notion_n we_o ought_v to_o entertain_v of_o it_o that_o be_v whether_o it_o be_v proper_o sin_n or_o not_o this_o be_v a_o contention_n about_o word_n for_o what_o signify_v it_o by_o what_o name_n we_o call_v this_o remainder_n of_o original_a pravity_n when_o all_o grant_n that_o the_o stain_v and_o gild_n of_o it_o be_v wash_v off_o and_o pardon_v but_o if_o it_o be_v about_o the_o force_n and_o efficacy_n of_o it_o this_o indeed_o be_v a_o controversy_n of_o some_o moment_n but_o a_o very_a foolish_a one_o on_o one_o side_n for_o to_o what_o purpose_n can_v it_o be_v to_o say_v a_o great_a many_o subtle_a and_o puzzle_v thing_n against_o a_o truth_n that_o every_o man_n feel_v and_o experiment_n at_o one_o time_n or_o other_o upon_o the_o whole_a then_o i_o may_v thus_o describe_v the_o liberty_n of_o the_o perfect_a man_n with_o respect_n to_o original_a sin_n he_o have_v mortify_v it_o though_o not_o utter_o extirpate_v it_o he_o have_v subdue_v it_o though_o not_o allurement_n in_o riot_n and_o luxury_n than_o in_o frugality_n and_o a_o competency_n that_o the_o imagination_n of_o a_o solomon_n himself_o can_v but_o be_v wretched_o abuse_v if_o he_o give_v it_o leave_v to_o wander_v and_o wanton_a in_o variety_n in_o a_o word_n if_o the_o mind_n follow_v a_o carnal_a or_o worldly_a appetite_n and_o fancy_n in_o all_o its_o excess_n and_o debauch_n it_o will_v soon_o find_v itself_o miserable_o enslave_v and_o intoxicate_v it_o will_v be_v whole_o in_o the_o interest_n of_o the_o body_n and_o whole_o give_v up_o to_o to_o the_o pleasure_n of_o it_o second_o though_o the_o scripture_n do_v not_o prohibit_v some_o state_n or_o condition_n of_o this_o life_n which_o seem_v as_o it_o be_v more_o near_o ally_v to_o or_o at_o leastwise_o at_o less_o between_o the_o soul_n and_o the_o body_n that_o there_o be_v no_o way_n to_o a_o true_a and_o well_o settle_a peace_n and_o pleasure_n but_o by_o the_o reduction_n and_o mortification_n of_o the_o one_o or_o the_o other_o than_o it_o will_v be_v easy_a to_o resolve_v what_o we_o be_v to_o do_v for_o those_o appeal_v which_o atheist_n themselves_o make_v to_o reason_n proclaim_v the_o soul_n of_o man_n to_o be_v the_o ruling_n and_o noble_a part_n of_o he_o beside_o the_o soul_n be_v the_o more_o vital_a the_o more_o tender_a and_o sensible_a part_n of_o we_o and_o consequent_o the_o
