n with_o saint_n it_o make_v their_o life_n unquiet_a and_o uncomfortable_a to_o they_o you_o shall_v observe_v how_o restless_a such_o man_n be_v who_o be_v embroil_v in_o trouble_n and_o who_o be_v deep_a in_o controversy_n and_o contention_n they_o can_v eat_v they_o can_v sleep_v they_o can_v talk_v they_o can_v do_v nothing_o cheerful_o and_o free_o they_o be_v so_o clog_v and_o cumber_v with_o their_o own_o impatient_a and_o perplex_a thought_n listen_v to_o they_o and_o you_o shall_v hear_v they_o ever_o and_o anon_o complain_v that_o every_o one_o be_v vex_v they_o and_o trouble_v and_o molest_v they_o so_o that_o they_o can_v live_v in_o peace_n their_o wife_n their_o child_n and_o their_o servant_n can_v be_v at_o quiet_a for_o they_o they_o be_v in_o such_o a_o pelt_a humour_n upon_o every_o light_a occasion_n their_o family_n be_v like_o the_o middle_a region_n of_o the_o air_n continual_o rend_v and_o tear_v with_o storm_n and_o thunder_n and_o tempestuous_a stir_n which_o rise_v at_o first_o of_o a_o thing_n of_o nothing_o a_o thin_a invisible_a fume_n draw_v up_o from_o the_o earth_n and_o all_o this_o come_v to_o pass_v by_o the_o dissension_n that_o they_o have_v with_o other_o which_o take_v away_o the_o meekness_n of_o their_o spirit_n and_o with_o that_o their_o quiet_a too_o and_o therefore_o you_o shall_v find_v a_o meek_a and_o quiet_a spirit_n join_v together_o and_o make_v the_o chief_a adorn_v of_o a_o christian_a 1_o pet._n 2.4_o who_o adorn_v let_v it_o be_v that_o of_o the_o hide_a man_n of_o the_o heart_n even_o the_o adorn_v of_o a_o meek_a and_o quiet_a spirit_n it_o it_o be_v meek_a it_o will_v be_v quiet_a if_o enrage_a it_o will_v be_v trouble_v it_o will_v be_v like_o the_o sea_n that_o can_v rest_v who_o water_n cast_v up_o mire_n and_o dirt_n it_o be_v of_o so_o great_a concernment_n as_o to_o the_o growth_n and_o comfort_n of_o christ_n disciple_n that_o they_o be_v at_o unity_n etc._n etc._n so_o also_o to_o their_o keep_n in_o with_o god_n himself_o they_o must_v have_v peace_n among_o themselves_o if_o they_o will_v have_v peace_n with_o god_n if_o they_o be_v angry_a one_o with_o another_o god_n
in_o but_o do_v our_o saviour_n so_o with_o his_o apostle_n and_o his_o minister_n yes_o my_o belove_a just_a so_o he_o qualify_v they_o with_o the_o spirit_n too_o and_o therefore_o have_v say_v to_o his_o apostle_n and_o his_o messenger_n joh._n 20.22_o as_o my_o father_n have_v send_v i_o so_o send_v i_o you_o the_o very_a next_o word_n be_v and_o when_o he_o have_v say_v thus_o he_o breathe_v on_o they_o and_o say_v unto_o they_o receive_v the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o so_o according_o the_o holy_a ghost_n fall_v upon_o they_o abundant_o to_o fill_v they_o and_o enable_v they_o for_o their_o ministerial_a office_n even_o as_o they_o be_v about_o to_o go_v abroad_o and_o preach_v act._n 2._o here_o be_v a_o great_a similitude_n you_o see_v between_o the_o father_n send_v christ_n into_o the_o world_n and_o christ_n send_n his_o apostle_n and_o minister_n into_o the_o world_n in_o regard_n of_o qualification_n but_o yet_o as_o the_o similitude_n be_v great_a so_o be_v the_o dissimilitude_n in_o this_o too_o the_o unction_n which_o the_o minister_n of_o christ_n receive_v from_o he_o though_o it_o be_v like_o the_o unction_n which_o christ_n himself_o receive_v from_o the_o father_n in_o the_o thing_n yet_o it_o be_v nothing_o like_o it_o in_o the_o measure_n and_o degree_n though_o they_o be_v both_o the_o unction_n of_o the_o spirit_n christ_n be_v surpass_o transcendent_o beyond_o they_o he_o be_v endow_v with_o all_o the_o grace_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o