himself_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o who_o in_o heaven_n can_v only_o make_v the_o soul_n perfect_o and_o complete_o happy_a be_v i_o to_o persuade_v wicked_a man_n i_o will_v not_o say_v long_o for_o death_n but_o only_o to_o be_v willing_a to_o die_v my_o task_n be_v not_o only_o difficult_a but_o impossible_a for_o who_o can_v by_o any_o argument_n prevail_v upon_o a_o rational_a creature_n willing_o to_o run_v himself_o into_o misery_n and_o torment_n though_o but_o of_o a_o short_a continuance_n much_o more_o to_o rush_v upon_o those_o misery_n and_o torment_n that_o shall_v be_v everlasting_a into_o which_o every_o wicked_a man_n when_o he_o come_v to_o die_v shall_v fall_v and_o this_o sinner_n know_v not_o only_o from_o scripture_n revelation_n but_o from_o the_o terror_n death_n in_o their_o meditation_n with_o holy_a long_n and_o desire_n of_o soul_n after_o it_o and_o certain_o there_o be_v no_o need_n of_o any_o other_o argument_n to_o urge_v this_o duty_n upon_o such_o than_o bare_o to_o tell_v they_o that_o heaven_n stand_v open_a ready_a to_o receive_v they_o and_o all_o the_o hurt_n death_n will_v do_v unto_o such_o be_v to_o give_v they_o admission_n into_o such_o a_o state_n of_o bliss_n and_o happiness_n as_o shall_v extend_v itself_o unto_o the_o satisfaction_n of_o all_o their_o desire_n unto_o the_o utmost_a both_o as_o to_o the_o nature_n and_o quality_n of_o they_o and_o also_o as_o to_o the_o duration_n and_o continuance_n of_o they_o the_o happiness_n of_o heaven_n be_v so_o great_a that_o it_o require_v the_o capacity_n of_o the_o soul_n shall_v be_v enlarge_v to_o take_v in_o the_o fullness_n thereof_o it_o be_v impossible_a the_o soul_n of_o man_n shall_v now_o receive_v or_o bear_v up_o under_o the_o oppress_a weight_n of_o so_o great_a a_o happiness_n as_o be_v there_o to_o be_v enjoy_v rest_v not_o thyself_o therefore_o satisfy_v o_o believe_a soul_n with_o a_o bare_a contentment_n of_o mind_n that_o when_o thou_o die_v thou_o shall_v certain_o go_v to_o heaven_n but_o let_v thy_o frequent_a thought_n hereof_o fill_v thou_o with_o holy_a long_n and_o pant_n of_o soul_n after_o that_o bless_a state_n the_o misery_n of_o this_o life_n and_o the_o uncomfortableness_n of_o a_o christian_n manner_n of_o live_v while_o he_o be_v here_o in_o respect_n of_o sin_n sorrow_n doubt_n fear_n ignorance_n and_o desire_n of_o thy_o soul_n after_o it_o can_v thou_o in_o the_o whole_a universe_n find_v out_o better_a society_n in_o converse_v with_o who_o thou_o can_v enjoy_v such_o soul-satisfying_a pleasure_n yea_o such_o ravish_a joy_n and_o delight_n as_o be_v there_o to_o be_v find_v there_o be_v holy_a angel_n that_o never_o sin_v who_o nature_n as_o well_o as_o who_o happiness_n in_o this_o state_n of_o mortality_n be_v beyond_o the_o reach_n of_o thy_o understanding_n to_o fathom_n there_o be_v glorify_v saint_n advance_v to_o that_o perfection_n of_o grace_n and_o holiness_n that_o they_o shall_v never_o sin_v more_o there_o be_v the_o bless_a and_o never_o to_o be_v sufficient_o admire_v saviour_n and_o redeemer_n of_o sinner_n the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n who_o as_o he_o once_o in_o our_o nature_n shed_v his_o blood_n here_o on_o earth_n to_o purchase_v heaven_n for_o believer_n so_o be_v he_o now_o reside_v in_o the_o same_o nature_n there_o prepare_v place_n for_o they_o ready_a to_o receive_v they_o into_o the_o embrace_n of_o his_o love_n and_o favour_n yea_o in_o that_o glorious_a place_n there_o be_v that_o which_o shall_v much_o more_o excite_v the_o desire_n of_o believer_n after_o it_o for_o there_o be_v the_o infinite_o great_a and_o glorious_a god_n who_o excellency_n and_o perfection_n be_v such_o that_o as_o none_o can_v understand_v none_o can_v make_v know_v so_o none_o can_v bear_v the_o discovery_n of_o they_o such_o dazzle_a excellency_n of_o glory_n and_o beauty_n be_v there_o in_o the_o face_n of_o god_n that_o