unto_o weep_v and_o mourn_v and_o to_o baldness_n and_o gird_v with_o sackeloth_n and_o behold_v joy_n and_o gladness_n slay_v ox_n and_o kill_a sheep_n eat_v flesh_n and_o drink_v wine_n eat_v and_o drink_v for_o to_o morrow_n we_o shall_v die_v but_o what_o follow_v 14._o and_o it_o be_v declare_v in_o the_o ear_n of_o the_o lord_n of_o host_n sure_o this_o iniquity_n shall_v not_o be_v purge_v from_o you_o till_o you_o die_v say_v the_o lord_n god_n of_o host_n but_o to_o conclude_v this_o point_n let_v we_o follow_v the_o advice_n of_o the_o lord_n by_o his_o prophet_n joel_n therefore_o pray_v with_o fervency_n of_o spirit_n 15._o and_o with_o sigh_n that_o can_v be_v express_v and_o that_o we_o may_v pray_v with_o the_o more_o earnestness_n it_o be_v very_o expedient_a that_o with_o our_o prayer_n we_o shall_v join_v fast_v only_o let_v we_o take_v heed_n that_o our_o fast_n be_v not_o external_a only_o but_o that_o it_o be_v a_o extraordinary_a exercise_n of_o prayer_n and_o repentance_n lest_o we_o seem_v to_o fast_v no_o better_o than_o the_o beast_n of_o niniveh_n 3.7_o and_o as_o we_o be_v to_o pray_v with_o fervency_n so_o also_o with_o faith_n be_v assure_v that_o the_o lord_n do_v not_o only_o accept_v of_o we_o and_o our_o prayer_n in_o the_o name_n &_o mediation_n of_o christ_n but_o also_o that_o our_o request_n shall_v be_v grant_v to_o we_o so_o far_o forth_o as_o be_v expedient_a for_o god_n glory_n and_o our_o good_a for_o as_o james_n say_v 1.5.6_o if_o any_o man_n want_v wisdom_n namely_o how_o to_o demean_v himself_o in_o affliction_n let_v he_o ask_v of_o god_n who_o give_v to_o all_o man_n liberal_o and_o reproach_v no_o man_n and_o it_o shall_v be_v give_v he_o but_o let_v he_o ask_v in_o faith_n and_o waver_v not_o etc._n etc._n for_o it_o be_v the_o prayer_n of_o faith_n that_o save_v the_o sick_a 5.15_o and_o help_v in_o affliction_n and_o this_o faith_n as_o it_o must_v rely_v upon_o the_o intercession_n and_o mediation_n of_o christ_n our_o saviour_n who_o present_v our_o prayer_n unto_o god_n 8.3.4_o and_o perfume_v they_o with_o the_o odour_n of_o his_o own_o sacrifice_n that_o they_o may_v be_v acceptable_a unto_o he_o so_o also_o upon_o the_o gracious_a promise_n of_o god_n make_v unto_o we_o in_o christ_n and_o namely_o and_o especial_o upon_o this_o promise_n call_v upon_o i_o in_o the_o day_n of_o trouble_n and_o i_o will_v deliver_v thou_o which_o promise_v of_o god_n if_o we_o can_v find_v in_o our_o heart_n to_o believe_v to_o what_o purpose_n shall_v we_o pray_v we_o be_v therefore_o to_o pray_v in_o faith_n 8.28_o and_o thereby_o to_o comfort_v ourselves_o in_o the_o lord_n our_o god_n and_o to_o rest_v quiet_o in_o his_o good_a will_n and_o pleasure_n assure_v ourselves_o that_o god_n will_v cause_v all_o thing_n to_o work_v together_o for_o the_o good_a of_o those_o that_o do_v love_v he_o last_o 2._o we_o must_v pray_v with_o perseverance_n and_o without_o faint_v as_o our_o saviour_n unto_o we_o in_o due_a time_n and_o forasmuch_o as_o we_o know_v not_o what_o to_o pray_v as_o we_o ought_v 27._o
careful_a to_o avoid_v our_o sin_n if_o we_o desire_v that_o our_o affliction_n may_v be_v remove_v for_o they_o be_v as_o a_o wall_n of_o separation_n betwixt_o god_n and_o us._n 43.8_o if_o therefore_o thou_o will_v not_o cease_v to_o sin_n neither_o will_n god_n cease_v to_o afflict_v thou_o unless_o perhaps_o he_o will_v give_v thou_o over_o as_o one_o that_o be_v incurable_a as_o hypocrisy_n and_o not_o from_o thy_o heart_n either_o because_o thou_o pray_v with_o wander_a thought_n or_o with_o feign_a lip_n with_o wander_a thought_n when_o as_o thy_o tongue_n utter_v a_o prayer_n thy_o heart_n go_v a_o wander_a or_o whore_v after_o the_o vanity_n of_o this_o world_n or_o be_v otherwise_o distract_a with_o other_o unseasonable_a thought_n for_o if_o when_o thou_o come_v near_o to_o the_o lord_n with_o thy_o lip_n thou_o remove_v thy_o heart_n from_o god_n thou_o may_v just_o fear_v leave_v in_o steed_n of_o the_o blessing_n which_o thou_o seem_v to_o ask_v thou_o pull_v down_o the_o judgement_n of_o god_n upon_o thou_o 14._o according_a to_o the_o threaten_n of_o the_o lord_n by_o the_o prophet_n isaiah_n chapter_n 29._o for_o if_o thou_o shall_v join_v
