enjoyment_n they_o in_o a_o very_a short_a time_n become_v to_o be_v cast_v out_o of_o that_o enjoyment_n and_o yet_o do_v they_o not_o know_v that_o they_o be_v so_o cast_v out_o because_o of_o the_o false_a fiend_n who_o have_v get_v again_o into_o the_o house_n from_o whence_o he_o be_v go_v out_o and_o counterfeit_v god_n through_o the_o help_n of_o the_o imagination_n and_o so_o make_v these_o soul_n believe_v that_o god_n be_v their_o present_a portion_n and_o that_o they_o have_v such_o a_o fast_o thank_v of_o he_o that_o nothing_o can_v be_v able_a to_o separate_v they_o when_o at_o that_o very_a instant_n of_o time_n the_o heart_n be_v in_o captivity_n with_o the_o creature_n i_o fear_v that_o this_o be_v the_o very_a condition_n of_o many_o now_o adays_o who_o have_v know_v god_n after_o this_o manner_n beforesaid_a and_o yet_o have_v forsake_v he_o again_o and_o turn_v to_o the_o creature_n and_o yet_o do_v but_o little_a know_v that_o they_o be_v so_o far_o carry_v away_o from_o god_n as_o they_o be_v but_o when_o god_n in_o his_o orderly_a proceed_n go_v on_o in_o bring_v the_o soul_n through_o all_o the_o danger_n and_o difficulty_n of_o the_o creature_n and_o self_n then_o do_v he_o not_o suffer_v the_o soul_n to_o have_v what_o it_o will_v have_v nor_o enjoy_v what_o it_o will_v enjoy_v in_o that_o first_o manifestation_n of_o himself_o in_o the_o name_n of_o his_o son_n but_o as_o the_o bodily_a presence_n of_o jesus_n be_v to_o be_v take_v away_o in_o his_o appear_v in_o the_o second_o dispensation_n in_o the_o flesh_n that_o so_o he_o may_v come_v again_o in_o the_o spirit_n or_o ghostly_a baptism_n by_o which_o they_o shall_v still_o be_v lead_v on_o till_o they_o be_v in_o the_o near_a and_o safe_a union_n of_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n that_o can_v be_v attain_v to_o in_o the_o body_n so_o it_o be_v that_o the_o ghostly_a presence_n in_o the_o first_o manifestation_n in_o the_o spirit_n must_v be_v take_v away_o that_o so_o the_o spirit_n may_v come_v to_o a_o further_o and_o more_o sure_a partake_n of_o the_o divine_a nature_n than_o it_o can_v in_o the_o first_o manifestation_n for_o as_o christ_n follower_n can_v have_v be_v please_v to_o have_v still_o enjoy_v the_o bodily_a presence_n of_o christ_n in_o the_o first_o appear_v in_o the_o flesh_n so_o will_v a_o soul_n be_v please_v with_o the_o first_o manifestation_n of_o god_n appear_v in_o the_o name_n of_o his_o son_n to_o the_o spirit_n but_o as_o christ_n bodily_a presence_n must_v be_v take_v away_o that_o thereby_o the_o life_n of_o self_n which_o live_v in_o the_o sense_n and_o reason_n of_o his_o disciple_n under_o that_o present_a enjoyment_n may_v become_v destroy_v and_o overthrow_v by_o the_o come_n again_o in_o the_o power_n of_o the_o spirit_n or_o ghostly_a baptism_n so_o it_o be_v that_o the_o first_o appearance_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n in_o the_o first_o appearance_n of_o the_o soul_n must_v be_v hide_v and_o take_v away_o because_o of_o so_o much_o life_n of_o self_n in_o the_o sense_n and_o reason_n and_o that_o by_o a_o further_a and_o more_o clear_a and_o safe_a way_n to_o manifest_v himself_o in_o the_o soul_n and_o that_o be_v by_o the_o pour_v out_o of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n into_o it_o by_o the_o virtue_n of_o which_o the_o soul_n become_v baptize_v into_o the_o suffering_n and_o death_n of_o christ_n whereby_o the_o life_n of_o sense_n and_o reason_n become_v to_o die_v and_o the_o spirit_n bring_v out_o of_o the_o claw_n of_o sin_n death_n devil_n and_o hell_n and_o the_o power_n of_o the_o resurrection_n of_o christ_n become_v to_o be_v know_v and_o the_o body_n of_o sin_n become_v to_o be_v destroy_v by_o the_o powerful_a work_n and_o burn_v of_o this_o ghostly_a baptism_n and_o this_o be_v the_o very_a baptism_n the_o apostle_n