experience_n of_o the_o exceed_a mighty_a power_n of_o god_n be_v that_o which_o be_v a_o great_a spiritual_a blessing_n which_o we_o be_v bless_v with_o in_o christ_n jesus_n and_o for_o the_o illustration_n of_o this_o do_v but_o compare_v this_o power_n if_o thou_o need_v as_o much_o exceed_a power_n to_o raise_v up_o thy_o soul_n from_o any_o spiritual_a death_n or_o deadness_n as_o christ_n but_o all_o thing_n be_v not_o yet_o put_v under_o our_o foot_n but_o that_o you_o may_v see_v the_o reason_n of_o this_o great_a privilege_n how_o grace_n have_v lay_v it_o in_o christ_n do_v but_o observe_v those_o passage_n that_o you_o have_v in_o v._o 21_o 22_o 23._o of_o this_o chapter_n at_o the_o 20_o verse_n and_o have_v set_v he_o at_o his_o own_o right_a hand_n in_o heavenly_a place_n far_o above_o all_o principality_n and_o might_n and_o dominion_n and_o every_o name_n that_o be_v name_v both_o in_o this_o world_n and_o also_o in_o that_o which_o be_v to_o come_v and_o as_o if_o these_o two_o word_n can_v not_o comprehend_v all_o the_o apostle_n add_v in_o general_a and_o have_v put_v all_o thing_n under_o his_o foot_n all_o thing_n that_o be_v enemy_n to_o our_o spiritual_a interest_n all_o thing_n that_o be_v enemy_n unto_o our_o purification_n unto_o our_o sanctification_n unto_o our_o enlighten_v and_o strengthen_v and_o unto_o any_o or_o all_o under_o all_o the_o variety_n of_o his_o condition_n here_o below_o christian_n you_o understand_v the_o design_n of_o the_o devil_n and_o of_o the_o world_n upon_o your_o temporal_n how_o far_o it_o will_v please_v the_o majesty_n of_o heaven_n to_o give_v they_o leave_v to_o prosper_v in_o their_o design_n i_o can_v determine_v but_o that_o you_o and_o i_o may_v have_v something_o to_o bear_v have_v bless_v we_o with_o all_o spiritual_a blessing_n in_o heavenly_a place_n in_o christ_n i_o shall_v only_o take_v notice_n of_o these_o 3_o thing_n that_o be_v principal_o comprise_v in_o the_o word_n 1._o and_o the_o first_o be_v the_o true_a gospel_n relative_n and_o personal_a state_n of_o a_o christian_a he_o be_v a_o bless_a man_n if_o there_o be_v any_o personal_o bless_v it_o be_v he_o if_o there_o be_v any_o that_o have_v any_o reserve_v of_o personal_a blessing_n it_o be_v he_o if_o there_o be_v any_o that_o have_v any_o relative_n blessing_n it_o be_v he_o all_o blessing_n all_o sort_n of_o blessing_n he_o be_v bless_v with_o 2._o the_o second_o thing_n that_o i_o will_v observe_v out_o of_o the_o word_n be_v this_o the_o security_n and_o certainty_n of_o these_o blessing_n it_o be_v a_o work_n not_o to_o be_v do_v but_o a_o work_n that_o be_v already_o do_v blessing_n not_o lodge_v in_o deceitful_a heart_n but_o in_o faithful_a hand_n blessing_n not_o betrust_v with_o one_o that_o may_v miscarry_v but_o with_o one_o who_o god_n know_v can_v miscarry_v and_o therefore_o you_o may_v observe_v the_o apostle_n here_o tell_v we_o that_o the_o business_n be_v do_v that_o the_o blessing_n be_v give_v bless_a be_v the_o god_n and_o father_n etc._n etc._n who_o have_v bless_v we_o with_o all_o spiritual_a blessing_n in_o christ_n sure_o our_o natural_a blessing_n the_o blessing_n of_o our_o creation_n be_v very_o great_a blessing_n our_o moral_a blessing_n be_v very_o great_a blessing_n but_o not_o to_o be_v compare_v to_o these_o spiritual_a blessing_n neither_o be_v they_o so_o insure_v for_o god_n bless_v all_o the_o posterity_n of_o adam_n with_o all_o natural_a blessing_n in_o adam_n but_o you_o know_v what_o become_v of_o they_o but_o the_o blessing_n of_o the_o new_a covenant_n they_o be_v spiritual_a blessing_n no_o more_o to_o be_v trust_v in_o the_o hand_n of_o any_o but_o of_o one_o who_o god_n dare_v venture_v to_o trust_v withal_o therefore_o say_v he_o bless_a be_v the_o god_n and_o father_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n who_o have_v bless_v we_o with_o all_o spiritual_a blessing_n in_o christ_n the_o three_o thing_n that_o be_v remarkable_a