private_a charitable_o judge_v they_o speak_v not_o so_o much_o against_o they_o out_o of_o ill_a will_n as_o ignorance_n of_o and_o unacquaintance_n with_o their_o blameless_a principle_n though_o this_o be_v bad_a enough_o for_o people_n to_o speak_v evil_a of_o thing_n they_o know_v not_o and_o for_o such_o as_o be_v divide_v among_o themselves_o to_o join_v together_o against_o other_o as_o some_o have_v confess_v to_o i_o that_o though_o they_o differ_v in_o many_o particular_n yet_o they_o all_o agree_v in_o this_o to_o set_v their_o seal_n against_o the_o quaker_n but_o who_o they_o be_v i_o have_v and_o shall_v at_o present_a conceal_v desire_v not_o to_o expose_v they_o but_o to_o inform_v they_o that_o so_o set_v before_o they_o their_o error_n and_o mistake_v some_o of_o christ_n within_o we_o hereby_o a_o sure_a hope_n of_o eternal_a glory_n be_v give_v to_o we_o however_o we_o do_v not_o conclude_v christ_n in_o ourselves_o only_o but_o we_o say_v a_o measure_n of_o his_o light_n in_o order_n to_o show_v the_o way_n of_o life_n every_o man_n be_v or_o have_v be_v enlighten_v with_o nor_o yet_o do_v we_o include_v he_o in_o the_o fleshly_a temple_n of_o man_n and_o woman_n heart_n so_o as_o to_o exclude_v he_o from_o be_v any_o where_o else_o but_o as_o we_o know_v his_o presence_n fill_v heaven_n and_o earth_n so_o we_o believe_v that_o notwithstanding_o his_o appearance_n in_o our_o heart_n he_o be_v continual_o at_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o god_n at_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o the_o majesty_n on_o high_a ever_o live_v to_o make_v intercession_n for_o we_o and_o by_o his_o spirit_n we_o feel_v the_o signification_n thereof_o within_o we_o for_o this_o grace_n of_o god_n which_o be_v the_o light_n of_o jesus_n it_o be_v a_o measure_n of_o the_o divine_a spirit_n and_o a_o manifestation_n of_o it_o be_v give_v to_o every_o man_n to_o profit_v withal_o see_v 1_o cor._n 12.7_o yea_o this_o universal_a principle_n which_o i_o be_o describe_v it_o be_v a_o measure_n of_o the_o quicken_a spirit_n even_o of_o that_o spirit_n which_o raise_v up_o jesus_n from_o the_o dead_a by_o the_o indwel_n of_o which_o in_o we_o we_o come_v to_o be_v renew_v in_o the_o spirit_n of_o our_o mind_n and_o to_o have_v our_o mortal_a body_n quicken_v so_o as_o to_o capacitate_v we_o to_o serve_v the_o lord_n with_o our_o spirit_n and_o with_o our_o body_n which_o be_v he_o now_o if_o any_o shall_v think_v i_o have_v raise_v this_o principle_n too_o high_a
let_v they_o read_v rom._n 8._o 11._o and_o they_o will_v find_v the_o apostle_n speak_v express_o if_o the_o spirit_n of_o he_o that_o raise_v up_o jesus_n from_o the_o dead_a dwell_v in_o you_o he_o that_o raise_v up_o christ_n from_o the_o dead_a shall_v also_o quicken_v your_o mortal_a body_n by_o his_o spirit_n that_o dwell_v in_o you_o therefore_o as_o i_o say_v before_o it_o be_v no_o so_o as_o to_o cause_v we_o to_o put_v on_o the_o new_a man_n christ_n jesus_n which_o after_o god_n be_v create_v in_o righteousness_n and_o true_a holiness_n and_o so_o old_a thing_n be_v make_v to_o pass_v away_o behold_v all_o thing_n be_v become_v new_a lo_o here_o be_v a_o new_a creature_n as_o there_o be_v a_o put_v off_o the_o old_a man_n with_o his_o deed_n