angel_n themselves_o be_v of_o a_o earthy_a dreggy_a nature_n shall_v then_o cleave_v to_o they_o all_o carnal_a sordid_a employment_n be_v great_o below_o they_o their_o work_n be_v altogether_o heavenly_a and_o spiritual_a former_o their_o time_n and_o strength_n be_v lay_v out_o upon_o employment_n that_o be_v earthly_a suitable_a unto_o their_o then_o earthly_a body_n but_o now_o that_o their_o body_n be_v change_v and_o of_o earthly_a become_v spiritual_a their_o employment_n be_v change_v and_o become_v spiritual_a also_o and_o because_o there_o be_v such_o a_o change_n in_o the_o employment_n of_o their_o body_n it_o be_v a_o evident_a demonstration_n that_o there_o be_v a_o change_n make_v in_o their_o body_n also_o heretofore_o the_o world_n be_v the_o habitation_n in_o which_o their_o body_n dwell_v and_o their_o design_n then_o be_v worldly_a also_o but_o now_o that_o they_o be_v remove_v from_o earth_n to_o heaven_n the_o habitation_n of_o spirit_n their_o body_n be_v refine_v and_o make_v spiritual_a suitable_a unto_o the_o habitation_n to_o the_o inhabitant_n to_o the_o employment_n and_o enjoyment_n that_o be_v there_o which_o be_v altogether_o spiritual_a three_o the_o body_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n shall_v be_v full_a of_o power_n and_o agility_n they_o be_v sow_o say_v the_o apostle_n in_o weakness_n they_o be_v frail_a sinful_a body_n and_o therefore_o they_o must_v die_v yet_o shall_v they_o be_v raise_v in_o power_n now_o this_o power_n and_o agility_n that_o shall_v be_v bestow_v upon_o glorify_a body_n be_v very_o wonderful_a be_v that_o whereby_o they_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o move_v to_o and_o fro_o in_o heaven_n according_a as_o the_o will_n shall_v command_v it_o without_o difficulty_n or_o weariness_n and_o possible_o so_o as_o to_o be_v able_a work_n as_o in_o heaven_n they_o must_v be_v employ_v in_o be_v their_o body_n as_o weak_a and_o feeble_a in_o heaven_n as_o they_o now_o be_v on_o earth_n they_o can_v never_o undergo_v such_o work_n and_o motion_n as_o they_o must_v be_v employ_v in_o there_o but_o they_o will_v soon_o tire_v and_o faint_a scripture_n and_o experience_n tell_v we_o this_o that_o when_o the_o soul_n be_v exercise_v about_o any_o high_a and_o glorious_a object_n the_o body_n present_o sink_v and_o fail_v so_o it_o be_v in_o the_o ecstasy_n of_o the_o prophet_n when_o god_n do_v reveal_v himself_o in_o a_o extraordinary_a manner_n unto_o daniel_n his_o body_n fail_v he_o faint_v and_o be_v sick_a many_o day_n dan._n 8.27_o but_o now_o in_o heaven_n the_o body_n of_o the_o saint_n shall_v be_v so_o strong_a and_o powerful_a that_o they_o shall_v become_v serviceable_a to_o their_o soul_n in_o their_o high_a and_o most_o glorious_a operation_n here_o the_o people_n of_o god_n have_v soul_n thing_n to_o see_v a_o wicked_a man_n under_o the_o light_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o be_v afraid_a of_o death_n and_o to_o lead_v a_o life_n accompany_v with_o fear_n and_o terror_n under_o the_o thought_n of_o it_o no_o the_o wonder_n rather_o be_v that_o such_o a_o one_o can_v have_v any_o case_n and_o quietness_n any_o freedom_n from_o horror_n and_o perplexity_n of_o mind_n that_o he_o be_v not_o a_o magormissabib_fw-la continual_o every_o moment_n of_o his_o life_n encompass_v about_o with_o fear_n and_o terror_n and_o indeed_o do_v he_o right_o understand_v himself_o and_o his_o dangerous_a state_n and_o condition_n it_o will_v be_v thus_o always_o with_o he_o and_o the_o greatness_n of_o his_o fear_n and_o horror_n will_v make_v he_o go_v mourn_v all_o his_o day_n but_o this_o great_a happiness_n of_o the_o saint_n the_o beatifical_a vision_n of_o god_n i_o shall_v content_v myself_o with_o those_o thing_n that_o be_v most_o plain_a and_o will_v be_v most_o beneficial_a now_o the_o sacred_a scripture_n give_v we_o a_o account_n of_o this_o great_a and_o mysterious_a part_n of_o the_o