every_o sort_n and_o every_o kind_n so_o that_o not_o one_o of_o they_o be_v want_v in_o he_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v say_v in_o scripture_n that_o in_o he_o all_o fullness_n dwell_v that_o be_v the_o fullness_n of_o all_o grace_n whatsoever_o but_o now_o my_o brethren_n in_o the_o minister_n of_o christ_n it_o be_v not_o so_o in_o they_o there_o be_v a_o division_n of_o grace_n though_o not_o of_o the_o grace_n of_o sanctification_n yet_o of_o the_o grace_n of_o edification_n and_o one_o be_v make_v partaker_n of_o a_o gift_n which_o another_o have_v not_o there_o be_v diversity_n of_o gift_n say_v the_o apostle_n 1_o cor._n 12._o to_o one_o be_v give_v by_o the_o spirit_n the_o word_n of_o knowledge_n to_o another_o pprophecy_n etc._n etc._n but_o all_o these_o concur_v and_o â—â—er_v in_o jesus_n christ_n so_o that_o he_o be_v in_o this_o respect_n enrich_v above_o they_o all_o and_o as_o our_o saviour_n be_v qualify_v by_o the_o father_n with_o all_o kind_n and_o sort_n of_o grace_n so_o with_o all_o measure_n and_o degree_n as_o he_o have_v all_o grace_n in_o he_o so_o each_o of_o they_o be_v raise_v and_o intend_v to_o the_o high_a measure_n so_o that_o there_o can_v be_v nothing_o add_v to_o it_o to_o make_v it_o more_o complete_a and_o perfect_a indeed_o my_o brethren_n he_o receive_v not_o the_o spirit_n by_o measure_n from_o the_o father_n as_o the_o evangelist_n observe_v john_n 4.32_o but_o beyond_o all_o measure_n but_o now_o the_o minister_n of_o christ_n receive_v from_o he_o but_o a_o measure_n of_o grace_n as_o the_o expression_n be_v rom._n 12.3_o so_o much_o as_o he_o see_v fit_a to_o qualify_v they_o for_o the_o work_n that_o he_o employ_v they_o in_o as_o you_o may_v see_v eph._n 4.8_o when_o he_o ascend_v up_o on_o high_a he_o give_v gift_n unto_o man_n for_o the_o work_n of_o the_o ministry_n and_o for_o the_o edify_n of_o of_o their_o commission_n mar._n 16.15_o go_v preach_v the_o gospel_n to_o every_o creature_n the_o minister_n of_o christ_n be_v separate_v to_o the_o gospel_n as_o rom._n 1.1_o they_o must_v preach_v all_o gospel_n or_o else_o all_o for_o gospel_n end_v they_o must_v preach_v law_n with_o gospel_n purpose_n and_o evangelical_n intention_n so_o that_o the_o father_n send_v the_o son_n be_v the_o chief_a apostle_n both_o be_v preacher_n of_o the_o gospel_n but_o christ_n be_v the_o chief_a preacher_n he_o preach_v it_o with_o such_o authority_n as_o they_o be_v not_o invest_v with_o and_o with_o such_o efficacy_n too_o as_o they_o can_v never_o reach_v to_o he_o preach_v by_o the_o spirit_n to_o the_o heart_n and_o to_o the_o inward_a man_n and_o so_o he_o do_v it_o with_o infallible_a success_n they_o can_v preach_v only_o to_o the_o ear_n and_o to_o the_o outward_a man_n and_o hence_o they_o often_o fail_v of_o the_o desire_a issue_n they_o spend_v their_o strength_n in_o vain_a as_o the_o prophet_n once_o complain_v indeed_o the_o efficacy_n of_o their_o preach_n depend_v whole_o on_o the_o work_n and_o power_n of_o christ_n so_o that_o you_o see_v he_o be_v transcendent_o above_o they_o in_o the_o same_o business_n and_o then_o beside_o jesus_n christ_n be_v send_v on_o business_n which_o they_o be_v not_o to_o touch_v with_o he_o be_v send_v about_o the_o work_n of_o man_n redemption_n of_o satisfaction_n to_o the_o justice_n of_o his_o father_n by_o his_o bitter_a death_n and_o passion_n which_o be_v too_o heavy_a and_o too_o hard_o for_o any_o man_n or_o angel_n to_o go_v through_o with_o or_o to_o have_v a_o hand_n in_o there_o be_v a_o great_a similitude_n between_o the_o father_n send_v etc._n etc._n in_o relation_n to_o the_o end_n
