draw_v their_o weapon_n on_o their_o friend_n and_o many_o time_n murder_v their_o own_o companion_n which_o be_v a_o evident_a demonstration_n of_o the_o cruel_a affection_n that_o be_v in_o satan_n member_n even_o towards_o the_o body_n of_o man_n 2_o 2_o again_o this_o may_v be_v another_o reason_n of_o the_o point_n that_o satan_n carry_v a_o deadly_a malice_n against_o all_o the_o creature_n to_o get_v help_n against_o it_o likewise_o in_o the_o prophecy_n of_o isaiah_n 63._o isaiah_n 63._o we_o may_v observe_v the_o like_a effect_n of_o grace_n in_o the_o people_n of_o god_n viz_o that_o full_a of_o courage_n and_o fortitude_n so_o that_o they_o will_v never_o endure_v to_o have_v sin_n reign_v in_o their_o mortal_a body_n but_o will_v maintain_v perpetual_a war_n against_o the_o same_o for_o if_o they_o shall_v suffer_v the_o fire_n of_o grace_n to_o be_v quench_v by_o the_o impure_a stream_n of_o sin_n and_o iniquity_n god_n spirit_n shall_v be_v put_v to_o the_o worst_a which_o be_v no_o less_o than_o blasphemy_n for_o any_o one_o to_o imagine_v that_o it_o shall_v ever_o come_v to_o pass_v for_o it_o do_v work_v faith_n in_o man_n heart_n which_o be_v indefatigable_a and_o invincible_a which_o in_o time_n of_o temptation_n will_v sue_v unto_o heaven_n and_o search_v the_o word_n and_o use_v all_o lawful_a mean_n &_o help_n for_o the_o procure_n of_o strength_n against_o sin_n so_o that_o though_o there_o be_v many_o enemy_n against_o it_o yet_o will_v it_o not_o be_v set_v down_o by_o any_o of_o they_o &_o though_o it_o do_v now_o and_o then_o receive_v a_o wound_n yet_o will_v it_o recover_v again_o and_o carry_v away_o the_o victory_n in_o the_o end_n 1._o use_v 1._o hereby_o then_o to_o draw_v to_o some_o use_n of_o this_o doctrine_n we_o may_v make_v some_o trial_n of_o the_o strength_n or_o weakness_n of_o our_o faith_n according_a as_o we_o be_v more_o or_o less_o able_a to_o see_v the_o sinfulness_n of_o our_o nature_n and_o to_o strive_v against_o it_o so_o be_v we_o to_o judge_v of_o the_o measure_n of_o god_n grace_n in_o we_o to_o be_v more_o or_o less_o and_o if_o we_o do_v not_o particular_o discern_v of_o the_o corruption_n of_o the_o flesh_n or_o do_v not_o loathe_v they_o and_o labour_n to_o be_v cure_v of_o they_o but_o rather_o excuse_v and_o extenuate_v they_o and_o hide_v and_o cherish_v they_o this_o be_v a_o infallible_a sign_n that_o we_o have_v in_o we_o no_o save_v grace_n at_o all_o let_v all_o such_o therefore_o as_o will_v have_v the_o testimony_n of_o god_n child_n use_v their_o best_a endeavour_n to_o have_v their_o eye_n open_v that_o they_o may_v perceive_v the_o several_a evil_n that_o lurk_v within_o their_o heart_n and_o let_v they_o withal_o get_v such_o a_o indignation_n against_o they_o that_o they_o may_v as_o this_o man_n do_v come_v unto_o christ_n jesus_n to_o be_v cure_v of_o they_o which_o if_o they_o can_v do_v their_o very_a approach_v unto_o he_o by_o prayer_n and_o in_o the_o use_n of_o this_o ordinance_n will_v cause_v they_o every_o day_n to_o become_v more_o sharp-sighted_a than_o other_o so_o that_o they_o shall_v with_o the_o holy_a prophet_n isaiah_n chap._n 6._o cry_v out_o against_o their_o pollution_n and_o so_o get_v pardon_n of_o they_o and_o power_n over_o they_o 2_o 2_o second_o this_o make_v for_o the_o confutation_n of_o such_o as_o be_v urge_v to_o reform_v themselves_o be_v ready_a to_o say_v that_o all_o thing_n be_v so_o well_o with_o they_o that_o they_o need_v no_o amendment_n they_o know_v not_o where_o to_o begin_v their_o reformation_n because_o they_o see_v nothing_o amiss_o these_o kind_n of_o man_n be_v most_o busy_a against_o other_o that_o complain_v of_o their_o own_o want_n and_o seek_v to_o have_v they_o supply_v from_o heaven_n and_o such_o they_o account_v and_o call_v puritan_n who_o indeed_o do_v most_o see_v and_o acknowledge_v and_o bewail_v their_o own_o purity_n but_o in_o truth_n they_o themselves_o do_v sarre_o better_o deserve_v that_o name_n for_o that_o they_o imagine_v they_o have_v attain_v such_o a_o measure_n of_o purity_n as_o that_o nothing_o can_v be_v add_v