there_o be_v a_o pass_v away_o of_o the_o first_o heaven_n and_o the_o first_o earth_n and_o then_o behold_v new_a heaven_n and_o a_o new_a earth_n wherein_o dwell_v righteousness_n as_o there_o be_v a_o come_n to_o this_o law_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o life_n in_o christ_n jesus_n which_o law_n be_v inward_a write_v in_o the_o heart_n and_o engrave_v on_o the_o inward_a part_n there_o be_v a_o set_v free_a from_o the_o only_o in_o degree_n of_o discovery_n for_o this_o spirit_n be_v a_o spirit_n of_o wisdom_n and_o revelation_n in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o jesus_n christ_n which_o open_v and_o enlighten_v the_o eye_n i_o from_o the_o least_o to_o the_o great_a jer._n 31._o 33_o 34._o this_o be_v the_o tennure_n of_o the_o new_a covenant_n that_o all_o the_o child_n of_o the_o lord_n shall_v be_v teach_v of_o the_o lord_n and_o in_o righteousness_n shall_v they_o be_v establish_v isa._n 54._o 13_o 14._o which_o imply_v that_o god_n will_v teach_v they_o so_o effectual_o by_o his_o free_a spirit_n that_o they_o shall_v not_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o any_o other_o prophet_n but_o here_o i_o must_v obviate_v a_o objection_n before_o i_o can_v proceed_v possible_o some_o may_v ask_v i_o why_o then_o do_v those_o people_n that_o thou_o be_v now_o go_v among_o keep_v up_o their_o public_a meeting_n to_o preach_v and_o to_o teach_v people_n the_o way_n of_o salvation_n what_o need_n be_v there_o of_o their_o teach_v if_o every_o one_o have_v a_o teacher_n in_o they_o able_a to_o instruct_v they_o in_o the_o way_n to_o the_o kingdom_n to_o who_o i_o answer_v first_o though_o i_o do_v say_v as_o much_o as_o that_o every_o one_o have_v a_o divine_a teacher_n in_o they_o yet_o i_o do_v not_o say_v that_o every_o one_o know_v this_o teacher_n in_o they_o for_o this_o have_v be_v the_o misery_n of_o many_o age_n of_o the_o world_n people_n have_v go_v out_o after_o the_o many_o lo_o here_o be_v and_o lo_n there_o be_v to_o find_v christ_n without_o they_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n neglect_v his_o appearance_n within_o they_o even_o as_o be_v foretell_v by_o christ_n himself_o when_o he_o be_v on_o earth_n in_o the_o day_n of_o his_o flesh_n in_o the_o last_o day_n say_v he_o they_o shall_v say_v lo_o here_o be_v christ_n and_o lo_o he_o be_v there_o but_o go_v you_o not_o out_o after_o
inseparable_a from_o the_o scripture_n as_o some_o suppose_v yet_o will_v i_o not_o be_v think_v to_o undervalue_v the_o scripture_n any_o whit_n for_o i_o have_v very_o venerable_a thought_n of_o call_v it_o the_o light_n of_o jesus_n the_o new_a covenant_n a_o light_n to_o lighten_v the_o gentile_n a_o rod_n a_o staff_n a_o shepherd_n crook_n the_o word_n nigh_o in_o the_o heart_n and_o in_o the_o mouth_n the_o sure_a word_n of_o prophecy_n the_o manifestation_n of_o the_o spirit_n a_o shield_n a_o buckler_n a_o strong_a tower_n the_o armour_n of_o righteousness_n all_o which_o be_v one_o in_o nature_n though_o diverse_o express_v according_a to_o its_o distinct_a operation_n in_o the_o soul_n as_o the_o creature_n stand_v in_o need_n sometime_o to_o lighten_v its_o darkness_n at_o other_o time_n to_o lead_v it_o in_o the_o way_n of_o holiness_n one_o while_o it_o instruct_v