evil_n even_o among_o old_a professor_n that_o they_o be_v apt_a and_o ready_a to_o despise_v those_o that_o be_v young_a and_o man_n of_o great_a attainment_n that_o think_v their_o head_n be_v full_a and_o i_o can_v wish_v their_o heart_n be_v full_a than_o their_o head_n there_o be_v many_o that_o have_v full_a head_n but_o god_n know_v have_v very_o empty_a heart_n but_o i_o say_v christian_n i_o beseech_v you_o in_o the_o lord_n and_o by_o the_o lord_n that_o you_o will_v carry_v it_o as_o become_v you_o towards_o those_o that_o be_v little_a those_o that_o have_v but_o a_o little_a grace_n do_v what_o in_o you_o ly'_v to_o increase_v that_o little_a to_o cherish_v that_o little_a i_o shall_v urge_v this_o with_o diverse_a consideration_n i_o will_v only_o say_v this_o christian_n the_o increase_n of_o their_o little_a will_v be_v also_o your_o increase_n their_o blessing_n will_v be_v your_o blessing_n as_o you_o be_v member_n of_o the_o whole_a it_o may_v be_v you_o have_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o grace_n but_o let_v i_o tell_v you_o suppose_v you_o have_v god_n may_v make_v they_o very_o useful_a to_o you_o and_o more_o useful_a than_o those_o that_o have_v more_o grace_n be_v ever_o make_v to_o you_o it_o may_v be_v there_o be_v two_o christian_n come_v together_o man_n that_o do_v pretend_v to_o a_o great_a deal_n of_o grace_n they_o fall_v into_o discourse_n together_o and_o what_o be_v the_o subject_n of_o their_o discourse_n alas_o it_o may_v be_v it_o be_v nothing_o that_o do_v concern_v the_o mutual_a advance_v of_o grace_n in_o each_o other_o but_o there_o come_v a_o poor_a christian_a that_o have_v but_o little_a and_o he_o fall_v of_o inquire_v o_o how_o shall_v i_o get_v more_o grace_n and_o discover_v a_o earnestness_n and_o zeal_n of_o spirit_n after_o more_o grace_n and_o many_o other_o thing_n of_o this_o nature_n may_v be_v urge_v i_o will_v but_o only_o add_v this_o i_o pray_v christian_n you_o that_o have_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o grace_n how_o come_v you_o by_o that_o great_a deal_n be_v it_o not_o all_o by_o grace_n do_v not_o other_o christian_n help_v you_o do_v they_o discourage_v you_o do_v they_o cast_v stumble_v block_n of_o iniquity_n before_o your_o face_n do_v they_o receive_v you_o to_o doubtful_a disputation_n no_o no_o they_o be_v ready_a to_o cherish_v and_o encourage_v you_o and_o so_o god_n give_v the_o increase_n but_o this_o be_v that_o that_o i_o will_v have_v you_o to_o take_v along_o with_o you_o that_o their_o little_a may_v be_v better_o than_o your_o great_a deal_n if_o they_o improve_v their_o little_a better_a than_o you_o do_v your_o great_a deal_n and_o it_o may_v be_v true_a in_o this_o sense_n that_o they_o that_o have_v least_o may_v have_v most_o and_o they_o that_o be_v last_o may_v come_v to_o be_v first_o and_o therefore_o christian_n you_o that_o think_v you_o have_v a_o great_a deal_n see_v that_o you_o carry_v it_o as_o become_v you_o to_o those_o that_o have_v but_o little_a use_v 3_o i_o will_v speak_v something_o to_o those_o that_o be_v neither_o great_a nor_o little_a christian_n those_o that_o have_v no_o grace_n at_o all_o neither_o more_o nor_o less_o i_o have_v three_o word_n to_o say_v to_o you_o 1._o suppose_v that_o the_o lord_n shall_v now_o begin_v this_o sift_v work_n among_o you_o i_o pray_v what_o promise_n have_v you_o to_o secure_v you_o for_o aught_o i_o know_v you_o may_v be_v sift_v out_o of_o the_o sieve_n the_o tempest_n may_v come_v and_o blow_v you_o with_o the_o chaff_n into_o unquencheable_a be_v the_o father_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n and_o as_o he_o be_v the_o father_n of_o jesus_n he_o be_v the_o father_n and_o fountain_n of_o all_o our_o mercy_n these_o be_v the_o three_o principal_a proposition_n