the_o mutual_a kindness_n and_o lovingnesse_n of_o the_o father_n and_o of_o the_o son_n of_o the_o father_n the_o understander_n towards_o the_o son_n conceyve_v and_o beget_v by_o his_o understanding_n and_o of_o the_o son_n back_o again_o towards_o the_o father_n acknowledge_v all_o that_o he_o have_v and_o all_o that_o he_o be_v to_o be_v of_o the_o father_n and_o this_o say_a will_n be_v the_o essence_n of_o god_n himself_o and_o consequent_o eternal_o active_a and_o active_o eternal_a for_o in_o the_o everlasting_a all_o thing_n be_v everlasting_a and_o in_o a_o mere_a act_n all_o thing_n be_v act_n and_o of_o such_o can_v nothing_o proceed_v which_o shall_v not_o be_v like_o they_o needs_o therefore_o must_v this_o spirit_n this_o lovingnesse_n or_o this_o goodwill_n be_v also_o actual_o everlasting_a moreover_o the_o will_n extend_v as_o far_o as_o the_o understanding_n for_o as_o i_o have_v say_v afore_o will_n and_o understanding_n be_v both_o one_o in_o god_n and_o understanding_n do_v perfect_o comprehend_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v understand_v namely_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v belove_v that_o be_v to_o wit_n god_n himself_o the_o will_v then_o do_v by_o his_o action_n which_o be_v love_n &_o like_v extend_v itself_o as_o far_o as_o god_n himself_o and_o so_o the_o three_o person_n be_v equal_a to_o the_o second_o and_o the_o first_o and_o yet_o do_v this_o three_o person_n proceed_v of_o the_o will_n and_o the_o will_n be_v god_n essence_n &_o of_o that_o essence_n can_v nothing_o proceed_v which_o be_v not_o his_o essence_n therefore_o he_o be_v not_o only_o coeternall_a and_o coequal_a but_o also_o coessential_a again_o we_o see_v that_o in_o we_o there_o go_v always_o some_o act_n of_o the_o understanding_n afore_o the_o act_n of_o our_o will_n for_o the_o cause_n why_o we_o will_v thing_n be_v that_o we_o think_v we_o understand_v they_o and_o we_o desire_v they_o for_o the_o good_a which_o we_o perceyve_v in_o they_o &_o the_o love_n of_o a_o thing_n can_v be_v in_o the_o lover_n thereof_o but_o upon_o his_o know_v of_o the_o thing_n love_v neither_o be_v will_v any_o thing_n else_o than_o appetite_n breed_v of_o understanding_n the_o three_o person_n therefore_o proceed_v from_o the_o first_o not_o only_o by_o the_o will_n but_o also_o by_o the_o understanding_n and_o by_o the_o knowledge_n which_o the_o understanding_n breed_v and_o because_o it_o proceed_v of_o two_o and_o not_o by_o way_n of_o resemblance_n but_o by_o act_n of_o will_n we_o term_v he_o proceed_v and_o not_o beget_v which_o be_v in_o effect_n the_o reason_n of_o all_o that_o be_v teach_v we_o in_o the_o church_n concern_v that_o matter_n notwithstanding_o whereas_o we_o say_v that_o the_o action_n of_o understanding_n go_v afore_o the_o action_n of_o will_n our_o meaning_n be_v not_o to_o imagine_v any_o go_n afore_o or_o come_v after_o in_o these_o person_n but_o only_o to_o lay_v forth_o this_o proceed_v by_o the_o order_n of_o nature_n which_o we_o can_v not_o have_v do_v so_o well_o by_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o matter_n as_o if_o we_o shall_v say_v that_o the_o son_n be_v consider_v afore_o the_o holy_a ghost_n in_o like_a manner_n as_o the_o know_v of_o