saint_n happiness_n in_o many_o high_a and_o lofty_a expression_n call_v it_o sometime_o a_o see_v of_o the_o face_n of_o god_n rev._n 22.4_o they_o shall_v see_v his_o face_n sometime_o it_o be_v set_v forth_o by_o our_o become_a like_a unto_o god_n and_o see_v he_o as_o he_o be_v so_o in_o 1_o john_n 3.2_o now_o say_v the_o apostle_n we_o be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n but_o it_o do_v not_o no_o nor_o can_v it_o yet_o appear_v what_o we_o shall_v be_v but_o most_o beautiful_a person_n or_o object_n in_o the_o world_n yet_o be_v there_o no_o transform_a power_n come_v from_o they_o to_o work_v any_o alteration_n in_o the_o complexion_n of_o the_o beholder_n render_v he_o the_o more_o beautiful_a by_o the_o sight_n of_o those_o person_n or_o object_n he_o may_v carry_v away_o a_o idea_n of_o the_o beauty_n and_o comeliness_n of_o those_o person_n or_o object_n that_o he_o have_v behold_v in_o his_o mind_n which_o may_v delight_v his_o fancy_n in_o the_o thought_n of_o they_o but_o there_o be_v no_o alteration_n make_v in_o he_o but_o the_o same_o deformity_n and_o blemish_n remain_v still_o notwithstanding_o but_o it_o be_v otherwise_o in_o heaven_n the_o sight_n of_o the_o glorious_a and_o holy_a god_n make_v the_o saint_n that_o behold_v he_o to_o become_v like_a unto_o he_o in_o holiness_n and_o glory_n for_o so_o be_v the_o word_n of_o the_o belove_a apostle_n who_o lie_v in_o the_o bosom_n of_o christ_n 1_o john_n 3.2_o we_o shall_v be_v like_a unto_o he_o that_o be_v unto_o god_n and_o the_o ground_n or_o reason_n of_o it_o follow_v in_o the_o next_o word_n for_o we_o shall_v see_v he_o as_o he_o be_v it_o be_v true_a the_o people_n of_o god_n be_v like_a unto_o he_o while_o they_o be_v in_o this_o world_n but_o their_o likeness_n to_o god_n here_o and_o their_o likeness_n to_o he_o in_o heaven_n great_o differ_v the_o likeness_n that_o the_o people_n of_o god_n have_v unto_o god_n in_o this_o life_n be_v both_o a_o imperfect_a likeness_n and_o a_o grow_a likeness_n neither_o of_o which_o be_v the_o people_n of_o god_n capable_a of_o in_o heaven_n first_o the_o likeness_n they_o have_v to_o god_n here_o be_v a_o imperfect_a likeness_n in_o some_o thing_n they_o be_v like_a unto_o god_n and_o in_o now_o the_o saint_n likeness_n to_o god_n in_o heaven_n by_o the_o vision_n they_o have_v of_o he_o there_o it_o be_v such_o a_o likeness_n as_o exclude_v all_o sin_n and_o all_o imperfection_n they_o be_v so_o like_a unto_o god_n that_o they_o be_v nothing_o but_o what_o he_o be_v not_o as_o to_o his_o be_v and_o essence_n for_o that_o be_v incommunicable_a but_o in_o grace_n and_o holiness_n and_o so_o according_a to_o their_o capacity_n they_o partake_v of_o the_o divine_a nature_n itself_o and_o oh_o what_o a_o bless_a state_n will_v this_o be_v when_o we_o shall_v have_v nothing_o in_o we_o but_o what_o we_o partake_v of_o from_o god_n and_o wherein_o we_o shall_v be_v in_o every_o thing_n like_o unto_o he_o second_o that_o likeness_n the_o people_n of_o god_n have_v unto_o god_n here_o be_v a_o grow_a likeness_n that_o grace_n and_o holiness_n believer_n have_v in_o this_o life_n wherein_o consist_v their_o likeness_n unto_o god_n it_o be_v always_o grow_v and_o increase_v in_o they_o hence_o the_o apostle_n tell_v we_o that_o the_o state_n of_o christian_n here_o be_v like_a unto_o newborn_a babe_n who_o be_v always_o desirous_a of_o the_o breast_n for_o their_o nourishment_n and_o growth_n 1_o pet._n 2.2_o as_o newborn_a babe_n that_o desire_v the_o sincere_a milk_n of_o the_o word_n that_o we_o may_v grow_v thereby_o no_o saint_n or_o servant_n of_o god_n ever_o attain_v to_o that_o degree_n of_o grace_n and_o holiness_n here_o but_o still_o there_o be_v something_o lack_v in_o his_o faith_n something_o defective_a in_o his_o love_n something_o want_v in_o his_o patience_n something_o that_o may_v be_v add_v to_o his_o heavenly-mindedness_a to_o his_o meekness_n to_o his_o humility_n