the_o light_n which_o light_v all_o and_o every_o one_o of_o they_o and_o to_o inform_v they_o that_o thereby_o and_o therethrough_a salvation_n be_v attainable_a by_o every_o one_o and_o peace_n &_o reconciliation_n with_o god_n in_o their_o belief_n of_o the_o light_n and_o obedience_n thereunto_o and_o what_o can_v more_o hinder_v this_o universal_a gather_n than_o that_o particular_a narrow_a straighten_n limit_v principle_n of_o man_n of_o a_o pettish_a narrow_a heart_n and_o spirit_n who_o say_v that_o salvation_n never_o be_v be_v nor_o shall_v be_v possible_a unto_o the_o most_o part_n of_o man_n that_o god_n by_o a_o eternal_a decree_n have_v whole_o pass_v they_o by_o and_o leave_v they_o in_o darkness_n without_o any_o light_n to_o shine_v in_o their_o darkness_n that_o can_v offer_v unto_o all_o yet_o the_o thing_n be_v self_n which_o be_v the_o universal_a grace_n as_o to_o what_o it_o be_v indeed_o and_o in_o truth_n and_o in_o true_a manner_n and_o way_n of_o its_o operation_n they_o both_o deny_v and_o oppose_v it_o for_o asmuch_o as_o they_o both_o deny_v that_o the_o universal_a light_n which_o be_v give_v unto_o all_o it_o the_o light_a evangelical_a or_o a_o light_n for_o the_o faith_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o rest_v in_o therefore_o they_o do_v not_o hold_v it_o forth_o as_o the_o immediate_a object_n of_o the_o christian_a say_v second_o they_o deny_v the_o way_n and_o manner_n of_o its_o operation_n to_o be_v by_o immediate_a revelation_n three_o they_o say_v this_o light_n come_v from_o christ_n but_o christ_n himself_o be_v not_o in_o man_n in_o the_o true_a seed_n of_o regeneration_n yea_o and_o the_o true_a and_o real_a indwel_n of_o christ_n in_o the_o divine_a seed_n and_o birth_n in_o the_o very_a saint_n they_o general_o deny_v as_o also_o that_o this_o divine_a seed_n and_o birth_n be_v a_o real_a substance_n or_o that_o the_o divine_a life_n be_v substantial_a or_o subsist_v in_o any_o substantial_a principle_n of_o its_o own_o nature_n and_o so_o i_o say_v true_o that_o both_o arminian_n and_o papist_n deny_v the_o true_a universal_a grace_n as_o to_o what_o it_o be_v indeed_o and_o as_o to_o the_o true_a way_n of_o its_o operation_n and_o therefore_o may_v be_v just_o put_v in_o the_o roll_n with_o other_o as_o unskilful_a physician_n through_o their_o ignorance_n of_o and_o opposition_n unto_o this_o universal_a medicine_n and_o cure_n which_o have_v true_o the_o virtue_n to_o cure_v all_o man_n and_o all_o disease_n of_o man_n and_o be_v administer_v of_o the_o lord_n unto_o all_o whereby_o it_o so_o weak_a and_o small_a be_v only_o a_o very_a small_a remnant_n or_o relict_n of_o what_o man_n have_v before_o the_o fall_n to_o this_o i_o reply_v and_o say_v answ._n that_o this_o very_a answer_n then_o grant_v it_o to_o be_v still_o of_o a_o save_a nature_n in_o so_o much_o that_o if_o it_o save_v not_o this_o or_o that_o man_n in_o who_o it_o be_v it_o be_v not_o any_o defect_n in_o it_o be_v by_o the_o shine_a of_o the_o true_a light_n in_o such_o that_o those_o that_o resist_v not_o its_o operation_n come_v to_o be_v so_o change_v object_n 2._o all_o man_n have_v not_o faith_n therefore_o all_o man_n have_v not_o save_v light_n answ._n i_o deny_v the_o consequence_n for_o faith_n be_v the_o effect_n of_o this_o save_a light_n only_o in_o those_o that_o resist_v not_o its_o and_o indeed_o as_o concern_v the_o natural_a illumination_n the_o gentile_n can_v not_o be_v say_v to_o detain_v it_o for_o they_o give_v but_o too_o much_o way_n unto_o it_o and_o thereby_o seek_v to_o find_v out_o wisdom_n but_o can_v not_o for_o since_o the_o fall_n the_o natural_a light_n or_o illumination_n of_o man_n be_v exceed_o corrupt_v and_o yet_o man_n have_v love_v it_o and_o set_v which_o and_o their_o concession_n that_o the_o gospel_n be_v real_o glad_a tiding_n and_o hold_v forth_o the_o real_a