a_o thing_n go_v afore_o the_o desire_n of_o it_o because_o that_o if_o they_o can_v have_v have_v any_o beginning_n the_o son_n have_v be_v foremost_a in_o that_o case_n as_o touch_v name_n we_o call_v he_o most_o common_o the_o holy_a ghost_n holy_a because_o there_o be_v nothing_o in_o god_n which_o be_v not_o pure_a and_o holy_a etc._n whereby_o he_o be_v discern_v from_o all_o other_o spirit_n and_o ghost_n or_o spirit_n because_o we_o common_o call_v those_o thing_n spirit_n the_o beginning_n of_o who_o move_v be_v unknown_a to_o we_o 〈◊〉_d as_o the_o wind_n who_o beginning_n be_v unknown_a unto_o we_o the_o breathe_n of_o the_o heartstring_n which_o proceed_v from_o a_o inward_a beginning_n that_o be_v hide_v from_o we_o and_o such_o other_o thing_n and_o to_o be_v short_a because_o that_o in_o all_o thing_n which_o have_v life_n the_o inward_a force_n proceed_v from_o some_o kind_n of_o will_n by_o a_o certain_a spirit_n now_o as_o for_o love_n it_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o a_o certain_a covert_a forwardness_n or_o foorthgo_n of_o the_o will_n towards_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v love_v insomuch_o that_o the_o very_a benefit_n which_o we_o receyve_v by_o his_o love_n be_v a_o secret_a and_o insensible_a through_o breathe_v which_o work_v in_o we_o &_o yet_o we_o can_v well_o perceyve_v from_o whence_o it_o come_v again_o we_o call_v he_o also_o love_n and_o charity_n because_o all_o the_o action_n of_o will_n be_v in_o love_n and_o wellyke_v as_o in_o their_o root_n in_o like_a manner_n as_o all_o the_o do_n of_o god_n understanding_n méeâ—e_v altogether_o in_o his_o wisdom_n for_o whereas_o we_o desire_v the_o thing_n which_o we_o want_v or_o be_v glad_a of_o the_o thing_n which_o we_o have_v the_o cause_n thereof_o be_v that_o we_o love_v it_o or_o like_o well_o of_o it_o likewise_o also_o whereas_o we_o fear_v a_o thing_n or_o loath_a it_o that_o come_v of_o a_o hatred_n which_o can_v have_v no_o place_n in_o god_n who_o will_n nothing_o be_v able_a to_o withstand_v therefore_o as_o we_o have_v god_n of_o god_n that_o be_v to_o wit_n the_o son_n of_o the_o father_n by_o the_o everlasting_a inworking_a of_o his_o understanding_n so_o also_o have_v we_o god_n of_o god_n again_o that_o be_v to_o wit_n the_o holy_a ghost_n or_o love_n of_o they_o both_o by_o the_o jointworking_a of_o the_o understanding_n and_o will_n together_o whereupon_o we_o conclude_v three_o distinct_a person_n or_o inbeing_n in_o one_o essence_n not_o to_o exclude_v the_o singleness_n thereof_o which_o it_o behove_v we_o to_o hold_v still_o but_o to_o express_v the_o diversity_n thereof_o after_o a_o sort_n which_o ought_v not_o to_o be_v unknown_a namely_o the_o power_n of_o the_o father_n the_o wisdom_n of_o the_o son_n &_o the_o goodness_n of_o their_o love_n for_o who_o by_o who_o and_o in_o who_o who_o it_o have_v please_v the_o say_v only_o one_o unspeakable_a essence_n to_o create_v and_o to_o love_v all_o thing_n but_o there_o be_v yet_o more_o namely_o that_o as_o there_o be_v three_o inbeing_n or_o person_n mo_z in_o this_o essence_n so_o we_o have_v see_v afore_o must_v also_o deny_v that_o he_o have_v make_v any_o thing_n or_o that_o he_o do_v any_o thing_n for_o all_o the_o thing_n