wherefore_o that_o god_n in_o christ_n may_v be_v thy_o teacher_n study_v this_o conformity_n to_o god_n which_o by_o likeness_n by_o covenant_n by_o friendship_n by_o marriage-love_n may_v draw_v he_o to_o teach_v thou_o and_o first_o put_v off_o the_o old_a man_n corrupt_a with_o deceivable_a lust_n which_o cause_n in_o thou_o a_o deformity_n yea_o a_o enmity_n against_o god_n the_o teacher_n from_o the_o inward_a &_o rest_n on_o the_o former_a without_o respect_n to_o the_o latter_a whereas_o when_o we_o go_v to_o the_o outward_a teacher_n which_o be_v man_n we_o shall_v set_v our_o eye_n and_o heart_n chief_o on_o the_o inward_a teacher_n which_o be_v god_n we_o shall_v challenge_v he_o upon_o his_o covenant_n and_o promise_n say_v and_o pray_v remember_v thy_o promise_n to_o thy_o servant_n wherein_o thou_o have_v make_v he_o to_o hope_v and_o therefore_o speak_v lord_n that_o thy_o servant_n may_v hear_v for_o without_o thy_o speak_n thy_o servant_n can_v hear_v he_o may_v hear_v the_o outward_a 2._o sound_n of_o the_o word_n in_o his_o ear_n but_o he_o can_v hear_v the_o inward_a sense_n and_o power_n in_o his_o heart_n the_o outward_a israel_n have_v see_v outward_o 16._o and_o know_v that_o the_o sufficiency_n 6._o of_o inward_a teach_n come_v only_o from_o god_n therefore_o while_o thy_o outward_a ear_n expect_v the_o outward_a word_n of_o the_o outward_a teacher_n let_v thy_o inward_a ear_n expect_v the_o inward_a teach_n of_o the_o inward_a and_o high_a teacher_n 7._o for_o 2._o thus_o only_o may_v the_o plant_n though_o of_o paul_n profit_n and_o increase_v thou_o be_v teach_v according_a to_o the_o new_a covenant_n for_o thou_o be_v teach_v of_o god_n come_v therefore_o diligent_o to_o this_o school_n of_o he_o where_o he_o use_v thus_o to_o teach_v believe_v his_o covenant_n and_o take_v it_o by_o believe_v and_o second_o that_o thou_o may_v the_o better_o believe_v and_o take_v it_o he_o have_v give_v thou_o seal_n of_o the_o new_a covenant_n by_o which_o the_o new_a covenant_n be_v present_v unto_o thy_o faith_n seal_v and_o confirm_v by_o this_o confirmation_n and_o seal_v thy_o faith_n shall_v be_v increase_v in_o the_o eucharist_n thou_o do_v put_v he_o on_o more_o and_o more_o thy_o be_v in_o christ_n even_o thy_o new_a be_v which_o thou_o receive_v before_o thou_o do_v now_o feed_v and_o nourish_v and_o bring_v forth_o into_o manhood_n and_o as_o thou_o grow_v into_o manhood_n thou_o know_v by_o the_o apostle_n reason_n etc._n thou_o be_v enable_v to_o grow_v in_o knowledge_n to_o be_v
this_o be_v not_o perfect_v at_o once_o therefore_o as_o at_o thy_o first_o entrance_n into_o the_o heavenly_a academy_n thou_o must_v begin_v a_o denial_n and_o annihilation_n of_o thy_o own_o wit_n and_o wisdom_n so_o after_o thou_o be_v enter_v thou_o must_v strive_v to_o continue_v and_o increase_v this_o denial_n for_o though_o thou_o do_v in_o will_n and_o purpose_n put_v it_o off_o and_o deny_v it_o whole_o at_o first_o yet_o in_o act_n it_o be_v not_o whole_o put_v off_o it_o be_v part_n of_o the_o remain_a body_n of_o sin_n which_o hang_v so_o fast_o on_o that_o it_o can_v whole_o reason_n against_o god_n reason_n and_o wit_n against_o god_n wisdom_n and_o the_o admission_n of_o humane_a wit_n against_o god_n wisdom_n by_o some_o great_a wit_n that_o perchance_o first_o in_o purpose_n or_o profession_n submit_v to_o the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n have_v be_v the_o cause_n of_o many_o dangerous_a error_n in_o the_o church_n i_o say_v a_o mixture_n of_o man_n wit_n with_o the_o divine_a word_n have_v breed_v mule_n in_o divinity_n even_o confuse_v foolish_a and_o misshape_a error_n but_o let_v the_o learner_n in_o this_o high_a academy_n lie_v aside_o his_o own_o sight_n which_o be_v blindness_n and_o get_v from_o his_o teacher_n that_o eyesalve_n which_o may_v give_v he_o spiritual_a discern_v let_v he_o keep_v his_o wit_n in_o a_o perpetual_a captivity_n and_o passiveness_n to_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o beware_v that_o by_o no_o mean_n he_o make_v that_o portion_n of_o spirit_n which_o be_v in_o he_o to_o suffer_v under_o the_o activity_n of_o his_o own_o carnal_a wit_n but_o have_v receive_v a_o eye_n from_o god_n let_v he_o see_v god_n matter_n with_o god_n eye_n and_o so_o shall_v he_o keep_v himself_o safe_a from_o error_n and_o shall_v be_v lead_v into_o the_o truth_n for_o a_o mind_n give_v of_o god_n do_v approve_v only_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n and_o though_o in_o this_o life_n of_o imperfection_n no_o man_n have_v so_o much_o spiritual_a light_n as_o to_o discern_v all_o truth_n yet_o the_o spiritual_a light_n which_o every_o spiritual_a man_n that_o be_v teach_v of_o god_n receive_v be_v sufficient_a for_o the_o discovery_n or_o discern_v of_o so_o much_o truth_n as_o may_v lead_v he_o like_o a_o stream_n to_o the_o ocean_n and_o fullness_n of_o truth_n and_o blessedness_n and_o for_o a_o preparation_n towards_o this_o fullness_n let_v he_o work_v out_o and_o endeavour_v to_o perfect_v his_o own_o emptiness_n for_o the_o more_o degree_n he_o gain_v of_o this_o emptiness_n the_o more_o degree_n shall_v he_o receive_v of_o god_n fullness_n even_o of_o his_o teach_a grace_n here_o and_o his_o crown_a grace_n for_o ever_o hereafter_o chap._n viii_o a_o three_o step_n conformity_n to_o god_n stature_n in_o christ_n jesus_n towards_o a_o perfect_a man_n we_o leave_v our_o childish_a knowledge_n behind_o 14._o and_o grow_v up_o to_o he_o in_o all_o thing_n &_o therefore_o in_o knowledge_n