and_o to_o all_o his_o other_o grace_n hence_o therefore_o it_o be_v that_o the_o people_n of_o god_n be_v so_o often_o command_v to_o add_v to_o their_o spiritual_a stature_n to_o increase_v with_o the_o increase_v of_o god_n to_o grow_v in_o grace_n and_o in_o the_o save_a knowledge_n of_o our_o lord_n and_o saviour_n jesus_n christ_n and_o to_o explain_v this_o truth_n no_o far_o that_o of_o the_o apostle_n be_v full_a to_o this_o purpose_n 2_o cor._n set_v before_o he_o and_o who_o may_v rejoice_v if_o he_o may_v not_o he_o have_v the_o great_a the_o almighty_a god_n for_o his_o shield_n and_o protection_n here_o and_o to_o be_v his_o exceed_a refine_a nature_n of_o the_o soul_n yea_o it_o be_v a_o great_a affront_n and_o abuse_v that_o we_o put_v upon_o our_o spiritual_a heavenborn_a soul_n when_o we_o give_v they_o nothing_o to_o feed_v upon_o or_o to_o delight_v in_o but_o what_o the_o dregs_o of_o earthly_a enjoyment_n will_v afford_v they_o alas_o the_o soul_n be_v of_o so_o pure_a and_o refine_a a_o constitution_n that_o it_o can_v live_v in_o much_o less_o be_v delight_v with_o the_o foggy_a thick_a air_n of_o earthly_a and_o sensual_a enjoyment_n it_o be_v a_o debase_v the_o noble_a and_o high-born_a soul_n of_o man_n to_o attempt_v to_o match_v it_o with_o the_o low_a and_o base_a thing_n of_o this_o world_n spiritual_a being_n and_n existence_n must_v have_v spiritual_a object_n to_o be_v please_v and_o delight_v with_o for_o they_o can_v take_v no_o delight_n in_o other_o thing_n because_o they_o be_v unsuitable_a to_o they_o but_o now_o when_o soul_n be_v join_v unto_o god_n spiritual_a thing_n be_v join_v unto_o that_o which_o be_v spiritual_a the_o spiritual_a soul_n unto_o god_n who_o be_v a_o spirit_n and_o the_o god_n of_o spirit_n and_o therefore_o from_o the_o soul_n be_v enjoy_v of_o god_n and_o have_v eternal_a communion_n with_o he_o who_o be_v the_o father_n of_o spirit_n those_o joy_n &_o delight_n that_o hereby_o will_v everlasting_o fill_v the_o soul_n must_v needs_o be_v inexpressible_o great_a and_o glorious_a and_o the_o reason_n be_v this_o because_o here_o be_v a_o suitableness_n between_o the_o soul_n and_o the_o object_n to_o which_o it_o be_v unite_v and_o suitableness_n always_o produce_v love_n and_o where_o there_o be_v love_n there_o will_v be_v joy_n and_o delight_n and_o always_o the_o more_o of_o suitableness_n there_o be_v between_o one_o person_n and_o another_o or_o between_o a_o person_n and_o a_o object_n still_o the_o more_o of_o love_n and_o the_o more_o of_o love_n the_o more_o of_o joy_n and_o delight_n thus_o now_o it_o be_v between_o god_n and_o the_o soul_n no_o object_n so_o suitable_a unto_o the_o soul_n as_o god_n no_o object_n so_o love_v and_o desire_v by_o the_o soul_n as_o god_n and_o consequent_o no_o great_a joy_n and_o delight_n can_v befall_v the_o soul_n than_o in_o the_o eternal_a enjoyment_n of_o god_n and_o this_o shall_v be_v the_o happiness_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n for_o ever_o four_o god_n be_v a_o all-sufficient_a good_a and_o therefore_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o must_v needs_o be_v a_o great_a happiness_n to_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n be_v it_o possible_a for_o a_o man_n to_o live_v in_o this_o world_n free_a from_o all_o pain_n and_o suffer_v in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o all_o outward_a abundance_n even_o to_o the_o utmost_a of_o what_o there_o be_v in_o all_o the_o creature_n to_o make_v a_o man_n happy_a yet_o if_o all_o that_o good_a that_o he_o enjoy_v be_v not_o enough_o if_o it_o do_v not_o answer_v all_o his_o want_n and_o fill_v all_o his_o desire_n to_o the_o full_a so_o that_o he_o can_v crave_v nothing_o more_o this_o man_n notwithstanding_o all_o his_o enjoyment_n have_v not_o attain_v unto_o happiness_n it_o be_v true_a he_o be_v in_o a_o happy_a condition_n than_o most_o man_n be_v in_o regard_n whereof_o