so_o that_o all_o our_o affliction_n may_v be_v mitigate_v because_o we_o know_v that_o they_o shall_v all_o turn_v to_o our_o benefit_n and_o welfare_n through_o the_o grace_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o this_o be_v it_o which_o we_o be_v here_o to_o observe_v and_o beside_o let_v we_o here_o to_o join_v the_o the_o answer_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n when_o he_o same_o in_o our_o heart_n by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n and_o beside_o when_o we_o have_v the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n daily_o sound_v in_o our_o ear_n let_v our_o faith_n be_v confirm_v and_o let_v we_o not_o slide_v albeit_o all_o thing_n be_v so_o confound_v as_o can_v not_o be_v possible_o be_v more_o wish_v and_o thus_o we_o see_v what_o it_o be_v that_o we_o have_v to_o consider_v strengthen_v we_o in_o he_o that_o we_o may_v forsake_v this_o world_n and_o come_v unto_o heaven_n it_o be_v say_v in_o that_o place_n of_o isaiah_n that_o the_o spirit_n of_o wisdom_n rest_v upon_o strange_a kind_n of_o excuse_n and_o therefore_o when_o we_o see_v that_o god_n so_o liberal_o deal_v as_o that_o he_o will_v neither_o exclude_v age_n nor_o sex_n from_o receive_v of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v not_o we_o very_o accurse_v to_o withdraw_v ourselves_o from_o he_o when_o as_o he_o be_v desirous_a to_o come_v near_o we_o and_o to_o say_v the_o truth_n the_o pprophecy_n that_o be_v needs_o be_v manifest_v &_o we_o must_v also_o understand_v that_o the_o thing_n which_o be_v foretell_v be_v most_o true_a and_o therefore_o since_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v speak_v of_o have_v so_o manifest_o appear_v curse_a be_v we_o if_o we_o do_v not_o our_o best_a to_o walk_v in_o the_o fear_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o receive_v the_o grace_n which_o he_o offer_v us._n we_o have_v alredye_a say_v that_o he_o take_v exception_n too_o none_o howbeit_o we_o be_v so_o wicked_a as_o that_o we_o can_v take_v in_o good_a part_n the_o thing_n offer_v unto_o us._n what_o be_v the_o cause_n thereof_o sure_o sure_o our_o infidelity_n wherefore_o neither_o young_a nor_o old_a can_v excuse_v themselves_o of_o this_o fault_n in_o not_o submit_v themselves_o unto_o the_o obedience_n of_o they_o must_v humble_v themselves_o under_o the_o mighty_a hand_n of_o god_n to_o the_o end_n they_o may_v understand_v that_o they_o have_v a_o father_n in_o heaven_n who_o will_v not_o care_v only_o for_o their_o bodily_a nurriture_n but_o will_v also_o entertain_v and_o govern_v they_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n they_o pass_v not_o a_o hawe_z of_o all_o this_o but_o take_v leave_v to_o do_v what_o wickedness_n soever_o they_o lust_v now_o because_o the_o time_n will_v not_o serve_v to_o proceed_v any_o further_a herein_o we_o will_v reserve_v the_o handle_n of_o the_o residue_n until_o at_o this_o day_n he_o inrich_v we_o with_o his_o grace_n if_o the_o fault_n be_v not_o we_o but_o we_o be_v so_o accurse_v as_o that_o we_o be_v void_a of_o they_o by_o reason_n of_o our_o unthankfulness_n for_o his_o liberality_n be_v as_o great_a at_o this_o day_n as_o ever_o it_o be_v in_o the_o time_n of_o the_o apostle_n whenas_o he_o send_v down_o