paul_n speak_v of_o when_o he_o say_v know_v you_o not_o so_o many_o of_o we_o as_o be_v baptize_v into_o christ_n be_v baptize_v into_o his_o death_n therefore_o we_o be_v bury_v with_o he_o by_o baptism_n into_o his_o death_n etc._n etc._n for_o if_o we_o have_v be_v plant_v together_o into_o the_o likeness_n of_o his_o death_n we_o shall_v also_o be_v in_o the_o likeness_n of_o his_o resurrection_n know_v this_o that_o our_o old_a man_n be_v crucify_v with_o he_o that_o the_o body_n of_o sin_n may_v be_v destroy_v that_o dwell_v the_o love_n of_o god_n in_o such_o and_o in_o the_o have_v of_o these_o thing_n do_v they_o not_o puff_n up_o the_o person_n that_o have_v they_o above_o their_o fellow_n creature_n and_o so_o respect_v person_n and_o account_v much_o of_o such_o as_o themselves_o and_o despise_v those_o who_o be_v inferior_a to_o they_o jam._n 2.3_o be_v not_o this_o a_o shame_n and_o yet_o how_o many_o do_v glory_n herein_o nay_o how_o many_o various_a pleasure_n and_o delight_n be_v there_o that_o man_n glory_v in_o and_o yet_o a_o shame_n to_o be_v take_v up_o with_o they_o how_o many_o shameful_a glorying_n belong_v to_o those_o who_o be_v the_o enemy_n of_o the_o cross_n who_o have_v their_o belly_n for_o their_o god_n but_o i_o let_v they_o pass_v and_o come_v to_o the_o three_o character_n viz._n who_o mind_n earthly_a thing_n its_o love_n to_o that_o which_o be_v the_o god_n have_v the_o mind_n and_o no_o marvel_n if_o the_o belly_n be_v the_o god_n if_o the_o mind_n be_v set_v on_o earthly_a thing_n and_o this_o be_v that_o which_o will_v try_v all_o soul_n whether_o they_o have_v god_n or_o their_o belly_n for_o their_o god_n for_o though_o the_o belly_n can_v devour_v all_o in_o the_o worship_v of_o it_o yet_o that_o which_o be_v not_o offer_v in_o sacrifice_n to_o it_o that_o become_v to_o be_v glory_v in_o and_o for_o uphold_v that_o worship_n and_o that_o glory_n the_o mind_n must_v of_o necessity_n be_v carry_v out_o to_o meddle_v about_o earthly_a thing_n for_o it_o be_v these_o that_o must_v uphold_v all_o the_o glory_n and_o the_o worship_n of_o that_o god_n and_o though_o the_o glory_n and_o the_o worship_n of_o that_o god_n be_v the_o best_a perform_v by_o and_o of_o those_o who_o be_v rich_a yet_o those_o who_o be_v not_o so_o great_a and_o rich_a in_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o world_n i_o make_v no_o doubt_n but_o their_o will_n be_v as_o bend_v to_o worship_v that_o god_n and_o to_o glory_n after_o that_o manner_n and_o its_o possible_a the_o will_n may_v be_v acceptable_a for_o the_o deed_n and_o where_o the_o will_n be_v lead_v out_o in_o defire_v of_o those_o thing_n i_o be_o sure_a the_o mind_n be_v set_v about_o earthly_a thing_n for_o where_o there_o be_v any_o god_n but_o the_o true_a god_n either_o in_o possession_n or_o in_o desire_n the_o mind_n will_v be_v constant_o carry_v out_o about_o that_o which_o will_v please_v their_o god_n and_o two_o god_n no_o man_n can_v serve_v for_o he_o will_v love_v the_o one_o and_o hate_v the_o other_o mat._n 6.24_o and_o those_o who_o will_v own_o the_o true_a god_n for_o their_o god_n be_v not_o to_o have_v their_o mind_n set_v or_o carry_v out_o to_o seek_v any_o thing_n below_o he_o no_o not_o so_o much_o as_o to_o have_v a_o thought_n of_o what_o shall_v be_v the_o next_o day_n and_o all_o that_o any_o shall_v look_v for_o in_o this_o world_n be_v no_o more_o than_o needful_a food_n and_o raiment_n and_o this_o must_v not_o be_v have_v with_o either_o fear_v care_v or_o desire_v but_o by_o way_n of_o believe_a and_o the_o mind_n whole_o carry_v out_o in_o seek_v the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n and_o the_o righteousness_n thereof_o these_o be_v old_a worn-out_a say_n of_o christ_n and_o they_o be_v wear_v out_o of_o date_n with_o oldness_n they_o be_v but_o little_o heed_v for_o we_o have_v