sin_n without_o the_o spirit_n 8.13_o rom._n 8.13_o therefore_o say_v the_o apostle_n if_o you_o live_v after_o the_o flesh_n you_o shall_v die_v but_o if_o you_o through_o the_o spirit_n do_v there_o may_v be_v five_o reason_n lay_v down_o as_o the_o ground_n why_o god_n withhold_v his_o spirit_n in_o its_o strive_n with_o man_n 1._o because_o in_o time_n past_o you_o have_v refuse_v to_o hearken_v to_o the_o frequent_a motion_n and_o persuasion_n of_o god_n spirit_n the_o spirit_n of_o god_n have_v tell_v you_o that_o if_o you_o walk_v in_o such_o wicked_a way_n the_o end_n of_o they_o will_v be_v death_n how_o often_o have_v it_o suggest_v unto_o you_o that_o if_o you_o go_v on_o in_o such_o and_o such_o course_n you_o will_v be_v undo_v for_o ever_o and_o yet_o you_o have_v go_v on_o in_o sin_n and_o will_v not_o hearken_v unto_o the_o spirit_n thus_o god_n complain_v of_o his_o people_n by_o the_o psalmist_n 81.11,12_o psal_n 81.11,12_o my_o people_n will_v not_o hearken_v &_o my_o voice_n and_o israel_n will_v have_v none_o of_o i_o so_o i_o give_v they_o up_o unto_o their_o own_o heart_n lust_n and_o they_o walk_v in_o their_o own_o counsel_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v they_o will_v not_o hearken_v unto_o i_o and_o therefore_o my_o spirit_n shall_v dissuade_v they_o no_o more_o i_o will_v leave_v they_o to_o themselves_o and_o let_v they_o take_v their_o own_o course_n 2._o because_o it_o may_v be_v you_o have_v fasten_v and_o father_v sinful_a affection_n that_o arise_v from_o the_o flesh_n upon_o the_o spirit_n motion_n and_o this_o be_v such_o a_o injury_n to_o the_o spirit_n that_o he_o will_v not_o bear_v as_o when_o man_n shall_v say_v their_o wrath_n kindle_v from_o hell_n be_v the_o zeal_n of_o the_o spirit_n come_v down_o from_o heaven_n that_o their_o erroneous_a opinion_n be_v the_o spirit_n teach_n when_o he_o be_v the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n and_o satanical_a delusion_n divine_a inspiration_n and_o this_o be_v a_o indignity_n not_o inferior_a then_o if_o some_o subject_n shall_v lay_v his_o bastard_n at_o his_o prince_n gate_n and_o this_o some_o think_v be_v understand_v by_o the_o vex_v of_o the_o spirit_n mention_v by_o the_o prophet_n isaiah_n 63.10_o isa_n 63.10_o this_o may_v be_v another_o cause_n why_o the_o lord_n may_v withhold_v his_o spirit_n 3._o because_o man_n do_v more_o easy_o listen_v to_o the_o suggestion_n of_o the_o evil_a spirit_n then_o to_o the_o motion_n of_o the_o good_a spirit_n it_o make_v your_o friend_n deny_v to_o come_v to_o your_o house_n when_o you_o shall_v give_v entertainment_n to_o his_o enemy_n when_o the_o devil_n shall_v come_v and_o easy_o prevail_v with_o you_o when_o you_o shall_v either_o sin_n upon_o no_o temptation_n or_o upon_o a_o small_a temptation_n this_o be_v a_o high_a provocation_n to_o god_n spirit_n and_o this_o be_v a_o reason_n why_o there_o be_v so_o severe_a a_o judgement_n annex_v to_o the_o three_o commandment_n that_o god_n will_v not_o hold_v they_o guiltless_a that_o take_v his_o name_n in_o vain_a because_o there_o be_v less_o temptation_n to_o the_o sin_n of_o swear_v then_o to_o any_o other_o sin_n in_o the_o world_n other_o sin_n they_o be_v more_o consonant_n to_o flesh_n and_o blood_n but_o swear_v of_o all_o sin_n man_n have_v the_o least_o temptation_n to_o it_o the_o swearer_n serve_v the_o devil_n gratis_o and_o have_v neither_o profit_n nor_o pleasure_n by_o his_o sin_n and_o therefore_o god_n annex_v so_o severe_a a_o punishment_n when_o thou_o shall_v run_v unto_o sin_n upon_o a_o easy_a temptation_n and_o will_v not_o hearken_v to_o god_n spirit_n upon_o a_o earnest_a motion_n this_o provoke_v the_o lord_n to_o withhold_v the_o strive_n of_o his_o spirit_n from_o thou_o 4._o because_o in_o former_a time_n thou_o have_v plot_v and_o deliberate_v how_o to_o commit_v sin_n therefore_o the_o spirit_n will_v withdraw_v from_o thou_o for_o time_n to_o come_v there_o be_v many_o spirit_n of_o god_n 16.30_o pro._n five_o 16.30_o it_o be_v say_v of_o a_o wicked_a man_n that_o he_o shut_v his_o eye_n to_o devise_v mischief_n shut_v of_o the_o eye_n be_v a_o study_v plot_v and_o deliberate_v posture_n as_o it_o be_v with_o a_o friend_n if_o you_o shall_v give_v he_o a_o blow_n at_o peradventure_o though_o he_o may_v be_v angry_a at_o first_o yet_o when_o he_o shall_v understand_v that_o it_o be_v against_o your_o will_n he_o will_v be_v quick_o pacify_v but_o if_o he_o see_v that_o you_o plot_n and_o contrive_v his_o death_n this_o make_v he_o that_o he_o will_v never_o come_v into_o your_o company_n more_o thus_o it_o be_v with_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n when_o he_o see_v thou_o fall_v into_o sin_n inconsiderate_o and_o unadvised_o he_o will_v not_o withdraw_v from_o thou_o for_o this_o but_o when_o the_o spirit_n shall_v see_v that_o we_o waylay_v he_o and_o do_v deliberate_a and_o contrive_v how_o to_o commit_v sin_n this_o provoke_v he_o if_o death_n in_o a_o letter_n to_o joab_n so_o that_o it_o be_v a_o sin_n so_o deliberate_o act_v that_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n put_v a_o brand_n upon_o he_o for_o it_o take_v heed_n therefore_o of_o deliberate_a act_n of_o sin_n i_o censure_v none_o every_o one_o of_o you_o must_v stand_v or_o fall_v to_o your_o own_o master_n but_o this_o i_o say_v that_o it_o be_v a_o sin_n which_o give_v a_o especial_a provocation_n to_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n it_o be_v the_o say_n of_o a_o modern_a divine_a and_o a_o true_a one_o that_o a_o deliberate_a will_n to_o sin_n without_o the_o act_n be_v more_o sinful_a than_o the_o act_n of_o sin_n without_o a_o deliberate_a will_n and_o thus_o in_o the_o case_n of_o peter_n that_o man_n do_v worse_a who_o purpose_v to_o deny_v christ_n though_o he_o