unto_o they_o the_o holy_a ghost_n even_o to_o make_v we_o partaker_n of_o the_o self_n same_o grace_n which_o he_o liberal_o bestow_v upon_o they_o howbeit_o we_o be_v so_o incredulous_a and_o faithless_a as_o that_o we_o stop_v that_o way_n upon_o he_o by_o which_o he_o will_v come_v unto_o us._n for_o when_o he_o call_v we_o by_o his_o word_n to_o make_v we_o partaker_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n we_o draw_v arsewarde_v so_o that_o a_o man_n will_v think_v we_o have_v conspire_v to_o set_v ourselves_o against_o he_o and_o where_o both_o old_a and_o young_a man_n and_o woman_n be_v call_v to_o be_v partaker_n of_o this_o grace_n and_o aught_o to_o endeavour_n themselves_o by_o all_o mean_v possible_a to_o receive_v the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o more_o and_o more_o to_o persevere_v and_o continue_v in_o receive_v of_o the_o same_o we_o see_v the_o elder_a sort_n to_o be_v more_o hard_o heart_a and_o obstinate_a than_o the_o rest_n and_o the_o young_a people_n to_o be_v give_v over_o to_o all_o kind_n of_o lewdness_n so_o that_o if_o they_o be_v tell_v of_o their_o dissoluteness_n they_o wax_v so_o mad_a and_o furious_a as_o that_o it_o shall_v seem_v they_o will_v mar_v all_o and_o when_o man_n shall_v be_v manlyke_a and_o sharp_a witted_a to_o give_v diligent_a heed_n unto_o the_o word_n of_o god_n they_o be_v become_v as_o blockish_a as_o bruit_v beast_n and_o where_o the_o woman_n also_o shall_v be_v humble_a and_o walk_v sober_o and_o honest_o they_o be_v extreme_a dissolute_a and_o too_o too_o gallant_a and_o full_a of_o all_o superfluous_a vain_a vanity_n and_o therefore_o if_o now_o we_o see_v not_o man_n enjoy_v the_o grace_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n which_o god_n here_o speak_v of_o that_o he_o will_v pour_v out_o upon_o his_o servant_n and_o handmaid_n it_o be_v not_o because_o he_o have_v change_v any_o whit_n his_o determination_n and_o purpose_n but_o by_o reason_n we_o will_v not_o suffer_v he_o to_o do_v we_o good_a for_o when_o he_o come_v near_o we_o we_o draw_v backward_o wherefore_o he_o be_v not_o the_o let_v why_o we_o do_v not_o all_o receive_v his_o grace_n for_o the_o prophet_n say_v as_o we_o have_v heretofore_o say_v that_o god_n will_v send_v unto_o the_o jew_n not_o only_o to_o pull_v they_o from_o out_o of_o the_o bondage_n of_o the_o devil_n but_o to_o make_v they_o partaker_n also_o of_o the_o gift_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n we_o show_v the_o effect_n thereof_o that_o it_o may_v be_v know_v that_o we_o vain_o take_v not_o upon_o we_o this_o name_n of_o christianity_n for_o
we_o must_v not_o do_v as_o many_o of_o the_o papist_n do_v who_o neither_o care_n for_o god_n nor_o his_o word_n but_o content_v themselves_o only_o with_o this_o bare_a name_n of_o a_o christian_a and_o so_o they_o may_v be_v call_v by_o that_o name_n they_o care_v for_o no_o more_o now_o if_o they_o be_v ask_v and_o if_o they_o be_v christian_n i_o pray_v you_o what_o answer_n will_v they_o make_v sure_o they_o think_v they_o have_v great_a wrong_n offer_v they_o to_o have_v this_o question_n demand_v what_o i_o beseech_v you_o good_a sir_n will_v they_o say_v be_v we_o not_o christian_n have_v we_o not_o be_v baptize_v yea_o iwis_o i_o