get_v a_o new_a way_n to_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n by_o which_o we_o can_v carry_v the_o world_n and_o the_o body_n of_o sin_n and_o selfness_n and_o duty_n and_o all_o together_o and_o this_o way_n be_v by_o the_o false_a faith_n frame_v by_o the_o brain_n knowledge_n of_o the_o learned_a priest_n and_o see_v they_o have_v invent_v such_o a_o fine_a way_n how_o can_v fool_n but_o love_v they_o and_o think_v themselves_o happy_a if_o they_o can_v but_o get_v incorporate_v into_o their_o congregation_n but_o weigh_v what_o be_v hint_v at_o before_o and_o see_v who_o be_v the_o enemy_n of_o the_o cross_n and_o i_o believe_v you_o shall_v find_v no_o want_n of_o such_o in_o your_o congregation_n and_o indeed_o i_o do_v not_o marvel_n that_o the_o cross_n have_v so_o many_o enemy_n see_v the_o virtue_n of_o it_o will_v take_v away_o sin_n and_o destroy_v self_n and_o man_n love_v self_n so_o well_o they_o can_v abide_v to_o go_v to_o heaven_n without_o it_o and_o this_o new-found_a way_n lead_v to_o heaven_n another_o way_n in_o which_o self_n and_o all_o go_v together_o my_o friend_n who_o be_v of_o the_o independent_a congregation_n consider_v with_o yourselves_o whether_o or_o no_o you_o be_v the_o enemy_n of_o the_o cross_n or_o not_o &_o do_v not_o so_o much_o pretend_v christ_n and_o talk_v of_o christ_n with_o your_o tongue_n and_o yet_o be_v enemy_n to_o his_o cross_n in_o your_o heart_n i_o know_v what_o i_o speak_v and_o have_v some_o ground_n for_o what_o i_o say_v i_o know_v where_o you_o stand_v and_o what_o be_v your_o worship_n well_o enough_o and_o i_o have_v just_a cause_n to_o fear_v that_o many_o in_o your_o congregation_n be_v more_o enemy_n than_o friend_n to_o the_o cross_n but_o i_o be_o partly_o persuade_v that_o your_o ignorance_n be_v some_o cause_n thereof_o and_o the_o cause_n of_o your_o ignorance_n be_v by_o reason_n of_o many_o of_o your_o minister_n for_o i_o know_v you_o have_v abundance_n of_o they_o who_o be_v of_o the_o false-hearted_a crew_n who_o through_o cunning_a of_o their_o wit_n have_v play_v the_o juggler_n and_o see_v your_o order_n come_v into_o request_n and_o like_a to_o carry_v the_o sway_n in_o these_o time_n and_o fear_v to_o be_v loser_n by_o such_o alteration_n through_o their_o cunning_n have_v transform_v themselves_o into_o another_o shape_n and_o so_o have_v creep_v in_o among_o you_o and_o though_o they_o seem_v to_o be_v something_o yet_o they_o be_v but_o the_o same_o they_o be_v before_o in_o their_o heart_n and_o i_o know_v they_o have_v power_n by_o the_o great_a hand_n of_o their_o god_n who_o first_o make_v they_o minister_n to_o metamorphize_v themselves_o into_o any_o likeness_n but_o beware_v of_o they_o for_o they_o will_v keep_v you_o still_o in_o ignorance_n and_o by_o dissemble_a deceive_v you_o for_o they_o be_v many_o of_o they_o the_o enemy_n of_o the_o cross_n of_o christ_n yea_o and_o have_v wrest_v the_o mind_n of_o god_n in_o the_o scripture_n contrary_a to_o what_o he_o aim_v it_o for_o and_o have_v make_v use_n of_o it_o for_o their_o own_o back_n end_n and_o have_v teach_v the_o people_n contrary_a to_o the_o truth_n and_o so_o have_v keep_v they_o in_o ignorance_n until_o this_o day_n and_o by_o their_o mean_n the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o cross_n have_v cease_v these_o many_o year_n and_o so_o there_o have_v be_v the_o fall_n away_o from_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o truth_n and_o this_o the_o apostle_n paul_n see_v clear_o in_o his_o time_n and_o tell_v the_o people_n that_o the_o day_n of_o christ_n shall_v not_o come_v before_o such_o a_o fall_n 2_o thes_n 2.3_o i_o will_v have_v give_v you_o a_o full_a description_n of_o the_o ensue_a mystery_n in_o this_o chapter_n but_o that_o i_o will_v not_o be_v too_o tedious_a to_o you_o nor_o too_o much_o truth_n appear_v