another_o while_o it_o correct_v sometime_o it_o counsel_n other_o time_n it_o consolate_v and_o as_o its_o counsel_n be_v heed_v and_o the_o soul_n guide_v by_o it_o it_o preserve_v and_o defend_v in_o all_o exigency_n and_o straits_n but_o i_o pass_v over_o its_o special_a use_n intend_v to_o show_v that_o in_o another_o place_n only_o here_o may_v be_v see_v the_o great_a condescension_n and_o matchless_a love_n of_o he_o who_o give_v unto_o all_o life_n and_o breath_n and_o be_v in_o that_o salvation_n say_v it_o be_v a_o satanical_a suggestion_n and_o instead_o of_o own_v it_o to_o be_v of_o the_o divine_a nature_n of_o god_n or_o christ_n they_o call_v it_o the_o dim_a light_n of_o create_a nature_n put_v bitter_a for_o sweet_a and_o sweet_a for_o bitter_a count_a darkness_n light_n and_o light_a darkness_n such_o may_v continue_v in_o their_o bondage_n and_o vassalage_n under_o be_v by_o his_o light_n with_o which_o we_o be_v enlighten_v it_o proceed_v from_o he_o he_o be_v the_o ocean_n wherein_o the_o fullness_n thereof_o be_v contain_v it_o be_v from_o he_o through_o his_o son_n christ_n jesus_n that_o we_o come_v to_o be_v enlight_v by_o the_o same_o so_o it_o be_v in_o his_o light_n that_o we_o see_v light_n even_o as_o the_o natural_a sun_n cause_v its_o beam_n less_o of_o the_o stream_n thereof_o to_o descend_v into_o all_o immortal_a soul_n upon_o it_o thus_o have_v show_v the_o nature_n and_o quality_n original_a and_o fountain_n of_o this_o bless_a principle_n i_o come_v further_o to_o show_v its_o use_n and_o extent_n that_o so_o i_o may_v not_o only_o tell_v my_o reader_n what_o it_o be_v and_o whence_o it_o come_v but_o according_a to_o my_o promise_n write_v something_o of_o what_o it_o do_v and_o whereto_o it_o lead_v §_o iv._o in_o the_o first_o place_n it_o daily_o reprove_v for_o sin_n even_o in_o all_o man_n and_o excite_v to_o holiness_n during_o the_o time_n of_o their_o visitation_n though_o it_o be_v possible_a for_o man_n to_o sin_n themselves_o into_o such_o a_o state_n by_o drink_v in_o iniquity_n as_o the_o ox_n drink_v water_n when_o through_o custom_n in_o sin_v their_o conscience_n become_v sear_v as_o with_o a_o hot-iron_n that_o this_o principle_n of_o god_n may_v cease_v strive_v with_o they_o and_o so_o these_o may_v not_o know_v when_o they_o do_v evil_a yet_o there_o be_v a_o time_n in_o which_o this_o principle_n of_o god_n do_v stand_v as_o a_o faithful_a witness_n against_o all_o unrighteousness_n and_o ungodliness_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n and_o woman_n and_o lead_v draw_v move_v and_o incline_v their_o mind_n to_o righteousness_n seek_v to_o leaven_v they_o as_o they_o yield_v thereunto_o into_o the_o nature_n of_o itself_o whereby_o a_o inward_a thorough_a and_o real_a redemption_n may_v be_v wrought_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o all_o man_n of_o what_o kindred_n nation_n or_o people_n soever_o notwithstanding_o any_o outward_a benefit_n or_o privilege_n they_o may_v providential_o be_v deprive_v of_o yet_o be_v the_o lord_n so_o gracious_a as_o to_o dispense_v such_o a_o measure_n of_o his_o grace_n power_n and_o spirit_n unto_o all_o the_o child_n of_o man_n to_o convince_v they_o of_o sin_n to_o reprove_v they_o for_o it_o and_o to_o lead_v