grant_v it_o but_o what_o faith_n have_v you_o for_o all_o this_o very_o they_o will_v say_v that_o they_o believe_v as_o the_o church_n beléeve_v and_o so_o by_o this_o mean_a they_o have_v aswadle_v faith_n wherein_o their_o teacher_n have_v instruct_v they_o in_o say_v that_o it_o be_v sufficient_a for_o they_o to_o believe_v as_o the_o church_n beléeve_v let_v they_o also_o be_v ask_v how_o god_n be_v to_o be_v serve_v and_o worship_v why_o they_o think_v that_o question_n be_v soon_o answer_v and_o thus_o do_v god_n just_o punish_v the_o iniquity_n of_o man_n when_o we_o see_v simple_a soul_n guide_v by_o such_o instructer_n of_o satan_n to_o bring_v they_o tumble_v headlonge_v together_o into_o the_o bottomless_a pyt_n of_o hell_n with_o themselves_o thus_o we_o see_v how_o this_o romish_a idol_n have_v licour_v christendom_n with_o all_o kind_n of_o lie_v and_o false_a doctrine_n and_o how_o so_o forsooth_o because_o man_n have_v stop_v up_o the_o way_n against_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o be_v content_v to_o be_v lycour_v with_o lease_v but_o by_o the_o way_n let_v we_o come_v home_o to_o ourselves_o and_o let_v we_o neither_o condemn_v the_o papist_n nor_o yet_o any_o other_o but_o eftsoon_o apply_v this_o doctrine_n unto_o our_o own_o use_n first_o of_o all_o we_o have_v the_o gospel_n the_o doctrine_n of_o all_o wisdom_n and_o yet_o how_o deaf_a and_o blockish_a be_v we_o we_o be_v daily_o preach_v unto_o but_o what_o instruction_n receive_v we_o thereby_o for_o all_o that_o sure_o sure_o it_o be_v well_o enough_o perceive_v and_o the_o fruit_n that_o come_v by_o it_o without_o all_o doubt_n it_o be_v true_o say_v that_o we_o have_v the_o gospel_n but_o if_o we_o live_v not_o in_o all_o obedience_n thereunto_o what_o testimony_n shall_v we_o have_v that_o we_o be_v the_o servant_n of_o god_n for_o according_a to_o that_o which_o we_o handle_v on_o sunday_n last_o we_o can_v be_v the_o servant_n of_o god_n without_o we_o be_v partaker_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n who_o be_v not_o without_o cause_n call_v the_o spirit_n of_o wisdom_n for_o by_o this_o we_o be_v show_v that_o we_o can_v have_v so_o small_a a_o portion_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n if_o we_o will_v continue_v it_o but_o that_o god_n will_v more_o and_o more_o augment_v it_o in_o us._n in_o very_a deed_n every_o man_n can_v have_v the_o like_a measure_n thereof_o howbeit_o that_o be_v no_o let_v why_o we_o shall_v not_o increase_v our_o small_a talon_n for_o although_o a_o man_n have_v the_o gift_n of_o tongue_n yet_o may_v he_o not_o have_v one_o some_o grace_n which_o a_o other_o man_n have_v and_o hereupon_o be_v that_o say_n of_o saint_n paul_n verify_v 4.7_o rom._n 12.3_o ephes_n 4.7_o that_o god_n will_v give_v of_o his_o grace_n to_o every_o man_n according_a to_o such_o measure_n as_o we_o be_v the_o member_n of_o jesus_n christ_n as_o we_o see_v that_o the_o knowledge_n of_o that_o which_o be_v speak_v of_o and_o that_o it_o be_v god_n which_o guide_v we_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n to_o the_o end_n we_o shall_v not_o be_v like_a unto_o those_o blind_a christ_n be_v not_o to_o place_v we_o in_o this_o world_n as_o in_o a_o paradise_n and_o to_o live_v in_o it_o at_o our_o