possible_o he_o be_v become_v the_o envy_n of_o his_o neighbour_n but_o yet_o be_v he_o not_o complete_o happy_a because_o there_o be_v a_o insufficiency_n in_o all_o thing_n here_o below_o to_o make_v a_o man_n happy_a the_o philosopher_n tell_v we_o that_o happiness_n be_v a_o state_n wherein_o there_o be_v a_o aggregation_n or_o meet_v together_o of_o all_o good_a thing_n whatsoever_o so_o that_o according_a to_o this_o definition_n of_o happiness_n if_o a_o man_n can_v be_v suppose_v to_o enjoy_v all_o good_a thing_n and_o yet_o self-sufficient_a for_o himself_o and_o all-sufficient_a to_o his_o creature_n this_o title_n he_o give_v himself_o gen._n 17.1_o i_o be_o say_v he_o to_o abraham_n god_n all-sufficient_a there_o be_v in_o he_o a_o sufficiency_n of_o all_o that_o be_v desirable_a a_o immense_a fullness_n a_o ocean_n of_o goodness_n all_o that_o good_a that_o be_v in_o all_o other_o thing_n whatsoever_o be_v in_o he_o with_o the_o addition_n of_o a_o incomprehensible_a overplus_a whatever_o good_a any_o have_v find_v in_o relation_n friend_n health_n in_o learning_n wisdom_n wealth_n and_o honour_n all_o this_o and_o much_o more_o be_v to_o be_v find_v in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o one_o god_n the_o whole_a world_n and_o god_n put_v together_o be_v not_o at_o all_o more_o excellent_a than_o god_n alone_o for_o whatever_o excellency_n there_o be_v in_o the_o creature_n it_o be_v more_o eminent_o and_o transcendent_o in_o god_n already_o all_o addition_n to_o he_o therefore_o signify_v nothing_o nay_o let_v i_o add_v all_o the_o creature_n in_o the_o world_n if_o they_o stand_v by_o themselves_o be_v but_o so_o many_o cipher_n that_o signify_v nothing_o unless_o the_o great_a god_n as_o a_o solid_a number_n be_v add_v to_o they_o set_a god_n aside_o and_o in_o the_o whole_a creation_n there_o be_v not_o a_o all-sufficiency_n to_o be_v find_v for_o one_o soul_n but_o that_o soul_n that_o enjoy_v god_n have_v a_o all-sufficiency_n such_o a_o one_o may_v say_v with_o the_o apostle_n i_o have_v all_o i_o abound_v i_o be_o full_a and_o with_o holy_a david_n the_o lord_n be_v my_o portion_n i_o shall_v not_o want_v for_o have_v he_o who_o be_v all_o to_o be_v we_o we_o have_v all._n and_o this_o now_o be_v the_o happiness_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n that_o there_o god_n shall_v be_v all_o in_o all_o unto_o they_o five_o god_n be_v a_o satisfy_v good_a and_o therefore_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o must_v needs_o be_v a_o great_a happiness_n to_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n pleasure_n and_o delight_n be_v of_o the_o essence_n of_o happiness_n and_o flow_v from_o that_o satisfaction_n that_o our_o desire_n receive_v in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o a_o good_a we_o possess_v and_o whatever_o it_o be_v that_o we_o enjoy_v if_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o to_o fill_v and_o satisfy_v our_o appetite_n from_o crave_v more_o we_o be_v still_o short_a of_o happiness_n let_v our_o enjoyment_n be_v what_o they_o will_n such_o a_o good_a now_o be_v god_n a_o good_a beyond_o who_o there_o be_v nothing_o imaginable_a to_o be_v conceive_v and_o therefore_o it_o be_v impossible_a there_o shall_v or_o can_v be_v any_o thing_n desire_v but_o nothing_o else_o be_v so_o if_o we_o leave_v god_n out_o whatever_o we_o take_v in_o the_o heart_n will_v still_o be_v capable_a of_o desire_v more_o all_o the_o world_n and_o all_o the_o creature_n that_o it_o be_v stock_v withal_o shall_v they_o conspire_v and_o meet_v together_o to_o make_v up_o a_o happiness_n for_o one_o soul_n they_o can_v not_o do_v it_o god_n have_v not_o give_v a_o commission_n to_o any_o thing_n here_o below_o no_o nor_o to_o all_o of_o they_o put_v together_o to_o give_v we_o contentment_n and_o satisfaction_n he_o have_v commidionated_a the_o thing_n of_o the_o world_n to_o feed_v we_o to_o clothe_v we_o to_o