that_o lie_v in_o the_o word_n it_o be_v only_o the_o first_o of_o these_o that_o i_o design_n if_o the_o lord_n please_v to_o make_v the_o subject_a of_o this_o day_n discourse_n and_o the_o last_o that_o i_o shall_v mention_v be_v this_o he_o have_v bless_v we_o with_o all_o spiritual_a blessing_n that_o be_v a_o universal_a subjection_n of_o all_o our_o spiritual_a enemy_n under_o we_o and_o i_o think_v this_o may_v be_v look_v upon_o as_o a_o great_a spiritual_a blessing_n it_o be_v true_a indeed_o my_o friend_n all_o thing_n be_v put_v under_o the_o foot_n of_o jesus_n christ_n but_o all_o thing_n be_v not_o yet_o put_v under_o our_o foot_n but_o that_o you_o may_v see_v the_o reason_n of_o this_o great_a privilege_n how_o grace_n have_v lay_v it_o in_o christ_n do_v but_o observe_v those_o passage_n that_o you_o have_v in_o v._o 21_o 22_o 23._o of_o this_o chapter_n at_o the_o 20_o verse_n and_o have_v set_v he_o at_o his_o own_o right_a hand_n in_o heavenly_a place_n far_o above_o all_o principality_n and_o might_n and_o dominion_n and_o every_o name_n that_o be_v name_v both_o in_o this_o world_n and_o also_o in_o that_o which_o be_v to_o come_v and_o as_o if_o these_o two_o word_n can_v not_o comprehend_v all_o the_o apostle_n add_v in_o general_a and_o have_v put_v all_o thing_n under_o his_o foot_n all_o thing_n that_o be_v enemy_n to_o our_o spiritual_a interest_n all_o thing_n that_o be_v enemy_n unto_o our_o purification_n unto_o our_o sanctification_n unto_o our_o enlighten_v and_o strengthen_v and_o unto_o any_o or_o all_o of_o our_o spiritual_a blessing_n he_o have_v put_v all_o thing_n under_o his_o foot_n obj._n ay_o but_o what_o be_v all_o this_o to_o we_o you_o will_v say_v ans_fw-fr therefore_o i_o pray_v observe_v what_o he_o say_v further_a he_o have_v put_v all_o thing_n under_o his_o foot_n with_o a_o direct_a subserviency_n unto_o his_o church_n verse_n 22._o and_o have_v put_v all_o thing_n under_o his_o foot_n and_o have_v give_v he_o to_o be_v the_o head_n over_o all_o thing_n to_o the_o church_n head_n over_o all_o principality_n over_o all_o the_o power_n of_o darkness_n over_o all_o our_o enemy_n in_o hell_n and_o over_o all_o our_o spiritual_a enemy_n here_o on_o earth_n and_o that_o unto_o his_o church_n and_o people_n which_o he_o call_v his_o body_n the_o fullness_n of_o he_o that_o fill_v all_o in_o all_o now_o my_o friend_n this_o be_v a_o great_a spiritual_a blessing_n and_o that_o the_o spirit_n be_v concern_v in_o this_o be_v evident_a i_o pray_v do_v but_o observe_v a_o passage_n of_o the_o apostle_n in_o his_o epistle_n to_o the_o roman_n chap._n 8._o verseâ—_n 11._o compare_v with_o verse_n 2._o at_o the_o 11_o verse_n if_o the_o spirit_n of_o he_o that_o raise_v up_o jesus_n from_o the_o dead_a dwell_v in_o you_o he_o that_o raise_v up_o christ_n from_o the_o dead_a shall_v also_o quicken_v your_o mortal_a body_n by_o his_o spirit_n that_o dwell_v in_o you_o i_o apprehend_v that_o this_o have_v not_o relation_n primary_o or_o principal_o to_o the_o last_o resurrection_n of_o the_o body_n but_o even_o to_o a_o spiritual_a deliverance_n and_o freedom_n of_o the_o body_n from_o the_o remain_v of_o the_o law_n of_o sin_n &_o death_n which_o yet_o abide_v in_o it_o say_v the_o apostle_n if_o the_o spirit_n of_o he_o that_o raise_v up_o jesus_n from_o the_o dead_a dwell_v in_o your_o mortal_a body_n than_o you_o shall_v be_v quicken_v your_o mortal_a body_n shall_v be_v dispose_v and_o influence_v so_o by_o that_o spirit_n that_o they_o shall_v be_v ready_a than_o now_o they_o be_v to_o serve_v the_o grace_n of_o your_o soul_n according_a to_o the_o dictate_v of_o the_o spirit_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o my_o reason_n for_o this_o interpretation_n be_v this_o the_o apostle_n in_o the_o conclusion_n of_o the_o former_a