love_n and_o good_a will_n of_o god_n unto_o some_o i_o thus_o argue_v ad_fw-la hominem_fw-la as_o they_o speak_v if_o the_o gospel_n be_v no_o otherways_o glad_a tiding_n to_o any_o but_o as_o it_o be_v to_o all_o and_o every_o particular_a than_o it_o be_v glad_a tiding_n to_o the_o knowledge_n that_o any_o particular_a among_o you_o can_v have_v of_o the_o gospel_n be_v glad_a tiding_n unto_o they_o and_o hold_v forth_o the_o love_n and_o good_a will_n of_o god_n towards_o they_o be_v either_o because_o they_o know_v the_o gospel_n to_o be_v so_o universal_o to_o all_o and_o every_o one_o or_o else_o because_o of_o some_o special_a immediate_a revelation_n from_o god_n assure_v they_o that_o though_o the_o gospel_n be_v not_o glad_a tiding_n unto_o all_o man_n but_o that_o many_o be_v yea_o the_o far_o great_a part_n of_o mankind_n except_v yet_o it_o be_v so_o to_o they_o in_o special_a god_n have_v reveal_v it_o unto_o they_o by_o name_n that_o they_o be_v include_v in_o that_o particular_a small_a number_n to_o who_o the_o gospel_n be_v glad_a tiding_n but_o this_o way_n you_o wave_v as_o deny_v immediate_a revelation_n therefore_o must_v run_v to_o the_o former_a there_o be_v no_o three_o way_n conceivable_a and_o indeed_o upon_o that_o ground_n it_o be_v clear_o deducible_a for_o if_o the_o gospel_n be_v glad_a tiding_n to_o all_o particular_n than_o any_o particular_a may_v without_o hesitation_n conclude_v it_o so_o to_o he_o for_o from_o the_o universal_a to_o the_o particular_a or_o particular_n be_v a_o most_o certain_a and_o infallible_a consequence_n as_o for_o example_n i_o or_o any_o man_n may_v conclude_v our_o selus_fw-la as_o descend_v from_o adam_n because_o all_o man_n universal_o be_v so_o and_o on_o the_o contrary_a from_o never_o so_o many_o particular_n if_o there_o be_v any_o exception_n of_o but_o any_o one_o it_o the_o gospel_n it_o must_v be_v hold_v forth_o as_o a_o thing_n certain_a and_o as_o such_o must_v be_v make_v know_v unto_o he_o for_o what_o be_v a_o man_n faith_n but_o the_o particular_a application_n of_o the_o gospel_n or_o thing_n therein_o hold_v forth_o unto_o a_o man_n self_n or_o man_n lay_v hold_n on_o the_o grace_n offer_v and_o believe_v that_o it_o belong_v to_o he_o which_o he_o can_v never_o do_v until_o it_o be_v so_o make_v know_v to_o he_o and_o that_o certain_o not_o by_o faint_a or_o rash_a conjecture_n for_o true_a divine_a faith_n rely_v not_o can_v lean_v upon_o mere_a conjecture_n but_o only_o upon_o certainty_n and_o herein_o faith_n differ_v from_o opinion_n which_o always_o rely_v upon_o conjecture_n and_o therefore_o be_v but_o faint_a and_o fluctuate_a weak_a and_o feeble_a as_o be_v the_o foundation_n upon_o which_o it_o rely_v whereas_o that_o certainty_n which_o be_v the_o right_a basis_n and_o foundation_n of_o true_a faith_n tiding_n can_v never_o be_v glad_a tiding_n the_o uncertainty_n thereof_o so_o hinder_v the_o heart_n in_o close_v there_o with_o that_o it_o can_v come_v to_o have_v joy_n therein_o but_o be_v rather_o keep_v in_o a_o anxious_a sadness_n till_o it_o know_v the_o certainty_n of_o

and_o the_o course_n of_o life_n and_o conversation_n of_o his_o saint_n and_o thus_o the_o world_n and_o the_o church_n be_v diametrical_o opposite_a to_o each_o other_o so_o that_o in_o this_o sense_n christ_n pray_v not_o for_o the_o world_n for_o that_o be_v to_o pray_v for_o the_o uphold_v and_o continuance_n of_o wickedness_n which_o be_v as_o it_o be_v the_o band_n which_o knit_v the_o be_v leave_v to_o my_o own_o liberty_n to_o choose_v whether_o i_o will_v follow_v thy_o motion_n or_o not_o yea_o according_a to_o this_o doctrine_n say_v some_o it_o be_v in_o vain_a to_o pray_v they_o nor_o yield_v to_o the_o temptation_n for_o actual_o not_o to_o resist_v and_o not_o to_o be_v able_a to_o resist_v be_v thing_n very_o different_a from_o each_o other_o and_o this_o we_o may_v