ease_n and_o pleasure_n but_o that_o jesus_n christ_n be_v send_v to_o a_o other_o end_n to_o wit_n that_o we_o may_v be_v draw_v from_o these_o earthly_a thing_n and_o be_v lift_v up_o unto_o heavenly_a matter_n and_o to_o say_v true_o there_o be_v never_o so_o horrible_a and_o wonderful_a thing_n as_o be_v at_o the_o come_n of_o jesus_n christ_n now_o if_o it_o be_v ask_v why_o such_o thing_n come_v to_o pass_v after_o that_o jesus_n christ_n be_v manifest_v it_o be_v because_o we_o be_v so_o curse_v as_o that_o we_o will_v not_o receive_v the_o grace_n which_o he_o will_v have_v bestow_v upon_o us._n and_o therefore_o when_o our_o lord_n offer_v himself_o unto_o we_o and_o we_o refuse_v he_o must_v he_o not_o then_o of_o necessity_n so_o lift_v up_o his_o hand_n as_o to_o thunder_n and_o storm_n that_o we_o may_v be_v afeard_a of_o that_o our_o so_o great_a unthankfulness_n we_o see_v therefore_o why_o it_o be_v say_v that_o when_o god_n have_v pour_v out_o his_o holy_a spirit_n that_o we_o must_v needs_o see_v wonderful_a trouble_n and_o when_o we_o have_v look_v unto_o heaven_n above_o and_o upon_o the_o earth_n beneath_o we_o shall_v see_v in_o they_o both_o such_o great_a trouble_n and_o fear_n as_o that_o a_o man_n will_v think_v heaven_n and_o earth_n shall_v even_o go_v together_o so_o that_o the_o sun_n shall_v be_v darken_v the_o moon_n be_v turn_v to_o blood_n the_o star_n
in_o such_o sort_n neither_o but_o that_o he_o always_o have_v a_o great_a prerogative_n over_o his_o child_n for_o it_o be_v good_a reason_n he_o shall_v be_v the_o head_n of_o his_o church_n and_o to_o say_v the_o truth_n the_o glory_n which_o he_o communicate_v with_o we_o be_v not_o derogatory_n from_o he_o neither_o yet_o be_v it_o thereby_o make_v any_o whit_n less_o howbeit_o we_o must_v be_v transform_v as_o saint_n paul_n say_v to_o the_o phillippian_o 3.21_o phil._n 3.21_o and_o where_o we_o be_v now_o so_o full_a of_o infirmity_n as_o be_v lamentable_a it_o can_v be_v choose_v but_o that_o our_o life_n must_v be_v make_v like_o unto_o the_o heavenly_a life_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o so_o when_o saint_n paul_n speak_v after_o that_o manner_n he_o namely_o have_v regard_n unto_o the_o state_n of_o the_o faithful_a as_o it_o be_v in_o this_o world_n for_o we_o be_v note_v point_a at_o with_o the_o finger_n and_o our_o tongue_n pull_v out_o we_o see_v how_o the_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a make_v a_o jest_n at_o the_o child_n of_o god_n and_o it_o be_v meet_v we_o shall_v be_v make_v thus_o contemptible_a to_o the_o end_n we_o may_v learn_v to_o look_v for_o no_o glory_n here_o in_o this_o world_n howbeit_o god_n will_v when_o it_o please_v he_o have_v we_o exalt_v above_o they_o all_o but_o his_o meaning_n in_o the_o mean_a while_n be_v that_o we_o shall_v suffer_v such_o slander_n and_o reproach_n that_o we_o may_v look_v up_o into_o heaven_n and_o seek_v for_o our_o triumph_n and_o victory_n there_o for_o to_o what_o purpose_n be_v if_o we_o shall_v desire_v it_o must_v it_o not_o needs_o be_v say_v that_o we_o be_v too_o too_o faint_a heart_a wherefore_o according_a to_o my_o first_o say_v that_o forsomuch_o as_o the_o of_o it_o will_v they_o say_v and_o yet_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n