but_o it_o be_v no_o marvel_n for_o truth_n always_o find_v many_o enemy_n among_o man_n but_o especial_o among_o priest_n in_o all_o age_n and_o it_o will_v be_v so_o as_o long_o as_o the_o order_n of_o priest_n be_v in_o date_n yet_o i_o confess_v though_o your_o come_n into_o the_o ministry_n be_v absolute_o against_o the_o mind_n and_o command_v of_o god_n as_o be_v the_o first_o order_n of_o king_n in_o israel_n and_o that_o god_n have_v wink_v at_o you_o above_o thirteen_o hundred_o year_n and_o suffer_v you_o to_o come_v into_o the_o ministry_n by_o the_o ordinance_n of_o man_n yet_o as_o god_n own_v some_o of_o the_o king_n in_o israel_n so_o i_o make_v no_o doubt_n but_o that_o god_n have_v own_v some_o among_o you_o but_o yet_o i_o believe_v solomon_n account_n may_v be_v their_o number_n and_o those_o among_o you_o who_o god_n have_v own_v or_o to_o this_o day_n do_v own_o they_o be_v make_v to_o see_v and_o confess_v the_o emptiness_n cheat_n and_o a_o foolish_a thing_n to_o make_v a_o right_a minister_n of_o the_o word_n of_o truth_n and_o so_o be_v make_v to_o renounce_v all_o the_o curiosity_n of_o art_n and_o scholarship_n and_o as_o they_o have_v receive_v the_o truth_n from_o the_o fountain_n of_o truth_n so_o be_v they_o make_v to_o speak_v and_o these_o soul_n can_v envy_v any_o man_n in_o who_o the_o truth_n be_v but_o rejoice_v to_o see_v they_o and_o hear_v they_o speak_v and_o account_v they_o as_o the_o minister_n of_o god_n though_o they_o be_v never_o put_v to_o the_o holy_a university_n for_o the_o same_o spirit_n proceed_v from_o the_o same_o fountain_n make_v no_o difference_n and_o these_o man_n account_v it_o their_o joy_n to_o be_v in_o the_o society_n of_o people_n who_o be_v experience_v and_o they_o seek_v no_o lordship_n over_o the_o people_n nor_o be_v they_o so_o hungry_a heart_v after_o tithe_n and_o great_a benefice_n but_o can_v rather_o condescend_v to_o work_v with_o their_o own_o hand_n for_o their_o bread_n but_o i_o believe_v you_o have_v not_o many_o of_o these_o among_o you_o for_o the_o curse_n have_v cover_v the_o face_n of_o the_o most_o of_o you_o in_o your_o generation_n under_o which_o you_o be_v close_o seal_v from_o the_o right_a knowledge_n of_o truth_n and_o can_v no_o more_o believe_v your_o deceit_n than_o the_o apostle_n paul_n before_o his_o conversion_n but_o seldom_o do_v god_n execute_v justice_n upon_o any_o people_n before_o he_o give_v they_o warning_n of_o their_o sin_n and_o after_o that_o a_o time_n to_o repent_v but_o who_o be_v the_o mystery_n of_o sin_n and_o selfness_n in_o all_o other_o and_o that_o you_o may_v be_v right_o make_v partaker_n of_o the_o mystery_n of_o the_o divine_a nature_n that_o from_o the_o enjoyment_n or_o his_o fury_n or_o anger_n etc._n etc._n be_v kindle_v in_o the_o soul_n of_o man_n in_o the_o condemn_a property_n of_o the_o light_n which_o be_v in_o the_o conscience_n and_o the_o spirit_n of_o man_n find_v itself_o deprive_v of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o nothing_o but_o the_o fury_n of_o the_o lord_n pour_v out_o and_o that_o nothing_o but_o woe_n and_o want_n appear_v in_o the_o in_o matter_n and_o likeness_n in_o the_o coporality_n so_o christ_n and_o the_o father_n be_v distinct_a in_o respect_n of_o the_o matter_n and_o likeness_n in_o the_o corporality_n viz._n the_o flesh_n while_o he_o live_v in_o it_o but_o do_v not_o differ_v from_o the_o father_n in_o union_n as_o himself_o faith_n joh._n 14.11_o which_o unity_n consist_v of_o the_o original_a communion_n can_v excuse_v himself_o when_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o say_n be_v open_v well_o what_o be_v god_n he_o be_v the_o chief_a delight_n and_o chief_a treasure_n and_o those_o that_o know_v he_o do_v choose_v he_o so_o and_o he_o be_v their_o chief_a delight_n and_o chief_a treasure_n and_o so_o their_o heart_n