strengthen_v we_o and_o to_o refresh_v we_o in_o the_o house_n of_o our_o pilgrimage_n but_o it_o be_v only_o himself_o that_o can_v give_v we_o contentment_n and_o satisfaction_n worldly_n thing_n be_v so_o far_o from_o give_v we_o contentment_n that_o there_o be_v this_o curse_n of_o god_n upon_o they_o all_o that_o whoever_o set_v his_o heart_n and_o affection_n inordinate_o upon_o they_o shall_v never_o be_v satisfy_v with_o they_o for_o as_o the_o wise_a man_n say_v eccles_n 5.10_o he_o that_o love_v silver_n shall_v not_o be_v satisfy_v with_o silver_n nor_o he_o that_o love_v abundance_n with_o increase_n now_o the_o true_a reason_n why_o worldly_a thing_n nay_o throw_v in_o the_o whole_a world_n itself_o yet_o be_v there_o a_o vacuity_n and_o hollowness_n that_o can_v be_v fill_v up_o thereby_o moreover_o the_o soul_n of_o man_n be_v of_o a_o noble_a and_o excellent_a be_v and_o next_o to_o angel_n the_o top_n and_o flower_n of_o the_o creation_n and_o all_o thing_n here_o below_o be_v inferior_a to_o it_o nay_o they_o be_v dregs_o and_o lees_n compare_v to_o it_o now_o that_o which_o

complacential_a manner_n to_o conspire_v together_o how_o to_o give_v up_o themselves_o whole_o and_o entire_o to_o himself_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o no_o good_a short_a of_o the_o high_a and_o the_o chief_a good_a can_v satisfy_v the_o soul_n of_o man_n now_o this_o good_a be_v only_a god_n himself_o and_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o in_o heaven_n be_v that_o which_o only_o give_v full_a contentment_n to_o the_o soul_n in_o all_o its_o capacity_n and_o desire_n the_o happiness_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n shall_v be_v the_o same_o which_o god_n himself_o enjoy_v now_o the_o infinite_a blessedness_n of_o god_n consist_v in_o the_o fruition_n and_o enjoyment_n of_o himself_o for_o himself_o be_v his_o own_o happiness_n now_o this_o also_o be_v to_o be_v the_o happiness_n be_v god_n the_o most_o suitable_a good_a unto_o all_o our_o desire_n as_o he_o be_v be_v he_o also_o a_o all-sufficient_a good_a able_a to_o relieve_v and_o supply_v all_o our_o want_n and_o necessity_n as_o he_o be_v be_v god_n also_o a_o satify_v good_a that_o can_v give_v full_a contentment_n to_o the_o soul_n as_o he_o can_v yet_o if_o he_o be_v not_o a_o permanent_a and_o a_o abide_n good_a the_o soul_n can_v not_o be_v happy_a in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o for_o the_o thought_n of_o lose_v so_o great_a a_o good_a though_o it_o be_v after_o million_o of_o year_n enjoyment_n thereof_o be_v that_o which_o will_v fill_v the_o soul_n with_o bitterness_n and_o sorrow_n while_o it_o do_v enjoy_v it_o o_o how_o will_v the_o soul_n sigh_n and_o say_v it_o be_v true_a in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o god_n i_o now_o partake_v of_o a_o great_a happiness_n yea_o the_o great_a that_o i_o can_v possible_o enjoy_v but_o alas_o there_o be_v a_o time_n a_o come_n when_o i_o must_v part_v with_o this_o my_o happiness_n o_o my_o soul_n thou_o shall_v not_o be_v always_o thus_o happy_a thy_o blessedness_n be_v every_o moment_n wear_v away_o thy_o happiness_n grow_v less_o and_o less_o daily_a because_o the_o time_n of_o enjoy_v it_o grow_v short_a and_o short_a and_o must_v not_o yea_o can_v it_o be_v otherwise_o but_o that_o the_o thought_n of_o lose_v so_o great_a a_o happiness_n saint_n here_o be_v the_o same_o with_o that_o glory_n that_o be_v the_o expect_a consummation_n of_o a_o saint_n happiness_n hereafter_o it_o show_v the_o great_a necessity_n that_o there_o be_v that_o all_o that_o desire_v to_o be_v happy_a hereafter_o shall_v endeavour_v to_o be_v holy_a here_o now_o how_o holiness_n qualify_v for_o heaven_n and_o why_o it_o be_v so_o necessary_a to_o the_o obtain_n of_o heaven_n will_v appear_v in_o two_o particular_n one_o be_v because_o holiness_n and_o heaven_n be_v one_o and_o the_o same_o thing_n and_o the_o other_o be_v