god_n â—aid_v their_o sin_n to_o christ_n charge_n and_o make_v he_o sin_n for_o we_o that_o know_v no_o sin_n it_o be_v no_o wonder_n then_o though_o god_n do_v not_o justify_v a_o poor_a sinner_n for_o what_o he_o have_v and_o do_v and_o though_o he_o do_v not_o expect_v perfect_a righteousness_n at_o their_o hand_n for_z he_o have_v make_v he_o to_o he_o sin_n for_o 〈◊〉_d which_o know_v no_o sin_n that_o we_o may_v be_v make_v the_o righteousness_n of_o god_n in_o he_o for_o our_o more_o orderly_a proceed_n i_o will_v do_v two_o thing_n first_o i_o will_v discover_v the_o doctrine_n of_o justification_n in_o a_o description_n second_o i_o will_v open_v the_o description_n quest._n 1_o for_o the_o first_o if_o any_o man_n ask_v i_o what_o justification_n be_v it_o be_v this_o brief_o answer_v justification_n be_v a_o act_n of_o god_n the_o father_n upon_o the_o believer_n whereby_o the_o debt_n and_o sin_n of_o the_o believer_n be_v charge_v upon_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o by_o the_o merit_n and_o satisfaction_n of_o christ_n impute_v to_o the_o believer_n he_o be_v account_v just_a and_o so_o be_v acquit_v before_o god_n as_o righteous_a there_o be_v four_o particular_n in_o the_o description_n first_o it_o be_v a_o act_n of_o god_n the_o father_n upon_o the_o believer_n second_o the_o debt_n of_o the_o believer_n be_v charge_v upon_o our_o saviour_n god_n the_o father_n follow_v as_o it_o be_v the_o suit_n upon_o the_o surety_n and_o not_o upon_o the_o debtor_n both_o these_o be_v in_o these_o word_n of_o the_o text_n he_o have_v make_v he_o sin_n for_o we_o which_o know_v no_o sin_n three_o the_o satisfaction_n of_o christ_n be_v put_v over_o to_o the_o believer_n and_o set_v upon_o his_o score_n as_o in_o these_o word_n that_o we_o may_v be_v make_v the_o righteousness_n of_o god_n in_o he_o four_o by_o this_o mean_n the_o debt_n on_o our_o side_n be_v lay_v upon_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o his_o righteousness_n be_v apply_v to_o we_o god_n the_o father_n acquit_v
saviour_n that_o live_v for_o ever_o and_o he_o be_v able_a to_o save_v for_o ever_o he_o have_v not_o only_o be_v a_o saviour_n in_o time_n past_a but_o he_o be_v still_o you_o may_v haply_o live_v many_o day_n and_o therefore_o go_v to_o christ_n which_o live_v for_o ever_o to_o pardon_v and_o to_o intercede_v for_o the_o comfort_n of_o the_o soul_n the_o wise_a man_n say_v proverb_n 28.13_o he_o that_o confess_v and_o forsake_v shall_v find_v mercy_n the_o original_n run_v thus_o confess_v and_o forsake_v find_v mercy_n the_o best_a of_o god_n people_n have_v their_o sin_n their_o carry_v with_o hatred_n against_o they_o and_o with_o resolution_n to_o get_v power_n and_o strength_n against_o they_o lay_v thy_o burden_n upon_o thy_o own_o soul_n that_o thou_o may_v be_v affect_v with_o it_o and_o be_v carry_v with_o a_o hatred_n to_o it_o and_o a_o resolution_n to_o get_v more_o strength_n and_o power_n against_o it_o famous_a be_v that_o example_n of_o david_n herein_o and_o this_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o his_o practice_n it_o be_v a_o conceit_n of_o the_o familist_n that_o if_o he_o have_v once_o get_v the_o assurance_n of_o god_n love_n he_o may_v have_v go_v away_o cheer_v but_o though_o the_o lord_n have_v pardon_v his_o sin_n yet_o he_o will_v not_o pardon_v sin_n in_o himself_o the_o lord_n show_v mercy_n to_o his_o soul_n but_o yet_o he_o will_v not_o show_v any_o pity_n to_o his_o sin_n but_o show_v all_o the_o hatred_n and_o revenge_n against_o it_o that_o possible_o he_o can_v as_o the_o apostle_n