be_v with_o he_o and_o all_o its_o affection_n in_o seek_v love_a fear_v and_o desire_v he_o either_o in_o prayer_n or_o praise_n and_o all_o your_o thought_n take_v up_o with_o thing_n of_o the_o same_o nature_n and_o thing_n of_o the_o world_n be_v but_o a_o great_a vexation_n to_o desire_n and_o seek_v what_o may_v be_v answerable_a to_o and_o for_o its_o requiring_n and_o so_o the_o affection_n by_o the_o communion_n they_o have_v with_o the_o sense_n and_o the_o command_n over_o they_o do_v cause_v they_o to_o help_v on_o this_o work_n and_o through_o the_o command_a power_n of_o both_o the_o other_o member_n of_o the_o body_n be_v carry_v on_o to_o act_v in_o that_o obedience_n also_o and_o thus_o be_v the_o whole_a man_n in_o action_n about_o the_o service_n of_o the_o belly_n and_o so_o man_n be_v make_v to_o invent_v think_v and_o desire_v and_o act_n about_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v create_v for_o satisfy_v the_o belly_n from_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o the_o belly_n be_v the_o chief_a god_n that_o all_o these_o superfluity_n be_v provide_v for_o it_o and_o so_o many_o several_a dish_n when_o one_o of_o they_o will_v serve_v nature_n and_o for_o uphold_v the_o worship_n of_o this_o god_n what_o care_n fear_v and_o desire_v labour_n and_o watch_v and_o wait_v yea_o some_o for_o the_o worship_n and_o service_n they_o owe_v to_o this_o god_n sacrifice_v all_o their_o whole_a estate_n and_o some_o for_o this_o service_n will_v oppress_v their_o fellow_n creature_n and_o some_o for_o this_o service_n labour_n day_n and_o night_n both_o in_o body_n and_o mind_n and_o all_o little_a enough_o to_o satisfy_v this_o hungry_a god_n and_o whatsoever_o belong_v to_o the_o back_n have_v a_o relation_n to_o the_o belly_n and_o these_o two_o agree_v in_o one_o in_o their_o requiring_n as_o they_o become_v god_n and_o so_o to_z and_z for_o their_o worship_n through_o the_o command_a power_n of_o lust_n put_v in_o action_n all_o the_o affection_n sense_n and_o member_n of_o the_o body_n and_o soul_n and_o so_o it_o be_v that_o so_o many_o foolish_a fantastic_a fashion_n and_o superfluous_a habit_n become_v wear_v in_o these_o day_n so_o that_o i_o much_o fear_v this_o god_n have_v great_a power_n and_o be_v much_o worship_v in_o our_o time_n yea_o more_o than_o heretofore_o and_o as_o man_n have_v power_n in_o their_o hand_n viz._n the_o riches_n of_o this_o world_n they_o become_v the_o great_a provider_n for_o this_o god_n sacrifice_n and_o then_o they_o become_v to_o have_v the_o second_o character_n set_v upon_o they_o viz._n they_o glory_v in_o their_o shame_n be_v not_o this_o to_o be_v see_v in_o our_o day_n among_o most_o sort_n of_o those_o we_o call_v professor_n how_o they_o be_v carry_v out_o to_o worship_n back_o and_o belly_n as_o be_v before_o say_v but_o especial_o among_o those_o who_o be_v rich_a in_o the_o world_n have_v such_o sumptuous_a and_o excessive_a table_n and_o all_o thing_n suitable_a for_o the_o uphold_v of_o the_o lust_n of_o the_o eye_n &_o yet_o do_v they_o not_o see_v very_o many_o of_o their_o fellow_n creature_n like_v to_o starve_v both_o for_o meat_n and_o clothing_n and_o yet_o they_o can_v look_v upon_o they_o with_o a_o light_n look_v and_o very_o little_a compassion_n and_o the_o reason_n be_v that_o which_o they_o have_v they_o must_v keep_v for_o sacrifice_n for_o their_o god_n and_o the_o rest_n they_o must_v keep_v for_o themselves_o to_o glory_n in_o for_o the_o very_a sight_n of_o rich_a superfluity_n lift_v up_o the_o heart_n and_o the_o thought_n thereof_o do_v yield_v they_o comfort_n and_o the_o have_v and_o possess_v of_o these_o thing_n win_v the_o praise_n of_o such_o fool_n as_o themselves_o and_o in_o all_o these_o they_o glory_n and_o yet_o all_o they_o glory_n in_o be_v but_o their_o shame_n yea_o and_o abominable_a