because_o of_o the_o great_a unsuitableness_n between_o heaven_n and_o a_o unholy_a soul_n first_o there_o be_v a_o agreeableness_n yea_o a_o sameness_n between_o holiness_n and_o heaven_n the_o glory_n of_o heaven_n lie_v not_o in_o this_o that_o a_o saint_n shall_v there_o outshine_v the_o brightness_n of_o the_o sun_n that_o there_o he_o shall_v not_o be_v expose_v to_o heat_n to_o cold_a to_o nakedness_n or_o want_n that_o there_o he_o shall_v be_v free_a from_o disease_n sickness_n and_o death_n itself_o that_o he_o shall_v not_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o meat_n drink_v and_o clothing_n no_o nor_o that_o he_o shall_v always_o be_v in_o the_o hear_n of_o melodious_a song_n and_o hallilujah_n of_o saint_n and_o angel_n these_o thing_n indeed_o be_v in_o heaven_n
that_o he_o be_v free_a and_o may_v do_v what_o he_o will_v with_o his_o own_o these_o now_o be_v some_o of_o those_o scripture_n that_o be_v make_v use_n of_o for_o and_o against_o this_o assertion_n of_o the_o saint_n have_v different_a degree_n of_o glory_n in_o heaven_n which_o be_v the_o truth_n i_o shall_v not_o affirm_v i_o be_o inclinable_a to_o believe_v that_o there_o shall_v be_v different_a degree_n of_o glory_n in_o heaven_n but_o withal_o let_v i_o add_v though_o it_o be_v possible_a that_o some_o may_v have_v great_a degree_n of_o glory_n than_o other_o yet_o all_o shall_v partake_v of_o the_o same_o happiness_n nay_o all_o shall_v have_v as_o much_o of_o glory_n and_o happiness_n as_o they_o can_v contain_v though_o one_o vessel_n may_v hold_v more_o than_o another_o yet_o all_o shall_v be_v as_o full_a as_o they_o can_v hold_v nay_o further_o which_o be_v yet_o more_o all_o the_o saint_n in_o glory_n shall_v enjoy_v the_o happiness_n of_o heaven_n in_o the_o same_o perpetuity_n one_o as_o well_o as_o another_o for_o eternity_n shall_v be_v the_o measure_n of_o all_o their_o happiness_n but_o whether_o there_o shall_v be_v different_a degree_n of_o glory_n in_o heaven_n hereafter_o or_o not_o yet_o may_v the_o people_n of_o god_n at_o present_a make_v this_o double_a improvement_n of_o it_o first_o if_o there_o shall_v be_v different_a degree_n of_o glory_n in_o heaven_n than_o the_o consideration_n hereof_o shall_v exite_fw-la christian_n to_o labour_n after_o the_o high_a degree_n of_o grace_n that_o be_v attainable_a in_o this_o life_n thy_o fear_n and_o doubt_n be_v many_o thy_o corruption_n restless_a and_o importunate_a thy_o temptation_n strong_a and_o potent_a and_o almost_o irresistible_a though_o thou_o see_v thyself_o at_o the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o saint_n which_o he_o there_o call_v the_o child_n of_o god_n and_o the_o child_n of_o the_o resurrection_n shall_v be_v equal_a unto_o the_o angel_n may_v be_v desirous_a to_o know_v how_o or_o in_o what_o respect_n shall_v the_o godly_a then_o be_v like_a unto_o or_o equal_a with_o the_o angel_n to_o this_o i_o answer_v they_o shall_v be_v like_o the_o conquer_v the_o difficulty_n and_o overcome_v the_o obstruction_n that_o will_v hinder_v thou_o from_o experience_v so_o sweet_a and_o comfortable_a a_o life_n and_o get_v the_o mastery_n over_o thy_o thought_n and_o affection_n by_o a_o accustom_a obedience_n and_o conformity_n unto_o the_o practice_n of_o this_o heavenly_a duty_n thou_o will_v then_o find_v abundance_n of_o sweetness_n and_o delight_n therein_o and_o thy_o experience_n will_v confirm_v this_o to_o be_v a_o truth_n of_o great_a verity_n that_o the_o life_n of_o christianity_n be_v a_o life_n of_o joy_n that_o therein_o be_v to_o be_v find_v such_o abundant_a strong_a consolation_n as_o will_v lift_v up_o thy_o soul_n even_o into_o the_o very_a suburb_n of_o heaven_n itself_o so_o that_o thou_o will_v seem_v to_o be_v as_o it_o be_v in_o a_o new_a world_n through_o the_o sense_n and_o feel_n of_o those_o joy_n which_o the_o apostle_n tell_v we_o be_v unspeakable_a and_o full_a of_o glory_n now_o although_o