say_v concern_v the_o incestuous_a corinth_n you_o shall_v rather_o have_v sorrow_v that_o the_o sin_n may_v have_v be_v remove_v have_v you_o sorrow_v for_o your_o sin_n than_o you_o will_v have_v resist_v they_o and_o when_o he_o have_v show_v they_o their_o transgression_n and_o convince_v they_o of_o their_o sin_n see_v what_o fruit_n it_o wrought_v in_o they_o in_o 2_o cor._n 7.10_o for_o this_o thing_n that_o you_o have_v have_v godly_a sorrow_n what_o great_a care_n it_o have_v wrought_v in_o you_o yea_o what_o clear_v of_o yourselves_o yea_o what_o indignation_n yea_o what_o fear_n what_o zeal_n what_o revenge_n &_o c_o the_o familist_n scornful_o and_o sinful_o inquire_v and_o say_v why_o shall_v a_o believer_n go_v droop_v and_o mourn_v under_o his_o sin_n and_o corruption_n and_o have_v his_o eye_n full_a of_o tear_n and_o his_o heart_n full_a of_o grief_n see_v christ_n have_v pardon_v all_o as_o though_o a_o man_n do_v become_v a_o mediator_n to_o himself_o their_o demand_n be_v weak_a and_o their_o scorn_n be_v hellish_a and_o therefore_o i_o answer_v they_o thus_o if_o there_o be_v a_o daily_a need_n that_o every_o believer_n see_v a_o necessity_n of_o christ_n then_o there_o be_v a_o daily_a need_n to_o repent_v and_o sorrow_n for_o sin_n for_o if_o he_o must_v be_v more_o sanctify_a than_o he_o must_v be_v more_o mortify_v therefore_o he_o must_v daily_o see_v his_o sin_n or_o else_o he_o will_v never_o see_v a_o need_n of_o christ_n nor_o repent_v nor_o be_v more_o sanctify_v nor_o mortify_v again_o if_o every_o believer_n must_v express_v his_o love_n unto_o god_n daily_o than_o he_o must_v hate_v every_o thing_n that_o be_v evil_a i_o hope_v you_o will_v confess_v that_o every_o believer_n be_v bind_v to_o love_n jesus_n christ_n therefore_o he_o must_v hate_v sin_n and_o if_o he_o must_v hate_v sin_n that_o he_o may_v not_o commit_v it_o than_o he_o must_v mourn_v for_o it_o when_o it_o be_v commit_v if_o a_o man_n have_v any_o good_a nature_n it_o will_v work_v trouble_n in_o his_o heart_n to_o think_v that_o he_o shall_v sin_v against_o so_o good_a a_o god_n thus_o far_o a_o christian_n ought_v to_o go_v and_o must_v go_v in_o the_o charge_v himself_o with_o his_o sin_n quest._n 2_o now_o in_o the_o second_o place_n the_o question_n be_v this_o how_o far_o may_v not_o a_o believer_n charge_v himself_o with_o his_o sin_n this_o be_v that_o which_o have_v breed_v all_o these_o vain_a conceit_n in_o the_o spirit_n of_o those_o familist_n i_o say_v no_o more_o therefore_o but_o this_o they_o make_v christ_n not_o a_o king_n of_o saint_n but_o of_o sin_n there_o be_v great_a weight_n in_o it_o and_o admirable_a comfort_n if_o christian_n will_v but_o be_v persuade_v to_o make_v conscience_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n you_o that_o be_v weak_a not_o only_o be_v persuade_v to_o listen_v to_o the_o word_n but_o also_o make_v conscience_n of_o what_o be_v reveal_v out_o of_o the_o word_n now_o how_o far_o he_o may_v not_o charge_v himself_o with_o his_o sin_n may_v be_v conceive_v of_o in_o these_o conclusion_n first_o a_o believer_n shall_v not_o in_o his_o judgement_n conceive_v nor_o in_o his_o heart_n be_v persuade_v that_o any_o sin_n nor_o all_o his_o sin_n shall_v ever_o be_v able_a to_o fasten_v the_o guilt_n of_o sin_n upon_o he_o so_o as_o to_o cause_v revenge_v justice_n to_o proceed_v against_o he_o to_o his_o condemnation_n if_o he_o serious_o repent_v and_o amend_v and_o forsake_v his_o old_a way_n for_o he_o must_v not_o in_o his_o judgement_n conceive_v nor_o in_o his_o heart_n think_v that_o ever_o sin_v