which_o we_o see_v here_o below_o be_v mark_v both_o with_o the_o one_o and_o with_o the_o other_o likewise_o he_o that_o confess_v that_o all_o thing_n be_v in_o he_o according_a to_o their_o preach_n unto_o we_o must_v needs_o also_o confess_v the_o son_n and_o the_o holy_a ghost_n to_o be_v the_o wisdom_n and_o the_o love_n for_o they_o be_v but_o action_n of_o those_o two_o which_o can_v be_v without_o their_o action_n neither_o can_v action_n be_v everlasting_o any_o where_n else_o than_o in_o god_n himself_o now_o as_o we_o can_v not_o imagine_v god_n without_o his_o action_n so_o can_v we_o not_o consider_v any_o other_o than_o those_o to_o abide_v in_o he_o nor_o consequent_o any_o other_o underbeing_n that_o proceed_v from_o thence_o whereupon_o we_o say_v also_o that_o a_o four_o person_n can_v be_v admit_v as_o for_o example_n we_o say_v he_o be_v the_o creator_n and_o we_o say_v true_a and_o in_o so_o say_v we_o find_v also_o a_o relation_n to_o the_o creature_n but_o this_o power_n of_o create_v proceed_v from_o the_o power_n which_o be_v in_o the_o father_n and_o be_v not_o a_o action_n that_o abide_v still_o within_o he_o but_o pass_v direct_o into_o the_o thing_n create_v which_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o creator_n be_v as_o nothing_o in_o comparison_n of_o infiniteness_n whereof_o it_o can_v have_v the_o pre-eminence_n also_o we_o say_v he_o be_v a_o saviour_n and_o that_o be_v all_o one_o with_o the_o other_o for_o his_o be_v a_o saviour_n
end_n be_v both_o of_o the_o father_n but_o yet_o be_v they_o divide_v by_o a_o fire_n of_o understanding_n and_o as_o it_o be_v by_o destiny_n distribute_v into_o other_o understanding_n for_o afore_o the_o make_n of_o this_o sundry-shaped_n world_n god_n have_v conceyve_v a_o incorruptible_a pattern_n thereof_o as_o a_o world_n subject_n only_o to_o mind_n and_o understanding_n in_o the_o mould_n whereof_o this_o present_a world_n be_v stamp_v become_v full_a of_o all_o those_o shape_n of_o the_o which_o there_o be_v but_o one_o only_a gracious_a fountain_n and_o again_o in_o another_o place_n he_o say_v as_o follow_v that_o be_v to_o say_v the_o love_n of_o god_n be_v a_o fiery_a bond_n issue_v first_o from_o his_o understanding_n and_o clothe_v itself_o with_o fire_n to_o temper_v the_o conveyance_n of_o the_o waterspring_n by_o spread_v his_o heat_n upon_o the_o same_o these_o be_v their_o accustom_a obscurity_n wherein_o notwithstanding_o it_o be_v clere_o enough_o utter_v that_o there_o be_v a_o father_n a_o son_n and_o a_o love_n that_o link_v they_o together_o and_o moreover_o that_o the_o say_v beget_v mind_n or_o understanding_n be_v he_o by_o who_o god_n frame_v the_o world_n and_o that_o from_o he_o proceed_v the_o divine_a love_n as_o i_o have_v say_v heretofore_o in_o another_o place_n they_o say_v that_o the_o say_v fatherly_a mind_n have_v sow_v and_o plant_v in_o our_o soul_n a_o certain_a resemblance_n of_o the_o say_v beget_v understanding_n and_o that_o our_o will_n be_v not_o acceptable_a unto_o he_o until_o we_o awake_v out_o of_o forgetfulness_n and_o bethink_v ourselves_o again_o of_o the_o 〈◊〉_d pure_a fatherly_a mark_n which_o be_v in_o us._n and_o again_o that_o the_o same_o understanding_n be_v of_o 〈◊〉_d power_n to_o