chapter_n have_v be_v cry_v out_o verse_n 24._o o_o wretched_a man_n that_o i_o be_o who_o shall_v deliver_v i_o from_o this_o body_n of_o death_n which_o he_o have_v confess_v have_v too_o long_o lodge_v in_o his_o member_n in_o the_o former_a part_n of_o the_o chapter_n now_o in_o verse_n 2._o of_o this_o chap._n he_o say_v but_o the_o law_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o life_n which_o be_v in_o christ_n jesus_n have_v make_v i_o free_a from_o the_o law_n of_o sin_n and_o death_n where_o be_v the_o law_n of_o sin_n it_o be_v in_o my_o body_n say_v the_o apostle_n but_o say_v he_o the_o law_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o life_n have_v make_v i_o free_a upon_o this_o hypothesis_n the_o apostle_n do_v conclude_v in_o verse_n 11._o that_o if_o the_o spirit_n of_o he_o that_o raise_v up_o jesus_n from_o the_o dead_a dwell_v in_o we_o then_o shall_v our_o mortal_a body_n be_v quicken_v and_o dispose_v also_o unto_o spiritual_a service_n and_o if_o you_o do_v but_o observe_v it_o the_o apostle_n in_o the_o conclusion_n of_o this_o discourse_n give_v such_o a_o exhortation_n tend_v to_o this_o purpose_n that_o

in_o spirit_n that_o have_v but_o little_a and_o be_v sensible_a that_o they_o have_v but_o a_o little_a though_o they_o have_v but_o a_o little_a yet_o bless_v be_v the_o poor_a for_o they_o be_v the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n 2._o the_o same_o grace_n that_o give_v the_o right_n make_v the_o difference_n the_o gradual_a difference_n though_o there_o be_v a_o gradual_a difference_n in_o the_o receipt_n yet_o it_o be_v the_o same_o grace_n it_o may_v be_v the_o lord_n have_v give_v thou_o five_o talent_n it_o may_v be_v to_o another_o he_o have_v give_v but_o two_o and_o it_o may_v be_v he_o have_v give_v to_o another_o but_o one_o talon_n well_o but_o yet_o i_o say_v it_o be_v the_o same_o grace_n that_o give_v all_o those_o talent_n and_o that_o give_v a_o like_a right_n with_o those_o various_a or_o disproportion_a gift_n it_o be_v the_o same_o grace_n all_o issue_n from_o the_o same_o fountain_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v that_o the_o least_o grace_n will_v be_v look_v after_o he_o that_o give_v thou_o a_o right_n to_o five_o talent_n give_v thy_o brother_n as_o good_a and_o as_o equal_v a_o right_a to_o one_o he_o that_o give_v thy_o neighbour_n a_o possession_n of_o a_o great_a measure_n of_o grace_n and_o thereby_o it_o may_v be_v his_o right_n be_v more_o manifest_v it_o be_v the_o same_o grace_n that_o give_v thou_o the_o possession_n of_o a_o little_a grace_n and_o yet_o thy_o right_n be_v as_o substantial_a and_o true_a because_o the_o grace_n that_o give_v grace_n difference_v in_o its_o give_v and_o yet_o give_v the_o same_o right_n under_o these_o different_a gift_n 4._o the_o least_o grace_n discover_v a_o interest_n in_o the_o great_a relation_n as_o well_o as_o the_o high_a degree_n of_o grace_n do_v where_o there_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o grace_n you_o say_v sure_o this_o be_v a_o child_n of_o god_n ay_o and_o there_o be_v one_o that_o have_v but_o a_o grain_n of_o grace_n that_o be_v as_o sure_o the_o child_n of_o god_n as_o he_o that_o have_v more_o he_o be_v as_o sure_o bear_v of_o god_n as_o he_o that_o have_v the_o great_a degree_n of_o grace_n here_o be_v one_o that_o it_o may_v be_v can_v fill_v a_o prayer_n with_o grace_n and_o here_o be_v another_o that_o have_v hardly_o grace_n enough_o to_o stock_n a_o few_o petition_n or_o it_o may_v be_v he_o have_v grace_n to_o stock_n a_o confession_n or_o two_o and_o he_o put_v forth_o that_o little_a grace_n that_o he_o have_v in_o his_o confession_n or_o petition_n what_o then_o i_o tell_v you_o god_n will_v take_v care_n of_o the_o one_o as_o well_o as_o of_o the_o other_o the_o