the_o bare_a propose_v of_o the_o glory_n and_o happiness_n of_o heaven_n unto_o the_o thought_n and_o meditation_n of_o a_o christian_a shall_v be_v argument_n strong_a enough_o to_o put_v he_o upon_o the_o practice_n of_o a_o duty_n that_o be_v accompany_v with_o so_o much_o pleasure_n and_o delight_n for_o certain_o a_o more_o sweet_a delightful_a and_o desirable_a life_n a_o christian_a can_v live_v for_o this_o way_n of_o live_v be_v to_o bring_v down_o heaven_n unto_o we_o before_o we_o be_v take_v up_o thither_o it_o be_v to_o begin_v to_o live_v that_o life_n on_o earth_n that_o we_o shall_v for_o ever_o live_v in_o heaven_n and_o how_o then_o can_v there_o be_v any_o need_n of_o argument_n to_o press_v christian_n to_o live_v such_o a_o life_n as_o this_o be_v yet_o because_o sad_a experience_n tell_v we_o how_o hardly_o the_o best_a christian_n be_v draw_v to_o a_o daily_a practice_n of_o this_o heavenly_a duty_n i_o shall_v lay_v down_o some_o argument_n to_o one_o of_o the_o strong_a cordial_n to_o support_v itself_o under_o trouble_n and_o affliction_n that_o can_v be_v this_o will_v sustain_v a_o christian_n spirit_n under_o suffering_n make_v they_o more_o easy_a to_o be_v bear_v this_o keep_v the_o soul_n from_o murmur_v and_o repine_v under_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n make_v it_o patient_a under_o all_o its_o tribulation_n yea_o these_o believe_a view_n of_o heaven_n and_o glory_n will_v uphold_v and_o strengthen_v a_o christian_n resolution_n for_o god_n and_o holy_a obedience_n and_o keep_v he_o from_o forsake_v christ_n and_o religion_n for_o fear_n of_o trouble_n and_o persecution_n alas_o will_v such_o a_o soul_n say_v what_o if_o the_o way_n be_v rough_a and_o unpleasant_a unto_o the_o flesh_n yea_o what_o if_o it_o shall_v be_v through_o mud_n and_o blood_n yet_o heaven_n be_v at_o the_o end_n and_o that_o will_v make_v more_o than_o a_o thousand-fold_n amends_o for_o all_o the_o suffering_n that_o i_o can_v endure_v in_o the_o way_n o_o sweet_a pain_n and_o torment_n o_o bless_a woe_n and_o distress_n o_o rich_a poverty_n and_o reproach_n o_o happy_a restraint_n and_o imprisonment_n but_o much_o more_o happy_a death_n however_o it_o come_v that_o be_v accompany_v with_o the_o joyful_a foretaste_n of_o a_o future_a happiness_n in_o heaven_n as_o no_o bolt_n nor_o bar_n no_o restraint_n or_o distress_n can_v shut_v again_o to_o give_v we_o a_o exact_a account_n of_o that_o most_o glorious_a and_o blissful_a place_n it_o be_v true_a the_o bless_a apostle_n st._n paul_n be_v herein_o privilege_v above_o all_o man_n that_o ever_o live_v be_v take_v up_o into_o heaven_n by_o extraordinary_a favour_n for_o a_o time_n and_o vouchsafe_v some_o little_a more_o knowledge_n of_o that_o heavenly_a place_n than_o what_o we_o poor_a mortal_n know_v by_o what_o he_o there_o hear_v and_o see_v which_o when_o he_o return_v to_o earth_n again_o himself_o tell_v we_o the_o happiness_n thereof_o be_v so_o great_a proportionable_a thereunto_o as_o no_o man_n have_v see_v god_n himself_o so_o no_o man_n have_v see_v the_o heaven_n of_o god_n the_o habitation_n of_o his_o holiness_n and_o glory_n our_o lord_n there_o to_o be_v enjoy_v which_o be_v the_o subject_a matter_n of_o this_o discourse_n be_v thing_n that_o be_v invisible_a and_o out_o of_o sight_n but_o they_o be_v so_o only_o to_o a_o eye_n of_o sense_n for_o to_o a_o eye_n of_o faith_n they_o be_v the_o great_a reality_n in_o all_o the_o world_n the_o heavenly_a glory_n indeed_o be_v that_o which_o be_v spiritual_a but_o it_o be_v not_o therefore_o that_o which_o be_v not_o real_a but_o because_o it_o be_v spiritual_a therefore_o be_v it_o the_o more_o real_a yea_o and_o be_v spiritual_a and_o so_o the_o more_o real_a therefore_o also_o shall_v it_o be_v receive_v and_o entertain_v by_o christian_n not_o only_o with_o the_o great_a seriousness_n and_o earnestness_n but_o also_o with_o the_o strong_a faith_n and_o firm_a
