commend_v that_o drink_n which_o quench_v thirst_n and_o those_o meat_n which_o in_o least_o quantity_n nourish_v the_o body_n and_o staunch_a hunger_n these_o thing_n be_v of_o that_o kind_n that_o the_o more_o you_o use_v of_o they_o against_o thirst_n and_o hunger_n the_o less_o you_o quench_v the_o one_o or_o staunch_v the_o other_o covetousness_n be_v a_o dropsy_n a_o imaginary_a hunger_n a_o insatiable_a appetite_n or_o desire_n of_o have_v much_o so_o that_o we_o may_v rather_o expect_v to_o see_v a_o covetous_a man_n burst_v or_o break_v in_o sunder_o in_o the_o middle_n than_o to_o see_v he_o satisfy_v with_o riches_n but_o the_o worst_a of_o it_o be_v this_o thirst_n this_o insatiable_a appetite_n have_v take_v such_o deep_a root_n in_o they_o that_o though_o they_o have_v never_o so_o much_o plenty_n yet_o still_o they_o want_v that_o which_o shall_v satisfy_v their_o longing_n in_o the_o middle_n of_o river_n they_o die_v with_o thirst_n in_o storehouse_n well_o fraught_v with_o provision_n they_o perish_v with_o hunger_n though_o they_o have_v abundance_n they_o dare_v not_o use_v it_o they_o seem_v to_o enjoy_v they_o though_o they_o reap_v no_o benefit_n by_o they_o they_o have_v indeed_o heap_v they_o up_o but_o neither_o for_o their_o own_o nor_o the_o use_n of_o other_o and_o therefore_o can_v be_v think_v to_o have_v any_o thing_n of_o that_o which_o they_o possess_v and_o yet_o they_o be_v grievous_o torment_v with_o the_o want_n of_o what_o they_o possess_v not_o that_o proverbial_a say_n therefore_o have_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o truth_n in_o it_o viz._n a_o covetous_a man_n want_v what_o he_o have_v as_o well_o as_o what_o he_o have_v not_o wherefore_o let_v we_o return_v to_o the_o point_n in_o hand_n which_o be_v to_o demonstrate_v that_o the_o acquisition_n of_o those_o thing_n which_o by_o a_o false_a name_n be_v call_v good_n be_v nothing_o else_o but_o the_o pain_n and_o trouble_v of_o the_o body_n and_o the_o possession_n of_o they_o for_o the_o most_o part_n be_v the_o burden_n of_o the_o soul_n which_o be_v much_o more_o heavy_a than_o that_o of_o the_o body_n because_o the_o mind_n be_v endue_v with_o a_o much_o quick_a and_o pure_a sense_n than_o the_o body_n be_v then_o be_v they_o overwhelm_v with_o misery_n when_o they_o be_v spoil_v of_o their_o good_n when_o either_o by_o shipwreek_a or_o by_o plunder_n or_o by_o fire_n or_o by_o any_o such_o like_a calamity_n they_o be_v violent_o take_v out_o of_o their_o hand_n and_o consume_v hence_o be_v it_o that_o with_o howl_v and_o cry_v they_o bewail_v their_o lose_a good_n hence_o be_v it_o that_o they_o so_o macerate_v themselves_o with_o care_n and_o grief_n of_o heart_n for_o they_o and_o will_v not_o be_v comfort_v no_o reason_n can_v prevail_v with_o they_o to_o believe_v that_o all_o those_o thing_n which_o mortal_a man_n possess_v in_o this_o world_n be_v subject_a to_o those_o or_o the_o like_a misfortune_n they_o and_o their_o riches_n be_v become_v so_o much_o one_o that_o when_o they_o be_v bereave_v of_o their_o wealth_n they_o think_v themselves_o to_o be_v slead_v alive_a and_o their_o skin_n pull_v over_o their_o ear_n by_o which_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o these_o man_n who_o have_v place_v all_o their_o confidence_n in_o these_o trifle_n and_o fix_v all_o their_o thought_n upon_o earth_n when_o once_o they_o come_v to_o be_v despoil_v of_o they_o their_o heart_n sink_v within_o they_o and_o they_o fall_v into_o the_o snare_n of_o despair_n out_o of_o which_o it_o seldom_o happen_v that_o any_o of_o they_o ever_o escape_v and_o return_n to_o a_o better_a and_o founder_v mind_n but_o that_o which_o surpass_v all_o madness_n be_v that_o they_o think_v themselves_o to_o have_v lose_v all_o that_o which_o they_o do_v not_o get_v by_o usury_n they_o account_v all_o that_o as_o their_o loss_n and_o to_o diminish_v their_o store_n which_o by_o some_o unusual_a and_o unlawful_a way_n of_o gain_n be_v not_o add_v thereunto_o and_o this_o drive_v many_o of_o they_o to_o that_o height_n of_o madness_n that_o they_o conspire_v their_o own_o death_n in_o a_o word_n the_o reward_n which_o covetousness_n bestow_v upon_o its_o slave_n and_o client_n be_v much_o like_o that_o which_o the_o devil_n bestow_v upon_o he_o who_o after_o he_o have_v for_o some_o time_n indulge_v and_o gratify_v they_o at_o last_o leave_v they_o either_o in_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o executioner_n or_o make_v they_o become_v their_o own_o executioner_n i_o pass_v by_o those_o many_o prodigious_a and_o monstrous_a offence_n which_o covetous_a man_n in_o heap_v up_o riches_n be_v wont_a to_o enslave_v themselves_o unto_o by_o the_o conscience_n of_o which_o their_o mind_n as_o it_o be_v with_o so_o many_o fury_n be_v perpetual_o vex_v and_o disturb_v at_o length_n it_o happen_v that_o by_o this_o violent_a exercise_n in_o which_o the_o much_o great_a part_n of_o mankind_n do_v busy_a