a_o man_n shall_v see_v nothing_o in_o they_o but_o wantonness_n and_o all_o ungodliness_n and_o as_o religious_a as_o dog_n and_o swine_n and_o examine_v their_o life_n and_o we_o shall_v find_v they_o altogether_o disloyal_a and_o faithless_a like_o fox_n full_a of_o treason_n perjury_n cruelty_n and_o bitterness_n unto_o their_o neighbour_n give_v to_o all_o kind_n of_o harm_n and_o outrage_n and_o full_a of_o all_o corruption_n so_o that_o whosoever_o give_v they_o most_o they_o will_v be_v sure_a to_o be_v no_o loser_n they_o will_v keep_v open_a shop_n to_o take_v of_o all_o hand_n insomuch_o that_o they_o will_v not_o only_o sell_v their_o faith_n and_o credit_n but_o their_o honour_n and_o honesty_n also_o even_o in_o open_a sight_n and_o will_v keep_v open_a fair_a and_o market_n to_o utter_v all_o wickedness_n to_o be_v short_a they_o will_v show_v themselves_o extreme_a impudent_a contemptuous_a person_n and_o yet_o forsooth_o they_o will_v not_o stick_v to_o brag_v that_o they_o be_v the_o frowarde_a man_n in_o all_o the_o church_n of_o god_n and_o think_v that_o god_n will_v help_v they_o as_o if_o he_o be_v great_o behold_v unto_o they_o and_o therefore_o as_o we_o see_v it_o to_o be_v thus_o at_o this_o day_n even_o so_o the_o prophet_n speak_v to_o those_o that_o be_v in_o his_o day_n say_v what_o what_o kind_n of_o brag_n be_v these_o that_o you_o make_v of_o the_o lord_n come_v why_o think_v you_o to_o receive_v any_o benefit_n by_o his_o come_n no_o no_o but_o be_v assure_v that_o it_o will_v be_v a_o terrible_a and_o a_o most_o fearful_a day_n to_o you_o and_o so_o according_a to_o my_o first_o say_n we_o have_v to_o note_v out_o of_o this_o place_n of_o must_v learn_v to_o consecrate_v ourselves_o to_o holiness_n of_o life_n and_o to_o separate_v ourselves_o from_o the_o corruption_n of_o the_o world_n and_o the_o flesh_n and_o thus_o much_o for_o the_o first_o point_n but_o to_o the_o attain_n hereof_o let_v we_o note_v that_o we_o must_v begin_v with_o faith_n according_a to_o that_o which_o we_o have_v late_o say_v for_o to_o say_v true_o faith_n 6._o act_n 15._o 6._o be_v the_o spring_n head_n of_o all_o holiness_n as_o it_o be_v say_v in_o the_o act_n where_o saint_n peter_n say_v that_o god_n cleanse_v the_o heart_n of_o man_n by_o faith_n and_o this_o be_v speak_v to_o this_o end_n and_o purpose_n to_o show_v that_o whatsoever_o glorious_a show_n we_o make_v that_o we_o shall_v always_o be_v corrupt_a and_o stink_a before_o faith_n it_o can_v be_v choose_v but_o that_o we_o must_v eftsoon_o be_v sanctify_v to_o wit_n that_o we_o can_v but_o be_v reform_v to_o the_o service_n of_o god_n and_o be_v consecrate_v to_o honour_v he_o and_o how_o be_v that_o forsooth_o because_o that_o we_o embrace_v jesus_n christ_n by_o faith_n he_o will_v dwell_v in_o we_o according_a to_o the_o say_n of_o all_o the_o whole_a scripture_n and_o namely_o saint_n paul_n use_v these_o word_n to_o the_o ephesian_n jesus_n christ_n say_v he_o dwell_v in_o your_o heart_n by_o faith_n 3.17_o ephe._n 3.17_o i_o beseech_v you_o tell_v i_o do_v not_o these_o thing_n hang_v ill_a favored_o together_o that_o jesus_n christ_n dwell_v in_o we_o and_o we_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n give_v ourselves_o to_o all_o villainy_n and_o