in_o the_o word_n be_v this_o the_o author_n or_o the_o great_a blesser_n who_o glory_n the_o apostle_n here_o do_v exemplify_v and_o illustrate_v by_o his_o father_n if_o there_o be_v any_o security_n or_o advantage_n arise_v to_o christian_n that_o god_n be_v christ_n god_n the_o advantage_n lie_v here_o and_o be_v improvable_a in_o this_o case_n it_o be_v hâ—_n that_o bless_v we_o if_o there_o be_v any_o advantage_n that_o result_v from_o the_o relation_n that_o god_n have_v to_o christ_n as_o a_o father_n that_o be_v never_o dishonour_v by_o he_o a_o father_n that_o be_v never_o displease_v nor_o grieve_v with_o he_o this_o redound_v also_o unto_o christian_n to_o illustrate_v the_o glory_n of_o their_o blessedness_n and_o to_o evidence_n my_o mediator_n so_o that_o my_o friend_n you_o may_v look_v upon_o god_n not_o bless_v we_o as_o a_o god_n at_o large_a but_o as_o a_o god_n engage_v in_o relation_n to_o christ_n it_o be_v the_o god_n and_o father_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n the_o same_o god_n that_o bless_a adam_n but_o now_o god_n appear_v as_o a_o blessing_n god_n in_o another_o relation_n and_o clothing_n himself_o with_o another_o glory_n he_o bless_v he_o as_o the_o creator_n ay_o but_o he_o be_v now_o bless_v christian_n as_o the_o god_n and_o father_n of_o christ_n jesus_n and_o thus_o now_o i_o have_v open_v the_o word_n to_o you_o the_o proposition_n that_o lie_v in_o the_o word_n be_v many_o but_o intend_v this_o only_a as_o a_o occasional_a discourse_n i_o shall_v therefore_o confine_v communion_n with_o his_o god_n in_o the_o execution_n of_o all_o his_o relation_n now_o sir_n i_o pray_v do_v but_o observe_v the_o apostle_n in_o that_o peculiar_a appropriate_a word_n he_o do_v another_o scripture_n if_o you_o reflect_v upon_o the_o 2_o verse_n of_o this_o chap._n you_o shall_v find_v that_o before_o the_o apostle_n mention_n god_n relation_n to_o christ_n he_o mention_n his_o relation_n to_o we_o say_v he_o grace_n be_v unto_o you_o from_o god_n our_o father_n from_o god_n our_o father_n as_o if_o the_o apostle_n will_v have_v we_o to_o understand_v that_o he_o you_o see_v the_o glory_n of_o the_o former_a temple_n and_o i_o tell_v you_o say_v he_o that_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o latter_a temple_n shall_v be_v great_a than_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o former_a they_o be_v discourage_v at_o the_o plainness_n and_o meanness_n of_o the_o building_n and_o of_o the_o furniture_n and_o adorn_v of_o the_o temple_n nay_o say_v god_n if_o that_o be_v the_o thing_n do_v not_o trouble_v yourselves_o about_o it_o so_o i_o say_v my_o friend_n you_o may_v take_v a_o estimate_n of_o other_o heart_n and_o compare_v other_o heart_n with_o you_o and_o you_o fall_v a_o murmur_a and_o discouragement_n seize_v upon_o you_o nay_o but_o let_v i_o say_v to_o you_o in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n if_o there_o be_v but_o a_o little_a grace_n be_v not_o discourage_v at_o the_o littleness_n of_o it_o you_o have_v reason_n to_o be_v humble_v that_o it_o be_v no_o more_o that_o be_v very_o true_a but_o yet_o you_o have_v no_o reason_n to_o be_v discourage_v because_o there_o be_v a_o little_a and_o the_o lord_n have_v command_v i_o to_o tell_v you_o that_o it_o lay_v in_o his_o power_n and_o within_o the_o reach_n of_o his_o grace_n to_o make_v the_o glory_n of_o that_o little_a grace_n that_o be_v in_o your_o heart_n far_o exceed_v the_o glory_n of_o that_o great_a deal_n that_o you_o observe_v to_o break_v forth_o in_o the_o heart_n of_o other_o and_o therefore_o be_v not_o discourage_v i_o shall_v urge_v this_o under_o these_o two_o consideration_n 1._o thou_o see_v it_o may_v be_v what_o be_v in_o thy_o heart_n but_o thou_o do_v not_o know_v what_o be_v in_o christ_n hand_n for_o thy_o heart_n thou_o see_v what_o come_v out_o of_o christ_n hand_n to_o thy_o heart_n but_o thou_o do_v not_o see_v what_o remain_v in_o