repent_v of_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o fasten_v guilt_n upon_o he_o so_o as_o to_o draw_v out_o the_o execution_n of_o justice_n against_o he_o it_o be_v one_o thing_n to_o be_v worthy_a of_o condemnation_n and_o it_o be_v sin_n have_v a_o power_n to_o make_v we_o guilty_a and_o to_o condemn_v we_o but_o it_o shall_v never_o fasten_v its_o work_n upon_o thy_o penitent_a soul_n remember_v that_o story_n of_o saint_n paul_n act_v 5.28_o he_o go_v and_o gather_v up_o stick_n with_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o company_n to_o make_v a_o fire_n for_o he_o take_v no_o great_a state_n upon_o himself_o be_v but_o a_o poor_a tentmaker_n and_o there_o come_v a_o viper_n out_o of_o the_o heat_n and_o leap_v on_o his_o hand_n by_o and_o by_o the_o heathen_n they_o proclaim_v he_o to_o be_v some_o notorious_a malefactor_n some_o murderer_n who_o though_o he_o have_v escape_v the_o sea_n yet_o vengeance_n have_v not_o suffer_v he_o to_o live_v but_o mark_v what_o the_o text_n say_v he_o shake_v off_o the_o viper_n into_o the_o fire_n and_o have_v no_o hurt_n this_o viper_n will_v have_v slay_v he_o be_v a_o deadly_a venomous_a creature_n but_o paul_n have_v a_o promise_n before_o that_o if_o he_o touch_v any_o poisonful_a thing_n it_o shall_v not_o hurt_v he_o this_o be_v the_o admirable_a happiness_n of_o the_o saint_n and_o servant_n of_o god_n oh_o that_o they_o be_v persuade_v of_o it_o all_o thy_o pride_n and_o envy_v and_o malice_n and_o covetousness_n all_o thy_o sin_n be_v of_o a_o poisonous_a viperous_a nature_n but_o if_o thou_o be_v a_o believer_n if_o a_o true_a penitent_a and_o convert_v thou_o have_v the_o promise_n that_o the_o sting_n of_o the_o serpent_n sin_n shall_v not_o hurt_v thou_o it_o be_v take_v off_o from_o thou_o and_o lay_v upon_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o therefore_o shake_v off_o the_o guilt_n of_o all_o thy_o abomination_n and_o go_v on_o cheerful_o and_o comfortable_o to_o christ_n and_o yet_o humble_o too_o and_o praise_v his_o name_n that_o he_o have_v be_v please_v to_o take_v that_o guilt_n of_o sin_n upon_o he_o which_o thou_o be_v never_o able_a to_o bear_v therefore_o though_o all_o thy_o pride_n thy_o rebellion_n and_o other_o sin_n shall_v come_v in_o against_o thou_o as_o the_o sin_n of_o manasses_n if_o thou_o repente_v and_o forsake_v
so_o second_o some_o again_o be_v malicious_o massacre_v with_o dishonourable_a cruelty_n they_o be_v pull_v the_o flesh_n from_o the_o bone_n and_o burn_v to_o ash_n etc._n etc._n none_o of_o all_o these_o do_v fall_v to_o our_o saviour_n these_o be_v personal_a thing_n they_o belong_v not_o to_o the_o nature_n of_o man_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v no_o way_n requisite_a that_o christ_n shall_v undergo_v those_o kind_n of_o death_n mark_v these_o two_o passage_n to_o open_v it_o a_o little_a act_v 2.27_o quote_v out_o of_o psalm_n 16.10_o thou_o will_v not_o leave_v my_o soul_n in_o hell_n neither_o will_v thou_o suffer_v thy_o holy_a one_o to_o see_v corruption_n now_o the_o saint_n of_o god_n do_v see_v corruption_n but_o this_o be_v a_o dishonourable_a infirmity_n for_o christ_n though_o he_o suffer_v for_o we_o yet_o he_o raise_v up_o himself_o from_o the_o vildness_n of_o the_o grave_n and_o see_v no_o corruption_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v no_o dishonour_n to_o he_o john_n 19.33_o 36._o when_o the_o soldier_n find_v our_o saviour_n dead_a they_o break_v not_o his_o leg_n that_o the_o scripture_n may_v be_v fulfil_v which_o say_v not_o a_o bone_n of_o he_o shall_v