least_o grain_n shall_v not_o fall_v to_o the_o ground_n because_o the_o least_o grain_n give_v a_o discovery_n of_o a_o interest_n in_o the_o great_a relation_n thou_o say_v sure_o this_o be_v a_o man_n of_o god_n why_o o_o he_o have_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o grace_n and_o i_o say_v as_o sure_o that_o poor_a man_n be_v a_o man_n of_o god_n why_o because_o he_o have_v a_o little_a grace_n a_o member_n of_o jesus_n christ_n be_v that_o man_n who_o grace_n be_v flourish_a ay_o and_o that_o man_n be_v also_o a_o member_n of_o jesus_n christ_n who_o grace_n lie_v under_o the_o ash_n there_o be_v no_o flaming_n forth_o as_o yet_o ay_o but_o my_o friend_n there_o be_v a_o spark_n under_o the_o embers_o i_o shall_v likewise_o open_v this_o in_o these_o two_o branch_n 1._o the_o first_o be_v this_o great_a relation_n do_v not_o depend_v upon_o the_o proportion_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o the_o relation_n nay_o let_v i_o tell_v you_o that_o those_o relation_n that_o do_v discover_v the_o great_a intimacy_n and_o bring_v a_o man_n within_o the_o great_a blessedness_n these_o do_v not_o depend_v or_o hang_v upon_o the_o proportion_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o those_o relation_n o_o say_v the_o spouse_n in_o the_o conclusion_n of_o the_o book_n of_o canticle_n o_o that_o thou_o be_v as_o my_o brother_n that_o suck_v the_o breast_n of_o my_o mother_n 8._o cant._n as_o one_o that_o suck_v the_o breast_n of_o my_o mother_n o_o that_o i_o be_v but_o in_o full_a communion_n with_o he_o well_o it_o may_v be_v thou_o be_v not_o yet_o in_o that_o fullness_n of_o freedom_n of_o spirit_n that_o thou_o can_v not_o as_o yet_o call_v he_o thy_o brother_n yet_o thou_o may_v do_v so_o though_o thou_o have_v but_o little_a grace_n relation_n do_v not_o bear_v proportion_n according_a to_o the_o proportion_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o the_o relate_v and_o therefore_o it_o be_v that_o god_n will_v look_v after_o the_o least_o grain_n of_o grace_n because_o the_o least_o be_v he_o it_o be_v my_o little_a grain_n of_o corn_n this_o be_v my_o little_a grace_n this_o be_v my_o little_a faith_n and_o my_o little_a love_n and_o this_o be_v my_o little_a meekness_n the_o least_o degree_n of_o grace_n do_v discover_v a_o interest_n in_o the_o great_a relation_n and_o greatness_n of_o relation_n do_v not_o bear_v proportion_n to_o greatness_n of_o enjoyment_n 2_o second_o that_o those_o relation_n that_o a_o christian_n stand_v in_o unto_o god_n immediate_o up-his_a enter_v into_o the_o relation_n all_o the_o blessing_n of_o the_o relation_n lie_v before_o he_o now_o the_o least_o degree_n of_o grace_n do_v admit_v to_o the_o relation_n and_o now_o be_v admit_v all_o the_o blessedness_n all_o the_o glory_n all_o the_o sweetness_n all_o the_o comfort_n all_o the_o happiness_n of_o the_o relation_n lie_v before_o this_o man_n as_o well_o as_o before_o he_o that_o have_v the_o great_a degree_n of_o grace_n you_o will_v say_v what_o be_v the_o glory_n of_o the_o relation_n nay_o what_o glory_n be_v there_o that_o be_v not_o in_o any_o relation_n that_o belong_v to_o the_o gospel_n in_o every_o gospel_n relation_n there_o be_v a_o fullness_n of_o glory_n and_o a_o fullness_n of_o blessedness_n now_o no_o soon_o be_v a_o poor_a creature_n admit_v into_o the_o relation_n but_o all_o the_o blessedness_n of_o the_o relation_n ly'_v open_a before_o he_o and_o the_o least_o degree_n of_o grace_n admit_v into_o the_o relation_n the_o lord_n do_v not_o deal_v with_o his_o people_n that_o be_v relate_v to_o he_o as_o we_o do_v first_o bring_v he_o into_o one_o relation_n and_o then_o into_o another_o relation_n and_o then_o into_o a_o high_a relation_n and_o then_o into_o a_o near_a relation_n as_o now_o many_o time_n man_n
