part_n she_o be_v to_o have_v in_o the_o spiritual_a work_n this_o premise_v i_o have_v observe_v for_o many_o year_n which_o we_o have_v spend_v both_o together_o live_v in_o the_o same_o house_n eat_v at_o the_o same_o table_n and_o sleep_v in_o the_o same_o chamber_n that_o he_o do_v never_o weep_v nor_o sigh_n nor_o lift_v up_o his_o hand_n nor_o shrink_v up_o his_o soldier_n nor_o speak_v any_o word_n aloud_o with_o god_n nor_o to_o himself_o by_o which_o one_o may_v come_v to_o know_v his_o inward_a affection_n a_o thing_n which_o in_o a_o man_n of_o so_o great_a affection_n and_o spirit_n will_v amayse_v any_o one_o that_o know_v what_o belong_v to_o prayer_n and_o contemplation_n i_o admire_v much_o here_o at_o say_v one_o day_n unto_o he_o you_o be_v thus_o always_o unite_v unto_o god_n and_o in_o the_o presence_n of_o such_o a_o lord_n do_v neither_o sigh_n nor_o speak_v but_o be_v altogether_o rapt_v in_o ecstasy_n with_o the_o divine_a goodness_n whereunto_o he_o answer_v that_o be_v not_o the_o reason_n father_n losa_n for_o true_o i_o do_v sigh_n and_o groan_v almost_o a_o thousand_o time_n in_o the_o day_n and_o be_o almost_o always_o talk_v with_o god_n though_o only_o mental_o i_o have_v use_v this_o manner_n now_o thirty_o year_n and_o i_o endeavour_v not_o to_o give_v nature_n any_o of_o these_o feeling_n which_o be_v to_o she_o no_o small_a mortification_n because_o i_o have_v find_v her_o false_a and_o treatcherous_a i_o become_v not_o so_o perfect_a in_o this_o lesson_n but_o that_o sometime_o go_v into_o the_o garden_n to_o prayer_n and_o contemplation_n i_o shall_v forget_v myself_o knock_v sometime_o my_o breast_n or_o sigh_v and_o gregory_n hear_v i_o will_v in_o a_o pleasant_a manner_n say_v unto_o i_o father_n losa_n give_v nature_n now_o and_o then_o a_o bit_n lest_o she_o die_v for_o hunger_n but_o he_o do_v not_o give_v such_o counsel_n to_o other_o man_n but_o rather_o advise_v they_o to_o help_v themselves_o with_o those_o outward_a sign_n for_o without_o they_o they_o do_v not_o any_o thing_n i_o be_o very_o persuade_v that_o he_o that_o shall_v read_v with_o a_o favourable_a eye_n the_o penance_n and_o mortification_n which_o be_v here_o relate_v will_v rest_v full_o satisfy_v that_o this_o heroical_a man_n go_v not_o into_o the_o wilderness_n to_o sleep_v and_o be_v idle_a but_o to_o do_v and_o suffer_v i_o be_o also_o certain_a that_o if_o he_o will_v have_v ●old_a other_o great_a mortification_n which_o he_o endure_v a_o course_n of_o such_o difficulty_n and_o virtue_n will_v have_v cause_v in_o we_o great_a admiration_n it_o will_v have_v also_o be_v much_o better_a if_o those_o thing_n have_v be_v better_o expound_v that_o they_o may_v be_v better_o know_v for_o i_o confess_v that_o i_o have_v leave_v out_o many_o thing_n because_o i_o can_v not_o explicate_v they_o and_o make_v they_o understand_v yet_o by_o those_o that_o we_o have_v set_v down_o one_o may_v perceive_v that_o his_o life_n be_v all_o mortification_n penance_n and_o cross_n now_o it_o remain_v for_o we_o to_o see_v the_o profit_n that_o gregory_n reap_v by_o this_o virtue_n first_o such_o strength_n that_o as_o he_o be_v wont_v ●o_o tell_v i_o he_o now_o overcome_v with_o god_n grace_n all_o temptation_n with_o a_o blast_n second_o such_o a_o dexterity_n in_o sight_v as_o that_o his_o enemy_n as_o puissant_a as_o they_o be_v can_v never_o make_v he_o give_v back_o one_o step_n but_o that_o he_o go_v always_o get_v ground_n and_o put_v such_o a_o firm_a confidence_n in_o god_n as_o that_o if_o he_o have_v a_o whole_a squadron_n of_o temptation_n against_o he_o he_o shall_v overcome_v and_o put_v they_o all_o to_o flight_n and_o so_o though_o vever_o so_o many_o bid_v he_o battle_n he_o never_o leave_v of_o the_o exercise_n that_o god_n have_v give_v he_o but_o even_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o they_o walk_v on_o in_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o his_o neighbour_n three_o such_o a_o peace_n and_o dominion_n of_o himself_o in_o his_o manner_n of_o combat_n as_o that_o never_o any_o can_v perceive_v whether_o he_o be_v inward_o in_o combat_n or_o at_o peace_n he_o be_v always_o the_o same_o without_o any_o change_n and_o in_o he_o be_v verify_v that_o sentence_n the_o wise_a man_n be_v stable_n like_o the_o sun_n but_o the_o fool_n have_v his_o change_n like_o the_o moon_n and_o he_o be_v use_v sometime_o to_o repeat_v it_o four_o by_o this_o his_o mortification_n he_o obtain_v of_o god_n as_o one_o already_o well_o exercise_v to_o be_v make_v the_o elder_a brother_n be_v now_o able_a to_o have_v a_o care_n of_o his_o brethren_n and_o neighbour_n to_o fight_v for_o they_o and_o that_o his_o combat_n which_o he_o fight_v for_o his_o neighbour_n sake_n shall_v be_v accepr_v of_o as_o if_o they_o have_v fight_v themselves_o as_o i_o perceive_v it_o often_o happen_v as_o shall_v be_v say_v in_o the_o 19_o chapter_n of_o the_o effect_n of_o his_o prayer_n all_o this_o his_o strength_n proceed_v from_o the_o lively_a faith_n which_o he_o have_v in_o god_n whereby_o he_o understand_v clear_o and_o distinct_o the_o greatness_n of_o the_o divine_a goodness_n and_o mercy_n which_o suffer_v not_o any_o to_o be_v tempt_v above_o his_o strength_n therefore_o he_o fight_v his_o combat_n with_o delight_n say_v with_o spiritual_a contentment_n that_o this_o be_v never_o want_v unto_o he_o and_o he_o be_v wont_a to_o say_v that_o whosoever_o have_v receive_v that_o delight_n from_o god_n be_v already_o as_o be_v say_v
