but_o they_o will_v not_o try_v we_o do_v beseech_v they_o to_o make_v sure_a work_n and_o not_o leave_v such_o a_o matter_n as_o everlasting_a joy_n or_o torment_n to_o a_o bold_a and_o mad_a adventure_n but_o we_o can_v not_o prevail_v we_o entreat_v they_o to_o lay_v all_o other_o business_n aside_o a_o little_a while_n in_o the_o world_n and_o to_o inquire_v by_o the_o direction_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n what_o will_v become_v of_o they_o in_o the_o world_n to_o come_v and_o to_o judge_v themselves_o before_o god_n come_v to_o judge_v they_o see_v they_o have_v the_o law_n and_o the_o rule_n of_o judgement_n before_o they_o but_o their_o mind_n be_v blind_v and_o their_o heart_n be_v harden_v and_o the_o profit_n and_o pleasure_n and_o honour_n of_o this_o world_n do_v eâ—ther_o stop_v their_o ear_n or_o quick_o steal_v away_o their_o heart_n so_o that_o we_o can_v never_o get_v they_o to_o a_o sober_a consideration_n nor_o ever_o win_v their_o heart_n to_o god_n than_o need_v for_o their_o salvation_n they_o must_v be_v force_v to_o testify_v lord_n we_o will_v fain_o have_v draw_v they_o with_o we_o to_o hear_v the_o word_n and_o to_o read_v it_o and_o to_o redeemer_n have_v the_o work_n which_o he_o be_v do_v when_o he_o shall_v have_v be_v pray_v or_o read_v or_o catechise_v his_o family_n or_o think_v sober_o of_o his_o latter_a end_n a_o thousand_o so_o many_o evidence_n against_o he_o so_o will_v the_o abuse_n of_o his_o own_o reason_n the_o entice_n of_o other_o to_o the_o same_o sin_n and_o harden_v they_o by_o his_o example_n one_o covetous_a unmerciful_a landlord_n do_v keep_v a_o hundred_o or_o many_o hundred_o person_n or_o family_n in_o so_o great_a necessity_n and_o care_n and_o labour_n that_o they_o be_v tempt_v by_o it_o to_o overpass_v the_o service_n of_o god_n as_o have_v scarce_o time_n for_o it_o or_o any_o room_n for_o it_o in_o their_o trouble_a thought_n all_o these_o miserable_a family_n and_o person_n and_o all_o the_o soul_n that_o be_v undo_v by_o this_o temptation_n will_v be_v so_o many_o evidence_n against_o such_o oppressor_n yea_o the_o poor_a who_o they_o have_v neglect_v to_o relieve_v when_o they_o may_v the_o sick_a who_o they_o have_v neglect_v to_o visit_v when_o they_o may_v will_v all_o witness_n then_o against_o the_o unmerciful_a matth._n 25._o the_o many_o ignorant_a worldly_a careless_a sinner_n that_o have_v perish_v under_o a_o idle_a unfaithful_a minister_n will_v be_v so_o many_o witness_n against_o he_o to_o his_o condemnation_n they_o may_v then_o cry_v out_o i_o have_v a_o soul_n to_o save_v or_o lose_v and_o a_o everlasting_a life_n to_o provide_v and_o prepare_v for_o and_o therefore_o i_o can_v not_o come_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o they_o answ._n the_o great_a be_v their_o sin_n who_o thus_o neglect_v you_o but_o this_o be_v no_o sufficient_a excuse_n for_o you_o heaven_n be_v not_o prepare_v for_o the_o learned_a only_o nor_o will_v christ_n plain_o write_v that_o the_o unlearned_a may_v understand_v it_o do_v he_o not_o put_v it_o into_o the_o most_o familiar_a stile_n though_o he_o know_v it_o will_v be_v offensive_a to_o the_o proud_a scholar_n of_o the_o world_n of_o purpose_n that_o he_o may_v fit_v it_o to_o the_o capacity_n of_o the_o ignorant_a and_o if_o you_o can_v not_o read_v yet_o tell_v i_o can_v not_o you_o have_v learned_a to_o read_v at_o 20_o or_o 30_o year_n of_o age_n if_o you_o have_v be_v but_o willing_a to_o bestow_v now_o and_o then_o a_o hour_n to_o that_o end_n or_o at_o least_o do_v you_o not_o live_v near_o some_o that_o can_v read_v and_o can_v you_o not_o have_v procure_v they_o to_o read_v to_o you_o or_o to_o help_v you_o and_o do_v you_o not_o hear_v these_o thing_n read_v to_o you_o in_o the_o congregation_n by_o the_o minister_n or_o may_v have_v do_v if_o you_o will_v and_o if_o your_o parent_n do_v neglect_v you_o in_o your_o youth_n yet_o when_o you_o come_v to_o a_o full_a use_n of_o reason_n and_o hear_v of_o the_o matter_n of_o salvation_n from_o god_n word_n do_v it_o not_o concern_v you_o to_o have_v look_v to_o yourselves_o and_o to_o have_v redeem_v that_o time_n which_o you_o lose_v in_o
3._o that_o it_o be_v a_o matter_n of_o unquestionable_a certainty_n i_o have_v partly_o show_v you_o already_o and_o more_o will_v do_v if_o i_o be_v preach_v to_o know_a infidel_n if_o the_o careless_a world_n have_v any_o just_a reason_n to_o think_v it_o be_v uncertain_a their_o carelessness_n be_v more_o excusable_a i_o think_v a_o man_n shall_v be_v affect_v with_o that_o which_o he_o be_v certain_a shall_v come_v to_o pass_v in_o a_o manner_n as_o if_o it_o be_v now_o in_o do_v 1_o thes._n 5.2_o you_o perfect_o know_v that_o the_o day_n of_o the_o lord_n so_o come_v etc._n etc._n but_o it_o will_v be_v so_o with_o the_o great_a part_n of_o we_o and_o what_o be_v a_o year_n or_o two_o or_o a_o 100_o how_o speedy_o be_v it_o come_v how_o many_o a_o soul_n that_o be_v now_o in_o heaven_n or_o hell_n within_o a_o 1000_o year_n dwell_v in_o the_o place_n that_o you_o now_o dwell_v in_o and_o sit_v in_o the_o seat_n you_o now_o sit_v in_o and_o now_o their_o time_n be_v past_a what_o be_v it_o alas_o how_o quick_o will_v it_o be_v so_o with_o we_o you_o know_v not_o when_o you_o go_v to_o bed_n but_o you_o may_v be_v judge_v by_o the_o next_o morning_n or_o when_o you_o qu._n but_o who_o be_v they_o that_o be_v ready_a how_o shall_v i_o know_v whether_o i_o be_v ready_a or_o not_o answ._n there_o be_v a_o twofold_a readiness_n 1._o when_o you_o be_v in_o a_o safe_a case_n 2._o when_o you_o be_v in_o a_o comfortable_a case_n in_o regard_n of_o that_o day_n the_o latter_a be_v very_o desirable_a but_o the_o first_o be_v of_o absolute_a necessity_n this_o therefore_o be_v it_o that_o you_o must_v principal_o inquire_v after_o in_o general_n all_o those_o and_o only_o those_o be_v ready_a for_o judgement_n who_o shall_v be_v justify_v and_o save_v and_o
