two_o lineament_n of_o he_o he_o call_v he_o the_o perfect_a man_n and_o the_o upright_a that_o be_v the_o picture_n of_o his_o life_n and_o then_o he_o give_v we_o the_o picture_n of_o his_o death_n too_o or_o of_o he_o die_v and_o so_o his_o end_n be_v peace_n mark_v the_o perfect_a man_n and_o behold_v the_o upright_a for_o the_o end_n of_o that_o man_n be_v peace_n the_o observation_n or_o lesson_n i_o shall_v commend_v to_o you_o be_v this_o it_o be_v our_o duty_n to_o observe_v and_o take_v special_a notice_n of_o the_o good_a and_o godly_a man_n both_o in_o his_o life_n and_o death_n such_o as_o be_v holy_a gracious_a and_o godly_a man_n it_o be_v good_a for_o we_o to_o observe_v they_o live_v and_o die_v to_o mark_v how_o perfect_o and_o upright_o they_o live_v and_o behold_v how_o peaceable_o and_o comfortable_o they_o die_v here_o be_v three_o thing_n to_o be_v speak_v too_o 1._o the_o life_n of_o the_o godly_a man_n 2._o his_o death_n and_o 3._o our_o duty_n with_o reference_n to_o he_o in_o both_o these_o first_o let_v we_o a_o little_a view_n the_o life_n of_o this_o godly_a man_n as_o it_o be_v give_v we_o here_o under_o these_o two_o character_n of_o the_o perfect_a man_n and_o the_o upright_a the_o perfect_a man_n who_o be_v he_o or_o what_o be_v it_o to_o be_v perfect_a that_o be_v perfect_a in_o a_o strict_a sense_n to_o which_o nothing_o needs_o be_v add_v and_o so_o he_o only_o be_v a_o perfect_a man_n that_o have_v nothing_o of_o imperfection_n remain_v in_o he_o but_o then_o where_o shall_v we_o find_v this_o perfect_a man_n for_o if_o noah_n and_o abraham_n have_v their_o imperfection_n if_o elias_n be_v say_v to_o be_v a_o man_n of_o like_a passion_n with_o we_o if_o job_n and_o david_n be_v not_o without_o their_o defect_n where_o then_o shall_v we_o find_v this_o perfect_a man_n we_o must_v therefore_o distinguish_v perfection_n be_v either_o absolute_a or_o comparative_a absolute_a and_o so_o they_o only_o be_v perfect_a who_o be_v free_a from_o all_o sin_n and_o imperfection_n and_o thus_o the_o angel_n in_o heaven_n and_o the_o spirit_n of_o just_a man_n above_o be_v perfect_a and_o second_o there_o be_v a_o comparative_a perfection_n and_o so_o the_o godly_a man_n may_v be_v say_v to_o be_v a_o perfect_a man_n if_o compare_v with_o the_o wicked_a who_o have_v no_o grace_n at_o all_o or_o compare_v with_o the_o hypocrite_n who_o have_v grace_n only_o in_o appearance_n or_o compare_v with_o other_o saint_n who_o have_v less_o grace_n than_o he_o or_o second_o we_o may_v thus_o distinguish_v it_o perfection_n be_v either_o legal_a such_o as_o the_o law_n require_v or_o evangelical_n such_o as_o the_o gospel_n accept_v of_o first_o legal_a perfection_n that_o lie_v in_o a_o sinless_a obedience_n and_o a_o exact_a conformity_n to_o the_o law_n of_o god_n and_o such_o a_o perfect_a man_n be_v not_o to_o be_v find_v among_o man_n in_o this_o world_n for_o the_o scripture_n conclude_v all_o man_n under_o sin_n job_n dare_v not_o avouch_v himself_o to_o be_v thus_o perfect_a job_n 9.20_o if_o i_o say_v i_o be_o perfect_a it_o shall_v also_o prove_v i_o perverse_a and_o st._n john_n that_o these_o two_o way_n first_o perfect_a as_o to_o his_o justification_n before_o god_n through_o jesus_n christ_n a_o godly_a man_n he_o be_v perfect_o justify_v that_o be_v his_o sin_n be_v full_o pardon_v they_o be_v all_o blot_v out_o and_o remit_v as_o if_o they_o have_v never_o be_v commit_v he_o that_o true_o repent_v and_o believe_v in_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n he_o have_v with_o those_o that_o be_v bear_v of_o god_n they_o have_v all_o the_o line_n of_o god_n image_n draw_v upon_o their_o soul_n they_o have_v all_o the_o limb_n of_o the_o new_a creature_n repentance_n
